costumer service here is TERRIBLE. they took an extremely long time to get our order after we tried to get their attention multiple times. mind u i saw a full kitchen and they were just chit chatting with each other or other costumers. after we got their attention and asked for our order the first time 2 of the women working here came up to us 6 times, 3 times each. they asked us the SAME exact question each time which was "hi can i get ur order" or "did we get ur order" and "what was ur order". no communication at all or acknowledgment when our order was initially taken. the food is really good tho 9/10. read more

Pho Tau Bay - We got #46 & #10 both very delicious as u can tell - Vietnamese Near Me - Surrey, British Columbia

The food was excellent, and the service was great. Highly recommend. We will definitely be going back to give the spot another try.

For a pho joint, its fine. Prices are reasonable for their fairly generous portions. Noodles cooked with a nice texture. Broth was pretty average though. Proteins were fine. They give you pre-portioned little sauce dishes instead of the whole bottle unless you ask. They do serve generous bean sprouts and basil (no saw-tooth herb). Service was fast and friendly. place was old but clean enough. free parking in the strip mall lot. Overall a decent neighborhood pho joint. I would come back if I felt like some Pho and I was in the area. It isnt good enough to come here from further away though. Solid 4/5 as far as casual pho places go. read more

Service was friendly and fast. Our pho came out really quick after ordering and there was a generous amount of meat (I personally would've liked a bit more noodles). The brisket had a bit of hard fat. The broth wasn't overly salty which was nice though I've had more flavourful broths before. Not a fan of the two fish swimming in circles in the empty fish tank in the front. Prices are reason around $17 for a medium pho read more

My aunt got me Com Tam Ga Nuong takeout for my lunch. Vegetables were kept separate so they don't get warm and soggy. The portions here are HUGE! I got so much chicken and rice--I was STUFFED. The chicken was really juicy, tender, and flavourful. Perfect for a soft mouth. The rice was good. Vegetables were fresh. The nuoc mam was too sweet, but still edible. Overall, great flavour and portion sizing. You could definitely make two meals out of this. Can't comment on service or ambiance since I did not go. read more

My large family enjoyed all the dishes of rice and Pho We came for lunch with no notice of 10 people. Staff gave quick and wonderful friendly service. My parents can be critics but loved the rice dishes. Kids enjoyed their food as well. This will be our go to for Vietnamese cuisine in Surrey. Highly recommend. read more

Checked in today. Great Pho, nice thinly sliced lean beef. #2 is my fav. Love coming here.

I'm from Hawaii and we have some good pho restaurants but dang this was one of the best bowls of pho I've ever had. The broth and meat were divine. Their spring rolls were also great. The service was great but we came during non peak hours. Pleasantly surprised by this place. read more

Definitely recommend. Good service and food. Got the Pho Ga Vien. Made it spicy and good.

This is my go to Pho, even though there are a couple good pho places close to my house, I drive across Surrey to go to Pho Tau Bay. The broth is just soooooo good! I haven't tasted better anywhere. They also have the best spring rolls. Prices are reasonable- a tad more expensive than your typical pho joint but the value is definitely there. If you can, I recommend to eat in. I'm a broth fiend and you get quite a bit more if you eat in. It's a bit pricey to add extra broth which I've done before when ordering to go. read more

If you live in surrey you know this is the hottest pho joint..... seriously foods always consistent and Ive been going here for years. Prices are reasonable and food is very delicious. We ordered the lemongrass chicken with spring roll $13 and the Pho Dac Biet in large which was $10.50-$11 i believe. Located in the same parking lost as the Macs and subway and theres alot of free parking spots available as long as you dont go at such a crazy time(gets packed). Our server was really friendly and he's really funny to!! read more

The pho was pho-nomenal, the spring rolls were pho-nomenal, ambiance.. you guessed it pho-nomenal.

If your Vietnamese friends tell you to go to Surrey to have Pho, you should probably listen to them. The BBH at Pho Tau Bay was by far one of the better ones I've had! My friend Steven N. said the broth would taste better during dinner, and you know what? He was right! The BBH came out piping hot and the broth was so full of flavour. I don't go to Surrey often, but if I ever do find myself back in this city, I'd definitely come back to try other items on their menu. read more

The best pho I've had thus far. I've been going here since I was a child. The restaurant has been recently renovated to have a bit of a more modern look. The restaurant is about a 5-10 minute drive from Guildford Town Centre, so it isn't too far. A couple of servers don't know much English, but have enough knowledge of the language to understand orders and everything you may need. They're nice and very quick. The food is amazing. Their pho is "phonomenal", everything about it is great. The broth is very rich, there's a lot of meat in the bowl, and a good amount of noodles to fill you up. Their vermicelli and rice plates are just as good too. You can never go wrong with what you order. There's also Vietnamese iced coffee there too, which is delicious. Also Vietnamese desserts and milkshakes to die for. I recommend this place if you're craving Vietnamese food. Will be continuing to go here for a long time. read more

