Apparently this place was use to be in Coquitlam, and it was shut down due to a fire, and currently being rebuild. The new location is in Richmond near the Richmond Oval, across where T&T use to be. The space is pretty big, and clean, with around 10 tables spaced out. There's definitely room to put in more tables, but I think they want to test it out. Everything on the menu looks delicious. We ordered No.9 on the noodle soup, with eye round steak, well-done brisket, fatty brisket, soft tendon & beef tripe, and a couple of spring rolls. The price is very reasonable, within $20 for a bowl of pho, and there was also a 10% off for the soft opening, The broth is rich and tasty, however on the salty side. I would suggest to squeeze the lime into the broth to balance out the salty taste. Portion is pretty big as we couldn't finish in one go. I like how clear the broth is, and a lot of meat it comes with. It's well balanced. The rice roll is made out of rice paper, instead of the spring roll paper. Be aware that it's going to be sticky on your teeth, haha. I personally not a fan, but I know it's authentic. The service was pretty good, a little slow since it just opened, but the servers are nice and friendly. It's a family business, and they all use to work in the Coquitlam location. Visiting Vancouver on a business trip and was hungry for Pho. I ordered the #9, some spring rolls, and a coffee with condensed milk. The pho broth was very flavorful without adding anything in it. The portion of pho was really big and super filling with lots of noodles. The spring rolls were also very big and had a decent amount inside of them. Our coffees were to die for. They literally tasted like a sweet treat. Overall I would definitely come back when in Vancouver. The staff and service were great and very fast. Definitely recommend. read more

If you are looking for something aside from Korean food along north road - look no further - Pho Capital to the rescue ! Service can be a little delayed - however after the order is taken the food arrives a lot quicker. Vermicelli was delicious - however the spring roll didn't provide enough of a crunch - the meat in the bowl was marinated well. Pho was a bit underwhelming - the brother was a tad salty , however nothing a little hot sauce wouldn't fix :) I don't recall hearing any music in this place - or if there was , it was very low volume - you can easily have a conversation in here -. Ordered the Lemongrass vermicelli chicken bowl with Shrimp. Sent it back 2x . First brought out a Rice plate not vermicelli, second time brought out beef dish not chicken. Also ordered a shrimp salad roll came out ham. Sat there while my hubby ate his soup. His fried spring roll came out mushy. The food came out randomly as in 1st dish was a plate of bean sprouts with fresh mint then came the main meal fiasco then came the appetizers came out after the main meal. Decent Pho in the North Road area. Parking is available in the strip mall lot. The inside is fairly modern. Looks like a family run place though I can't say for sure. Staff are friendly. The seafood pho had good broth, and contained prawns and strips of fake crab. Portions are a bit smaller than the competition. Hit the spot though. read more

Pho restaurants are almost the same, but this store made me wanted to come back every time for their spring roll. Their spring roll is packed with delicious ingredients that every bite makes you wanted to have some more. Their fried tofu is super delicious too but I wish it was a bit thicker. The house special pho I had I find the noodle was over cooked a little bit but overall still delicious. With the weather in Vancouver sometimes this kind of dish will keep your tummy warm. Family own business so sometimes the service might be a little slow but generally not bad. Hope you guys will enjoy this place like I do! read more

I've been back to Pho Capital at least 6 to 7 times now and they're not 5 stars anymore. Too bad because it was my go to pho place out in Coquitlam. Portions are smaller, place is not kept as spotless as it once was, service was still good though. This is still a decent place, but not as it once was. read more

