Finally got a chance to try this pho place after several years. SW corner of Victoria and Kingsway. The reason why this one is so difficult is because they have crazy short hours. Basically lunchtime only. I have no idea how they stay in business. Parking is available on Victoria, as well as the side streets. Spots are also available on Kingsway, but watch the signs (no parking during afternoon rush hour). The inside is pretty bare bones. Almost looks like they're still moving in. Staff are a bit stretched out. Basically a mom and pop. They don't have physical or QR menus here. They basically have chicken/beef pho paired with regular/spicy soup, and ice coffee. That's it. 5 items total including the drink. This has to be the smallest menu I have seen at any local Vietnamese place (the previous record that comes to mind is 6 food items at another place on Kingsway). Buddy and I had a good laugh. Talk about keeping things simple. The chicken pho here is bone-in. Something to keep in mind. Meat was pretty juicy. Spicy soup had a bit of heat but nothing crazy. Special mention to the bowl size. The bowls here are big. Reminds me of Pho Super Bowl in Burnaby. With that said, the pho here is also a few bucks more. Ice coffee comes already made, as in they use a press. No need to wait for the slow drip, which is nice. Hit the spot. Wouldn't mind coming back, though the short hours sure make it difficult.

Definitely a Vietnamese local hot spot! This place is cash only and has only 2 menu items: chicken pho and beef pho (~$20 each). I opted for the chicken pho which was massive! It was large enough to share between 2 people. The chicken was a bit hard to eat given it was both white and dark meat on the bone. But the flavour of the broth was creamy and delicious! The service was very fast but be prepared to wait in line outside even though they have plenty of spots inside.

Hole in the wall unassuming spot on the corner of Kingsway & Victoria Dr. They take cash only. They only open during lunch hours. They close on certain days. Your choices are: Chicken or Beef? Spicy or not spicy? You can order an iced coffee if you want or drink the provided tea. ....and it's great! Food comes out piping hot in a bowl larger than your face, it's delicious and you leave full. If you opt for take out it's easily 2-3 portions at home per order - make sure to get the noodles not fully cooked so when you heat up the soup and noodles together they get to the right consistency. Remember to tip!

No frills place with only two menu options -- chicken or beef! I got the chicken and got it spicy. The noodles have a really great bite to it. The broth was mild and clean. I would go back to try the beef!

This is your typical 'hole in the wall.' This is the reason I move around with peeps familiar with East Vancouver. I wouldn't know where to go or what to order without them. Pho Duy has no hard copy menu ... ok then!? It's cash only! Limited seating inside. Please note the hours of business - 1030am to 230pm. They will close before 230pm if they sell out! Only menu items - beef or chicken Pho. Get either of them spicy. I loved my Spicy Beef Pho. Made my taste buds tingle with delight. The broth is top notch! Huge bowl full of Pho, I had to take some home. Service was prompt & good - how can it not be with only 2 items up for offer!?! LOL.

Solo-ed in for a quick lunch. This was past 145pm on a snow day. At 55% capacity. I was directed to sit facing twelve o'clock at the cashier, 1 o'clock is the mens washroom and at 9pm my elbow was touching a pile of boxes. I can only do so much to not look around and read from my phone and have ear buds in. There were a long table empty. With many tables finishing up. I made my order and then later asked if I can hop tables, which she had no issues. This is my 2nd time ordering chicken pho. I truly enjoyed it the first time (I shared tabled the first time with a solo diner). Why the low score the last time. The food served to me that day was interesting*, how does one get 3 wish bones in one bowl, 90% of the pieces of chicken looked skilfully missing the best bite. All the pieces of chicken looked like it's been swimming in a pot for a long time all banged up. When I know it's not suppose to be. I got a 3rd tier bowl of pho that day. Usually I can look past establishments that are not aesthetic, however my flashbacks of the towel that smells fungal for wipe downs. The oily spoons from the chilli pots or grimy spoons of the salt jar. Other establishments have come to neutral standard and beyond with similar layout. I can't come in remedying with spray alcohol or wet wipes for this pho anymore esp with the service, quality control and lack of cleanliness anymore.

This unassuming phở shop is hands down the best value I've found in the GVA, and a classic example of a 'slept-on' hit. Their premise is so straightforward there's not even a menu. You get asked two questions: 1) beef or chicken, and 2) spicy or not spicy. Thats it. A few minutes later youll be tucking into a bowl of soup bigger than your head. It is definitely southern-style phở, so keep that in mind. The broth tends to be a bit on thr sweeter side compared to northern phở. While the decor isnt much to look at, it does give it a very homey charm, as if youre coming into someone's living room to share a meal with them. I think this vibe fits perfectly with a warm, comforting bowl of soup. Staff can be a bit brisk, but lets face it, customer service isnt why you come here: lots of food, fast, cheap and tasty is

