Mostly a 4.5 rating for Pho 99's ability to satisfy a quick and easy pho craving. It's a big space with booths and tables. The servers are quick - and while it may not be a traditional western restaurant with pleasantries and interaction - this is the typical standard for an Asian restaurant. We like their banh mi as well and usually order it with our pho. Sometimes the pho broth can vary though so it's not AS consistent as I'd like it. Either way it's still a win and a good spot in the neighbourhood to go to. I like this complex too because you can hit up H mart and Chatime afterwards. Really great Vietnamese! The iced coffee was exactly like what I used to have every morning during my travels in Vietnam. The pho broth was delicious, could have used more sides though (extra bean sprouts, hot peppers, lime wedge) they seemed to skimp on these a bit however they definitely did not skimp on the flavours in the broth or the slices of beef. The strawberry shake was incredible, very fresh. Service left a little to be desired but I think that is typical of most ethnic restaurants these days. read more

My go-to for years! I used to visit pho 99 growing up and now I still have one close to home. I love their abundance of options, meat, seafood and veggie. Their bahn mi's are a classic staple and have to be one of my favourites. I find some pho places are getting fancy these days and pho 99 is just a classic place for a good, large bowl of pho! read more

Drove all the way across town to come to eat and refused service. The hours stated online that they were open until 11 and they said they were closing at 10. At this point we had walked in at 9:40. Pretty standard Vietnamese restaurant - since it's a chain don't expect anything to really "wow" you - but when you're craving that bowl of pho & find yourself in Langley, this is a good spot to fulfil it. All the popular dishes are pretty standard, their beef pho is good and seafood egg noodle soup is decent (but it could use more seafood & flavour in the broth). Their rice dishes are a bit plain, the pork chop & lemongrass chicken are just plain cutlets with a similar taste - I found that I had to add more fish sauce to them than usual. Service is fairly quick and more or less pretty friendly, depending on which server you get. One time we got helped by one guy that was incredibly nice, which left a good impression on us. read more

The food at this Vietnamese Restaurant is simply good. We have been eating here regularly for the past couple of years and the quality of the food has always been consistent and fresh. Here you can eat a Vietnamese Sub for only $3.50 or 10pcs. chicken wings for $6.50. Just love their Noodle Bowl # 73 with lemon grass chicken , veggies and spring rolls for $7.80. Two people can eat dinner here for under $20. They also have a 10% discount Membership card which you can get from the local newspaper. The food here is light and not greasy. I used to visit the Langley location almost daily for lunch. The staff were efficient, friendly, and helpful. Since reopening after the COVID shutdowns, there is a new group of people working there. Not sure if the franchise was sold to a new owner, etc. Now the experience is significantly underwhelming. The serving staff does not interact with you. Take your order, deliver your food, and that's all. No offer is made to clear the table of used dishes, no enquiry into the meal experience, basically no eye contact whatsoever. During my last visit, most of the tables surrounding us were not cleared of the previous diners plates, etc. We spent the entire meal looking at dirty tables, while serving staff stood around socializing. I found a hair in my food, which really is no big deal and happens from time to time at restaurants. I brought it to their attention, they took the item away and replaced it. No acknowledgement, no apology, no bill adjustment. Just replaced and walk away. Now on to the food. I loved their Pho, but for the price, it's mostly just broth and noodles now. All the expensive ingredients have been cut back to an absolute bare minimum. Definitely not worth the $12.25. Long story short, I left the Langley location feeling disappointed and ripped off. It's been like this for awhile, so this review is not a knee jerk reaction to a single bad experience. I love the Broadway Tech Center location and still visit them when at work. Just the new management / ownership of the Langley location has unfortunately made the restaurant less palatable. read more

The place is fairly busy but is definitely worth the wait. The food overall is fantastic and the service is efficient. If I could leave a zero I would. Totally inhospitable restaurant, zero customer service, and the staff went out of their way to continually police my children who were trying to enjoy their dinner and made them feel very unwelcome. Both my mother and I felt completely alienated and to top it off it's by far the worst Vietnamese I've EVER had in my life. Pho broth tasted of middle eastern spices such as cardamom and star of anise, it was bizarre and it was also a dark grey color upon arrival. Their chicken wings were absurdly dry and flavorless and some still had small feathers on them which the staff refused to take off my bill or exchange for new wings. My moms wonton had inedible bits that cut her gums and the added veggies were all pickled which greatly altered the flavor of a traditional dish. I wouldnt return to this location even if dinner was free. Luckily the location in Fleetwood is perfection, I'll return to that location hands down. read more

