Decent no-frills Vietnamese spot in the Poco Place Plaza. They served winter melon tea while dining in and service was relatively fast. The Vermicelli bowl with lemongrass chicken and a spring roll (#V3 - 18.95) was a good portion with the chicken being pretty juicy. read more

Came here with the family and the first thing we noticed was that the prices are higher compared to other Vietnamese restaurants in the area. They do give you free salad roll if you order more than $30. I got the chicken pho as I was feeling a little bit under the weather. The regular and large size is only $0.75 difference. The pho came out hot with a good amount of chicken pieces. The noodles were a bit clumpy though. My brother got the lemongrass chicken on rice. He said that the chicken didn't have lemongrass flavor. The marinade must not have penetrated the meat yet. The chicken was dry as well. Overall, just so so. There are other better Vietnamese restaurants in the area and with the higher price, this won't be our first choice. read more

A relative brought over Take-Out. I had the Lemongrass Pork. It was quite Delicious. Generous portion of the meat that was nicely grilled. This Vietnamese rice has a unique flavour. Don't know what was added but it was good. Comes with small salad. Dressing for salad can also be a dipping sauce for the meat. Hearty Delicious Meal. Will come back. read more

THE best pho in the COQ! When I worked downtown and in Kits, I ate pho at least once a week and I've struggled to find somewhere on par with the best little pho shops in the city out here in the 'burbs. Pho Huy has solved that problem for me. This place was recommended by my brother and I'm so happy I gave it a try. Their broth is delicious, their meat and accoutrements always fresh. I would happily eat here every day if my wallet would allow it. read more

I moved to the Coquitlam area about a year ago and have been trying to find out go to for every cuisine. This pho place is definitely mine! The flavours are rich and closer to authentic flavours than all the other ones in the area. There might be some that taste good when you eat it but you'll be so thirsty - meaning lots of msg. I don't get that with this restaurant. The service is attentive and they check on you regularly. This place can get pretty busy during prime time! read more

Soup base is okay. Meat portion not great. Price is higher than other pho places. Duped by the hyped reviews. read more

Sometimes these dives do make it out alive lol. actually, it really isnt that at all, just compared to the franchise Pho99 but it's more than decent. Originally had called in ahead for the ice coffee to go, nice touch when he asked if i wanted sweet, less sweet, etc. so sure, easy on the condensed milk ;) Good coffee flavour. But ended up ordering the lemongrass pork over rice, good taste and good bang for your buck, everything under $15. fresh veggies and fish oil sauce. too bad they don't delivery. accepts typical cards. very busy plaza here, a bit hidden, but if u see Michael's, right beside it. easy repeat. read more

Went here cause it was next to my Doctors appointment out of convenience. Got the house special and my GF got the wonton soup and we both spilt a fried roll. The roll wasn't anything special (it tasted previously frozen and over fried) the broth itself was very bland. Everything else was fine as it's hard to mess up noodles and meat in hot liquid. The attitude from our waitress was less than pleasant, and we felt rushed and unwelcome. The decor inside gives off a very different impression on what experience you're going to get, so props to them for that. Maybe their dry dishes are better! But we won't be back to find out :P read more

We have been going here for years and have done our best to support them during Covid Great family run restaurant and amazing Vietnamese soup and meals read more

Owners are super friendly and we have really enjoyed the pho and the dry noodles with spring rolls. Really good food at good value.

Finally found my pho restaurant in Coquitlam! I moved to the Coq centre area just 4 months ago and since then, I've been trying all the pho restaurants in the neighborhood to find MY pho restaurant, and I found it FINALLY! Just for your reference, I've tried Pho Phu Thinh Restaurant, Delicious Pho, Pho 99, and Pho Hoa. I think the one remaining restaurant we haven't given a chance to is Pho Sen Beef, so I'll update this post when that happens. But in conclusion, for me it's definitely Pho Huy great-great-greater than Pho Hoa, which is greater than Delicious Pho, which is greater than Pho Phu Thinh Restaurant, which is finally greater than Pho 99. I don't know if there's just more MSG or if they are putting something illegal into their broth, but it's just mad delicious in comparison to the rest. I'm a bit of a pho snob when it comes to my broth - it needs to be rich in taste which would equal to many hours of boiling the beef bones, and I find a lot of pho restaurants that aren't located at Vancouver East side to be lacking this element. Pho Huy, however, does it for me. I acknowledge that it's a tad more expensive than other pho restaurants in the neighborhood, but hey, if the difference is this big in terms of taste, I don't mind paying the extra buck for my pho at all. The service is almost always attentive and good. Servers are always accommodating and I like how they leave the cilantro out of your pho to be added by your own discretion with the bean sprouts. They also have these great incentives like getting a can of pop free if you purchase more than 25 dollars before tax, or spring rolls if you purchase more than 35. All in all, I will definitely be back at Pho Huy and definitely recommend it to you all. read more

