I ordered the crab special noodles and was pleasantly surprised by the use of tomatoes in the broth. It was so delicious I drank the bowl empty at the end. Definitely worth the trip out to meet friends for dinner here oh and the deep fried dumplings were amazing - great crispness on the outside with juicy and well seasoned filling! I have not been to this restaurant for a very long time. Usually, I am not into visiting chain restaurants, but I was pleasantly surprised at the menu offerings. There were newer items I have not seen at many restaurants like crab pho and fall off the bone beef rib pho on this side of the bridge. I was not super hungry and ordered a salad roll. The roll was made with shrimp and Vietnamese ham. No complaints on the salad roll itself. The peanut sauce was a bit watery. I would have preferred a stronger peanut flavour. Service was great. We got our food within 5 minutes of placing our order. I was so impressed at the speed. Restaurant was spacious, tidy and looked like it had been updated within the past few years. I've come to Pho 99 a few times over the years and they never disappoint. The food is always hot, tasty, fresh, and delicious no matter what you order. No matter the dish, you won't be disappointed. I'm a tremendous fan of the broth When my bf and I came here for lunch today, we stood in the doorway waiting to be greeted and although servers stood behind the counter, they made no effort to come towards us by the door waiting. No "seat yourself" signs were visible that we could see so after noticing one of the servers point to the side of the restaurant, we took a place in the corner. When the server came up after about 2 mins of sitting down to take our order (very quick!) we promptly ordered our dishes and waited for their arrival while we sipped our water. As always, it was dropped at the table very fast because they clearly always have stock ready to go. I ordered #20 - spicy, with nice noodles and meatball, as well as some well done brisket. When mine came to the table, she promptly spilled it when placing it down, thankfully not hitting me, and quickly grabbed some new napkins for me to clean it. She was very pleasant but seemed very nervous, for some reason... or shy. Perhaps both. She was nice and I didn't mind the spill overall, because it didn't hit me! ;) Overall Pho 99 has delicious food, a clean interior, lots of rotating customers, fresh product, and a nice relaxed environment. If I am correct, this place and Bubble World are the only 2 Asian restaurants in Surrey that opens until 11pm or later? Anyways, tried out various locations of this chain, some were decent and some were like how come I don't learn to love my tummy more. Here were what we ordered; 1. Vietnamese Iced coffee with condensed milk (slow drip). It was okay but I asked the waitress if it comes with the whole gears and slow dripped at my table cause I preferred it that way, she said yes but instead came in a take out cup. Maybe there was a miscommunication lol or she thought I was saying I was slow. 2. Tofu dessert. It was okay, it was the cold version came in a take out cup. I should've asked before ordering this one cause I preferred the Chinese fresh hot version. Oops 3. Fish cake with ground pork vermicelli soup. A very generous portion and the soup came hot so that was good but lacking a bit in the tasty department. 4. #14 Pho on the menu, pretty much the house special. The soup was hot but the noodles were a bit over cooked and the beef briskets were like chewing on leather. They were fatty brisket, I don't what they did to it but it was rubbery. Overall, this restaurant chain has been around for quite awhile now. If you are in the Surrey area and don't want to cruise too far for a hot bowl of soup or a rice dish late at night then this place is okay to come to. However if you enjoy a night cruise then I suggest head out cause there are better options in the Burnaby and Vancouver area. read more

Pho 99 is a chain but out of several ones I've been to, this is one of the best ones. Not only do they open until midnight everyday so you can satisfy your late night pho cravings but this location is huge so you'll never had to wait in line! I've eaten here at least 3 times and every time the pho has ben consistent. Plenty of noodles and I feel like there is more meat given than other locations. Noodles are always cooked perfectly and chewy. The broth is always hot and rich in flavour. I especially like how they aren't skimpy on the cilantro! The meat is thinly sliced and tender. The tendon is smooth and large pieces are given. My boyfriend has had the BBH, which he says has a good amount of spice and plenty of ingredient given with a delicious broth. The Rice dishes are a good size and the meat is nicely flavoured. Overall, staff is efficient and food is quick with quality. They accept credit cards and plenty of free parking in the lot. Pho 99 is on Fraser Highway and 152nd Street, right next to Shopper's. The furniture is pretty modern and the lights are a bit dimmed. Lots of tables so and isn't fully packed most of the time. Service is good, they give proper care but don't go above and beyond. No food/quality checks, but will accommodate with any requests. Pho is delicious. Still need to try out rice and vermicelli dishes from there though. Price us standard at ~$10 for a bowl of pho. Overall it's just average. Nothing great, nothing bad. Always consistent. read more

