The ambiance was also decent. They were playing a soothing Studio Ghibli piano playlist in the background, which made for a really relaxing environment to sit in. I ordered the P4 (Pho Tai Nam). Very solid veggie pho with a satay peanut option, though not the cream of the crop for Vancouver/Burnaby. I stopped in for lunch during week and ordered a large Pho Chay ($14.50; small is $13.50), and modified the broth to be satay peanut (+$1.50). My soup came out in 5 minutes, with a very generous of vermicelli, some fried tofu, and mixed veggies (broccoli, carrot and loads of cabbage). The broth was rich, lightly spicy, and amply salty, but perhaps without the complexity that some other satay peanut broths have. The veggies were a little overcooked as well; the broccoli and cabbage especially, having lost their crispness. All in all, solid spot, slightly on the pricy side but still reasonable. I'd return if I were in the area but wouldn't come out of my way to eat here again with so many awesome pho spots in town that have veggie options, as well as satay peanut broths. read more

Inside is modern and quite new, like the rest of the building. P2 Pho d'lite beef - got a bit of everything. Large is a decent sized portion. Nice light soup. Beef bits are fresh. Pho toppings are also fresh. A2 spring rolls - skins are regular and not fluffy. Length is fine but girth is a little lacking. Dipping sauce isn't the most fishy. Half decent but nothing special. A3 garlic butter chicken wings - the entire plate was only drumsticks. Drumsticks are baby sized. These have to be the smallest ones I have seen in any restaurant, including the ones at wings nights at pubs. Totally not worth the money. Knock 1 star off. Served with some salt and sugar in a dish as well as some shredded lettuce. Overall I may come back for the pho, but the appetizers are disappointing. read more

Standard Vietnamese pho restaurant, nothing special IMHO. I had a large P7 (rare beef and beef ball pho) and enjoyed it. My friend had E4 (beef and carrot stew), I tasted the broth and it had a nice satay-like flavour to it. Both had plenty of noodles and a good amount of meat. I was profiled and given water instead of tea, without asking me. I actually prefer tea while eating. The garnish provided was basil and lime, but no beansprouts?? I ordered a salad roll and never got it (but at least was not charged for it). There were only 2 of us and the lady memorized the order, I'm guessing she just forgot to ring it in. My kids always crave for pho and honestly my mom makes THE BEST in the city (not biased cuz that's the only thing she is good at). Lmao We came here yesterday for lunch and were allowed to seat anywhere in the restaurant. Isn't that great? There were two tables already. We ordered the beef pho, chicken pho, and a salad roll. I wasn't hungry but I still tried some. I noticed that the pho's broth was a little on the salty side but they were very generous with the noodles. The pho ga (chicken pho) was kinda weird because anywhere you eat, they would chopped up a real chicken and give you the pieces. In this case, it was just pho and what my son said "they chopped up the lemongrass chicken and put it in." Don't get me wrong. He still enjoyed it but I don't think it's the traditional way to make pho ga. My salad roll was boring. I don't like how they put in Vietnamese ham instead of real pork. It is also right next to Whole Foods and a BC Liquor Store with plenty of parking in front of the store for customers who drive. The service was prompt and attentive. I've only had the veggie pho which was great and had lots of veggies in it but what really takes the cake is the fact they can serve me a soft egg on the side. Pho D'Lite or (Delight) is located at the new Solo DIstrict of North Burnaby which is diagonally across from Brentwood Town Centre. It is a small restaurant that can sit around 30-40 people at most. This will be a place for me if I suddenly had the craving for pho and I needed to rush down there to fill up on the beefy goodness. When I come down here, I would usually get the Pho Tai which is the rare beef slices with rice noodle soup. If I calculated how fast they serve the food, it would probably take 20 seconds just because the rice noodles cooked al dente will take a minimum 6 seconds to cook in boiling hot water. Add in some slices of beef and pour in the broth and ding! You get the fastest record of serving pho in the world. The beef broth which I noticed had a stronger hint of star anise because the broth definitely had a taste of licorice. The noodles were cooked al dente and beef was on the borderline between eating hard and soft. Given that this is a pho restaurant which is surprisingly the only one available around this area, it has not been experiencing any type of competition with other pho restaurants. They also serve rice dishes and other Vietnamese delicacies like chicken wings and flan. I would honestly recommend coming here if you are craving or your pho meter is empty. read more

While enjoying my first couple of bites, I notice the male server PICKING HIS NOSE at the cash register. The server and I both made eye contact while he digged for gold !! I come here once every few weeks as I work in the area. At lunch hour, there's always a rush after 12pm so try to get there early, or a little later. The pho is standard. It's clean and doesn't leave me feeling thirsty like a lot of MSG-filled pho places. I always get the normal soup base. I've also tried the vermicelli bowls. I like to get three ingredients with it, as it's most value for money. The salad rolls are OK. They could also be a little more generous with the basil on the side - I always have to ask for more. If you're in the area looking for a quick fix, it will work. The improvement I'd like to see here is the service. It's usually quite hard to wave someone's attention down. read more
