It seems like they're putting effort into improving and maintaining the quality of their food, which I really appreciate. The flavors were well-balanced, the portions were generous, and everything tasted fresh.

Then i told my families that we should just leave. There's a lot of good korean bbq around there and we all ended up ate at a different korean bbq " SungBookDong BBq" in littleneck. Cuisine: 8 Service: 8…read moreDecor: 6 Value: 8 Overall: 8 For most people, Korean food means BBQ meats over a grill, along with all the small side dishes that come with the meal. However, for most Koreans, a more common meal is often soup based. For those in the know, they are a nation of broth. When I have a craving for Korean soups, this is one of my favorite spots, especially for their beef based soups (menu items #1-6). They are all good, but my usual order is #3, Doseolleongtang (ox bone soup with sliced beef shank & tendon). The shank meat is quite tender, while the tendon has the perfect texture. My second choice is #5 Ggogaltang (oxtail & short rib soup). Other non-beef soups I enjoy here include the #7 Soondaeguk (blood sausage soup) and #8 Daeji Gupbak (pork soup). I do also believe they have a very flavorful #16 Bajiraktang due to an abundance of clams. However, there was some sand the last time we had it. Other than soups, they also make good versions of #30 Jokbal (braised pork shank) and #31 Bossam (boiled pork belly w/ cabbage & radish kimchi). Definitely order one of those items for a group gathering. Maybe also add #33 Dogani Muchim (spicy ox knee tendon salad) or #34 Golbaengi Muchim (spicy sea snail salad) or #39 LA Galbi (marinated beef short rib). Lastly, I have tried their #37 Ojingeo Bokkeum (spicy stir fried squid) as well. Though solid, this is not the place I would get this dish. #22 Goon Mandoo (fried dumpling) is decent and their Kimchi Jeon (kimchi pancake) was crispy but a tad bland. As for service, the owner Tesh and his staff are very friendly. They also are attentive without ever being overbearing. I really appreciate their hospitality and pray they are around for a very long time.

I was craving something different from my usual Korean BBQ and stumbled across this cozy little place serving amazing soup dishes. The Food: 5/5 I ordered their ginseng chicken stone pot soup and it was everything I needed for a cold winter day -- flavorful, rich, and comforting. They started us off with some tasty little pickled radish and sides, which made the wait feel even shorter. Speaking of which, the food came out in about 15- 20 minutes, piping hot and beautifully served in a huge bowl. The Experience: 5/5 The portions were generous -- like, truly bowl-of-happiness level generous -- and the staff was friendly and quick. Prices ranged around $18-$25, which felt totally fair considering the quality and portion size. You could easily come here with family or friends, order a few soups and some pancakes to share, and leave completely satisfied. All in all, this place feels like a comforting hidden gem near Flushing but at the Murray Hill LIRR. Nothing fancy or pretentious -- just really good food, warm service, and cozy vibes. We were a group of 6 and came to Daori for some Korean BBQ. They're located on a residential street but next to several other stores and restaurant. We were surprised to see that they had TV's which was great since the World Cup final was playing. We are told the Iberico pork was the star here. We ordered several other dishes as well. The pork was indeed very good. My only comment was that the waitress seemed very stressed and frazzled. She was stressing about cooking the food and some of it was getting overcooked but also our banchan didn't get refilled because of it. Their English is also not great so there were times when we had a tough time communicating. I would say overall the food was good and we had a good time. It was also very reasonably priced. After tips, it was only $64 per person. We'll definitely come again.

We decided on 3 kimchi stews, thinking these would be more individually portioned but we were so wrong. Each order is massive & could easily serve 2. It's really worth it considering the price, but I thought the stew was kind of mediocre. Having read through other reviews, I had high hopes but was quite disappointed by how the stew lacked depth. The kimchi sourness was kinda there, but despite the large amount of pork & kimchi, there was no real taste to the broth. I did enjoy the tonkatsu here - it was really crispy & the order was massive. The carbonara is a little too heavy for my liking, but tasty for a small bite here and there. Also funny enough, with the restaurant name, I thought we would get cabbage kimchi as a banchan! Service could've been better. While not exactly rude, the guy who was serving us just looked like he was totally over it for the day.

There's 2 waitresses and one busser, but I felt only one of the waitress was pulling the weight, while the other (maybe she's the owner?) mostly chatted with one of the table customers. I felt bad for our waitress she was so busy with fulfilling takeouts + dine ins and the dishes require a lot of servicing table side. She couldn't catch 1 second of break :( Food wise, we got their 2 person combo of spicy pork gamja tang and spicy rice cake which came with the steamed egg. Everything was so good, egg was extra fluffy, rice cake was delicious and the meat came right off the bones. They take a good variety of side dishes. My partner wasn't a fan of the gamja tang but due to feeling it's a hassle to eat meat with bones, so those who fee sim may agree. We also asked for the fried rice after we finished the gamja tang, for 2 servings I think it was $4.75 or something. I really enjoyed it but I guess I like scorched rice, also something my partner doesn't enjoy so those we feel sim just note. Environment feels very old school, well worn. Feels cozy. It can get loud very quickly on a Saturday night as this place seems to be a hit for large parties. Since the wait staff is short handed, expect a bit of a wait for things. Instead of the usual red kimchi, they load it with long strips of green napa cabbage, cut right before your eyes before serving. Some bean sprouts, watercress on top, with tender potatoes, chewy rice cakes, and massive pork bones that fall right off - so meaty and flavorful. Served with a side of sweet mustard sauce. Pure comfort on a cold day. The grilled mackerel was enormous and incredibly plump - way bigger than expected! As an oily fish, it's rich and satisfying, but we barely made it through a third. If you're a mackerel fan like me, it's a must-order. . Banchan were simple and homey: nothing flashy, just solid classics. Bonus: it comes with fluffy steamed egg (jjim) that rounds out the meal perfectly. I can eat an entire bowl of rice with just the steamed egg .
