My group and I went to this bar last night. We are all 22 years old, keep this in mind. When we were giving our IDs the bouncer one of my friends is from Colorado and he said he had never seen one of these and it's fake (she had just had her 22nd birthday). So because he had never seen it before she was turned away and said if she wanted to get in she had to bring another form of ID. So she walked all the way back to our Airbnb to get her passport, so we had to wait outside for an hour because they wouldn't let her in. She came back with her passport and they let us in, they didn't make us pay an entry fee but all in all it was ridiculous. Get someone who can read IDs better! read more

This location said they opened at 9, in the end they didn't end up opening the doors until 10pm, all was fine, it was Sunday night so I expected a smallest crowd, however it ended up being pretty busy. The dance floor was packed, we had spent over $75 plus tips, and about two and a half hours in, I had been dancing with my fiancé and I came back from the bathroom to find that he had been escorted out for no explainable reason. It took me almost 29 minutes to find the one person I knew on this island because no one said anything. Coincidentally he was one of the only white guys that was out on the dance floor . I stumbled upon this place after dinner and shopping to get souvenirs for the family on a Wednesday night. I peeked in, heard the music and knew I would like it. The doorman told me it was free before 10 and it was 9:45. I went back to my hotel dropped of my stuff a.mnd went back. I was ok with paying as entering a bar sweating and out of breath is not a good look. IMO, playbar is the best place for someone who is just trying to get drunk (or be sober) and shake some ass to LET LOOSE, after a heartbreak, blowing some steam/stress, going through some shit of if you're just "f.i.n.e." This is MY go-to club 'cause really, I don't have to pay to get in because I know these folks lol and I don't have to necessarily dress up. We stayed less than 10 minutes after coming in, and they enforce the NO REFUNDS policy hard because they must know what a trash hole their establishment is. Kind of just happened in here. Seems like a place with people who just want to dance and have fun. This is definitely not an upscale club or bar. Felt casual, diverse, and overall chill. My boyfriend and I went here on a Sunday night. Cover is only $5 for 21+ and $15 for those under 21. On Sundays they have $1 drinks. We entered around 10pm and it was pretty empty. No one was on the dance floor and most of the people there were the men at the bar. At about 11pm more people arrived. Most of the people that came were under 21. We liked the music. The DJ played a variety of genres. He played hiphop r&b, edm, salsa music, and some old school disco. By 12 pm the dance floor was packed. If you want some place to dance and drink for cheap, playbar is the place to go. It's pretty much the only 18+ on the island now. It's nothing fancy. The place is pretty worn down. This is world's worst bar. I mean I did not think it could get this bad when the bartenders can not even serve you ONE decent drink. I had to ask THREE times for a vodka sour, one of the most basic drinks, and what I got was a vodka water, then a separate cup with straight sour. My friend started to order a drink and she made the time out gesture with her hands didn't let her finish what she was ordering made her a random drink that she didn't even ask for. DO NOT GO HERE. I should've read the reviews first. The dress code is ridiculous and they pick and choose who they apply it to. Their bouncers are aggressive and hostile. One bouncer told me I needed to leave, wouldn't tell me why, and then threatened me with violence. I'm a 5'3" girl and the bouncer, at least 6 ft 200+ lbs, threatened to "do this the hard way" because I was asking why. The way he said it was very scary. He yanked me by the forearm and started to drag me away. Yes I was drunk but willing to comply if I understood what was happening, but I was confused and afraid. I was extremely disappointed in the door man at this establishment. The even more disrespectful and disgusting part of it was that he was Samoan like me. It was bluntly obvious that he discriminated against my gay friend the moment we got in line. He was dressed extremely nice w/ Lennon pants on, and a white t shirt with short sleeves. This rude ass doorman said he couldn't come inside because his "arms needed to be covered". Mind you, all of us had crop tops on and short sleeves on. The bouncer stated "well they're all girls" (bull*hit). One of us gave him a shawl to wear over his shoulders and we ALL paid the $10 cover charge because we just wanted to have a good time. Once we got inside we over heard the doorman radio all the other bouncers "watch the guy in the green". At that point my friend was over it and was being targeted because he's gay. That was obvious!! They were watching him like a hawk, and ended up kicking him out for wearing it off the shoulder because it was hot. I am extremely disappointed in my own people and the power trip they all were on.
