Tom does my nails and he does a very good job. Unlike other places, the paint stays on for 6 weeks! That's how long I wait between paint jobs. Very reasonable and worth the short drive to the mouth of the valley. read more

You walk in the door and there is no smell. It is so clean no chemical smell. Tom is normally who I use and I don't know how but his nails polish last longer than anyone else. There is nothing worst than to get your nail done and the next day they are starting to flake off...he is a master at this. When I am home in Carmel I head over to see Tom. Linda and Tom have own done nails for over 30 years. They are very personable, and both are very talented technicians. Linda is friendly and warm, able to do exactly what I wanted, and keeps very long-term clientele.I like going to a small salon where I am acknowledged, and treated respectfully while enjoying the technician's company.Being a massage therapist, I keep my nails short. I have an acrylic overlay and use a French polish with gel. She did a perfect job, and let me take her picture afterward, which I think was very rare. The price was very reasonable. We didn't need to do a whole lot of talking, but when we did, it was enjoyable and they speak excellent English. She is very good at what she does. They were doing a remodel of the pedicure chairs, and so that was not available, but will be soon. It will be a welcome addition when they get their chairs installed I highly recommend this small, couple owned business which works by appointment, much nicer than a large salon with walk in traffic. It's a convenient location just passed the 76 gas station, very easy to find. read more

I LOVE Tom...I tell him all the time that my manicure and pedicure last longer than any I have ever had. My nails are great they have dips and creases in them and Tom makes that go away and they look wonderful. I hear that Linda is as wonderful as well. I have been wanting to find a good nail salon. I was hopeful, from the reviews, that this might be the place, but, sadly, no. The place is quaint and appears clean, but just a few days before Christmas it should be jammed, right? There was no one else in the salon mid-afternoon. And then there was Tom. Friendly. A bit too friendly. I am sure I am not the only woman who has been made uncomfortable by his flirtatious nature and I am certain I am not the only one to find his homophobic comments more than annoying. I have been a customer of Nails by Linda for close to 3 years now. Tom and Linda still provide the same amazing service I received on my first visit. I have quite honestly not let anyone else do my nails! I went on a two month-long vacation, and just let my nails grow naturally. I was so happy to get in to see Tom so he could fix them after my awful attempt at painting my own nails! Linda is always updating the nail color selection, both gel and regular. I have been working my way through her new color-change gel polishes. They are really cool, and change with temperature. Tom was amazing and was able to get me in for an appointment the same day. I'm here on vacation and needed a gel pedicure today for an event tomorrow. Tom was very professional and funny. Place is not clean!!! Just by walking in and looking at this shoddy place, I should have known to walk out! And pedicure by Linda was awful! Linda and Tom are both awesome nail technicians and make every client feel special with their warm words and kind reception. They both have many years experience and know what they are doing. Called for a spur of the moment couples Mani & Pedi and Tom and Linda were luckily able to accommodate us do to a cancelation. What a fun, warm, welcoming team including their cute greeter Crystal, the toy Pomeranian. The shop was clean, had big comfy chairs (massage feature not evident although they looked like a massage chair) and Linda & Tom did a great job while keeping us thoroughly entertained. I love this nail salon and it is the best nail salon in Monterey Bay. I tried many nail salons before I discovered this nail salon. Both Linda and Tom are very experienced and provide a very professional work of art. Typically, Linda does my nails unless I scheduled an appointment requiring both nail technicians to work on my hands and feet simultaneously. They're both talented and professional; I receive many compliments on my nails. Tom is always telling jokes and joking around so I cannot believe that one of the reviews mentioned that he was insulting; you do not have a sense of humor if you do not recognize that Tom is just a happy guy who likes to joke around. She gives an excellent pedicure, both in shaping and technique, always recommends the best color for me, and is a knowledgeable and pleasant woman. I had a gel manicure done by Tom. He was amazing; very sociable and very funny. It was quick but still very relaxing. Sometimes it feels like gel manicures can take an eternity, but he was very efficient. This was very important to me: he didn't seem to damage my nails before he put the gel on (it seems like some places really sand down your natural nails before applying the gel; not here though!). He told me he's been in the business for 31 years, and the person next to me said they've been seeing him since he opened! I've heard he has very loyal clientele, but I was so happy that he was just as accommodating to a new comer. His prices are also EXTREMELY reasonable. Usually I have to drive to Seaside or Marina to get prices that good, and I never thought I would find such a reasonably priced salon in Carmel!
