Every time I'm in Monterey this is definitely where I come to get my gel manicures. The owner is so friendly and has no problem helping out if you're having trouble picking a color or trying to replicate some nail inspo you've seen on Instagram or anywhere else. It's a little pricey but you absolutely get what you pay for so I don't mind splurging every once in a while. My nails always last 2+weeks so I think it's worth it! Here is the ombré gel manicure I got today! I 10/10 stars recommend! read more

I had the worst experience here! I went to get my toes and nails done and the lady who did my toes started whining and complaining that she had to do my feet when she rolled up my pants. I forgot to shave and there was just a bit of stubble nothing crazy but the whole time she was complaining and being dramatic by putting distance between my feet and her. This put me in a very uncomfortable environment and almost on the verge of tears. Overall the nails came out normal but still never recommend! read more

Very disappointing experience. I went in Labor Day as my usual nail spot was closed. I decided to give them a shot and ended up paying twice for my nails. The first time I went in, I asked for my nails for be removed and get a new set. The lady said it would be better to do a fill. I agreed but since the nails I had on were done in blue acrylic powder, they would be ombré. It was fine with me because I told her I wanted it to be covered by the red gel polish. My nails ended up very short, bumpy, thick and round- jelly bean looking like. I told the lady to thin them out, but i don't think she understood me. I was so disappointed but just wanted to get out of there because it took so long to get done in the first place. I paid $36 + $5 tip. I went back the next day where I showed the owners my nails & they agreed they weren't pretty. I had them removed and redone by someone else. She did a good job. I was pretty shocked when she said it would be $26( wirh 15% tip) because she had to redo them and said I would only be paying the difference from gel fill to acrylic full set with gel. I get it, I do. But she had honestly done a bad job the first time. Then second lady did a nice job but I felt as though I went in the second time to get them fixed because she was sloppy that I shouldn't have had to pay. I didn't mind because I actually liked them but how could you charge someone after your employee did a careless job in the first place? I would have tipped. But pay twice for your nails? They were friendly but did not take care of me. Very disappointing and overall saddening experience. read more

Disappointed to say the least. I had the regular mani/ pedi with callous removal. The gal that did my pedi scraped my foot so hard she caused it to bleed from the pressure. I had initially told her that I had ingrown toenails as well. She worked on the big toe, then proceeded to tell me that it would cost extra and that person wasn't in the shop that day who specialized in that kind of thing. Throughout the whole experience, she was seemingly unfocused on me and engaged in conversation with 2 others that work there. As a footnote I decided to have my brows waxed afterwards. The total bill was $85. Never again! read more

At age 78 I found self-pedicure bending over for lengths of time increasingly difficult. Then I discovered "Polished" nail salon in Marina, CA. I'm no longer bending over my feet for an hour +. While sitting in a massage chair Nancy soaks, massages, waxes, oils my feet ending in polished nails with so many color choices it's fun deciding. I don't know how I have done without this marvelous service, and have become a regular with the salon and Nancy. H. Marina, CA read more

I came back to Polished after getting a great pedicure. I decided to see how they do with acrylic nails and took an chance and tried the dip gel. Since i had never gotten my nails done with them I did not know who to ask for and they assured me all their nail techs were not only capable but good at the technique. They were wrong. The girl (Yvonne; i think) who did my nails was not only standoffish. But completely unskilled. I had to walk her through the process of shaping my nails over and over. She stared to dip them and layer on the color while the shape was horrendous and fanning out on the sides. She became less and less friendly as she struggled to achieve the shape I was sure she was capable of. I have never been more disapponted in a shop and have getting similar nails done for 10+ years. I create a Yelp account exclusively to warn people about the terrible service and unskilled techs at this location. read more

True test of customer service: your store isn't even open yet, but when customers walk in, you help them anyway. That's what Polished did for my friends and I this Tuesday. We wandered in and asked for manicures and pedicures, and they had us pick polish and get settled. It wasn't until we commented on how new the building was that they said they weren't actually formally open yet. That's a testament to serving customers. That said, the salon is pristine and in beautiful condition, bright with light colored walls, orchids, and pleasant music playing. I got a manicure, and they did a wonderful job. They also let me sit in one of the spa chairs, even without getting a pedicure, and the massage it gave was amazing. It truly worked out some of the kinks in my back. While doing our procedures, the staff was really friendly and chatted with my friends and me. Sometimes in nail salons, I feel awkward because the staff will talk amongst themselves and I'm not sure what's going on, but here we were treated like part of the family. Given that it's a team of sisters who work here, there's definitely that welcoming family vibe. My manicure was $15, which is standard for the area, and I think spa pedicures were around $25. I don't know the prices, as they weren't listed yet, but I'm sure they're all in the usual price range. My nails turned out well and they ensured I was happy with them before I left. Nothing but good things to say about this salon. Definitely head in and support them if you can. read more