Pho Tau Bay - #1 large with rare beef on the side. BEST. - Vietnamese Near Me - Surrey, British Columbia

I found this place randomly in 2004 when I lived close, and after trying it (delicious) and every other Pho place I could find in Greater Vancouver and Calgary, it's still easily the best Pho place I've ever had the pleasure of visiting - the broth is rich with an amazing scent, the meat is super tender, the noodles are always cooked perfectly and there's something amazing about their spring rolls. To be honest, the soup is on par with Pho Tam a few blocks down 108 behind the Safeway, but the spring rolls are hands down better. Every time I've had Pho somewhere else in the last 9 years, I've wished I was here. read more

A hidden Vietnamese pho restaurant with prices ranging around $9 for a large pho. The broth is nice and savory sweet. There are a few downsides though and one of them is quality of meat, which is a little rubbery. However, portions are more than normal. The noodles, on this occasion, was overcooked and got soggy. There is very little ambience. *CASH ONLY Go for: quick service (I received my order within 5mins!), decent flavourful pho Don't go for: that special pho shop that you would travel 10k into Surrey for read more

Pho Tau Bay - Yum. A large house special $10.47 with tax and before tip - Vietnamese Near Me - Surrey, British Columbia

Don't get scared of their pho prices. For what they charge it's more then fair. It's a huge bowl compare to anywhere else in Vancouver. I was more then stuffed with a large bowl. I think it can feed 2 small females. I needed a nap after. I never seen this much meat in a single bowl of pho in my life. Their buncun is pretty good. It's also in pretty big portion. The ham on top is a little salty but overall if u mix it with everything else it's well balanced. Lots of fired shallots on top. read more

Solid 3.5 stars, it's not as nice as the King George, nor do I like the tight plaza it's in with a donair place, pizza, and a 7 eleven all fighting for limited spots. oh yeah, forgot there's a subway too. Ordered the salad roll, which was wrapped nice and tight, impressed w/ the extra filling inside (pork) but could've lightened up on the mint...and the dipping sauce, which is supposed to be more peanut butter, tasted more like soya sauce. Ice coffee was also a tad on the sweet side, and remember, I can handle sweetness. yet i'm still eager to return here to try the real food. read more

We stopped by for a late lunch and enjoyed some pho and spring rolls. The pho was loaded with toppings! The broth was very flavourful. It seems like Surrey Vietnamese restaurants generally load up on the toppings generously when compared to Burnaby and Vancouver. The spring roll was alright. I prefer rice wrappers over the wheat wrappers. There was a decent amount of filling. Service was subpar. We were borderline about to walkout after flagging staff to take our orders but the staff kept dropping food off to other customers and just looked at us. Finally someone eventually took our order. The customers who showed up after us received their food first. The kitchen messed up on the no onions for an order and tried to remove as much onion out of the order so the pho arrived with meat topping mostly cooked. The food is a solid 4 stars. Minus one star for the service. read more

There are MANY MANY pho places in Richmond, but when we are in the outskirts of Greater Vancouver, we always always go here. This is a must go for anyone who loves Pho. Let's face it, there is so much meat in my bowl that I had to give half of it to my hubby. The quality and the quantity is just absolutely top notch. We couldn't even take a picture because we had to start eating right away. We also love how quickly everything comes out. I wish they have one closer to us, so we can go more often for sure! read more

Pho Pricing - Tad expensive. I believe it was $10.25 for a small and $10.75 for a large. Portions - Large + lots of side veggies (bean sprouts, basil, etc.) Quality - Solid broth (but not the best), solid noodles - overall good All in all it's a pretty solid Pho joint. Definitely won't be my go-to, but worth a visit if you're in the area. read more

Service: so-so, not rude but all business Food: Good overall, the crispy rolls were delish. I had the rice and grilled chicken meal, chicken was great but everything seemed over salted, may have been a one-time thing but it did ruin it a little for me. Location: parking lot is a little tight but there was a nice park beside it that we took my nephew after to run off all his extra energy which was an added bonus. read more

Came HIGHLY recommended by a couple of Vietnamese friends of mine. Sketchy neighbourhood to be sure, but it's my old stomping grounds so I'm always happy to drop back. (This used to be the old Hearty Boy for those in the know ;) It isn't very clean, but what Pho place is? The food was terrific. I overate and got Pho and my usual Lemongrass chicken with grilled pork chop on rice - tasted excellent, and the portions were very fair. I'd definitely go back - only if it was a little closer to me. All the Pho places are too far north in Surrey! read more

