This restaurant is one of my favorite Chinese BBQ spots. It is located in Flushing, and it's very close to my wife's house. All the food we had was excellent. We ordered a variety of meat cooked on a stick: Lamb, beef, Chinese Sausage, and quails. In addition to the BBQ dishes, we also had some seafood like oysters and scallops. All the dishes go well with beers! In order to fulfill our cravings we also had some dumplings, chicken feet, and even snails! The dining area is kind of small, so it's better to come early or late in the evening to avoid the crowd. Food is prepared in the kitchen so you will not get the smell all over your clothes. There was a time when Liu Bu (伙伴烧烤) was the de-facto late night destination for sit down Chinese skewer action. Fast forward to current times, it's still open late night, but hardly a destination at this point. It's likely one part pandemic, and many parts food quality mediocrity. The latter has been lacking so hard that I think even 3 stars (#1) might be generous. When I first came here several years ago, it was the place to be at 3AM and beyond. Small tables and fast service combined with some solid food (lamb, gizzards, lamb noodle soup were the go-tos), made me feel like I was back in China finishing up a nightlife filled evening. The menu was vast and the vibe was super unpretentious. Its reputation as a no frills late night joint is still intact, but the service has taken a bit of a nose dive (read: slow and rushing folks out) and the food hasn't felt the same. Many of the skewers were dry and the noodle soup broths are very bland. Some of the cold dishes (cucumber, pig ear salad, and preserved egg + tofu) looked as if they were sitting out a bit too long, and was disappointed in the thick dumpling skins. I was hoping it was just a fluke, but nearly all of the food that was ordered was very subpar. Prices are on an uptick (cold dishes can be $10+, skewers are between $2.50-$4), but still relatively affordable all things considered. I hope they can return to their glory days. I think the place has been a mainstay in this part of Flushing and there's not enough sit down spots for the rou chuan (#2) experience. This is one of the few places that offers more than just a little BBQ, but could use a big lift in getting back to where they started. The food is good, service is fast but this is a in and out type of place. It's not the cleanest but it's efficient. Pricing is okay as most skewer places are averaging $2 per stick now. We got the fried rice as well as the tomato noodles. Those were both pretty good. Texture of the noodle was alittle weird. Honestly, this is my guilty pleasure and my favorite Chinese BBQ spot in Flushing hands down. The food here is very consistent and always tastes great. They are open to late night and it is a very good spot to gossip and drink with friends at night Just know what you're getting yourself into before coming here! The meat isn't as high quality as say Friendship BBQ but what makes this place taste very good is the amount of seasoning they put onto the meat. If I were to compare, friendship bbq has a more clean taste with higher quality meat while this place has more seasoning which packs more flavor! If you are a lover of salt and seasoning, this is the place to go. I always order beef, fish tofu, chives, sausages, and the buns! The buns here are so freaking amazing. Sadly, if you aren't Chinese or can't speak Chinese, there is going to be a language barrier. They can generally understand you but just don't expect the service here to be great. Good skewer spot that doesn't get crowded and opens late. A menu is placed at the table and you just mark how much of each item you want before handing it in. They give you edamame as an appetizer for the table as you wait for your food. They bring things out as they finish cooking it and it also comes out pretty fast. The skewers are good and seasoned well. The lamb is a bit on the stronger side and also chewier than I prefer. I was disappointed that the fish tofu was cut in half before placed on the skewer so it's actually less. The chicken was juicy and good! They also serve good fried rice, dumplings and beef noodle soup. The beef noodle soup has a very hearty broth and tastes pretty authentic. There aren't big pieces of beef but rather more tendons. Get the scallion pancakes (which is the thick type) and dip it in the soup so it soaks up the yummy broth. Overall, a pretty decent spot for a late night meal. read more

I don't think I would find this location unless you live nearby in the community since there is so much options in Northern Blouverd. There is a bar upstairs so you will see people smoking outside. So we came here because our friend who lives in the community just wanted something more simple and quick. There is a decent options of skewers, cold dishes, fried noodles/rice. For the drinks you just got up to front to get on your own (it will be calculated onto your bill by the waiter). I didn't find anything special with the skewers. It was my first time here we just over ordered. I find one cold dishes pretty interesting which is the cucumber jelly fish dish. It is more tours the spicy side because I bite on some pepper seeds which gave me whole mouth a spicy sensation so I had to stop eating it (I can only take MILD spicy). They also have preserve duck eggs version for people who likes preserve duck eggs! I wouldn't mind coming back for their cold dishes but I think that is basically it. read more

This is literally my favorite place to eat Chinese barbecue. I come here around once a week , and the food is always on point especially the grilled buns. The seasoning is great and everything feels really authentic. The service can be a but rough at times but they're always nice to my boyfriend and I. Nice place but has some problems first I saw that some of the drinks are expired in the fridge and they still sell them also I sometimes see them use their bare hands and make the kababs which is cool but everything stays in one freezer so it's probably cross contaminated. The staff are very attentive and fairly polite. The restaurant itself is a nice cozy clean spot to catch a quick eat, or to settle down and chit chat over some BBQ sticks with friends etc. Prices are good. Overall the food wasn't bad but it also wasn't anything overly special compared to other restaurants in the area that serve similar things. The flavoring was nice (mostly mild spicy so be sure to grab a drink lol) My only complaint was the low quality of the meat used especially with the beef. This is a delicious and convenient skewer spot! It is right by Kissena Blvd and the Q27 bus stops right in front. Like most skewer spots, once you get seated, they give you a menu and pen to mark down what you want and how many you want. The skewers come out as it is cooked, so it is always hot. As an appetizer, they give edamame to chew on before the food comes out, which is great. All the food is prepared quickly and we barely had to wait to start eating. Everything was pretty flavorful and I was very satisfied. They open late in the afternoon, but close in the middle of the night, so if you had a long night out and get hungry, this place will still be available! read more

One of my favorite BBQ place. This place resembles the night life in many Chinese cities. BBQ skewers, beer and cigarettes.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Went here shortly after opening time, ordered our food and were told it might take awhile before the food is ready. No problem, we can wait.... but not an eternity. We waited 40 minutes before asking if the food was almost done yet, and were told it would be another 20 minutes. Why even open if you can't actually prepare any food? The place was empty except for the staff slowly skewering meat. Apparently, the cooks don't prep the grill or ingredients before opening. Owner too cheap to pay staff before opening time? I don't know. Some of these reviews say the staff were attentive, but that was not the case for us. After we were sat down, we were never even offered water, or followed up on for the 40min before my party just left in frustration and ate at the cart around the corner. As a BBQ lover, it is the place. As a Chinese, it is one of a kind Chinese style BBQ. As a northeaster, I think it is the best Dongbei BBQ so far. I am living in CA and now on a business trip. I think I have tried so many BBQs and this one is the best one . The taste is close enough to the original taste I remember. There are so many different of categories you could choose. It's a small place but food here is surprisingly good!! Very very authentic. You place order and they will bring several to you in several rounds (so it's always warm/ hot). Cold dish is the best! For $4-$7 you get a big plate of food (for cold dish). I've been to a lot of Chinese bbq places in flushing and I think this is the best one.