I've gone here twice already to get a gel manicure. Everyone here is super sweet and super talented. I usually just sit there with my earbuds in because I'm shy and I don't really like to talk that much, but since I'm living in the area now I have a feeling I'm going to become a regular here . Gel manicure was $40 after I tipped. They don't charge extra for alternating between colors or for a matte top coat read more

Terrible service! Do not visit this "salon." Overpriced for less the satisfactory service! I received a gel manicure and the polish literally chipped the same day. Apparently no one could design a simple rose all they do is literally polish and that is not even done well. I could literally do the same thing myself. Stay away! Go to Aspire Nails! read more

First time at Polished. Kim is fabulous! Meticulous and so detailed! She is my new go-to for mani/pedis.

Well... I wish that I would have had an opportunity to experience the service, but my husband called in and scheduled an appointment for one child manicure and one adult pedicure and when I am getting setup for my appointment I get told that when I schedule the appointment I should have clarified that it was not for the same person. I felt horribly embarrassed and left not willing to spend my hard earned money at a business that thinks it is okay to make people feel this way. read more

I got my nails done here a little Less than a month again and it was fine but nothing special. I work as a cashier and have to do a lot with my hands in the restaurant so 4 of my nails broke after about a week and a half. I came back here and was going to ask for a whole new set of acrylics. Instead she said she could repair them. I got charged $45 to repair 4 acrylic nails. I had girls tell me they got full sets for $35 in Salinas or Watsonville. Never ever coming here again. So unprofessional and disorganized with services customers receive. Left the salon feeling completely embarrassed and humiliated for a mistake on the salons end from my last service received. I have been coming here for a while now and I am usually a walk in as I have a very busy schedule but I have made a couple appts in the past. Anyways I came in as a walk in again yesterday a girl came up and greeted me and told me it was a 20 min wait which I was ok with, I got my nails done and when I was done I came up to the counter to pay. When I came up to the counter the same girl that greeted me when I came in was at the counter and began to tell me the salon accidentally forgot to charge me for a wax from over two weeks ago!. She than #1 automatically charged an additional 16 dollars to my card which I did not give her permission to do as I wanted to first verify quickly what the heck was going on, make sure this was accurate, and pull up what I was charged from my from last time being there. It was 60 plus I left a tip which came up to 78. I was confused why I was charged 50 dollars for just a simple fill so I was asking questions to have a better understanding. I was floored when another girl jumped in and tried to justify why I was charged 50 for just a fill when she wasn't even the one to perform my last nail service on me ( she also tells me they charge different prices for fills ) . She was extremely rude, not apologetic, and had a "I know it all mentality and so sorry not sorry freaking attitude problem". Then she tried to insinuate I wasn't a regular customer because I didn't make appointments and that if I had made an appt they would have been able to call me right away to fix the mistake, like it was my fault I didn't make an appointment and it was my fault that they where unorganized with the services I received last time. But clearly this place takes walk ins. It got to the point in the conversation where all I could say was just say ok and ok because I was in shock the way I was being treated and I was embarrassed beyond belief. I paid the 16 dollars additional (plus left the girl that did my nails almost a 20 dollar tip because she did do a good job) and left with a terrible experience. At the end of the day I feel like the way they handled the whole situation was totally unprofessional from start to finish. I Will never ever come back here again and I already told my friends and family not to come here after what I experienced. At the end of the day of course I'm going to pay for a service they forgot to charge me because thats a service they performed period. I just think how they went about things/how it was handled was totally 100 percent unprofessional and I will never ever come here again. I will spend my money else where. read more

