Nice little restaurant in the strip mall on 24th avenue . Ordered 2 number 9 Banh Mi sandwiches ahead of time on our way to the dog park . They where ready on arrival approximately 8-10 minutes . They where warm fresh and delicious. The baguette was soft and warm , the meat hot and tasty the veggies where crisp and plentiful. It was a great snack to get us through our hike , just what we needed . I will definitely be back and try other menu items. Staff was friendly and inviting . read more

One of my favourite pho restaurants because of simplicity + delicious food. A lot of Pho restaurants will overcharge for their servings and will lack that true Vietnamese taste. Not bad pho. I am pretty new to South Surrey/White Rock area and was pretty disappointed when I didn't see a vietnamese restaurant around. I happened to come across this place when I went to the strip mall with the liquor store in. The place isn't very big; I would say there are about 10 tables. The service is prompt and quick. I got the pho and it was pretty yummy. I got the large and the portion was pretty big. We also got the salad rolls and the spring rolls and they were both good. The peanut sauce was pretty peanutty and the vinaigrette sauce for the spring rolls were tangy and sweet, a perfect combination. I will be back to sample more of their stuff. read more

I just had the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant the owner and waitress was so rude to me I order brisket pho and and pork sub o was with my son first of all she gave him a dirty cup and when I ask for another cup of water she was clearly annoyed that I ask and the sub came and the meat tasted rotten even the meat in the soup had a funny taste so I sent back my son sub and the owner told me I had to pay for it or take it home and throw it in the trash cause it's not his fault that I didn't like it I paid for the food although it was really bad I think since I showed up as soon as they open they gave me whatever was there from the day before please stay way from this place they will get you sick and you'd still have to pay for the disgusting food I will never go back!!!! read more

Probably being a bit generous b/c just delighted finding an authentic Vietnamese place in this neck of the woods....ok, compared to Vancouver, it's still in a busy area @ Peninsula Village, however, this one is the only pho place to be seen within eyeing distance lol. Ordered their #12 Special of course, a bit of everything; no problem asking for less rare meat and more meatballs. It's actually a cozier atmosphere than those hole in the walls back in Vancouver's Kingsway street. Located in this huge strip mall so at least, it feels clean lol. Friendly service. Loved their salad rolls! Peanut dipping sauce is so good! Place is clean and service is good too :) Update: Salad rolls were still good. The rest was disappointing. Short rib dinner ($13) came with a scoop of plain white rice, a pickled salad and 2 strips of ribs that we're all bone and no meat. Very disappointing, I literally had 2 bites and then left the rest on my plate. My dining partner had the pho and he said it was really good. read more

My only quarrel with moving out to South Surrey after being a long-time resident of Kitsilano was my fear of the lack of Asian cuisine. I was put at ease when I found a couple of good sushi restaurants near our new home (Sushi Castle is a favorite), but the next challenge was finding a go-to Vietnamese restaurant to head to after a night of heavy patio drinking in White Rock with friends. We've tried a couple of other Vietnamese restaurants in the area, but so far Pho Sunrise is definitely my favorite as well as the most reasonably priced. The Pho broth is delicate and delish and my boyfriend has never strayed from ordering it each time we go. I've had the wonton soup which was excellent as well as a grilled pork and short-rib rice dish and my now trusty (like I'm salivating thinking about it / get it twice per week / it made me book a trip to Vietnam, trusty) dish is #41... the vermicelli bowl with spring roll and pork brochette. Literally the minute I was done a cleanse last week I ripped over to Pho Sunrise to get my fix and it proved delicious as always. Fresh vegetables, excellent spring rolls, deliciously marinated meat, tender noodles and outrageously good nuoc cham... like I let my spring roll piece sit in there so I can soak it up and kind of drink it without really drinking it kind of good. You understand? Service is fast and friendly. There is a TV usually showing sports. Prices are fair. Go! read more

