After my amazing experience here the first time I had to come back! This time ordered my favourite Vietnamese staple, beef pho, and spring rolls. The crab spring rolls were so delicious I don't think I've ever had spring rolls this good. Beef pho was also decent. The restaurant is this cute little spot with good seatings one in a chair and one on the bench. Perfect volume of background music to still be able to have a conversation or go for a date night. The service was fast, and our server was so nice!

Came here from a recommendation from a friend and was enlightened! The bun cha is perfect, from the grilled pork to the soup richness and even chilies. The sauces already on the table were an additional highlight. Service here is incredible, the staff are attentive and friendly and genuinely make sure you have a good meal and good atmosphere. Seating is limited, but it wasn't too busy in the late evening after the dinner rush

Finally get to try out the place as we walked by many times with many customers. Unfortunately the best thing for this place is the service. Nice decor. Overall acceptable cleanliness. The menu offers quite a bit of choices. Low sodium option is not available. The salad roll with a loose sauce is easy to dip into. The lemongrass grilled chicken noodle soup is disappointing. Chicken is way over cooked without much of lemongrass flavor. The texture of chicken is odd - very mushy and unappetizing. The special vermicelli set is not that special at all. All dishes are small and the vermicelli is quite dry if not dipping into the meat sauce, which is quite greasy. We'd likely visit another Vietnamese place just around the corner on Davie Street instead of this. Not recommend.

So happy to finally make it back here! Tre Viet hosted a very successful Yelp Elite event and the food was so great that I've been wanting to return for ages. It's just really far from where I live! My pork slices with rice dish was amazing and such a big portion! Ordered cha gio and mango slushie while my friend ordered pho. Great service and it was so busy while we were there, I'm pleased to see that business is doing well.

Great food and service. We got the chicken and beef pho, pork spring rolls, and the salted egg beef ball. Service was friendly and attentive. Would come back.

2nd time coming here and it was great! Ordered: Bún chả Hà Nội- THIS WAS SO GOOD! Highly recommend trying this dish their sauce isn't too salty. Add some bun and veggies together and scoop the sauce and meat mix it up together= perfection. Bún nem cua bể- first time trying this dish and it was so yummy I really like the crab patty. Pho tai nam- as good as I remembered my bowl was loaded with so much meats! It got kind of chaotic in the morning bc customers kept coming in and it was so busy so our food took a while to come out. Overall my family and I enjoyed dining here and we would love to come back next time!

Great selection of Vietnamese dishes, including pho, vermicelli rice noodles, char broiled chicken and pork, and Banh mi sandwiches. The Bun Cha Hanoi was a good serving of Vietnamese grilled ground pork balls, charred pork, in an interesting sweet and sour soup base, with vermicelli rice noodles on the side. Soup could have been much hotter temperature wise. The grilled chicken Banh mi had tender tasty chicken pieces in a nice crunchy baguette. A bit pricier than places on Kingsway and Victoria, but reasonable for the west end. Service was friendly in this clean, tidy restaurant.

Went here a few times with different groups of people and always had good experience. Probably my favourite Vietnamese restaurant in town, and I couldn't point a single dish when anyone was unsatisfied about their order. Some of my personal favourites include the bun cha and pho. Another reason I like this place is that they have plenty of vegan or vegetarian available.

    Pho chay (Veggie pho; vegan)
    Matt B.

Small place right on Denman. I'd been to the old Vietnamese place in this location, but this was my first visit under new ownership. I came to try their Pho chay ($15.95 plus tax). The place was totally full when I visited, other than a couple spots at the counter, which I sat at. The pho came out in about 10 minutes. You get a good portion of medium-width rice noodles, broccoli, carrot, oyster mushrooms, lotus root, and deep fried tofu cubes. The broth was on the bland side though, hence the rating here. Given the high standard for veggie pho in Vancouver, the broth on this one just doesn't compete. Decent spot, friendly service; but if you're looking for veggie pho nearby, better go to nearby Ong Ba (or even Viet Sub or Q&M).

Pho Bo Vien Trung Muoi - just ask for the salted egg one.

Food & Service was amazing here! They are still doing a soft opening type service so were quite attentive to patrons. When we were there, there was only one other table so we were not battling for attention. Small space with a few tables. Close to the beach so likely a full house when weather is nice. Pho Bo Vien Trung Muoi - Definitely don't see this on many menus in the lower mainland . Salted egg/ rare beef/brisket/beef ball in a warm bowl of soup with noodles. Perfect for any day. Originally ordered their Bun Nem Cua Be but since they ran out, they offered me the leftover 2 hanoi crispy crab parcel with the Bun Cha did the same price. Couldn't say no. Talk about customer service. Both were delicious. The Bun Cha is definitely one of my favorites in Vancouver. Pricing is pretty standard for your Vietnamese places these days. Will definitely return to try some of their appetizers and other mains.

    Sinh to bo to-go

I ordered nuoc cam vat (or fresh orange juice) during a Yelp Elite Event and it was divine. Amazingly sweet and had a good amount of pulp. The flavour was exactly what I was expecting. I also got my partner sinh to bo (avocado smoothie) which was good, but a little too icy for my preference -- not very creamy. It could also be a little more sweet. The service was great despite the restaurant being completely full and bustling. It can get quite loud in there when it's full, but it's still really nice. Great decorations, comfy booth seats. Check out my review on the "Yelp Elite Event: Tre Viet" for more about the food!