I have been coming to polished for about a year or so. I never had any problem until today. I went in as a walk in (I usually would make an apt) but I wasn't sure if I would have time today so decided to walk in and ask. They told me it would be a 10 minute wait which it was. I was attended by a young lady who asked me what color, shape, and if I wanted my nails trimmed or filed down. I told her I wanted them trimmed a bit and same shape which she confirmed. After filing down my nails and cutting them I noticed she cut them all the way down and my shape was square rather then almond which is what I had asked for. I was upset that they were shorter as I had worked on growing them and making them healthy. I was telling my boyfriend who was sitting next to me the exact thing I stated above. She said "I feel uncomfortable, so I'm stopping your service". I said ok, and walked out because I felt like I would not need to pay for the disrespect and unprofessionalism. She could have asked another coworker to take over but she choose to stop my service for her mistakes or as she said "uncomfortable". That to me was very low and on top of that, they ran after me and asked me to pay. I kindly said I would not because all she did was cut down my nails and she stopped my service so why would I pay? It's not the amount but it's the principle of running a business and making sure your clients are happy with their service. I left my phone number and name so her boss could contact me because I think it's important that businesses start taking accountability, I would have paid even with my service not being what I wanted but I refuse to be treated unfairly and asked to leave for something I did not do. I have attached a picture of my nails before (it was taken 5 days ago) and is not picturing my entire fingers as I took this picture for a different reference but to get an idea of how the shape and length was. Also see my after picture on how she "shaped and trimmed" my nails. read more

Finally! I have found my pedi place! Esther & Kim are great and gave me the clean & simple mani-pedi combo that I asked for. They did not rush but my time was also respected. The space is right across from Starbucks, sunny with a beach vibe, super clean and they carry all the right OPI shades. I have been in the area three years and looking for my local spot where I can run in regularly. I teach yoga and am barefoot a lot! My feet are what people see while they are upside down so chipped polish, dry feet, etc is not an option. I left Polished with one of the best pedicures I have had in a looong time. Everyone there is genuinely nice. Second runner up is Rose Nails in PG. Too far from me but great pedicures and sweet staff. read more

I am a regular and always receive exceptional gel pedicures and manicures. But today, I came in on a busy day and my nails were rushed and sloppy. I mentioned my nail issue to the women who did my pedicure and she fixed some of the problem (she did not do my nails). I went in with my daughter-in-law and granddaughter for simple pedicures - not gel. I have previously removed gel polish from my toenails but had 2 tiny spots of polish that I had missed. The technician removed them with a nail file. My granddaughter had 2 nails painted with a different color. No one mentioned and additional fees. The fees they charge are already higher than most salons. When I went to pay my bill for 3 pedicures was $105.00 plus $15 for tips. The management argued with us - they charged extra for removing by a quick filing the small spots of gel left and they charged extra for painting 2 small toes with a different color. I will never return to this place. I normally go to Angel Nails. They are reasonable, much nicer ambience and decor, friendlier staff, and better pedis. NEVER AGAIN I received a nasty comment from someone regarding taking "my broke self back to Angel Nails". Sorry sweetheart - never should have come to this place. Customer service and information and additional fees PRIOR to treatment is key. I will take myself back to Angel Nails FYI. Not broke but wiser. Per the answer I received: we did call to say we would be late. Not only that but there were empty chairs and no one waiting the entire time we were there. It was pouring rain and the drive from Corral de Tierra to Marina was crazy so we ended up being later than we thought. The entire time we were there empty tubs were available and not one person was waiting. I managed a medical office, skin care center in Monterey for over 25 years and customer service always came first. Nothing was ever done on a patient or client without a full understanding of the cost. If anyone complained we took it seriously and discussed the matter to come to a mutual resolution. We didn't rely on prices on a board across the room. For you to charge extra to literally open another bottle of nail polish to paint two nails a different color is ludicrous. All it would have taken was for your employee to mention that there is an extra charge and given us the option. You seem to think that this is about money only. It is not - it is about common courtesy and communication. read more

Overpriced the pedicure was 43 which I wouldn't mind paying in a spa but it was not worth the money at all. My feet were in bad shape but the girl acted like she was scared to touch my toes. I had a blister on the bottom of my foot so she removed the skin and placed it on my chin to show me... like yeah I know my feet were in bad shape hence why I came in. She barely scrubbed or rubbed them didn't cut my cuticle and didn't paint a nice French tip. I hate to give bad reviews but this place I would avoid read more

don't recommend. just nail prep alone took an hour which would've been okay with me, but 3 days later and my nails are already coming off. not only that but the nail polish is chipping off. i don't work with my hands so there's not reason why the polish should be chipping off already. the lady also cut me with the drill which i would've let slide, but she did it like 3 times. please don't go. you're better off getting a press on nail kit from target. read more

The girl that did my pedi was super sweet and did an excellent job on my toes. I wish I would have asked her name but I'll definitely be back to see her.
