It was quick to make an appointment and they were very responsive on their webpage. I came here for a french manicure in the afternoon on a week day and they weren't crowded at all they have a backlot, but it's easier to park on the street. It's also tricky because you can't always turn certain ways on lighthouse so you have to look at a map to see the best approach. I got an elderly lady who was fairly accurate but a bit slow. It took at least 45 minutes to get my nails done. I didn't have a soak or hand massage and I didn't have old polish to remove. It was just a simple french tip. It lasted for a couple days. When I got home, I put an extra top coat on it to protect it from chipping. Not bad, and very reasonably priced but a little slow of you just want to stop in for a quick polish. read more

Very clean , very professional.... Owner is so sweet an kind offered a beverage during my pedicure.... The pedicure was so relaxing and the chair massage was nice as well... I recommend this nail salon and I will be back soon....They take walk ins as well. AND before I left they gave me another %20 off of a very painless back wax..... Holy Moly I felt so clean and happy with my service today.... Tammy the owner is even going to pickup some Asian Pears for me at the local farmers market.... I started coming to this nail place about a year ago and at first, i wasnt impressed. I had had some issues with the way the women did my nails. It always seemed that they wouldnt understand what i wanted and i always walked out dissatisfied. But then by chance, i got my nails done by the owner, Charlie, and i will not have anyone else do my nails from now on! I'm giving this place 3 stars because I told the owner I wanted 2 pedi and one mani for my daughter and I. The girl who did my pedi was amazing and the women who did my daughters clearly didn't get what the owner told her. She proceeds to paint my daughter's nails with out giving her a mani on top of trying to put a design on her nails and color that she did not want. As I'm asking the women who is attending to my daughter did she give her a mani a man comes over and has the nerve to ask "well did you say you wanted her to get a mani as soon as you walked in?" I said yes I did he proceed to apologies for the miss understanding. I don't think that's good business. Regardless if a customer changes their mind you should accommodate their request not say oh well did you ask. read more

Went a few years ago & had a good pedicure & excellent service. This visit was the opposite... technician left while my gel remover was soaking & returned with stale cig breath, first gel color wasn't as advertised - old polish?, ordered upgraded manicure thinking it would include fingers & nails - NO. Returned to a different salon today & tech needed 30 minutes to remove gel ... likely caused by old products from Top Nails. Won't return or recommend as there is a better salon less than a mile away. Tech was nice, but beware quality of products. read more

The guy who did my nails was named 'Hi'. He was literally the best manicurist who has ever done my nails. I always love my French acrylic square and he did them perfectly. No jagged sides , he did my nails with quality and experience . He has been doing nails since the early 2000's so he's a perfectionist with his experience in nails . I am not from Monterey but was visiting from the East Bay. If I had time I would seriously consider driving there in the future just to get a fill. There are some salons where the technicians seem to be more interested in chatting with one another than doing quality work. This is not one of those salons! Every time I go in, all of the technicians, including the owner, are very attentive to their clients. The salon itself is clean, no clutter and is spacious. I live in Carmel but it's worth the drive into monterey, imo. I definitely recommend this nail salon. read more

Tammy rocks my nails and Kim kills it for a pedi. I won't go anywhere else in the area; It's always clean, friendly and a warm atmosphere to talk story and get glam which is a perfect combo in my book. Park at CVS so that you don't have to worry about feeding a meter or moving your car. read more

I called an made an appointment for 9:00 am the following day. When I arrived, I saw that I hadn't needed to call, but they were expecting me and ready as soon as I got there. A mani/pedi with gel and paraffin and everything took about 1.5 hours and cost $100. I hadn't had my nails done since August. Im very happy with how it all turned out. New to town. Made an appointment and everything was right on time, as scheduled. I had a full with gel overlay and asked for my nails to be cut down. Nails are uneven and the gel has chipped on many nails after three days. Perhaps because the manicurist used only two coats of gel? I've been getting my nails done for years and it's the first time that has happened. Super disappointing! read more

My favorite nail salon! I've tried a ton in the area and top nails is definitely my go to nail salon. I've been getting my nails and toes down here for several years. I love Tammy!!! They are really clean and nails last forever. Prices are also good. Their pedicure is amazing. They use the scrub and hot towels and do a wonderful message. You will not be disappointed!! I LOVE TOP NAILS! I've been coming to this nail shop on and off for years but they're definitely keeping me now! I've tried other places in the area and I can honestly say this is the best place to go. Their shop always smells clean and fresh, not like chemicals. Each person that works there has done my nails at least once and i trust all of them to get my stiletto shape perfect and they do it as sharp as I want! Their whole staff are pleasant people. I'm very indecisive about picking a color and they let me take my time and help me pick colors and designs. The picture is of my nails I just got done yesterday by Tammy and I'm in love. One of the reasons I love going there is because they always stay up to date on nail design trends so if I see it on Pinterest I know they can do it for me! Thank you top nails, I'll be back in a couple weeks for a fill! Oh and when I break my nails they always take me in and fix them flawlessly for me! read more

The best of the Top Nails chain. They do incredible work for very good prices. This is usually my go to spot but sometimes i have gone other places if they seem busy. I always regret when I go to another walk-in nail salon because my standards are so high now. Top nails takes the time to clean your nails and cuticles making sure everything looks nice before painting your nails. Everywhere else I have gone pays almost no attention to that and goes right to painting. My gel nails here always last two weeks of not more, with my job my hands are submerged in warm water a lot too. Will continue to come back here every time! read more

IF YOU WANT A GREAT MANICURE, PEDICURE, FULL SET, FILL OR ANYTHING ELSE, COME TO TOP NAILS! I am always so impressed by the acrylics and pedicures they do for me. The salon is spotlessly clean, every employee there is friendly and does a great job on your nails, and it's relatively easy to park right in front. While you can't go wrong with whomever is doing your nails at top nails, the sets that Tammy does for me are my favorite! The shop is owned by a husband-and-wife team. They are the worst manicurist in the shop. They are not friendly and arrogant when you point out that the job that they have done is substandard. As a returning customer I was very disappointed with the response of the husband-manicurist when I had the unfortunate experience of having a very poor gel manicure. Difficult to recommend this shop to anyone. read more

Came in to get 2 acrylic nails repaired. One nail was cracked that needed to get fixed. The nail tech proceeded to crack the original nail off and then use a power drill to sand down. The drill tip was previously used and not replaced. He continued to sand my nail with a pre-used tip which was not sanitized before use. I asked the guy "do you have alcohol to sanitize that?".. He said, "No..We don't have alcohol." Then he proceeded to fix the nail .. And I was bleeding all over .. I asked if they had antiseptic or anything antibacterial for hygiene. The guy proceeded to say... "Women rather have beauty than hygiene!!" Please beware of this place !!!! read more

My nail lady Tammy recently bought this salon! She has been doing my nails for over 2 years now, and she is amazing at what she does, a true nail artist! She is very efficient and makes sure my nails are perfect before I leave, and if I do find anything wrong with them, she makes certain to fix it without hesitation. I always leave loving my nails! I used to get pink and white gel, but recently I've been getting shellac color on an acrylic overlay. I've referred several of my girlfriends to Tammy, and they've ended up loving her work just as much as I do. I'm pretty picky when it comes to nails and I've honestly always left a very satisfied customer. I don't trust anyone else to do them except for Tammy! Came with hubby for a pedicure during our anniversary runaway weekend and we're extreme to pleased with both the employees and the care they take in their work. The prices are EXTREMELY reasonable for those area, especially when everything else is nearly double what they charge. They were very friendly and put us both at ease.