Pho-tastic! As is the case with most, if not all, things in life, first impressions matter a lot when trying out new cuisines, restaurants, dishes et al. Thanks to Tre Viet, I had the pleasure of going on an unforgettable culinary adventure in what was my first ever rendezvous with Vietnamese food (gasp! Where have you been all my life?!). I'm finally out of the lengthy food coma that was induced during said dinner a fortnight ago, hence this delayed review! This neat and new local small business is just a few months young. Akin to the location of the Vietnamese island in Southeast Asia, Tre Viet is tucked away in the bustling and happening West End neighborhood of Vancouver. With paid parking lots and street spots in the vicinity, getting to this retreat is easy peasy. I lucked out by finding a 2 Hours Free parking spot a couple of blocks away (though parallel parking on Denman St is nerve-wracking!). Needless to say, the evening was off to a great start! Thankfully I was not the only one in my group who was going to be trying this cuisine for the first time, so sharing a table and the yummy food with Vietnamese food vets and newbies ensured that the entire evening was fun and delightful. Soon after the elaborate menu got us drooling, the magicians masquerading as the fantastic Tre Viet staff started serenading us with magical dish after dish after delish. And I was blown away by the beautiful plating of the items, the heavenly aroma, and the complexity and depth of flavors in every dish. We started with the Sai Gon Imperial Spring Rolls which were crispy and fresh, setting the tone for an incredible meal. The Tre Specialties platter was a highlight, with the Bun Cha Ha Noi Style Vermicelli Noodles and charred pork slices being a standout. The pork meatball was tender and flavorful, and the Bun Nem Cua Be Ha Noi Style Vermicelli Noodles with crisp crab parcel was another delightful surprise. The Grilled Lemongrass Chicken Rice Plate was aromatic and savory, and the Tre's Special Soup with salted superior egg beef ball was rich and comforting, especially on that cold, overcast evening. But the pièce de résistance was the Pho Noodle Soup, with its velvety broth and tender beef. Throughout the meal, Jamie and his team of kind and attentive staff Annie, Chloe, Taylor, and head chef Tony worked tirelessly to deliver a master class in hospitality. With additional ingredients such as a cozy atmosphere plus a warm and inviting ambiance thrown in, this heartening mixture was the perfect recipe for a memorable dinner. Tre Viet has won me over, so they've earned a well-deserved 5 stars and a permanent spot on my favorite restaurants list! I can't wait to return with my wife and explore more of the menu. If you're a Vietnamese food newbie like I was, or a seasoned fan, this hidden gem is a must-visit.

we came by on sunday a little after 1:00 pm and this place was full and there was a crowd outside. glad to see that tre viet is doing well, but we had to wait approximately 30 to 45 minutes to get a seat. jamie took my name and number down, so we took a lazy stroll and explored the stores and restaurants around denman and english bay. we were seated at 2:00 pm and was promised they would add another table as soon as the other party next to us left. we were a party of three and had ordered the anchovy chicken wings to share. i had their refreshingly thirst quenching calamansi iced tea, and grilled chicken banh mi. the baguette was crusty and had a nice soft chew. i enjoyed the flavours and textures of the grilled chicken with pickled carrots and daikon along with their tre viet mayo, fresh cucumber and cilantro.

The space is much nicer, with high ceilings and lots of light - great looking bistro. I ended up trying the following: - Mussels: Very good. Classic dish, but I really like the use of cream in the broth. - Bánh Mì Cay Hải Phòng (Spicy Baguette Sticks): Good. A nice little snack, although it would be easy to recreate at home. - Lamb Chops: Very good. Cooked just right, and the pepper sauce added extra flavour. - Fried Frog Legs: Very good. This was probably the surprise dish for me. They weren't just the legs, but the entire bottom of the frog, so the pieces were huge. The garlic, butter and chili flakes gave it a extra punch. I really enjoyed this one. - Pho Bo: Good. Not the best pho I've had, but it's good enough to stand on it's own. Service was quite good. Very cheerful and quite attentive. Overall a nice meal. It's a great space, the food is solid, and service to match. What I really like is having the variety of both French and Vietnamese dishes, without either of them suffering in quality. Only downside is that is it expensive for what you get.

The menu isnt big but they do have a reasonable selection of items but mostly dinner entrees We ordered a mini version of pho bo (beef broth pho), french escargot and the spicy baguette stick. The bone broth was good and the price for the mini version is good for a light lunch. We both enjoyed the spicy baguette stick with the pork pate. A pleasant surprise. However i find the escargot a bit pricey with the quantity and the way it was prepared. Slightly too oily to my personal prefence The iced vietnamese coffee we ordered tasted similar to a regular iced coffee, missing the sweet condensed milk flavor for a vietnamese coffee

My wife and I stopped in for dinner one evening and each ordered the aforementioned noodle soup--she got a small ($11.75 plus tax) and I got a regular ($12.75 plus tax). We also got an order of salad rolls ($7.50 plus tax), which comes with 2 rolls. The rolls came quite late. They were pretty standard, coming with fried tofu, vermicelli, and lettuce. The peanut dipping sauce was on the liquidy, salty soy sauce side of things -- I wish it were creamier and less salty. 3/5 The soups were decent. The broth was peppery, with some nice, gentle spices detectable in there. I asked for a side of chili oil, which helped amplify the broth. You get a generous portion of noodles, fried tofu, and vegetables (broccoli, bok choy, carrot). Unfortunately the veggies were quite overcooked -- the broccoli was almost soggy, so were the carrots and bok choy. 3/5 All in all, middle-of-the-road veggie pho. The broth is pleasant. The veggies were overcooked, but plentiful and nicely chosen. Decent place for veggie pho.