This is my favourite Vietnamese restaurant. Located in the strip mall now known as "The Korean mall." Unlike most pho joints this one has a beautiful dining room. It looks fresh out of restaurant make-over. The service is always fast and friendly. Prices are very low here but quality is high. A bowl of pho is about $6. Rice plates $8.50. Noodle plates $7.50 I've been eating here for a couple years and never had a bad dish or needed to send something back to the kitchen. Pork Chop Rice plate. This is my favorite place to get my bun bo hue - spicy pho. It's absolutely delicious and I keep on ordering that every time I go back. On the other hand, I tried their lemon grass chicken which to me and the husband, does not taste like lemon grass. It's got some kind of curry flavor to it, which is slightly interesting but it didn't satisfy my taste buds for the lemon grass flavor that I wanted. Their restaurant is very clean and it's a nice pho restaurant. They got booths as well as tables with chairs. It's very comfortable here. I also love their wide array of items on their menu. Went there today for the fitst and last time. Ordered the Banh mi and an ice coffee to go. Something I've ordered many timed before at countless restaurants in many countries. The first clue that this wasn't going to be a good sandwich came with the first bite. The bread was very doughy, making it chewy rather than the nice crispy French bread that should be used, then the flavour of the meat hit me, it had a strange curry powder taste instead of the usual lemongrass hint normally assosiated with Vietnamese BBQ pork, and the final nail in the coffin was the pickled chillies instead of nice fresh ones normally used. Very disappointing sandwich will definitely not be going there again. read more

Rating is 3.5 stars, not 3.0. Love the fact that this place is open late. They are open until 11:00pm instead of the regular 9:00pm. Tuesdays we have a weekly event that brings us back home around 9:30, and because we hadn't eaten anything for dinner by that point, this was a welcome sight. I usually go for a house special in any pho restaurant. Huge points for the generous portions of various meats and noodles. Also picked up a 'combo roll' for my husband - a shrimp salad roll, fried meat roll and a roll that looked like it was noodles and vegetables rolled up in some kind of luncheon meat. Not a bad price for $7.50. Pho was somewhere in the vicinity of $10.00. Again, pretty reasonable. The pho was good, with lots of accompaniments (sprouts, hot chilis, hoisin and sriracha in a bag). Tons of meat. The only thing I was a bit taken aback on was the colour of the broth. It was quite a bit darker than other broths I've had, and a bit sweeter. Unsure if they added extra seasonings to the broth, but it was a bit more complex than what I'm used to and I didn't enjoy it as much as the broth at Pho Hiillton up the street. Definitely not inedible - actually, quite the opposite - I just prefer the broth elsewhere, that's all. Service was a wee bit slow for a nearly empty restaurant - approximately 20 minutes for an order of pho and the combo roll for takeout, but it was VERY friendly and not something to make a stink over. Our family and many others had to endure excessive waits for our food to arrive. The problem does not appear to be an issue related to not enough staff, it is more about their focus on fulfilling take out orders and those for food delivery services at the expense of those customers dining in. We ended up cancelling our order after 45 mins with no food to arrive. Many other customers were also complaining and probably not far behind us in doing the same. Hey, you want good, standard Vietnamese in a clean, modern environment with friendly staff? Here it is. I wouldn't consider this a place for special occasions, but it consistently delivers in some areas. The friendliness of the staff and cleanliness of the place are head and shoulders above most Vietnamese places, and there is almost always a table. The flavours aren't as amazing as other, more hole-in-the-wall places, but sometimes you just want the warmth and security of a decent meal in a nice environment. For example, this is one of few Vietnamese places without a huge, blaring TV. :) It feels like chain restaurant, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. Consistency can be comforting. read more

This is my favorite place to get pho, and they also have other dishes that I like and order quite often. The staff is very nice and welcoming, and I always get my food quickly. The portions are very big for the price; I can never finish even the small bowl of pho. If you get some spring rolls and a drink then the bill can add up pretty quickly but that is the case at any restaurant. read more

Customer service is horrible... Staff is not friendly and never smiles, don't know if they are just having a bad day. I ordered a bowl of pho that is topped with rare beef, tripe and tendon. When the food came I saw the rare beef was already cooked(not suppose to be) but I just continued to add the beansprouts and what not. Then I noticed that the noodle portion was pretty small for a large bowl and that there was ONLY one peice of beef tendon. I called the server order to tell her and all she said was that's how it is and walked off. I will never come to this restaurant again and won't recommend to anyone. read more

I've been several times to this place. I really enjoyed the wonton until this pat time it was full of onion cores and Unchopped huge pieces of Bok Choy. The bean sprouts they brought out were mostly brown so I didn't use them. Finally the sun comes out and it was inedible. Was very very greasy yet bun was very crunchy. I let the server know and she told me this is just how they are. I ordered them at least once a week & she did nothing to fix it. We won't be returning. Flies in our soup :( Tried this restaurant for the first time as our usual place is closed, so ordered delivery through DoorDash. As soon as we opened the knotted plastic bag a black fly flew out of the order, which had to have come from the restaurant as the bag was tied shut. After moving from East Vancouver (little Saigon), I was worried I wouldn't be able to find decent Vietnamese food in Cloverdale. Though it isn't the best I've ever had, it's pretty darn good.
