I came to this salon just after they reopened during covid. The salon was empty! Apparently they only allow 2 people in at a time. Even if you are just waiting for an appt you have to wait in your car. It was very clean. They used gloves, wore masks and used individual one time use kits for their tools. I felt incredibly safe. Their service is focused on quality over quantity now. My guy took his time carefully cleaning and painting my nails. They are not allowed to perform massages but I got a little bit of one with the sugar scrub. Overall if you're worried about playing it safe, this is the place to go for nails. read more

**Update: After posting my review the owner, Nathan, contacted me and apologized for my experience. He assured me he spoke to the manicurist and hopefully no one else will experience what I did. He invited me to try his shop again, which I'm undecided about. But his apology is greatly appreciated.** My friend and I went here yesterday and my first experience here was ruined by 1 manicurist. My friend had been going here for a while and she likes the colors they have for gel polish so I thought I'd give them a try. I already had gel polish so I got seated first to get it removed. The first woman that was helping me took out a drill to remove my polish. I was concerned since I'd never had that used on me before. But as I was staring at her work she was very precise and careful to only remove the polish, not file away at my actual nail. After she finished another woman sat down to cut and paint my nails. That's when the horror began. I have thick nails that are very curved. So when she grabbed the nail clippers and tried to cut my nail straight across in one go it was a bad idea. But she proceeded to do so despite me flinching a few times. After the cut she used a coarse nail file to roughly file my nails down further. Then came the cuticles, again roughly pushing them back and taking out the cuticle cutters. She poked, prodded, and ended up cutting the cuticles on 2 of my fingers (pics posted) to the point they were obviously bleeding. Not a single sorry. Yes, I should've said something but I didn't. My friend sitting next to me was done already since she didn't need polish removed. At this point the woman doing my nails starts rushing even more. The real kicker was at the end. After curing the last coat they wipe your nails off with rubbing alcohol or whatever. She does this but goes back to my 2 cut fingers and furiously rubs at my cuts to get the blood off (I'm assuming to hide evidence of what she did). It hurt so I recoiled my hand from her as she's staring at me as if I did something wrong. I was so upset with her I didn't get her name, I paid and left (even left a tip which I regret now). If you go here do NOT let this woman touch your nails! She's older (40's- 50's) and has glasses that look like the lens are one piece. She's probably newer since my friend had not seen her before. read more

I've been coming to this place for years because they do a very good job and my nails are long lasting, but I have finally decided I am done with this place. It's been various times that I make an appointment and they don't honor it. I have a busy schedule, making an appointment is necessary so I can plan my day accordingly. It sucks showing up and appointments not being honored ESPECIALLY after spending another 10+ minutes driving to the bank to take cash out because they only take cash now. It's not a 5-10 minute wait I'm complaining about, it's 20+ minutes OR them telling me to come back at a time that is convenient to them. One time I did come back and they still weren't ready. I was in desperate need for a new set so I called and Nathan was able to fit me in. On the phone, I specially asked him if I could soak my current acrylics off in acetone and get a new set and he yes.. When I arrived, he began to pop off my nails with another fake nail, THIS HURTS! I usually request to soak off because my nails are already extremely thin and delicate. And of course, he made my finger bleed,BADLY. This is why I asked to soak them off. Besides that, I just wish he would've gave me what I asked for. He did an amazing job with shape and color. I was set back that he charged me $50 but you pay for what you get. They look great. Maybe gel manicure is not what they are good at. First of all, my middle finger got cut. Second, the surface of the gel nails is not even, some are too thick. Some are very thin that you can see the paint stroke. Third, there are bubbles and bumps. The lady said I can pay more and she can do another layer. I declined, because my nails were already too thick and uneven. I look at and fidget with my nails a lot, and uneven surface really bother me. Don't get me wrong the nails turned out amazing but let me walk you through the process of my ordeal while cutting the coffin form, my finger was stabbed by the sharp iris scissors. You might think, "not a big deal" right? Wrong, this can be a big issue especially if someone is diabetic. I say this because those same scissors were then layer just put away in a drawer leading for me to think they aren't sterile. A friend recommended this place to me because I was looking for a convenient spot to get my nails done that's on the way to and from work/school. I'm so glad I came here and I've been loyal since. Both Nathan and Holly have worked on my nails and they've done an amazing job each time. They have been the only ones who actually pay attention to how they shape my acrylic sets to accommodate my really small nail beds. They take the time to make sure it's shaped right and it's the length I prefer because there's times when I want them a little shorter or longer than usual. I also get the mix powder color which is so much better than the gel. It's a little pricier but the color is much better and you're able to get more variety with designs. They're also able to recreate the designs you show them from photos. Regarding wait time, I usually go on a weekday afternoon so it isn't busy but I always call in advance just to give them a heads up! read more

Very very rude!! When I called to make an appointment she said I couldn't book an appointment too far in advance and was very sassy with me. When it came to the actual day of my appointment. The lady that did my nails was very rough and mean. She cut me multiple times and burned me with a tool. She also shortened my nails after I asked her not to. She felt a black ring around all my fingers from the black dip powder. It's been less then 24 hours after getting our nails done, both my nails and my friends nails(got gel) have chipped. This was my go to nail shop for a few months when I first moved to Marina for college. I went back home to my regular nail lady and she said my nails were in VERY POOR SHAPE. My nail beds were blood shot red and my nails were INCREDIBLY thin. (Mind you my nails were thick and flourishing before I left for college) My poor nail appearance was caused by getting a new color and Nathan and Holly drilling over my nail bed countless times down to the nail bed. My nail lady recommended that this salon should've used a natural acrylic overlay to protect the nail, and buff off the old nail color instead of drilling it off EVERY. TIME. I'm not sure if this salon has the equipment or this acrylic overlay product, but with their pricing they should have it. Naturals nails matter, too. I will be driving 2 hours to my nail lady back in the Bay Area because she's the only one I trust, and she genuinely *cares* for her clients nails. **Do not get their dip powder on your natural nails. It's not worth $50-$65 and your nails will prove so** *Always make an appointment. I would not recommend walking in as you'll be staring into the abyss for 15-45 minutes or they'll ask you to come back in an hour and a half with a considerable wait time. UGH!! Just don't! I am new to town and normally get the dipping powder because it's natural and doesn't destroy my nails. So that's not really a California thing so I just went with the gel. First the guy doing my nails told me there was no such thing as organic dipping powder, I told him I could prove it - conversation over. I told him I just wanted gel, he wanted to put some type of build up on my nails, which I can't have due to my job, after he kept repeating he wanted to this I said if he didn't understand do NOT do my nails.