This is my favourite Vietnamese restaurant in South Surrey for pho. Conveniently located in the Peninsula Village with lots of parking. I love the pho here; soup is clear with plenty of yummy meats. The basil served alongside is always fresh and they are more than happy to provide extra if requested. We visit this place primarily for pho on a regular basis; however a few other menu items tried were equally good. The place is clean; wait staff always friendly; definitely our go to place when craving for a hot bowl of comforting pho without having to drive into Richmond or Vancouver. read more

My wife and I have been kind and loyal customers to this restaurant, up until today. Being scolded and made to be felt belittled by the boss was the last thing both I and my wife expected this morning. The owner/manager: 1) commented that he doesn't like seeing my wife waste his food by not finishing the noodles, 2) was rude when addressing us, in the middle of our meal, about my wife wasting food 3) mentioned it not once, not twice, but three times.... the final slam was when I was paying the bill. I couldn't believe what I was hearing! My wife is 90 lbs and does her best to finish her food. Until today we have been telling everyone about how much we enjoy spending our very precious, very limited time together at Pho Sunrise. We have always been nice, friendly and tip our servers. For the record: We arrived at our usual table, just after they open at 10:30am, and was greeted by the owner. As usual, he and I said hello and he complimented me on how nice I looked. My wife went to wash her hands, and it was then when he asked why my wife orders a large soup but doesn't finish the noodles. I explained that a large soup affords her more meat than a small. He suggested she order a small, and pay a dollar more for meat. Good idea! Never heard about this option, so I took him up on this idea. He passed by our table once to check on us, and made a comment about not wasting food. And when I went to the counter to pay the bill, he asked me to "make sure she eats all of food". We left the restaurant, my wife became upset, so I called the owner to explain. He played dumb, I hung up, and he has not called me back to apologize three hours later. Instead of dropping a few grand in his pocket every year, we will go somewhere where we are appreciated. This is the first time in my life that I have been treated like a child when I eat at a restaurant. And for making my wife cry, I am confident that we will never return. read more

Went here the other night, staff was very friendly and the restaurant was very presentable.. Food was full if flavour. The salad roll wasn't just stuffed with letter and noodles like most Viet places. They had Viet style sausage and shrimp inside making it actually more taste and not large looking. I ordered the beef noodle small, which was actually a fair sized portion. The broth was taste, not much msg inside, and the beef you could see was actually raw when delivered, not like some places that serve it with cooked beef. My fiance ordered the vermicelli bowl, which was also a very good sized portion. My only recommendation would be lower prices, as the prices were a bit high. read more

Such a nice pleasant surprise to find good Vietnamese food in South Surrey. The Pork and Spring roll on vermicelli (#41) was very tasty. The nuoc cham was a good mixture of sweet, salty and spicy hot and so I went for the "pour" (poured right into the bowl to make a soup consistency - - Delish!) Pho wasn't too bad, but it wasn't great. I'd been craving Pho for a while and this didn't really hit the spot. I had the shrimp pho and hubby haf the grilled chicken Vietnamese sub which he thought was seriously on point. We shared a salad roll and it was ok, but nothing to write home about. read more

I love ethnic hole-in-the-wall restaurants. If you don't then take a star off the rating. But this one serves good solid food at reasonable prices and provides smiling service while you eat. The place is clean, without unpleasant odours and the food is hot and plentiful. Sometimes the hardest restaurants to find are the regular neighbourhood places for a good meal that doesn't break the bank. This is one of those. read more

Came into this nifty little pho restaurant expecting a good meal. Was extremely disappointed. Service was horrible there were six of us. We asked for waters and teas all around. First time they came with two teas, second trip 6 waters, third trip two more teas and the last trip halfway through our meal they finally came with our final two teas. All the while two tables that came in after us were served first even though we had ordered first. When the food finally arrived we were told there were no bean sprouts left. We asked for a discount. None was given. The next table to be served was given bean sprouts. We didn't complain simply observed the fact. Near the end of are meal we found hairs in the soup. Disgusted we asked for a free meal. They offered a 20 percent discount. Probably the worst pho restaurant I have ever been to. read more
