I'm a huge fan of Chinese skewers and have been getting them from skewer carts since I was a kid. It's nice seeing how there are so many skewer spots in Flushing now, and this one intrigued me since it looked like an authentic local joint. They stay open late into the AM, which is always a must for skewer joints. There's seating indoors and outdoors but it's actually pretty hot inside (especially in the summer) and there's only 1-2 tables outdoors. We thought it'd be hotter outdoors so we opted to sit indoors, but we were mistaken. It's definitely not close to fine dining or even a typical casual spot - it's more of a "transported right to China" joint lol. Service was okay; since there's only one small grill serving all the customers, it can take a bit of time but they're pretty good with spreading out your order. They have a huge menu where you can mark down what you want to order, which I haven't seen elsewhere and is a great method. Between the 5 of us, we ordered a ton of skewers and the total bill (paid with a credit card) came out to be $181. For the most part, the skewers had big chunks of meat. If you're a fan of fatty lamb, you'd love this. The lamb skewers were fattier chunks compared to other spots and none of the meats we got came out dry. They use a charcoal grill so you can definitely taste the charcoal flavor. I prefer more of a dry seasoning when it comes to Chinese skewers but theirs is a bit more on the sauce-y side. They also automatically put some spice on the skewers but it's not spicy so you can ask for a side of additional spice as well. The eggplant with garlic also had a TON of garlic - was a bit much but otherwise, was good. Overall, a decent spot. Not as enjoyable to dine in when it's hot out cause inside is fairly cramped with the limited tables. If you're the type to need a good atmosphere to dine in, I wouldn't recommend this spot. It'd probably be best to pay a bit more at the newer skewer restaurants in Flushing. The skewers themselves were good and the veggie ones were tasty as well. They don't provide any water so you're limited to whatever drinks you'd like to purchase from their fridge - which you'll definitely need cause Chinese skewers are saaaltyyy.

Ahh yes, what better way to enjoy skewers at a C sanitation rating restaurant on a rainy Saturday night? Bring a party of 10, of course. Skewers were okay, but I've had better. If you like spice, this is the place to go. My friends and I were dying over the spice and had to ask them twice to lower the spicyness. The best skewers were the beef, lamb, fish tofu, and veggies. Skip the squid. We originally ordered the tentacles but they didn't have so they asked if we wanted the squid body. It was super fishy and tough and didn't taste fresh at all. The place was pretty stuffed and crowded. It's small and there wasn't enough room for us. I actually prefer the skewer place literally three stores down the block--better ambiance, food, and service.

It's rare to see this kind of hotpot in flushing, which is good, but service here really sucks... if you're really craving for the Beijing style hotpot, this is the place to go, but don't expect the service here...

Before you jump the guns from my 4-star rating... Here is my disclaimer Bring yourself back down to mother earth. This is the definition of a hole-in-the-wall. Think: skewer cart with a few tables for seating, and BAM. Don't expect fine dining, nor should you keep things complicated. This is as straight forward as it gets, scribble your order down and you're set to eat. Limited conversations necessary, you're here for cheap yummy food, service should not be a priority for foodies. GET IT TOGETHER. Now that I have that off my chest, these are byfar the most affordable skewer food(~1.25 per) you have no right to whine and complain. They are open till 4am guys, this should replace your late night yakitori run into Manhattan. Rec: All the meat skewers(beef, lamb, sausage, gizzards, etc) Veg(enoki mushrooms) Grilled fish They got tons of stuff on their menu, however some of the stuff we ordered were boiled then grilled and seasoned, which defeats the purpose of bbq. Hence the reason why I say to stick to the meats, the fish. Avoid most of the vegetables, squids (they're doused in sriracha, I want my cumin), and other seafoods. Our order of about 30+ skewers plus drinks came out to a little less than $40 guys. The price on the final bill should be enough to make you all zip your mouth. This is not boot camp, but ya'll should still quit whining.

THE REAL BEIJING BBQ has never run out of food on me. I get take out from here, I eat inside, I call in for carryout. I love the place. Most importantly it has a better homey feel where they're not just anxious for your money but for you to be a returning customer. EACH SKEWER can be made individually and the spice level can be adjusted. The food here never changes and the menu is stacked! I love the chives here and they don't skimp you. A plus is that the prices are still cheap! THIS IS THE REAL BEIJING BBQ SPOT! A new place opened up next door not too long ago, taking away customers since it's been newly renovated but don't be fooled! The servers there have been saying they were the first BBQ place on the block and that they're better, they also even said they were Beijing BBQ taking the OG spot's name! I had double parked on the street to ask if they had chives still avaliable and the waitress said yes! After running back to my car and finding parking I was seated in the resturant and the waitress told me that chives were sold out, but still expected me to dine with them. Furious I stormed out and pledged never to go back after they had lied straight to my face to try and get my money.

Came here with family, and I will have to say, this is very much a hole in the wall restaurant, but I LOVE IT! It's super casual and small, but I really felt that I was somewhere in Asia, and the food was fantastic. Ordered a bunch of skewers, corn, dumplings and everything was on point. We were lucky enough to be there when the owner was barbecuing and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Also, it was so affordable!! Definitely would love to come back here for a lunch, or late night bite.

