My husband loves this place but for me, there is much left to be desired. While the newer location is quite modern and clean, the grill size is really disappointing. I've been to many other k bbq restaurants, even those without a buffet, where even for 2 people the grills are 3 times the size. For 90 minutes, you simply don't have enough time to grill what you could because it's so small. They also seem a bit understaffed and although the servers were nice, they didn't have much time to help with the meat cooking like I've seen in other restaurants. It's kind of a free for all. We arrived around 8pm on a Saturday and got seated right away with no reservation. It was crowded but service was on top of it. Constantly checking in, refilling the meats and hot food, and clearing plates away. We never had to wait to get food. There was always a stack of clean plates and a ton of meat selection. It can get pretty noisy but that's part of the charm. Our smoke vent was kind of weak but that might just have been our table. Food selection is standard at a kbbq. They had kalbi, bulgogi, pork shoulder, etc. Dinner time has more options so we got to try to pork jowl which was delicious and another pork item that was also very good. The only thing lacking here is the hot food bar. The kimchi and seafood pancakes and the dumplings are really the only things worth getting (and white rice). One of our favorite AYCE KBBQ spots! Great quality food with a good selection of classic KBBQ meats. Came here on a Friday night around 8pm for 4 people, and there was no wait. Highly recommend their kalbi and beef brisket! They also have a nice variety of prepared food items to eat while you're waiting for your food to cook (e.g., white rice, soup, kimchi and scallion pancakes, fried dumplings, fried chicken wings and japchae). The staff occasionally help you cook the food (especially for the galbi) which is nice so you can focus on eating. For dinner, it was $41 per person. Drinks not included. First time here. So delicious. Huge variety of meats and veggies. Service was friendly and fast. Even though its buffet, our waitress kept an eye on our grill to change it often when needed. She also cut our short ribs when she saw it was needed. Plenty of seafood to grill too but I stuck to the marinated meats, rice and string beans. Plenty of side snacks too such as wings, rice noodles and classic Korean dishes. Weakest point was dessert. Having been to many Chinese buffets, I've come to appreciate the soft serve icecream, sprinkles, small cakes and jellos. Their dessert was Hershey vanilla icecream Dixie cups. I had some fruit cocktail off the salad section, which was very tasty but my sweet tooth was not satisfied. :-) Barring this one, Picnic Garden was excellent and I would absolutely go back. The last time I was here was in high school. Recently came here again for a birthday party The only good thing I would say is the LA galbi. I was extremely disappointed in the quality of the meat for the other stuff. Especially at this price point. I've had better at other places for less. The one thing that really got me is their "ribeye". I was excited to try it because I wanted to try just beef without seasoning so that I can try the quality. The "ribeye" was definitely not ribeye. The chew on it had a similar texture as liver. Another thing is that the tongs to grab the meat are all kinda sticky or have some residue. Hello I'm a customer here and I feel very uncomfortable here because when I brought my SERVICE dog they were eyeing us the whole time and circling our table. When I first sat down they immediately told me if I feed my dog ANYTHING, they would charge me full price of an ADULT, not even a child. The employees also were very judgmental towards every action I was doing and everything I said. The food was also MID and their music taste is VERY ASS. Additionally it was extremely hot throughout this building and they did not provide air conditioning in this HOT weather (91 degrees). I came here with my friend on a Friday afternoon, and we were seated immediately after the staff told us it would be $40/person (ended up being $50/person after tax and tip). The restaurant is buffet style, so everything ranging from different cuts of raw pork, beef, chicken to seafood to side dishes (banchan) to hot foods (fried chicken, rice cakes, noodles) to vegetables were set up. Meats included intestines, marinated and unmarinated, LA galbi, short ribs. The variety was very large, but the quality and flavor were not great. You also have 90 minutes to eat. We got LA galbi, beef short ribs, spicy pork, pork belly, beef intestines, and corn cheese. The LA galbi was not very flavorful despite being marinated and was somewhat tough to eat. The pork belly was dry and very fatty with little meat in the cuts. Since the staff cook everything for you, they would walk away and forget, leaving the meats over cooked, dry, or burnt. This is what happened to the pork