Mani Pedi I walked in at 4:30 PM and D took me immediately. I've had many a mani:pedi in my day, but this was off the charts. We haven't even gotten to the nails yet and Thuy has already spent 45 minutes on my feet touching every single nook and cranny. Thuy - ask for Tee, was terrific. Manicure was impeccable. Sitting have a "fit slam" blast at dennys in Monterey as I am early for an appt. Denny's ! Haven't been to one in years and very impressed. The service was excellent. The food was fresh, I should've taken a picture. This little place is a hidden gem. I came here for the first time and the service I received was AMAZING! I got a gel manicure and pedicure by Frankie and he provided such great customer service - he was gentle, friendly, and payed close attention to detail. This place deserves more attention and stars!! All the staff here were so welcoming and made me feel super comfortable. During my service, he always checked in and made sure I was doing okay. I will be returning and recommend this to all my friends/family in this area. I am HUGE on sanitation. They take super precautions and clean before and after each clients. They also have shields to protect you from the next client sitting near you. I saw them properly sanitize their tools and wear gloves/masks :) I spent about 90$ including tip for both services! Best Spa treatment I have received compared to four others I have visited in the last 6 months. The reason is for the true spa experience given to me by Mary. She was friendly and attentive to my comfort. When my chair massage stopped, she restarted the massage. She massages the leg, spends time scrubbing the feet with visual checks. I had an acrylic fill: -Acrylic is uneven -Rushed through filing -Crooked nails -Acrylic & Paint on my cuticles -Uneven nail length -No finesse while using the electric drill filing thing -Called in advance, they said come at 5pm, showed up and had to wait 45mn -I literally sat there and showed the lady how each nail was crooked and of course she took offense I can keep going ... I wish I read the reviews. I'm from the UK and just in Town for a week before moving on. My manicure was awful. The nails were uneven and the gel incredibly thick. I cannot recall ever having such a dreadful manicure. I'm hoping I don't end up with an infection as the manicure instruments were not sterilised and the gel bottles looked very grubby. I usually leave a nail bar feeling elegant and pleased. I left this bar feeling annoyed and foolish for sitting through the painful ordeal. Once or twice a bit close, but not every digit! I had a great experience here! I stopped by on my morning walk and asked if I could come back at 11. They were super friendly and accommodating. When I came back, they looked closely at the inspiration photo I brought and helped me choose the perfect colors for it. Felt good about the different COVID safety measures, like all the plexiglass and the masks they wore. Em has been sthe consistently great. She never pushes gel or any expensive things like other nail salon. I know what I need is a simple pedi and manicure(no polish just buffing) and the price!!! Despite the reviews, I took a chance because it was the only place open in walking distance from our rental. What a treat! It was clean with plexiglass dividers for safety, and above all, the ladies are hardworking and professional and reasonable. Small businesses like this are struggling to survive. I made an appointment here, had great gel manicure followed by a lovely pedicure. Yes the women are Vietnamese. But they are like anyone else. DO NOT USE THIS SALON. I have never had a worse manicure in my life. I was visiting Pacific Grove, staying at the Centrella Inn around the corner. I wanted a regular mani and pedi. Aside from the fact that the pricing on the wall said $30.00 for both, they quoted me $35.00 probably realizing I was a visitor in town. I didn't see the pricing until I walked out the front door. I'd be okay with that except for the absolute worst job ever done by a girl named NANCY. My cuticles were jagged, nails were crooked and she actually painted on all of my cuticles. The only reason I couldn't tell was because I needed my reading glasses to actually see the crappy job that she did. I couldn't believe it. Again this place is ridiculous and does very sloppy work. I don't know about the other two women in the shop, but Nancy is the worst! read more

She cut my big toe nail too short--it hurt for a week. I can endure the no smiling service and am pretty sure they never stop trash talking about their clients in Vietnemese while we sit there and feel uncomfortable. But I understand you get what you pay for and this place is very cheap. However, this time was too much--even for a frugile diva like myself. I handed over two twenties for a $34 dollar tab and didn't get any change. I was going to tip, but not six bucks for a bleeding toe. When I tried to ask for my change the language barrier suddenly went into hyper-drive. It would have made for great sit-com material if someone had been taking notes. So I left and she got her big tip and I will give you all this advice--only go here if you are craving an akward, shoddy experience. This place is in a great location, however the service here sucks! The women working here look miserable and have the attitudes to match. The massage with the pedi was comprable to a toddler trying to crawl up your legs. This place is just tacky. They made me wait half way through my pedi, so they could start on someone who didn't have an appointment. I probably shouldn't waste my money on a mani, but I'm lazy and have things to do. The nail technician was really nice and sweet, but she cut my skin on my feet. Also, there is a limited amount of nail colors--had I known, I would have brought some from home.