I wasn't completely satisfied but I wasn't disappointed either. If you want to go for the best Pho in Surrey this isn't the place to go. The cleanliness as mentioned by another Yelper was unsatisfactory. At least the waitress cleaned the table as we sat down. The reusable chopsticks were gross and sticky. They shouldn't have the bottom sticking upward as people will touch the tips while grabbing their own. There was a lot of green vegetables in the Pho. It was fresh for the most part which I was satisfied with. However it's not the best place I've had Pho and especially not in Surrey. I'd come here again. read more

I've been to Pho Tau Bay a total of three times now. The two times I have been, I've eaten at the restaurant, while the third, I got take-out. The broth is out of the world. There is just something about it that makes me crave pho from here everytime I drive by or am thinking of what to eat. Take-out was fast and packed amazingly. I ordered take out and drove to Port Coquitlam and the broth was still piping hot. Spring rolls are good, as are the salad (summer) rolls. Just thinking about it makes me want to go back!!! Service is good. And the owners accommodated my friend and I when we arrived just as they were closing one night when we went. read more

This is one of the best spots for Vietnamese food in surrey. The pho broth is always good and their plates are delicious as well. They give you a lot of chicken for their lemon grass and it isn't too sweet either...unlike some other places. Service is always good too. Same guy is always working he's very polite ... I assume hes related to the owner. read more

This place is located in a sketch strip mall in Surrey, but hey, the pho is solid. You're up for an adventure and looking for a great pho place in Surrey aside from Pho Tam, I would highly reco' Pho Tau Bay. It has all the quintessential requirements of a pho restaurant. Mirrors on one side of the room? Check. Neon lights? Check. TV playing Vietnamese music videos? Check. The broth is different from most places and has a nice sweet scent to it. Apparently it's even better during dinner. Why? No idea, but we'll go again! read more

Better service than the other location, although the waitress forgot i ordered my large bowl with extra meat and no greens - yes i'm a voracious meat eater and yes i hate raw veggies and fruits, come at me vegetarians. Let me start off with saying that this place is a hole in the wall kind of restaurant. The entire place needs to be renovated - if not CLEANED (Dirty tables, floors, rugs, chairs etc.). The staff is a hit or miss, sometimes I'll have a wonderful waiter/waitress, and other times I'll get a waitress that is dumb and slow as hell. Another problem is that it's "Cash Only"...most pho places I've been have a debit machine at least....but that's the least of my worries about this place. I've been here on several occasions and the pho has always been consistent...and returning to my complaint about how the place needs to be cleaned from top to bottom... one time I found a fucking roach hanging out in my pho and another occasion, hair floating around with the noodles!!! The owner took the situation lightly and just gave me another bowl of pho...but meal was not compensated of course. That's unacceptable and disgusting. I wonder if the health inspector has taken a tour of this place yet... It's really a hit or miss, I gave this place 2 stars due to the filthy environment, but they do have good pho (Stay away from the dry rice dishes). read more

I am giving this place only 2 stars. The pho with steak and brisket was delicious but the customer service was seriously awful! We had to ask a few times to get someone to come get our order, & when he finally came over, he was rushing off! The order came wrong as I expected for 3 of us but mine was exactly what I ordered and it was delicious! They did not bother fixing the 3 other issues on his part probably because he did not write down the order and was in a rush!!!He kept saying that the kitchen is way too busy & to please just take the order! Then, we get charged for 2 items that we never received! When I asked the lady at cash what are these 2 things I got charged for- she snaps at me as if I was at fault. She then proceeds to mumble in her language whatever whatever and the guy had to come help diffuse the situation and still no apology- they took it off the bill ( as I don't pay for things I do not receive or eat!) It is all about 2 things- the food and customer service! But, the pho was delicious. Would I go back? No!!! The service was seriously so terrible that they should know that there are tons of other Vietnamese Pho places all around, and if you lack customer service- then you will lose business. Never going back again! read more

Delicious booth, tender beef, lots of meat, hearty portions, cheap prices, fast service, friendly staff. Wow! Introducing... the best pho in BC! Best Pho I've had in Surrey! Ok, it's the only Pho I've had in Surrey but it's still really good. Came here after another random trip to Surrey and I wanted something not very Tim Hortons-y so we came here. This place is a little dive Vietnamese diner that maintains it's "original" design. What this placed lacked in aesthetics was more than compensated for in service and speed. I ordered the rare beef with beef balls and Pho wise I think this place is on the upper end of the taste spectrum. The side of spring rolls I ordered was a nice little side to go with it. I would come back here anytime I have a craving and I'm in Surrey, just don't forget to bring some cash as it's cash only. read more

This was a pretty good beef noodle place. I had rare beef and beef ball and spring roll. I think lemon grass spring roll beats this spring roll hands down but was ok (not too oily). Beef came out fully cooked in the soup so was bit tough (but many pieces) but the beef balls were very bouncy and tasty (but so few). The soup was very good with lots of green onion and good flavor. I would come back and try their other noodle dishes. read more
