Sad... this used to be one of my fave salons. Beautiful remodel a few years ago, but the Pandemic must've hit this salon hard. Maybe quality doomed it. Location is still good, but avoid this salon. There's better one's nearby. Old gel polish - chipped & peeled within a week. I used my hands & fingers for basic stuff, nothing extraordinary. Curing was done well, so it was def a product issue. Tech had sandpaper hands with bad nails. This is always a red flag. He didn't wear gloves, so my hands were abraded when he finished. I have dry skin that's sensitive due to eczema. Too bad I didn't notice his rough hands before my nails began the soak. Sanitary process was used, but salon appears dingy & unkempt. TVs no longer play any shows because owner stopped paying the bill. Parking is good. Location is perfect for a quick mani if you're doing a load of laundry next door, but not worth the cost anymore. read more

Such a horrible experience, stay away if you can help it. What was supposed to be a celebration turned into horrible experience. My daughter wanted to get her nails done for her birthday so we decided to do a walk- in to ask if they had availability for her and her sister. The manager was kind enough to accommodate us, now I wish she wouldn't have. The birthday girl had her nails done with no issues. Aside from a messy job. Unfortunately her sister was not so lucky, she sat down with Jack who turns out to be the managers husband. At first I noticed that he was rushing her to pick a color but I did not think too much on it. As he continued to work on her nails I notice red marks on the side of the pinky and the thumb. I stopped him and asked is that blood? He said "yes" like it's completely normal. I told him stop don't continue your being too rough and you made her bleed. He tried to convince me to continue a few more times and I declined. Then he says I have medicine, let me put medicine. I turned him down as I did not want him touching my daughter at all. I tried turning things around for the sake of my girl. I requested for the older gentlemen to finish her nails. I spoke to the manager to explain to her that this is not okay and her answer was that "men" tend to be rough and that if I would have allowed them to apply medicine the wound would be completely gone and healed. I explained that the damaged done to the nail was not going to be undone with some "miracle" medicine. A simple sorry would have sufficed but instead she chose to shift the blame. Her response to the situation is enraging. I don't recommend this place at all. Seriously stay away from this place!! The whole situation ruined my daughters day. Lynn please evaluate the work your older employees are doing and pay attention to your customers. The older gentleman try...but cold water soaks and they scrubbed the top of my foot with course bristle brushes that hurt so bad I had to say stop 3 times. And blind as a bat! My 2 year old granddaughter can probably paint toe nails better. It was so bad. $35 dollars for a basic pedicure only to feel pain, stressed out and disappointed after, nope not anymore. Not doing this to myself. Giving up the mani and pedi's-what once was my luxury is now a miserable experience. Horrible experience. I'm not one to leave bad reviews but I don't want to stay quiet so that this can happen to another person. I just had my acrylic nails that I had done at another salon removed by this salon. The guy pried the acrylic off my nails with pliers. It hurt so bad and when I asked him why we aren't just soaking it in acetone, he said "this is how these are removed". A lie. While this was happening I was looking around and noticed that the place was very dirty. The tools he was using on me were rusty and were NOT sterilized. Afterwards he slapped some gel polish on top of my bumpy nails. This man that did my nails was way too rough. I asked him to he gentle and even though I kept flinching he did not take it easy. My finger started stinging half way through and after I told him 3x he just scraped the product off my of finger with his dirty fingernail. My cuticles all stung when I put sanitizer on. The polish is super messy and smeared as soon as I got to my car because the fan wasn't on at the drying station - just the UV lights which only dry gel as far as I know. read more

