We came on a weekday evening for dinner and was immediately greeted by an enthusiastic server upon walking in. The restaurant is not big but does have ample of seating (including booths). It was around half full when we arrived so there was no wait but it got busier as the night progressed. There is a good variety of soup noodle dishes, rice, vermicelli, and appetizers - the typical dishes found in Vietnamese restaurants. We both opted for a soup noodle. What stood out what that their broth seemed quite "clear" meaning that it wasn't overly salty like some other restaurants that pack their soups with MSG. It could have been a touch more flavourful and fragrant as there was just a very subtle hint of the spices and herbs in the broth. The meats were thinly sliced so the beef was practically cooked by the time we received the dishes. The meats were also quite lean so they were tough. We understand that food costs are very high right now, but we were kind of surprised that tea costed $1 per person (server did not tell us) and we weren't given refill or the teabag. The sauces for the noodles came in a little condiment dish so if you want extra hot sauce, you have to pay extra. Portion was a bit small for the prices charged. I ordered a medium and got full from drinking some of the broth and eating 2 people's portion of beansprouts (my partner didn't eat his portion). Service is good though - the server was friendly and always had a smile on his face. While the meal was enjoyable, nothing stood out for us.

Mai's is excellent! The food was super tasty and came out quickly. The service was professional and efficient. We had the Hanoi salad spring rolls to start- surprisingly large- yay! I had the NHA Trang Beef stew which was amazing- big chunks of tender beef with similarly big carrot chunks. Lots of noodles too - how did I eat all that? A mystery of anatomy I suppose. We also had the papaya salad and the vermicelli with spring rolls. For the quantity of food the price was quite reasonable. I want to come back.

We were in the area and I wanted Vietnamese for lunch. After a quick Yelp search, we ended up at this restaurant. We were seated right away. Menu was available with a QR code on the table. We ordered the house special beef noodle soup, lemongrass sliced beef vermicelli bowl and Saigon spring rolls. Food arrived fairly quickly. Everything was made well. The beef noodle soup had a light broth that was not greasy. There was a decent amount of noodles and beef toppings. The vermicelli bowl was colourful with fresh veggies. The beef was a bit on the chewy side. The spring rolls were perfect. I prefer spring rolls made with rice paper instead of the wheat wrapper. The crispness is just a bit better in my opinion. The pork and mushroom filling was tasty. Covid precautions were in place. There was a plastic barrier between tables. Staff wore masks. Hand sanitizer was available at the front of the restaurant. Restaurant was clean. Prices were higher than average. This was one of the more expensive vermicelli bowls I have eaten. The spring roll was a $5.50 add on which placed the bowl at $21.50. Most competitors would have priced a similar bowl for less. If you like quality Vietnamese food and do not mind paying a bit more, this is a good option in the area.

Was doing errands around this area and was craving pho so we came across this small joint and it definitely satisfied my cravings. Being in the Langley area a lot, I don't think there are decent Vietnamese restaurants around but the city is coming up ! Everything we got lived up to it's name and I would definitely come here again.

I'm from out of town and I've been to this restaurant 3 times already. Here is my opinion: Food- tasty with quality ingredients and nice presentation. Variety of dishes to choose from is a bonus. Price- middle of the road, decent. Ambience- clean & relaxing with stylish decor Location- easy to find & plenty of parking lots I will definitely come back here again.

Best Vietnamese in town. It's about a dollar over the normal price- But it's an upscale Vietnamese restaurant in comparison to the norm. Great food, amazing flavors, nice presentation, staff is very friendly. My only complaint is that they had Alicia Keys "Doesn't mean anything" playing on repeat. I think we heard over 10 times while we were having lunch.... Other than that, I'm a fan!

    So much meat!!

I found this " vegetable and tofu" roll the most bland I've had. No herb, sauce , crunch.... I am a fresh roll lover, so a little discerning, but this was truly flavorless. Tofu, rice noodles, leaf lettuce and rice paper. Thats it. Like eating a carrier for too little peanut sauce. The pho was filling and came with a plate of bean sprouts referred to as "the vegetables" . The Vietnamese coffee was tasty but presentation awkward. It came as Condensed milk in a cup with a pour- over atop this and the separate glass of ice. I'm no expert in this ritual but I am accustomed to having the milk cold in the ice and the brewed coffee in a spouted vessel for easy pouring into the iced milk. Here we had to mix the brewed coffee, then add it dribbling and spilling to the ice. No big deal but awkward. It tasted good. The prices were reasonable and parking a lot shared with the strip mall . Not within the restaurant's control , but in circling for a spot around one lane, I was nearly backed into by not 2 not 3 but 4 cars. I think I recall a cannabis shop being in the mall or nearby. This may explain that. The service was friendly throughout. The place was empty but the time was odd. I don't think we'd return based upon the fresh rolls alone.

To kick off our experience we started with the fried pork sticky buns, and they did not last long. The crispy fried crust had a very unique texture, and contrasted wonderfully with the soft warm inside of sticky buns with BBQ pork filing. Next we dug into the Fried Combo, which included Egg Rolls, Potstickers and Crab Rangoon. The Egg Roll & Potstickers were unforgettable, but the Crab Rangoon was the real star of the show. Creamy crab filling wrapped in fried wonton paper, and some sweet chili sauce to dip in. Moving on to the entrees we shared the Beef & Shrimp Fried Noodle plate, and the Grilled Chicken Banh Mi. The fried noodles contained tender beef and succulent shrimp stir-fried with yellow noodles, Cabbage, Shredded Carrot, crisp bean sprouts, and garnished with fresh cilantro. The dish was very flavorful, with all the fresh veggies and spices tying together the noodles, shrimps and beef. Finally the banh mi. I will admit I have never tried a banh mi sandwich, but I am very glad this was my first one. All the vegetables on top provided an excellent crunch and the chicken was very tender with an amazing flavor. I also added picked jalapeño for an extra touch of heat. All in all this is a very great choice for anyone in the mood for some great Vietnamese cuisine. We will definitely be going into the restaurant next time to try something else!