Very average IMO. Our usual hangout Pho Phu Thinh a few blocks away beside Coquitlam Center was closed so we decided to try something new. This is where Yelp is so hit and miss, and in this case it was solid miss. Perhaps we have been spoiled by the quality, ambience, and service at Pho Phu Thinh, but the food was just okay (for some reason my broth and my husband's was pretty sour--he had the Bun Bo Hue, and I had the regular pho. Usually I cannot stop drinking the broth, but in this case I was happy not to drink it). The meat in mine was pretty abundant, but not in his, and we both had the small. The menu was nice and had a lot of pictures, and the prices are ok and slightly higher than Pho Phu Thinh, but not by much so price is not the issue here. We also ordered two salad rolls which were not too exciting either. I would say everything fell into the "average" category, and the service was just average too. We asked for the bill and they pointed us to the back as if we should have known better. Anyway, I don't get the rave reviews. Try Pho Phu Thinh if you are looking for Pho in the area and tell me that this place compares! read more

Have you ever been in suburban hell and have a craving for pho? Me too! Well, if you find yourself in similar circumstances and happen to be in PoCo then look no further than Pho Huy. It is not much to look at from the outside and the ambience is definitely lacking, but the pho is solid. Even the grumbly server didn't deter me from enjoying my delicious soup. I opted for the regular rather than large and it was ample. The Vietnamese coffee also fantastic! read more

I tried this place for the first time tonight. It was ok. I do agree that it is highly overpriced for the portions they give. I ordered chicken & there was barely any meat. I may give it another try some day if I'm desperate enough but it won't be my first choice. read more

Another cold wet day in the Lower Mainland and was craving something warm and comforting but didn't want to venture too far. Pho Huy is not too far from home and also conveniently located near my drycleaner and a Michael's so why not (plus Yelpers kinda like this place!) The interior was bright and clean, and the staff were very nice. We were sat right away by the window and perused their lengthy menu. I was going to have a Bun (vermicelli with different types of grilled meats) but I decided to go for their house Pho as this is my first time and wanted to see how they compare to the other Pho places. (Side note: there's more Pho places than other Asian inspired restaurants in the Lower Mainland). By the way, we got a free shrimp fresh roll for ordering a certain amount of food (Bonus!) My House Special Pho came right away. I was struck by the clearness of the broth and the amazing star anise (probably from the five spice) aroma. I immediately dunked the raw beef and added a fresh Thai basil leaf, slice of jalapeno and squeezed lime to the beautiful clear broth. My first large spoonful of broth didn't disappoint. It felt like a big hug under a giant umbrella on a rainy Sunday! The noodles were done just right; not too soft as I slurped it with that amazing broth. The beef ball also had that distinct five spice taste while the tripe (a.k.a. Pho car wash) gave the dish texture. I'd definitely come back here if I need to be comforted and maybe try their other dishes. read more

What's with the generous ratings here at Yelp? Portion to price ratio definitely does not benefit the clients. The broth tastes like it came from a powder base rather than making it the traditional way. Spring roll is light on the fillings. Won't be coming back. read more

I always get the brisket and meat ball pho because the meat is so tender and tasty. The price is average similar to other pho places but I always get large because the difference is only 75 cents or something. They also give you complimentary salad or spring roll if you spend $25 or more. Not the best salad roll I've tasted but it's free so can't complain. Overall 4 stars because the portions is just right and Satisfies my pho craving ! read more

This place and Pho 99 takes the crown for best pho in the Tri Cities. Pho Huy is a recent discovery for me after seeing the line up of people. Using my rational train of thought, i immediately placed the puzzle pieces together. Lots of people=good food. Boy did that rational thinking pay off. This place has great pho, on par with Pho 99 but it's a bit cheaper. My only beef is that the food took longer to come out compared to Pho 99. Writing reviews at night isn't a good thing, now i want some pho! read more

You can usually find me here the day after I arrive in YVR, for lunch with my family. This is our go-to pho joint. Cheap and good :)

I surprisingly found in the others reviews, that they have a good service. I have the absolutely opposite experience. When I came first time, their service looked like, that they mostly care about their business, not customers. This was so obvious. But anyway I decided to come one more time, because their restaurant is next to my office and I liked their soup. I am not so fluent in Vietnamese Menu, so I wanted to try something new. When I asked for a waiter to explain me what I was ordering. I kept my finger, pointing at the picture in the menu . She pushed my finger off the menu angrily !! Then she in-patiently started her unclear explanation quickly. "Don't ever do it with your customer" - said I, standing up and going to leave. Do you think she apologized. NO WAY! She aggressively shouted something to her owner through the restaurant. I guess blaming me. I did not understand, because they spoke their native language. There were people there, but she did not care about noise, she was making. Honestly, I was shocked by this attitude. If you do not want someone makes your mood worse never go their. read more