The lady behind the counter told me they don't have a phone. I was like you guys don't have a phone? There were about ten people inside. I have been going to this location since forever, it's around the area I'm at and it has been a really good experience. Right off the bat the place is massive and they have newly refurbished furniture. They will seat you right away and give you the basic stuff like utensils and water or tea (by your preference). Their menu has good variety from vermicelli, rice bowls and soup. When it comes to portions, they won't shy away from giving it as well. Service was okay, they seemed rushy, but not pushy. Lol if you know what I mean. I guess it's just their nature. Taste is delicious, and food is cooked on right temperature. I couldn't complain, and if you're a bit picky. This is our second time here and it wasn't much different from the first visit, months ago. The food is fine, but the servers pretty well ignore you and aren't very friendly - which translates as rude and not nice. Some people don't mind the disposition of their servers as long as the food is good, but I guess I still appreciate good ol' fashioned friendliness and quality customer service. I ordered house special and when I got home I noticed I only got the uncooked meat without the other meats. The broth they gave me doesn't smell like the normal broth you get when you order house special. As a frequent costumer to Pho99, I can say this a perfect place for a cozy warm meal on a cold winter day. Unfortunately, I've only had the pho here so I can't speak for the other items on the menu. I would recommend pho #14; however, I always add a side of beansprouts and add it in the mix. The portion size is huge for what you pay. Atmosphere is very casual, not as noisy as other pho restaurants. Customer service is a hit and miss, there are a few friendly servers but you don't see them often. I've eaten at quite a few Pho 99's and I generally have the same feeling through all of them. The service is great and the restaurants are usually very clean, but then we get to the food. Personally I ordered the wonton soup with egg noodle but all 3 of my friends ordered various Pho soups, the general consensus from them was that the broth was bland. Also, a friend ordered bun no hue and it was completely tame, it's generally a very spicy soup when it's ordered! With so many selections around this area now I definitely won't come back to Pho 99. read more

Restaurant just opened for 2 weeks. A friend recommended that we try it. Ordered combo rolls appy to share, beef noodles for me, and wonton noodles for my husband. Everything we ordered were fresh and delicious. 2nd best Vietnamese Pho I've had in lower mainland, 1st is my sister's home cook pho. Restaurant is new, therefore looks clean, roomy and comfortable. Prices are reasonable, and portions were perfect for us. (We ordered "small" bowls and they were plenty.) I have to admit living in Surrey has stripped me from finding a good authentic Asian restaurant. I grew up in Vancouver with Asian heritage, and loving all kinds of food. After trying Pho 99, I am very happy and excited that this will be my go-to place from now on. There's a good selection on the menu for both lunch and dinner. They even have my favourite VM sandwiches and red bean slushies. I will definitely be back and hope to find "consistency" as that would the the 5th star that is missing from my ratings of this restaurant. read more

Very nice ambiance and very good food. Unlike other pho restaurants that i have been to, this one also accepts debit and credit which is nice. They are also open until 1am which makes a suitable place to go later in the night. The food is solid and the pho here is nice. Nice clean restaurant and very reasonably priced. My family and I have been here several times. The food is good and if you like red beans, they do a great red bean dessert which we always make sure we leave room for. Some of the servers have very limited English so if you want to order something outside of the menu it can be a challenge. I've felt compelled to write a review as I had found hair in my soup which looked like (I swear to God I'm not making this up) a PUBIC HAIR. Maybe it could've been a men's short somewhat curvy hair. Ugh. Anyways, I asked the waitress for a new one and she took the bowl back and I'm 99% sure she brought me back the exact same soup with the hair taken out. Who does that?
