Massive banhmi!! The bread was absolutely perfect, crispy flakey, soft. Just perfect. Great mix of veg and good amount of filling. Super friendly and quick service. Also very reasonably priced for the quality! Tofu salad roll was also very tasty, even had avocado in it. The peanut sauce was a bit thin and sweet for my liking but overall I had a great experience here and will definitely bring friends! Just a quaint store with a few small tables but very clean and accommodating with parking in the back!
Ordered take out and the deluxe cold cut was huge. Bread was fresh, meat was a great amount and it wasn't too overly saucy. Everything had the right amount. Coffee was super strong today, maybe because I didn't let the ice melt enough. Enjoyed it.
I'm glad my friend suggested coming here for Banh mi. Otherwise I'd never have known the actual entrance is on Newton street, not kingsway. I've driven past it when traveling on kingsway and always wondered where I can park. Now I know, on Newton where there is a small parking lot outside the shop. The place is clean and bright, with tables for 2 along the narrow walkway. Maybe around 3-4 tables total? Most people do take out here. We had the halal lemongrass chicken banh mi and it was very tasty. Unfortunately as with most Banh mi, I'd get hungry after a couple of hours even though I was full after devouring it.
The sandwich is inexpensive here. I came over to grab: 1) Lemongrass Chicken combo (comes with pop and springroll) 2) Beef Sata sandwich 3) Extra springroll I found their bun very thick and a lot more bread. It was nicely toasted. The sandwiches itself were very tasty. I love the springrolls. They were nice and crispy. You can tell everything is freshly made upon ordering. I do wish there were a bit more fillings inside the sandwich. Overall, the sandwiches were tasty and I do recommend coming here. I ordered online and so I had a code to save 5% GST off of my food order. Note: I came here during the winter and their parking lot is basically full of black ice. So please becareful and I recommend driving so you can park as close to teh restaurant as possible.
For the love of baguettes and coffee! Extra strong coffee!! I'm obsessed! Discovered them a year ago in their Surrey location while driving to whistler. It was still Covid era: it was a small takeout only location. Very small. I didn't know what to expect so I took a handful of banhmi and 2 bottles of their coffee plus a cup Togo. First of all: the price!! So reasonable! It was all I thought about in whistler! There's no such coffee there or banhmi. Or for anything in that price range that taste good. I missed them on the way back too. But since then! I made sure to stop by on all my van city trip! Same thing here: I flew into YVR from YYZ last week. I wanted some food but didn't wanna go into downtown at 5 pm. Luckily I found this on my way to dinesty dumpling! This place was So much nicer than the other obanhmis ( Surrey and downtown Vancouver). Seems bigger. The guy that's working there was super nice too. Even pour me a coffee while I took a video! This time around: I'm not messing around. I got 4 bottles of coffee (12 ozs) and 1 banhmi. Coffee matters! They have expiration dates on them and it's actually still good till tomorrow! Not bad at all. I've never stored Vietnamese coffee in fridge before. Mainly because they never came in a bottle nor have I bought as many! Banh mi was good. Cafe sua da was even better! For the love of strong chicory ice coffee!! Yumm!!
Newest location in Burnaby with plenty of parking at the back. It's quite hidden from the front (behind a bush), so if you're driving, I'd recommend parking at the back as it's a busy street (Kingsway) at the front. They already have several locations, but this was my first time trying them. Simple and clean interior with 2 friendly staff when I arrived in the morning to pick up my order. There was a line up (Saturday morning), so I would definitely recommend ordering ahead if you have a larger order and don't want to wait. I ordered online through their website (they also have a point system, 10 points = 1 free banh mi) the night prior, and set the pickup for 10:15am on a Saturday. I was very impressed by how easy it was to order online, and how accurate the pickup time was - I also received an email update at ~10am notifying me that my order was ready. My order: Lemongrass Chicken: one of my favourites - tender and juicy chicken with pickled vegi's on a soft bun (chewy outside). Deluxe Cold Cut: classic banh mi, with several layers of Vietnamese ham & creamy mayo. This one does not come with pickled vegis, but it's still one of my top picks. Honey Garlic Chicken: unfortunately, I couldn't really tell the difference between this and the lemongrass chicken, but it was still good. Sate Beef: Pieces of marinated beef, subtly on the sweet side. Sort of reminds me of Soo Jerky, but it wasn't dry. Vietnamese Coffee (bottle & cup): strong, smooth and delicious. I preferred the bottle as I could save it for later (I mixed it with regular coffee the next day). The cup is ~$1 cheaper, and comes with ice, which waters down the taste if I don't drink it fast enough. Mango Smoothie: fruity and sweet, blended smoothly Overall, I'd highly recommend the lemongrass chicken, cold cut and Vietnamese coffee. Super fast & easy to order online and reasonable prices too.
