Friday evening. Was seated quickly. Place was clean. Food was good. Service was good. They cooked the meats for you. Miso soup was a bit too salty. They only came to fill water once. Would return to try other stuff.

Quite night, looks like all new here. Service is great and food is always good. Wish they have more selection of Chicken or Fish as one of my party doesn't eat beef.

I've been coming to Sansoogapsan since I was in middle school, and now, at thirty years old, it remains one of my go-to spots for Korean BBQ. While the restaurant doesn't always get the best ratings, I think that might be because of the inconsistent service, which can be a hit or miss at times. But for me, it's all about the food, and that's where Sansoogapsan shines. The quality of their meats is consistently great, which is why I keep coming back. Whether it's beef or other parts of beef you can always expect well-prepared, high-quality cuts. Their side dishes are also fantastic--especially the yangyum gaejaeng (spicy marinated crab), which is always flavorful, along with their perfectly done steamed eggs and hearty dwenjangjjigae (fermented soybean stew). Despite the mixed reviews, if you're looking for a reliable spot with great BBQ meats and solid side dishes, Sansoogapsan is worth checking out.

Came here about twice, and both times there were speedy service. The servers cook the meat for you, but they do cook pretty fast and to medium rare, so if you want something else (for me I like to eat pretty slow and my galbi cooked REALLY well.. like a little burnt..) you can just speak up and they will adjust to you. Highly recommended the mul naengmyeon to complement the marinated galbi!! Rice is not included with the meal, but steamed eggs and a soy bean paste stew are, as well as various side dishes which vary each time I go + veggies/wraps. When you ask for the check, you get a refreshing cinnamon drink which is a nice finisher to all the flavors that you put into your mouth :D

I've been coming here for years and is the place to go to when it comes to lunch and dinner. My mom and aunts also frequently visit this restaurant as well. They have a variety of dishes like soup, stir-fry dishes and KBBQ. During the summer, I order Bibim Naengmyeon with Kalbi. Other times, I may just want some good old Yukgaejang (Spicy Beef Soup) or Kalbi Tang. Recently, I came here and ordered Yukgaejang while my sister ordered the Yukhwe Bibimbap after leaving my car nearby for an inspection. It seriously hit the spot. Yukhwe Bibimbap consists of seasonrd raw sliced beef, raw egg yolk, assorted veggies, pear, and rice (on the side). They provide red pepper sauce (gochujang) to mix with the dish. It's one of those dishes that people recommend to eat during the winter because it might get spoiled easily. However, when I tried a bite, it was delicious with a mixture of sweet, spicy, and salty. My sister had no regrets. My Yukgaejang was hearty. Thr soup was filled with scallion, shredded beef, cellophane noodle, and egg. Although it says spicy, I did not find it spicy at all. At the end of the meal, they gave a small bowl of a Cinammon Punch drink called Sujeonggwa. Do remember that this is not some fancy restaurant with superior service. You might need to flag down the staff if you want a refill of water. I would probably pass with the different pancakes they offer (seafood and kimchi) aa it's a hit or miss. They also have a lunch special menu that runs from Monday through Friday.

Must try the marinade short ribs is very tender & juicy. Also, the Korean seafood pancake is super duper crispy. The pork combo was normal as well. The service is fantastic, we dine in like an hour before they closed. They didn't rush us n keep refill the side dishes n tea for us.

I always pass by this place & I was finally determined to try it - sucks there are so many bad reviews because I tremendously enjoyed my food. It confirms you can't always go by Yelp reviews alone because everyone's perspective/experience can be so different. OR perhaps they improved their service after all the negativity? Honestly, it was almost overly attentive for me - Granted we went on a Tuesday around 6PM and there were less people than perhaps a weekend. But nonetheless, our server was really kind and consistently offered us guidance on how to eat Korean BBQ but eventually I was like ....I've eaten Korean BBQ a thousand times, we're good. I know how to use the damn lettuce wrap. Ok anyway, I don't care about all that - the biggest reason I'm writing this review is HOLY MOTHER OF BEST KIMCHI JJIGAE EVERRRR!!!! I've never had it taste so f*****g good in my life! For this sole reason I would go back. I almost can't wait for winter so I can have an excuse to eat it more often. (I hate winter) I was that impressed! Seasoned to absolute perfection with a little spicy kick, just the right color & immense freshness. Jesus. So good. SOOOO GOOOOOODDDDDDD!!! Ok, I think I made that painstakingly clear. You get the point. We had beef brisket, also very satisfying & I loved the amount of side dishes that were given. Skipped the soju & had an inexpensive house red that went along with everything just fine. But DO YOU get the point?!? Do not leave this restaurant without trying the Kimchi Jjigae if you generally like eating Kimchi Jjigae. You also have to actually like Kimchi. (Yes, captain obvious, I know.) I will return just to make sure it wasn't a fluke because I seriously can't believe it was that good.

This is my second visit to this established kbbq restaurant, and was quite busy on a Friday evening (as expected). This one has been opened for a while, and I find the environment a bit more chill than some of the newer places that tend to blast kpop or have more trendy menu options. We ordered 2 cuts of beef (skirt and short rib, unmarinated) for the table (you must order one meat dish per person if you do kbbq) which came with the usual cold banchan (kimchi, bean sprouts, other veggies) as well as 2 warm banchan (steamed egg and a cucumber tofu soup), and 2 bowls of rice with dipping sauces, lettuce and scallions. The waitstaff will do all the legwork to cook your meat at the tabletop, and I found the meat to be grilled perfectly, not too over or under done. Both cuts were very good. Expect to pay about $40-50 per person for kbbq (outside of taxes and tip), which is pricey for Queens but pretty on par with Manhattan ktown.

