I have been here once before but never wrote a review for it - but I wanted to get my nails done today for a pride event tomorrow and didn't want to wait for a nail artist appointment I had on the 19th - so I went. Tee did the base of my manicure and pedicure and Tina did my design - I will say since it is a pride design, it has many colors and I feel like a lot of people in the salon were like omg so many colors - not in a bad way but just in general. But I think the service was great and pricing reasonable for what I got. Tee had to deal with my not great feet that are prone to ingrowns and thus have a lot of dead skin like underneath the corners - I kept apologizing and she was very kind. Lots of creams and a steamer for the pedi I got which was nice. I will say, I don't think I saw them open their tools for the pedicure from a sealed like bag, they just came from the back on a tray - though it's possible that they were just opened away from me. Tina was very kind and did my designs which were fairly...detailed I would say. When I had a want of more paint or more jewels, she did it without complaint - I am very quiet when I am in a nail salon personally - or at least I was in a quiet mode so I did feel bad for being silent but not much judgement from what I can tell. So many people are popping in and out and I would say I don't know how they manage all the clients they have with maybe like 6 people? But they do. My mani pedi took 1.5 hours for reference. I will update this as far as wear later on. I would say it was good quality service for the price and for a general nail salon - you may disagree if you are used to going to nail art specific people perhaps but that's my view. As far as vibes - super busy like I said - people come and talk to each other while they get services - not what I like to do personally but there's lots of that. Employees talk to themselves in their language but surprisingly quietly, I had no idea how they all heard each other. There are two big TVs they have generic shows and ads running on and general spa music. They also have a either ancestor altar, and or ancestor plate - I think that is what it is called though I am not certain - in the front. I thought it was a nice touch personally.
Been here twice. First time I got a manicure with gel polish and it chipped after two days. The second time I got a French manicure and it also chipped. I don't remember the price of the gel but the French tip was $40. Not worth it
Really terrible experience here. The manicurist used a very coarse emery board across my nails and cuticles like she was sanding a 2" x 4", look at the photos. Tore up my cuticles. She was SO rough. The manicure was very sub par. The photos I'm posting are from my manicure yesterday. Just 30 hours ago. It looks 4-5 days old.I couldn't wait to get out of there. She was so unpleasant also. She was a middle age (50-60ish) Asian woman with her hair back in a pony tail and wore glasses. If you go here, avoid her.
I've been going to Serenity nails for a few months now and they are always very thorough on getting my nails the way I like them. I chose a design and they create it on my nails. Always simple nothing gaudy! I would highly recommend this nail salon to anyone in need of pampering . The vibe in this salon is so relaxing you catch yourself dozing off, lol...
I've been coming here for about 3 years now. Tina is absolutely amazing. I bring her an inspiration photo and give her some minor adjustments and she goes to work. I am always amazed at how quickly and careful she works. I work a hectic schedule so I don't always come in regularly as I should. Sometimes I come in with long over due fills, busted, popped off nails & she always gets me back right. I love that she has a huge selection of colors, acrylics, and charms! So many tiny, cute decals, hearts, gems I love it.

I went on a Tuesday afternoon around noon as a walk-in and they weren't busy The two ladies took their time and were truly phenomenal. Other times I've been here I felt rushed and the work is reflected in my nails as they chip a few days later :/ The staff are always so nice and welcoming. I will definitely be coming back around that same time to get my nails done again. Nails are gel polish only :)
My friend and I came here around 1pm Friday afternoon (2/24/2023), we called 10 minutes prior to coming to ensure we would be taken care of right away. The employees did not acknowledge us quickly, waited for a bit before getting a desk for both our gel manicures. I sat down, my friend sat down next to me, we thought we would be getting it done at the same time. One lady sat down and I thought she would work on me, but she turned to my friend who had gel nails that had to be removed. I sat there for an hour before another nail tech said she would get to me next. My nail tech started working on my nails and went back and forth with another customer several times. I asked for a tip on my nail that was broken to make sure it would be all even. She then proceeded to add a dip powder acrylic on top of the tip, making my finger nail extraaaa thicccc. First nail tech left me after that and another took over. I felt they took on more customers than they could handle and did a terrible job. The new nail technician recleaned my nails and rush it, cut me pretty bad on my pinky to where it was bleeding. My friend and I were trying to enjoy some self care and pampering and left feeling really upset. Both our gel nails were just sloppy, inconsistent, and they're already chipping and peeling off. Hasn't even been a week yet! Literally there for TWO hours for 2 gel manicures. This salon doesn't seem very sanitary, the tools they use are rinsed off in the nail water, wiped down and put back into their boxes. I paid 33$ - not sure if it was discounted for being injured or the long wait. My friend paid 35 - not sure if it was for gel removal or regular price.
I just started having my nails done. Before they were just natural. I've gone to three places so far to get a dip. The thing I didn't like was that they were always so thick and within less than a week it looked like I needed to have them redone. I walked into Serenity Nails one day and met Tina. I told her what I didn't like about the current look of my nails and she said that she'd be able to help me. I made an appointment for the following week. I am so glad that I found her. She's super nice and does a really good job and spends a lot of time on my nails. The look is very natural and I can go over two weeks without having them redone. I have gone there twice now for the dip and another time for a pedicure which I also loved. The salon is super clean and airy. I feel totally safe going in there without a mask. Everyone is super friendly and I would recommend this place to anybody! Nina
I rarely write reviews. Only if my experience was excellent or terrible. Unfortunately, it was the latter at Serenity Nails. I came in yesterday for a 5pm appointment and waited half an hour to be seen. I had asked for a specific color and she said she had just the one. After the 3rd coat they were a tacky bright white but because I'd waited so long to be seen it was already 6:30 and I was late for a 6:30 dinner reservation, so I didn't have time to have them changed. I came in today to have them simply paint one coat of pink over them to tone down the white and they had me wait over 45 minutes for a 5 minute fix. My mother was waiting in the car so I asked them repeated when I would be seen and they kept giving me a different time. Finally, when I lost my cool and asked them if they were seriously going to make me wait 45 mins for a 5 min fix on an appointment that already ran late yesterday and made me late for dinner as well, they sat me down and fixed them. Big no and never again for me.
Tina is AMAZING Been looking for a nail spot east of the Mississippi that actually cares about their clients. Finally! Tina recognized me from another place she worked before opening her own spot, it's been 2 years. I've been looking for where she went! She took the time to push cuticles and reinforce my tiny nail beds AND went back to correct my crooked nail (broken finger years ago). She said let me make your nails beautiful, and she did! Will be back in about 2 weeks. Thanks again Tina!

