House Special Pho -- sliced rare beef, well done flank, fatty flank, soft tendon, tripe & beef ball (Large) $11.49

House Special Pho - sliced rare beef, well done flank, fatty flank, soft tendon, tripe & beef ball (Large) $11.49 Review: I'm no pho expert but based on taste I think this pho is neither amazing nor horrible. I found the broth a bit too oily and heavy However, the actual flavour of the broth wasn't bad. I just wish they would've skimmed off the fat of the broth. There also wasn't a lot of meat in the pho... they skimped out on the ingredients The rice noodles were cooked well with a good bite and texture and I liked the thickness of the rice noodles. Sometimes, restaurants serve really thick or really thin noodles and I just prefer a medium width. There isn't much to say about this pho as it isn't breathtaking or bewildering but I might come back if I'm on a time crunch. Most likely I would not as I've had better pho at other places! Rating: 6.5/10

Hidden little Vietnamese place in a strip mall in Coquitlam. After work I was craving some rice and meat. I checked yelp and found this Vietnamese restaurant, and I'm glad I did. My husband likes pho so thats what he usually orders. Tasted the broth wasn't bad (I generally don't order Pho) I opted for the pork lemon grass with spring rolls and rice. It tasted great and hit the spot. Good portions. We arrived around 5pm early dinner place was still pretty slow. The place was nice, clean, with lots of seating. The server was really nice. Overall I would come back here.

House Special (#8) - Noodle soup with sliced rare beef, well done flank, fatty flank, soft tendon, tripe & beef ball

Following a recommendation from Carolyn N, I decided to give this pho place a try. Very clean looking and was promptly seated and my order taken after a couple of minutes when the server returned with my tea. Only two complaints that I can think of: I'm a several napkin kind of eater (especially after I add all the spicy bits) and had to ask for extra napkins after they dropped off a single one with my water. The plate of sprouts/basil/sliced peppers also had a suggestion of a lemon wedge. It was about the size of a quarter (not hyperbole) and barely any juice came out when I squeezed it. The broth was one of the better ones I've had. A rich brown with a great beefy flavor. Not bland in the least. Seeing as this was my first time here, I got the house special with a mix of all of their meats. Seemed to have a good overall amount of meat, although I wouldn't have minded more beef balls (only came with half of one). The next time I go, and there will be a next time, I'll just be sure to order extra. :-)

The best Vietnamese place in town. I just came back from vacation in Vietnam, and noticed how original this place is! Owner is from Halong Bay, beautiful place in north of Vietnam. Try Pho, noodle soup :-)

Just here for the iced coffee, passes the test easily, very nice touch by the manager there: provided a paper-wrapped straw! guarantee you won't get that back in east Van lol. Quite spacious, one of the nicer decor places in terms of a pho place, pretty well dark mahogany decor throughout. Will repeat, seemed pretty happening here.

    Pho Tai Gan

Came here to nom hard after a nice hike with my boy. We ordered Pho Tai Gan (pho with beef slice and tendon), and Rice with lemongrass chicken and cha Lua, as well as spring rolls, and a durian shake. The spring rolls were pretty good, as well as the chicken on my rice dish. Pho was decent...I overheard someone say at another table that this restaurant has northern style pho, which could explain why the pho wasn't that strongly flavored. Personally, my daddy grew up in the South and would cook Pho southern style, so maybe I'm just used to really flavorful pho....either way, I didn't think the pho was anything special. The rice dish didn't fare much better than the pho. It was pretty simple, and only had a tiny portion of pickled vegetables. The Cha Lua was...cha Lua, just cut up and fried. My boyfriend really liked the chicken though, he thought it was very nice tasting. I thought the durian shake was the best thing. Super tasty :))) a bit sweet but seriously so yummy! The place itself is very clean and pretty. Would come again to try other dishes.

This seems to be a popular Vietnamese restaurant around this area. It is packed with people during lunch hour every time. We wants to give it a try after church for lunch because we couldn't find seats at Copa next door. Well, it is kind of disappointed. I have many experience with Pho but this one is quite different. I don't think the soup base is freshly made as it was light and clear. I even suspect that they use a lot of MSG as I got thirsty right after the meal. So if you really want authentic Pho, forget it.

The new location is in Richmond near the Richmond Oval, across where T&T use to be. The space is pretty big, and clean, with around 10 tables spaced out. There's definitely room to put in more tables, but I think they want to test it out. Everything on the menu looks delicious. We ordered No.9 on the noodle soup, with eye round steak, well-done brisket, fatty brisket, soft tendon & beef tripe, and a couple of spring rolls. The price is very reasonable, within $20 for a bowl of pho, and there was also a 10% off for the soft opening, The broth is rich and tasty, however on the salty side. I would suggest to squeeze the lime into the broth to balance out the salty taste. Portion is pretty big as we couldn't finish in one go. I like how clear the broth is, and a lot of meat it comes with. It's well balanced. The rice roll is made out of rice paper, instead of the spring roll paper. Be aware that it's going to be sticky on your teeth, haha. I personally not a fan, but I know it's authentic. The service was pretty good, a little slow since it just opened, but the servers are nice and friendly. It's a family business, and they all use to work in the Coquitlam location. It's pretty busy during lunch hours, and I have no doubt that it will slowly build up to the community. I mean, who doesn't like a good bowl of pho in winter?

Regular size and a #A1 fried rolls(2pc) The broth was nice and hot and had decent flavor but not a beefy depth I've had at other pho places. But not the worst.. and I've had much worse. This is fairly standard. The noodles were cooked perfectly, beautiful chew and texture. Decent amount of beef Brisket, tendon and balls. Overall solid bowl of pho. Nothing bad here. The fried rolls were beautifully crispy and not overly oily. The filling was tasty and had a very nice texture. Fish sauce was a bit lacking in my opinion. Wasn't horrible bit i felt it could be a bit stronger in flavor? Took a piece of wifeys grilled lemon grass chicken from her pho. Was nicely cooked. No complaints there. As said before overall everything was decent and fairly standard for a solid meal. No negatives but also nothing stands out. Would definitely frequent this establishment again if in the area.