I came here as a recommend from my bro-in-law. Him and his family's been here a few times and apparently, it's the best one in town. And he was right! Coming from Richmond, I thought it would be a so-so at best, but it's definitely got a lot of the Richmond Pho places beat! A small, cozy place, about 10 tables. Friendly and efficient service. So efficient, the server didn't even write anything down when she was taking our order and got them all right for a table of 8. Impressive. After running out of places in the South Burnaby and New Westminster area to eat, I've been gradually expanding my range to areas around the Burnaby/Coquitlam border. This area is primarily known for having lots of Korean restaurants but I wasn't really in the mood for Korean so I stopped by Pho Capital. Like most restaurants in this area, Pho Capital is located in a rather nondescript mini mall. The restaurant wasn't very busy during my visit around noon on a weekday but I'm not sure if things pick up later in the day. I ordered the #14 Pho Noodle Soup with Eye of Round Steak, Fatty Beef Brisket, Soft Beef Tendon, and Beef Tripe ($8.50 for a small bowl) also known as Pho Tai, Gau, Gan, Sach. Almost immediately after placing my order, the waitress was back at my table with my meal and a plate of bean spouts, basil, lime wedge, and jalapeño slices. The pho was topped with a couple of pieces of rare beef (something that I look forward to when having pho). Underneath, there were plenty of thinly shaved pieces of brisket and a few pieces of tendon and tripe. The broth was pretty good and I think I'd come back to try some of their other items. As it turns out, I came back about 4 months later and ordered the Marinated Lemongrass Pork Slices and Fried Spring Roll with Veggies ($11.75) or Bun Thit Nurong, Cha Gio. The crispy spring roll was made with a wonton wrapper and the bowl was fairly big (with lots of shredded cabbage underneath). By itself, it lacked a bit of flavour but it was easy enough to kick things up a notch with the tableside sauces. As with my last noodle soup here, the Bun Bo Hue ($10.99 for large) which I ordered at the end of the year, came out really quick. Interestingly, while I was hit with the aroma of this soup as soon as it arrived at my table, it wasn't overly spicy and I resorted to the table sauces to kick it up a notch. In the bowl, there's thin slices of ham, well-done flank, and chunks of chicken balls. The thick, rounded noodles were pretty good and had a nice chew to the bite. On my last visit, I decided to opt for the Marinated Grilled Lemongrass Chicken and Pork Chop on Rice ($12.75) which I found to be okay but a bit dry. Similar to lemongrass pork, there was a lack of flavour which required the use of the tableside sauces. Overall, a fairly no-nonsense Vietnamese establishment with somewhat muted flavours. I'm a simple girl when it comes to Pho, I just want good beef strips and meatballs in a nice rich broth. This place was recommended by a few friends and now my favourite in the TriCity area. What I love about their meat is that the eye round steak is always nice and tender, never stringy or fatty. (I'm not a big fan of chewy veiny meat.) The soup is flavourful and I always remember to get a side of their crispy spring roll. I've also had a chance to try their vermicelli bowl which was perfect and light for summer day, but I still prefer their noodle soup dishes. I had their beef stew with bread and crispy spring rolls. Spring rolls were good - crispy, came out hot. Beef stew just amazing though. Broth was flavorful but not too complex. Nice and steamy. We've been on a MAJOR pho kick. We have had pho and banh mi at least 4 times in the last two weeks. Last weekend we hit Pho Capital and were blown away. Not only was the rare beef the most tenderest ever (yes, I did just make up a word to describe it!) but the broth was extraordinarily fresh, flavorful and delicate, without being salty. The grilled pork banh mi was tender, yummy, and perfectly balanced. The service was quick and friendly... As I'm writing this review I am craving the delicious chicken ball pho (#18) that I had at Pho Capital a few days ago. I was sick with a cold and it made me feel SO much better. Not to mention the serving size was HUGE - the small bowl I got was the size of a large at other places, and the large my friend ordered was just gigantic. It was busy when we went there but the service was really quick and the little old man who served us was super friendly. Prices are very decent for the portion size. We were back to Pho Capital recently for lunch. It was just after 11 am, and we were seeking some tasty, but "on the lighter-side" fare. This fine little Vietnamese restaurant was just 'the' place for our cravings. We (couple) shared their three appetizer offerings: - #50 - fried chicken wings (Canh ga) - 8 pieces - and perfect!! crispy outside, tender, and juicy inside. Yum! - #52 - fried rolls (Cha gio) - 2 pieces, light and crispy covering, and light-flavoured dipping sauce -- served whole (Yea!), not cut into pieces, as done in many Vietnamese restaurants - very flavourful, and tasty. - #53 - salad rolls (Goi cuon) - 2 pieces, thin rice paper coverings, with tasty insides, and peanut (dipping) sauce -- our first taste of such rolls - sure enjoyed them, and that flavourful dipping sauce. It was fun to get back to Pho Capital, and our lunch dining experience was just what we were looking for, and needed. This place is great - in fact, I come here about 1-2 times per week for lunch. So far, I've only ordered the Pho, but I have plans to change that soon and try some of their Vietnamese subs and their lemongrass chicken. During my first few visits, I tried about 3 or 4 different types of Pho until I found the one I like best (no. 3). Now when I go in, the staff know exactly what I want and I don't even have to ask, it's perfect! The broth is very tasty, always very hot and the perfect amount of sides to go with it. Came here for pho because it was close to our hotel but wish we drove out further. The pho is pricey ($8.50 for a small) and portion size was tiny. Not sure if I'm just unfamiliar with average Vancouver pricing but it seemed pricey to me. The broth was meh. Got chicken Wong's too. Deep fried wings can never go wrong. Wings were a bit on the small side but they were good especially dipped in the fish sauce and spices. Ordered summer roll, $4.50 for two rolls! Rolls were wrapped nicely but the contents were not well balanced. There was a lot of noodles in the roll, not enough herbs, and very thin slices of shrimp. Pho Capital is a really nice find in the North Road area of Coquitlam. We stopped by on a Friday night and the place wasn't very busy. I agree with the other reviewers about the cleanliness: everything seemed new and very clean. We ordered: Fried chicken wings: these wings were pretty small, but very good. They give you a salt and spice mixture to dip the wings in (not spicy at all), and you should definitely dip them in there. #10 Pho: eye round and fatty brisket (small for $7): I really liked the broth in this dish. I got the small version, and the bowl was pretty big. The quantity of meat was a little light: next time, I will order a side dish of meatballs. Chicken pho: again, the small bowl is around $7 and pretty big. Compared to the beef pho, it was a little bland (breast meat), but not bad. Dinner for two came to less than $25 including tip. Besides being close to home, I really like the fact that they had their own parking lot that was relatively easy to get in and out of North Road (if you are heading south on North Road, just cross Lougheed Highway and take the first left turn lane to go into this strip mall next to Wings). I got the bun bo hue and thought it was average. It definitely doesn't have the red colour I was looking for when it came out. I feared that it wasn't going to be spicy but it had a bit of a kick to it. Also instead of pork blood and the pork knuckle I got Vietnamese ham and chicken balls (this one is a first). It wasn't bad but not quite what I was expecting. I got a small and I think it was around $8.99 which is pricier than what I'm used to as well. I also tried their vietnamese coffee which I have no complaints about. The food came out fast so that's a plus. read more