belly and galbi. The beef intestines were not cleaned at all, so there was a lot of grit and mid-digested food in the centers. This is not healthy or sanitary. The spicy pork was cooked nicely and very flavorful and tender. Same with the beef short ribs. The corn cheese lacked any sweetness but was decent. My favorites were the spicy pork and beef short ribs. Overall, I would not go back to this place. For the quality and the price, it was not worth it. I ended up paying $50 which could be spent on a restaurant with higher quality meats and service. Huge improvement from the last time I went here a couple years ago. I went today and the 3 Korean ladies were quick and nice and constantly cutting my meat and next to me. The food also tasted better and there seemed to be more variety as well. Price did increase though , I remember it was a lot cheaper but it's understandable as everything went up not just here. But I think 50 per person is way too high for the food here after tips. Be sure not to put too much food on your plate though as I unexpectedly got full after a couple plates of meat quicker than I thought I would (a few of the meats didn't fit my taste) , luckily I finished it all but there is a fee if you don't finish most of your food. The food (raw and cooked) are all in the middle of the room and you grab the food yourself. For the raw food, you cook it yourself at the table. They do come around frequently to change your grill which is nice. Food - For AYCE, the meat is pretty good. My favorites were the LA galbi. The thick galbi had too much tendon but was still decent. Both were flavorful and tender. I like that they gave a basket of lettuce for you to wrap the meat with. The veggies were good! The steak was kind of flavorless. There was tons of different meat, seafood, and miscellaneous food items like chicken, seafood scallion pancakes, corn and cheese dinner (so good), glass noodles, and tables of dry rubs and sauces. The waiters and waitresses were on top of everything, our grill was changed multiple times, water refilled, utensils and napkins brought, meats cut, table cleaned. The price per person is now $40, basically for self-serve AYCE meats that have been deliciously marinated Korean-style. In the limited seafood department are mussels, shrimp and squid. The red meat and poultry depts are a bit more vast, including bulgogi, short ribs, kalbi, chicken wings, etc. There really isn't much else there, besides raw meat. Cooked food selections were soup, fries, fried chicken, jap chae and fried rice, but nothing else that stood out to me. An area I see improvement in is the bbq tray that we self-service and cook our meats on. That tray is so small, it barely fits much meat. Even worse, a staff comes by to switch it off very frequently, which can be disruptive. They also need to add more cooked food selections and maybe another ice cream flavor just so everyone isn't stuck with vanilla lol read more

It is a Wednesday night, not busy at all. The place was about 50% occupied, but they got the point. It's ok, acceptable for me. The host guided us to our table, we started to eat. Our server did her job, cutting the meet, changing the grill plate for us but never say a word. Even i found out the lettuce are dry without washing and had insects on it, and put it right on the table next to my plate. She didn't ask or care about anything. After an hour (60-65minutes) When we were just thinking about can we actually communicate with her in English. Finally the first sentence she spoke to us "If you still want some more meats better get it now" We answered "it's all right" and grill heater got shut off. 5-10minutes later (80minutes in total now). The front desk came again and gave us the bill. It's fine because it's about the time and we were finishing our last dish, then get a icecream/fruit salad and pay for the bill with a good tips. We were still having a good time and didn't want to ruin the mood. Only ONE minute after. The front desk came again and said, (Sorry. you have to pay now.) I was like...huh? my last is still eating and i still didn't get a chance to get my icecream yet. At the moment we were confused about what's going on, there are still many empty tables there and we didn't pass 90 minutes yet. Here She came again and said " You have to pay now or it will be extra charge!" This action causes me really upset and i checked on the bill. We entered at 7:08PM and they kicked us out before 8:30pm when the place is 50% occupied. The front desk explained to me they have to make sure to notice customers 5minutes earlier. Well, i never seen a place has to be so straight to the 90mins time limits and start to kick customers out 10mins before. I was being asked to pay for 3TIMES and warned for extra charge. The funny thing is , at the moment i put down money i realized i still have 8mins left. This place is a joke. I'm cancelling my gathering there on next month and not going back for sure.
