I called the restaurant and explained and the gentleman who answered the phone told me it was the delivery man's fault, and not the restaurants. My friends and I like to hangout here for Viet food because it's convenient before/after heading to school. It's right next to Omiya Sushi, but it gets a lot of traffic inside especially on brunch/dinner hours. I'm sure it's a family owned establishment, but they can speak Vietnamese, Cantonese, and English. I've seen a guy attempt his Spanish, but it's cool. I do like other dishes like their pho, spring rolls, and curry bread, but my friends and I know I'll often settle with No. 93. Beef cubes over rice is something I can probably eat every time without getting bored. If there's room in my tummy I can probably also get their yummy Rainbow Ice w/ Coconut cream drink. My boyfriend and I walked in on Sunday afternoon and we were seated immediately. While sifting through the menu, I saw people coming in and out consistently for takeout. Must be good, I thought. We started off with Vietnamese spring rolls (#28). Crispy on the outside, warm and flavorful on the inside. We wrapped it in the lettuce, dipped it in the dipping sauce known as nuoc cham and popped it in our mouths. Perfect appetizer to start off your meal, phosho. We both ordered pho. He got #2 (combination special big bowl with beef balls) that came with with rice noodles in beef soup and six different kinds of meat including briskets and tendons. I got #14 (combination rice noodles beef soup with beef balls). One thing about pho is that usually never finish the broth. But never say never.. Cause there wasn't a drop left in my bowl this time. I wiped my bowl clean. Full and satisfied, it was the perfect meal on a brisk, cloudy day. I'll be back to try some of their other dishes next time I'm around the area. read more

I don't know where I've been these past few years, but I've lived in the neighborhood for ages and eons. I've driven by this place a million times and I never tried it. To be honest, I came here by accident. I intended to go to Taco Bell across the street, but decided not to eat there. Since I found a parking spot already, I decided to finally come here. I am so so so glad I did! I usually get my pho fix in 8th ave, Chinatown and Jersey. Most of the pho here sucks and I judge a Viet place by how well they make their spring rolls. Well, you know what. The spring rolls here were off the hook. These were some delicious and amazing spring rolls. I like my spring rolls a certain way and a certain size. They make them here right, the true Vietnamese way. Definitely get the spring rolls here if you are a fan. Don't bother with any of the pho joints in 8th ave and come here. Now, I am not really a fan of pho. I guess I don't really like the noodles or care for the beef. I will eat it though. Now when my bowl of pho arrived, I was a little disappointed because it wasn't pretty and gram friendly. I was proved wrong after I added in the staple condiments and took my first bite. The broth here, mixed with the pho and the beef was perfect. This was some awesome and delicious pho. This place is now my new favorite in NYC pho + spring roll go to spot. My wife had the grilled shrimp with rice noodles, she didn't eat the rice noodles but she just doesn't like eating a lot of rice noodles My SIL had the seafood noodle soup. Good as usual. We also had a serving of cha giao, very good and not too greasy. The tofu with lemingrass was exploding with flavor, we scooped up every last drop of sauce. Weak amount of pho, few pieces of beef, and a salty broth - below expectations, thankfully it wasn't hefty; costs $7. The bright spot was the quick service, though they don't check up on the table until called, got the orders in and out within 15 minutes. The spring rolls made my meal though. A plate of 8 really hits the spot with some vinegar dip - tasty combo. Very disappointed in the pho quality and quantity now, but for spring rolls, they meet the standards. Came in here for a quick snack. This is a very standard Viet place. The decoration is of bamboo, lights, and tables with glass over them. The wait staff is pretty nice. The demographics of the place is more diverse than usual, which is cool, maybe because of its location. The spring rolls, small, set of 4, came fast and piping hot. The skin was a little on the soft/mushy side. The meat was a little soggier than hoped. The combination though was good enough for me. It came with the standard fish oil sauce. I had the classic banh mi with ham, pickled veggies, and parsley. The sandwich was not overflowing with ingredients as I had hoped. The vegetables were also not as pickled as I wanted. Standard Viet restaurant in Bay Ridge, the only one in the area to my recollection along a major corridor, 4th Ave and 86th St., a packed bus transfer, and R-line, so its foot traffic will always be high. Notice the difference in volume compared to the neighboring sushi place. Not to worry, it's good, or as good as I imagine pho to always be consistent. I stop here for my occasional fix of pho or pho with meat balls every week or two or so. I cant comment about anything else on their menu besides the summer rolls, which are good also. As to people's assertions that there's less and less food to go along with higher prices, to each their own. Further exploration of their menu will warrant a future update from me. read more