I met Lynn back in 2012. She was at a different location but she is such an amazing human. So friendly and down to earth. I followed her to her next location. I was only here for a year but she was my go to gal for my nails. I am VERY particular about my nails and she always made me feel like I was getting them done for a special occasion. Her husband Tony works along side of her and I just can't rave enough about this couple. I came back to Monterey for a short time and was really hoping to find her. Many places didn't make it after Covid, so I was a little nervous about what might happen to my nails. Anyways I looked around a bit and found Lynns Nail Bar. I made an appointment and hoped and prayed that it was going to be my Lynn. I walked in and low and behold there she was. It was like the heavens opened up and sang me a song!! I arrived at this place after booking an online appt for royal nails and spa (which I later found out was the same thing as lynn's). I booked my appt for 6pm and I wasn't seated until about 6:25. they close at 7, so I was not sure Bao would be able to finish my nails, but he stayed late to finish and did a wonderful job and didn't make me feel rushed at all. Went in to get my nails fixed from a botched job by a different place and then got an ever worse botched job my Lynn herself!!! Totally unsatisfied and am NEVER going back! If I could give them 0 stars I would. She was even rude to me! Told her and showed her a fuz on my mail and asked for her to take it off and she saw it and told me, "it's fine no one will notice" and then just painted the top coat over. I wanted a full set of acylics what I got was a full set of DISASTER. First she did nothing with my cuticles. That should have beeny first clue. The nails themselves are mostly crooked, and improperly shapped. Left a ton ton excess under my nails. They were SUPER thick. The paint which was black with matte top coat was uneaven. Spots were missed and you could see through in some places. Then to top it off I wasnt even given any lotion at the end just hurried off to pay. Then to top it off the price said said 28$ then I was upcharged without my knowing to 43$. If you are going to upcharge me tell me. Tell me the price before you do ANYTHING! Dont just spring it on me at the end. And esspecilly not for that bad of a job. I had to go to another nail bar to have them fixed it took two girls and they were horrified at how bad it was. I saw the mix of reviews... took a chance anyways. I was in the area and had some free time that wasn't planned, so I stopped in. Looking back, I should have called and made an appointment with one the three women praised in other reviews. I came in for a regular pedicure and a gel manicure. I never got the names of the women who did the work because they were too busy talking to each other, talking on their cell phones, or trying to keep track of the basketball scores... what??? Neither of them really spoke to me except a couple of questions about length etc. The whole thing was a bit awkward. I have had my hands and toes done at the same time many times. Never with a weird table over my legs! I had to lean forward and stretch my arms out constantly to keep my hands in the UV lights. I kept hitting my knees on the table when switching feet for the pedi. Weird and very uncomfortable. Pedicure: was ok. She asked if I wanted them short, and I said yes. I had no clue she would try to file the nail bed too! No cuticle pushing or trimming like I am used to. Halfhearted scrubby work. I usually laugh hysterically as I am ticklish, but this barely made me giggle. Scrub was a waste of time, as was the "massage." Polish looks okay, which is more than I can say for my fingers.... Manicure: certainly NOT worth $35!!! My 3 year old niece would have done better work because she pays attention! When you are being paid to do nails, stop trying to watch basketball! Only one hand got a soak. The cuticle pushing was nonexistent. She just ran the tool lightly down the tips of my nails. Zero trimming around the edges of my nails. Hardly any surface sanding, just a quick swipe. Here is the worst part... the polish is hella thick in some places, and hella thin in others. If you run a finger down my nails, there are waves! There is just as much gel polish on the skin around my nails as on them!! She put lotion on both hands, but only massaged my right hand for 23 seconds. Yes, I counted. I guess if you are a regular, or getting acrylics, you are treated well and spoken to during the process. Instead, I read the closed captioning of the Food Network. read more

My friend ended up calling this nail salon and they had an immediate opening. Upon arriving, the owner was super nice and accommodating. I got a gel manicure done and had to ask the lady correct a few spots, and my nails still turned out with uneven polish. I had the worst experience this afternoon at Lynn's Nail Bar. There were two female teenagers that appeared to have a negative attitude towards Lynn and altered Lynn's attitude for the rest of the day. My nails were terribly done and I tried to correct Lynn in the nicest way and say that the length of my nails were incorrect and received a response that it was "too late". Lynn then proceeded to discriminate me and asked me to pay before the nail job was complete assuming that I had came to the nail shop with those teenagers and that I had no money. Lynn said furthermore she would not put paint on my nails until I paid which I found VERY disrespectful. I paid for a job that I was completely dissatisfied with and was told over the phone that she simply wanted nothing to do with my nails and would not provide a refund. I received IMPECCABLE service at Angel Nails across the street and would suggest every one to go there! They fixed my nails the way I wanted them with NO ATTITUDE OR HASSLE! read more

I went to Lynn's Nail Bar yesterday, December 1st. I had heard good things about their work and was looking to find a new salon. The establishment looks clean and organized. There's even child sized pedicure chairs for the little ones which is super cute! I did not make an appointment therefore I was assigned the next employee available which was an elderly woman. I do not remember her name however I estimate she was well over 70 years old. I was leery about her ability but I had high hopes I would walk out of there with a nice manicure and a new favorite nail salon. That is far from the case. I am a single parent of three children, I go to school full time and work part time so I must spend my money wisely. Getting my nails done is the one thing I do for myself on a regular basis. I am very particular about my gel nails and feel they should be done well with no nail exposed, cuticles cut back and an overall neat appearance. I left Lynn's Nail Bar feeling frustrated and like I wasted $40. When she was 'done' I still had to ask her to cover a portion of one of nails. She did not apply the loose glitter properly and it now snags on my clothing. I feel my nails look messy and sloppy. Looking at them with fresh eyes today I can see on several nails there are areas she did not cover. Bless her heart for getting out there and earning a living, however, I am extremely unhappy with the outcome and will never go back to Lynn's Nail Bar because of this experience. I will happily go back to my regular salon where the colors are losing their appeal but they are always done correct, professionally and I pay $10 less. read more

Avoid Helen at all costs. She is lazy and mumbles under her breath. She would file my nail and then throw my hand to the side. I went in at 9:00am to fix my nails that Tony had done. My whole right hand is longer than the left and there were air bubbles left in two of them which popped as soon as I got home. I arrived at 9:00am by myself since everyone working there was late. Lynn looked at my nails and asked who had done them, I told her Tony and she put me with Helen to fix them. I only had black with gold sparkles- I don't know how difficult this can be. I came in the next day to get them redone and the owner was generous enough to schedule me an appointment to redo them for free the next day. I went back in today and as she's trying to fix them she let's me know that my nails are "crooked" and that there pretty much isn't any fixing to be done but that she would try her best. Went here spur of the moment for a pedicure, the woman who greeted me and my boyfriend was super friendly. I convinced him to get a pedicure too because of the massage chairs, which were awesome here. The environment was very clean, friendly, and comfortable.