This is an overdue review for my experience back years ago when I had lived in Monterey & worked over at Ryan Ranch. This is one of my favorite nail spots to date! I've come back a few times since visiting the area and love the quality, cleanliness and friendliness of the staff! Tina keeps up with all of the latest trends! She showed me a picture of the water bubble nails and she did it! Everyone is so nice and friendly. I always feel right at home in the shop and look forward to the experience. read more

The thing I didn't like was that they were always so thick and within less than a week it looked like I needed to have them redone. I walked into Serenity Nails one day and met Tina. Wow this was one of the best experiences we've had at a nail salon . Before I forget not sure if im spelling correctly Helena ,Andy and Lin were fantastic. We got a pedicure both my husband and I and i also got a manicure. Andy did the manicure for me and hand painted my french manicure. I got an awesome massage and I got an awesome massage and pedicure from Lynn. My husband got the royal treatment from Helena,. He also got a pedicure with a really long massage on his legs and feet and also got a mask on them both great experience next time I'm in Monterey I will make sure to come there everyone else was closed or had customers that they didn't have time for us but they did thank you we will be back He service was excellent and we were both sooo read more

I really love the job they do here and how much they appreciate your business and show it in their actions. It's important to them that you leave loving your nails and I appreciate that. I also love how they are not overcharging for services. Everything I have had done has been very reasonable. Would recommend them to anyone looking for a consistent spot on the peninsula. read more

I have come here 3 times now and every time I come they do an amazing job. The first time I came for a pink and white set, it was one of the most clean and precise sets I had ever gotten! This last time I got ombre with a flower. They sat me with two different ladies to make sure whoever could do the best ombré and who ever could do the best flower, got to do it on my nails. They do not ever sacrifice quality work just to get a sale. A lot of places in seaside and monterey, want to get you in and out for your money, here they will make sure you're happy with their work! read more

This was my first time going to this salon and I loved it. It's very clean and bright in there. The ladies are very friendly and sweet. I didn't catch the name of the lady who did my pedicure but she did a great job. Tina is the new owner and she also did a great job on my nails. I didn't think that spending hours in a nail salon was my idea of a good time, especially with my boyfriend on Valentine's Day, but I have seen the light! I went here for a nail spa day and my boyfriend tagged along for fun. You have to try everything once, right? Plus, my toes did look a little bit rough. I had a really nice elderly lady help me with my pedi she seemed to have more experience than the lady that helped my boyfriend. His water was very cold and they had to remove the water and refill it which took a while. The lady who helped me even stopped and helped take the paraffin wax off my boyfriends feet soles because his lady had only wiped the tops of his feet so they weren't clean. The lady who helped me made sure to look out for her coworker which was nice! After I got my acrylic nails refilled and they came out even and a beautiful color! I really enjoyed the experience overall. My boyfriend tipped 20% for the service and overall I think it was around 180 dollars for an acrylic refill and two special pedicures. If I'm nearby I'd be happy to come again! read more

The people were very nice. The salon itself was super clean and Covid friendly. However the manicure itself is probably the worst I've ever had. I just wanted my nails cleaned up and shaped nice. I do bite my nails sometimes and it shows but she didn't even try to file anything. It was probably a 5 minute manicure and the lotion smelled absolutely terrible. Really disappointed because I rarely treat myself to a manicure. read more

I really wanted to love this place - it's priced really competitively, the people who worked there were super nice and funny, and frankly it's one of the cuter looking nail salons in the Carmel/Monterey area which makes the experience a lot nicer - but my manicure was pretty terrible. Less than 24 hours and my index finger has chipped slightly, Orange from my last mani is left over on the edge of one of my fingers, two of my nails have little flecks under the polish that make my nails look bumpy, and the cut on my cuticle negates the clean polished look a mani is supposed to creat. If you're not particular about your manicure - it's a nice experience but I am, so I was disappointed and won't be returning. read more

Cuticle trim is 5$