When I stepped in here, I thought I was back in California, back in Oakland Chinatown, back where I belong. We ordered spring rolls (they call them summer rolls, though, and what I call egg rolls, they call spring rolls), which were some of the best I had ever had. The skin was delicate yet firm, slightly chewy, and each bite was refreshing. We also had vermicelli and one of the combination phos that included tripe, tendon, and some other stuff I can't remember. Vermicelli was fantastic in both taste and texture, and the broth and ingredients in the pho were incredibly flavorful. I love how the menu is written in random English too. Our pho, for example, contained 'round of eye.' To this day, I have no idea what that means, but that hardly matters. My round of stomach is satisfied and that's all I care about! It looks like they have a lot of other stuff you can order to-go too and their sit-down selection is fairly large. This spot brings back lots of memories. I remember coming here after classes on late nights for dinner. Their soup noodles have always been a comfort during cold winter night. My experience here was a lot worse this time. We ordered some Summer Rolls. When you smell it...it smells like stinky feet. Am I eating stinky tofu?? The hot and sour fish soup wasn't hot at all. Just warm. It did have a nice sweet sour taste to it. I wasn't expecting salmon in the soup. I don't think it fits well in a soup. In this soup there was a long strain of hair in it..smh!! The staff are suuuper friendly and considerate. I came here with my friend who isn't Asian and two members of the staff (the waitress and the server) asked her if she would like a fork. Of course my friend knows how to use chopsticks but it was still very nice of them to ask nevertheless. My friend has never been in a Vietnamese restaurant before so she basically just had what I had, which was Tai and a hot coffee with condensed milk. The tai was very filling, and its not like it was completely flavorless so I have no complains. Payment: Unlike MOST Asian places, I'm so glad that they DO accept Credit Cards and there is no minimum fee. My boyfriend and I happened to be in the Bay Ridge area about a month ago, running errands. It was lunch time and we were both really hungry so we decided to visit and eat Pho Hoai. The staff here are pretty nice. Vietnamese Ice Coffee - the way that it was served at Pho Hoai was definitely new and different. I had a little trouble pouring the hot coffee into my glass of ice. I definitely would have preferred it all served in a glass just ready to go. Vietnamese Spring Rolls - we almost always order this in any Vietnamese meal. They were very crunchy, hot, and delicious when we had them. Pho Xe Lua - my boyfriend always orders this whenever we have Vietnamese food. He said the noodle soup was alright, but not the best he's had. Bun Cha Gio Bo Lui (grilled beef and spring roll with sesame seasoned lettuce on rice vermicelli) - this was my lunch and I really enjoyed it. The beef wasn't overcooked which I was really glad about. Spring rolls were crunchy and yummy. I was super hungry so this noodle dish really hit all the right spots. I wouldn't say this experience was extravagant cause it feels just as like any standard Vietnamese restaurant. The food is standard, but ambiance and atmosphere doesn't feel as lively as it should be. This is our favorite spot to have Vietnamese cusine in the area. We've been coming here for a couple of years and I've never had anything less than amazing experience. They're food is always good and they're customer service is always consistent and approachable. We order Bo luc Lac which beef cubes marinated in a brown sauce over lettuce comes with a side of white rice. The sauce is so good. My favorite part is when it's wilts the lettuce it so tasty. The meets is very tasty and tender each time. We also order the crispy spring rolls that comes in a light sauce with carrot shredded. Summer rolls was good like most places, can't really go wrong when you just drench it in peanut sauce like I do. The pho? Visually it looked like your genetic bowl of pho with the raw beef sitting on top. The broth smelled real good so I was excited. Tasting the broth, something was off. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad but I just expected more of a powerful taste since the sound gave me high expectations. My friend noticed it too so it wasn't just me. I have been their regular for years. Eat in all the time in spite of their B review .... Depending on who is serving, sometimes it's gross. They'll have part of their finger in your Pho broth. Overall food was decent and fairly priced so kept going. I used to get the beef with lettuce wrap. then realized chicken is healthier so started ordering their chicken instead and wrapped in lettuce. First few times lettuce was free. Then they realized they can make money off me and started charging me $2.00 for lettuce.