Very good quality meat bbq and very attentive service! Enjoyed an excellent meal - tried the ribeye, tofu soon and the seafood pancake too!

The menu is also very cute and I'm guessing handmade. It was pretty detailed and we appreciated learning about each dish before deciding what to order. We ended up ordering the Kimchi Pancake with seafood, the spicy bulkoki udon and the jeyuk udon. The kimchi seafood pancake was super crispy and filled with squid and shrimp! It also came with a semi sweet dipping sauce that paired nicely. Both udons came out piping hot and fresh! Udon had a nice chew to it, was loaded with vegetables as well as meat for each dish. The egg was fried and did not have a runny yolk. For sides, they gave us 4 things- a tomato salad, kimchi cucumbers, braised string beans, and bean sprouts. The tomato salad came in this cute apple shaped dish but neither of us really cared for it- this is completely biased though since we're not really fans of tomato. What we really did love was the kimchi cucumbers! Also at the end, they served us 3 pieces of cantaloupe which were very sweet. Overall, yummy food, cute shop, and friendly/nice staff! She couldn't catch 1 second of break :( Food wise, we got their 2 person combo of spicy pork gamja tang and spicy rice cake which came with the steamed egg. Everything was so good, egg was extra fluffy, rice cake was delicious and the meat came right off the bones. They take a good variety of side dishes. My partner wasn't a fan of the gamja tang but due to feeling it's a hassle to eat meat with bones, so those who fee sim may agree. We also asked for the fried rice after we finished the gamja tang, for 2 servings I think it was $4.75 or something. I really enjoyed it but I guess I like scorched rice, also something my partner doesn't enjoy so those we feel sim just note. Environment feels very old school, well worn. Feels cozy. A couple of us shared a $13 bottle of the green grape flavor of Chum Churum, a soju. In terms of banchan, there was a bunch. Everyone got a cold and refreshing cabbage soup as well as a very tasty version of Braised Tofu/Dubu-jorim/두부조림. Once we ordered, we also got a bunch of other banchan, including cabbage, radish, and cucumber Kimchi, broccoli and cauliflower Namul, Marinated Mushrooms/Beoseot Bokkeum/버섯볶음, Anchovies With Peanuts/Myeolchi Bokkeum/멸치볶음, and Potato/Gamja Salad/감자샐러드. One of the other things brought out was a pretty tasty version of Raw Soy Sauce Marinated Crab/Ganjang-Gejang/간장게장. Most of these were refillable. The first actual thing that arrived was something that I can't eat, the $22.99 Seafood Pancake/Haemul Pajeon/해물파전. I have a cephalopod allergy, or in other words, anything with tentacles, so I avoid squid and octopus, and seafood pancakes always contain one of those two. Everyone else enjoyed it, though. The pajeon I could eat was the Kimchi Jeon/김치전 for a dollar less. It was pretty tasty, though I prefer other spots that had a bit more of a crisp. Next was one of their signatures, the grilled duck. Going from online reviews, we went with the non-spicy version, as people prefer it, as the spicier marinade overpowers the duck. This was the $29.99 Sang Ori Gui/생오리구이. The sliced duck was on a hot, sizzling plate, with there also being a lot of grilled onions and scallions. The duck had a mix of pieces, ranging from fatty to less so, and had a nice mix of textures. This was easily one of my favorites, though I liked it even more when paired with the ssamjang that arrived with the BBQ, as the sauce balanced the light fattiness. Arriving at a similar time was the last thing I couldn't eat, the Spicy Stir-Fried Baby Octopus on Iron Plate/Jjukkumi Cheolpan Bokkeu/철판쭈꾸비볶음, for $30.99. I couldn't try the octopus, but the portion was plentiful, and I had a bit of the noodles on the bottom after making sure there were no tentacles, as well as trying the sauce. The sauce was tasty, spicy, and very flavorful. We went with two of the Korean BBQ meats, one beef and one pork. My preference of the two was surprisingly the $49.99 Charcoal Grilled Marinated Beef Ribs/Yangnyeom Galbi/양념갈비. This also came with two veggies: kabocha squash and asparagus. The beef was extremely tender, had the perfect mix of fat and meat, and had only a light sweetness from the marinade. This was absolutely delicious and very much worth the price point. Also tasty was the Grilled Pork Belly/Samgyeopsal/삼겹살, for $36.95. This also came with a few things, including cabbage and a large mushroom. The pork belly was delicious, being just fatty enough and very tender as well, with a mild chew. The BBQ came with a few extra side dishes. This included a tasty steamed egg/Gyeran-jjim/계란찜, greens, an onion salad, ssamjang, salt, and a small boiling pot of soybean stew/doenjang jjigae. They were all tasty, though nothing particularly notable outside of the portions being generous. Also, at the end of the meal, they gave us some sujeonggwa. Not much for me to complain about this place. The food was very tasty overall, and the service was wonderful. I would go back and order a full beef BBQ set.