The banh mi are very goood the bread is toasted right. The meat is goood too and plus the relish is perfect . The service is nice and friendly too. I'm coming back.....oh! Maybe you can modify the menu like adding pho. Just friendly advice
Hello to the new "subway" in town! It is a hidden gem please do go and try it if you haven't yet. Let's dig right in: my family ordered deluxe cold cut, satay beef and honey garlic chicken. Satay beef (3.5/5) - I find the sauce was too spicy and it overpower the overall flavor of the sub Honey garlic chicken (5/5) - I find the chicken wasn't dry and it was very flavorful. Very yummy and it was my wife favorite. Deluxe cold cut (6/5)- hallelujah! If you love over sub this will blow your find out of water. It is so enjoyable and after first bite you will feel you craving for a second bite. You don't feel greasy. It is my personal ultimate favorite sub. Hope you guys will have the same experience I had. I will definitely come back for some more!

It's been long overdue.. I finally tried Obanhmi Shop! Several of the Vancouver foodies I follow on IG have always posted rave reviews and it has been on my must-try list since forever (even fiancé has had it before). It only took this new Burnaby location for me to finally check it off my list! Now I'm asking myself why it took me so long.. they were all so good! I tried 3: Lemongrass Chicken (Ga Sa), Saté Beef (Bo Sate), and Deluxe Cold Cut (Dac Biet). I really loved them all. I also must say that these sandwiches seem bigger to me vs other banh mi shops (big bonus)! Each sandwich had it own unique deliciousness. I absolutely loved their Vietnamese saté sauce in the Saté Beef. The spice really gave it a good kick! I also really liked how they marinated their Lemongrass Chicken.. full of flavour! I preferred the Saté Beef over the Lemongrass Chicken while fiancé preferred the reverse.. but the clear favourite for both of us was Deluxe Cold Cut! Packed with quality ingredients and everything blended so well together. Obanhmi has instantly become one of my top spots for banh mi. I will definitely be ordering again very soon. Don't be like me and wait this long to try!
I never tried banhmi before and after checking Obanhmi's review on Yelp, I decided to give it a go. I ordered one Classic and one Chicken lemongrass. The portion, the price, the taste was on point !! This is truly everything I'm looking for in a sandwich. You can stop checking the reviews now, go try one or more ! I forgot to take a picture when I first got it but here is what was left :)
No frills kind of place to get banhmi. Slightly confusing entrance, this is on Newton! Not on Kingsway. Make sure to do a quick search before hand to avoid a mixup. Banhmi itself hit the spot. We got a good amount of ingredients in our sandwiches. Looked like most people get their sandwiches to go. There were a few tables inside to eat in. Definitely a quick in and out style kind opf place. read more
Awesome bamh mi place close to Metrotown that is very affordable. They do sit-in and take-out and food is made pretty quickly. The staff are also very nice. The street-side entrance is pretty sketchy-looking and we totally went by the place the first time even though we were looking for it because of how barricaded-up it looked. But once you get inside, it's very cosy. There's a huge electronic menu right behind where you order, which is great. I don't have to dquint to read everything! For sure a small place, they have quite a bit of selection for food. The banh mi comes as just a sandwich or as a meal with spring rolls and a can of pop. I got the garlic beef one which was amazing. They are very generous with the meat, mine had at least 4 or 5 whole slices throughout. My boyfriend had the deluxe classic which was also delicious and huge. Takes me at least 3 bites to cover the width of the banh mi to try all the toppings! I definitely want to go again and try the lemongrass options next time. read more

New Obanhmi location close to Metrotown. We came in 10 min before they close (8pm) and they were still happy to make our banh mi orders! Delicious and satisfying. We ordered the Vegetarian/Vegan and Lemongrass Chicken banh mi. Both were yum! Quick service, made within minutes. Friendly staff. Cute interior. Affordable. Takeout ok, nice minimal paper packaging. read more