Unassuming little restaurant on the corner of Kingsway and Victoria Street. No menu: only pho (chicken or beef and spicy or non-spicy) and coffee. I don't mind restaurants like this cause they have a real focus. I requested spicy beef and my friend took the spicy chicken and we added ice coffee. For the spiciness, we requested mild and it was just perfect for me. After a few bites and spoonsful of soup, I was in my happy place. The soup was light and savoury but with hints of sweetness poking out. Our bowls were filled to the top with soup, onions, green onions and a good amount of meat and rice noodles. My only down side, the beef slices were cooked well and not rare and the rice noodles were clumpy until I used my chopsticks to loosen them. My friend really enjoyed her chicken pho (the chicken was so tender and reminded me of the Hainanese style) and lots of chicken. A side plate of beansprouts and basils also provided. The ice coffee was strong and very sweet which was ok for me but too sweet for my friend who asked for more water to dilute. The coffee was served in a plastic cup and hope one day they will be served in a glass since we are eating in and to be sustainable. Looks like a family run business and everyone were friendly and helpful. In speaking to the gentleman, I was informed their pho style is from Saigon. I would come back to try the chicken. Cash Only.

This is your cash only, mom and pops restaurant. One server for everyone, 2 items on the menu they are one of the best pho and Vietnamese ice coffee place in vancouver. Clean but very simple setting. Pho is good portion for $19.00. You will be filled up, weather you order chicken or beef the bowl is full of meat. Table comes with salt and pepper pre mixed, hoisin and sriracha and chilli oil. They serve hot or cold tea. Casual chill dining experience, I recommend this place

This family run pho restaurant at the corner of Kingsway and Victoria is definitely one of the most interesting restaurant I've ever been. It is because it's a no menu restaurant! You will only find two things on the menu, which is chicken and beef pho. I of course will get the beef pho because I love beef pho. I also got a Vietnamese iced coffee. This is probably the thickest Vietnamese coffee I ever had. I do think the flavor is good, however the texture was way too thick and even the ice melted it still felt a bit too thick. The beef pho I had was good. There are a lot of meat in it. The beef broth is very light yet still flavorful. Although everything I had was good I still do not think it's that good to the point I will come all the way and visit again.

Finally tried this restaurant for the first time. I live in the area and always wondered about this place . They only open from 10:30 am - 2:30 pm. It's a hole in the wall but so good! They only serve 2 items on the menu. Beef or Chicken pho in spicy or non-spicy. The portion size is generous. The flavour of the broth was really good- not overloaded with msg like a lot of places in the area. This might be my go to pho place going forward. Price is $17 ( taxes included). Cash only which isn't a surprise .

One of the best pho in town. Bad service bad ambience pay with cash but the pho is good and authentic with very saturated pho broth. Definitely recommended for gettiny pho in town. Cheers!

I can't believe this is the first time ever going here. Simple, two item menu. You can also get it spicy, which I recommend. We got the spicy beef. .. and o.m.g. Such a delicious tasting broth. You can taste the lemon grass in it. I didn't need to add anything to the broth. They were super nice and friendly, and it's a quick turn around. I would suggest to come early cause they do sell out fast !! We got there at 1:30 and they were sold out of chicken already. We will be back, apparently every week my partner says. Lol

The space is much nicer, with high ceilings and lots of light - great looking bistro. I ended up trying the following: - Mussels: Very good. Classic dish, but I really like the use of cream in the broth. - Bánh Mì Cay Hải Phòng (Spicy Baguette Sticks): Good. A nice little snack, although it would be easy to recreate at home. - Lamb Chops: Very good. Cooked just right, and the pepper sauce added extra flavour. - Fried Frog Legs: Very good. This was probably the surprise dish for me. They weren't just the legs, but the entire bottom of the frog, so the pieces were huge. The garlic, butter and chili flakes gave it a extra punch. I really enjoyed this one. - Pho Bo: Good. Not the best pho I've had, but it's good enough to stand on it's own. Service was quite good. Very cheerful and quite attentive. Overall a nice meal. It's a great space, the food is solid, and service to match. What I really like is having the variety of both French and Vietnamese dishes, without either of them suffering in quality. Only downside is that is it expensive for what you get.

The broth was a little sweeter than I personally prefer, but it was very clean, clear, and flavorful. This is what I look for in a good bowl of pho. The noodles were cooked perfectly and had a nice soft texture. I ordered a combination bowl. My only suggestion would be a bit more of tripe and tendon. The tripe was a little sparse, and I honestly didn't realize I had tendon until I was almost finished with the bowl. But I like those, and not a lot of people do. Despite the restaurant being packed, the staff was stayed attentive, kept food coming out quickly, and did a great job taking care of everyone. The atmosphere was casual and welcoming. There was a nice mix of people. Some quietly watching videos on their phones, others catching up over conversation. It felt like the kind of neighborhood spot that attracts everyone. Overall, this is a convenient, affordable place with good pho and generous portions. If I'm in the area again, I'd definitely come back. .