Despite the name being Pho Capital, I was tempted away from pho and instead ordered the chicken and pork lemongrass vermicelli. I can happily say that it was delicious! The meat was well seasoned and the portion size was good. Some of the meat was a little fatty/chewy but it did not effect the flavour or overall experience very much. read more

Came here last week for lunch as it was quite highly rated in the area on good ol Yelp. Got here just before the lunch rush. A number of tables got in after us. I got my usual pho tai that I get from pho establishments. I found the pho about average, but the noodles definitely on the mushier side unfortunately. They also serve lemons rather than limes. Service was okay. It seems like it's a mom and pop place so it looked like only one person worked the floor. There is parking in the complex, but if it's full you would be hooped because there is no street parking. read more

Did a search for other pho places close to my house and found Capital was one of the highest rated ones within a 10 minute drive. I got my usual every meat (#15) with extra beef balls and my girlfriend got the #3, brisket with rare beef. The broth was very rich and flavorful. A little too rich. I'm used to a little grease in my pho - that's where the flavor comes from, but there was a LOT of grease in this broth. I bumped my bowl reaching for something and some soup sloshed out. At the end of the meal, the table was very, very greasy. The salt content must have been pretty high too because I was thirsty thirsty THIRSTY for the rest of the afternoon. We also had the fried rolls. My first bite was a bit off-putting. It was mostly fried wrapper with some rubbery mushrooms in it. Granted, the rest of the roll (and the second one) tasted much better. Probably won't order these again though. I'll likely have the soup again to see if it was a one-off being so salty and greasy. Even if it isn't, it was still pretty tasty. :-) read more

Loved it. Found this place after a long day of work being very hungry. Its small, buried in a retail strip and is nothing fancy. I was warmly greeted and had great service. Fresh spring rolls were large and had plenty of pork and shrimp. Then had the rice plate with some of the best Vietnamese BBQ pork I have ever had with fresh vegetables and a cup of fish sauce. Staying at the nearby Executive Suites, we wanted a healthy, delicious lunch so we stretched our legs and walked five minutes to this restaurant. Luckily, we went before noon, because after that, the place was full. Oddly, none of us had pho. My 12-year old had the lemon grass marinated chicken with rice and he liked it. Normally he is not a fan of chicken thighs, but the taste was so good he went for it. Have you anyone ever wonder if youre eating fresh food? And you dont eat from anyone's left over? Well think twice. My girlfriend and i went to this place today and we were sitting across their dirty dish station (where they stock dirty s Plates and such). My girlfriend noticed that when the server try to empty the plates from a table, she didnt empty the bean sprout plate. She brought it to the back, added more to the plate, kinda splash it with water.. and served it to us... That was mind blowing... isnt it? How is this sanitary? My girlfriend asked the server what her procedures are in reguards to left over bean sprot.. The server said that if theres left over, and customers pushes it to the side, it means they didnt touch it. they just add more to it, and serve it to the next table/customer.. This is very disappointing as we always come here as the food is good. However, after knowing this sanitary issue. We're going to stop coming here. Be the judge. I have been here a few times before with no real complaints. I went in today and ask for chewy noodles and they brought me slightly over done noodles, they also brought us the wrong pho but tried to convince me that's what I ordered. I didn't want to complain and argue too much as it's very difficult to communicate with people that are ESL. The broth was super hot which is a bonus in my books but it was waaaaayyyy too much msg. I was dying of thirst afterwards ....dying I tell ya ! The spring rolls were not very good, they were extremely greasy almost like they deep fried them 2x so the oil seeped right through..again I didn't complain. I normally would but it's pointless with the English barrier. They brought us the wrong pho, we ordered 2 number 1 and they brought us 2 number 2's....tried to explain to them but it was useless. When the bill came they charged us $19.98 for 2 large pho. 9.50x2= $19.00 They quickly changed the bill for us, beware and look at your bill.