There was a lot of energy in the place. The wait staff were friendly. Food was great but was pricey per skewer. Food 5/5: Delicious and tasted close to skewer cart (this is a win!). Would have loved to try more things but some skewers were up to $3 each so it got pricey fast. They did have a large selection of skewers to choose from. You get a wrist band with a QR code that tracks what skewers you order. Non-skewer items could be ordered using your phone. Everything was fresh. They had house-made spice and sauce packets at each table. Every table had a cheat sheet showing how long to barbecue each type of skewer. We tried the bbq scallops which were full of garlicky goodness and cold noodles which was a refreshing balance to the heat of the grill. Service 5/5: Friendly waiter. Gave us the run down on how things worked in the restaurant. Periodically checked in on us. No complaints. Ambiance 4/5: Prefacing that the high energy environment was not really my cup of tea but I know others may prefer it. Bright flashing lights and loud music playing over speakers drowned out conversation. That said, the tables were spaced well so every party had their own personal space and restaurant was clean.

The machine kept jamming, and with only two servers on the floor from what I saw, they were constantly running back and forth to troubleshoot it on top of everything else they were already managing. As for the food, I felt it was overpriced for what you get. The place was so busy that there really wasn't much guidance or explanation. We had to ask twice just to understand how the raffle system worked, and there was also a small rack grill next to the skewer grill that no one explained, so we were left confused about its purpose. If you're going for the atmosphere, to hang out, chat, have a few beers, and snack, then sure, it works. But "snacks" is really the right word here because that's exactly how the skewers felt. The portions were small and expensive, and I honestly don't think two people could leave full without spending close to $100. I've been to places with larger selections and better value. (We bought a corn dog and pan fried dumplings after we left) That said, the raffle itself was a fun touch. My husband won a small stuffed capybara, which was cute. But when I played, I ended up waiting a long time because people ahead of me had 50 skewers' worth of raffle entries, and with the machine constantly jamming, the process dragged.

It was a bit drafty at the table closest to the doors, but the host was super accommodating and willing to switch our table. He also provided us with some hot tea while we waited - so considerate! We decided on the Mixed Combo B for 2, which comes with pork belly, pork shoulder, brisket, and marinated short ribs. All of the meats are really good. I'm not the biggest fan of pork shoulder, but this was good here! Kimchi stew always hits different at BBQ spots, and Golden Pig's is delicious. We ordered an extra to go! They don't have a takeout menu yet, but the staff was kind enough to pack us some kimchi and rice anyway. Banchan here is simple but done really well. All orders are put in on the tablet at each table. While the layout of the restaurant is still very much similar to Jeong Yook and Baekjeong previously, it's definitely an upgrade. Ventilatation is pretty good but be prepared to still smell a bit after. Prices are super reasonable. Parking is doable but not always the easiest. Looking forward to coming back soon!

There were several occupied tables, but we still received plenty of attention from the servers throughout the meal. I've tried a few similar places, and this one continues to stand out. The meat portions are generous, and they can handle high heat well enough to develop a great sear. One major change since my previous visits is the appetizer selection. The menu has shifted heavily toward sushi and sashimi offerings. If you're someone like me who enjoys both premium cuts of meat and fresh sashimi, this is pretty much the ideal combination. They now offer many more specialty rolls than before, and the quality of the salmon and tuna also seemed noticeably better. My husband, however, would disagree. Since he doesn't really care for sashimi and prefers not to fill up on rolls, he would have liked to see a stronger selection of traditional appetizers and sides. Another welcome change is that lobster is now unlimited instead of being restricted to a single serving. The lobsters themselves are smaller, which I didn't mind, but both the cheese lobster and the garlic butter lobster were incredibly salty. I'm not sure if it was the seasoning or the type of lobster being used, but the garlic butter version was "clog-my-arteries" salty. I mentioned it to the kitchen simply as feedback, although I wasn't planning on ordering any more regardless. The only items limited to one order per person were the Kumamoto oysters topped with uni and caviar, the sweet shrimp with caviar, and one other premium item that I can't quite remember. Everything else was unlimited, including their new sauce station and ice cream machine. I especially appreciated the expanded sauce selection. On my previous visits, they only offered their Asian spice blend, which is still my favorite. But when I saw they had A1 sauce available, I had to do it--I dipped the A5 in A1. I can't believe they offered it, but once I saw it there, it felt like a rite of passage. One disappointment was that they had run out of foie gras. I had my cash ready and everything. If you pay cash, you receive complimentary foie gras with the Wagyu and uni, so I was definitely looking forward to it. To their credit, they offered us a premium abalone appetizer as a substitute, but I politely declined and opted to pay by credit card instead. The servers were friendly, attentive, and incredibly efficient. There was never any concern about running out of time during the 90-minute dining window. In fact, by the time the 90 minutes were up, I couldn't imagine fitting in another bite. The manager, or at least who I assumed was the manager also stopped by to check on us, made conversation, and was very pleasant. One thing I especially appreciate about this place is that I've never felt rushed. Even when we've gone beyond the 90-minute mark, the staff still comes by to ask if we'd like to order anything else. There's no countdown or "last call" pressure like you often find at other ACYE spots. Overall, it was another very enjoyable meal. I left unbelievably stuffed and, despite a few minor criticisms, still felt it was absolutely worth it.
