This spot used to be called Pho Today. It used to be great and my go to spot when I didn't feel like going to Pho 75. Now this location is under new management and it is horrible. The staff is under experienced and can't seem to handle a lunch rush. It is 1:30pm on a Sunday. The ginger guy who works here is also quite rude and not hospitable. They adapted a new kiosk for ordering food instead of ordering in person. That system is quite confusing. We ordered 3 orders of extra meat with our pho but the servers only brought out one. As we sat here, we also noticed that a few orders at different tables were also mistaken. A staple to order when at a Vietnamese restaurant would be the Vietnamese coffee. Do not, and I repeat, DO NOT order it from here. It tastes more like I was drinking 80:20 condensed milk. I ordered the pho bytes pho (combination). The soup here is not flavorful at all. It literally tastes like they just threw hot water with fish sauce into it. The wait was about 20-30 minutes. A standard pho restaurant will have the soup base made and ready in the back. Over all I wouldn't recommend this spot to anyone I know anymore. It's too Americanized and no longer what I would consider an authentic Vietnamese restaurant. read more

Found hair in pho but no apology given. Kept saying it's no problem I'll give you refund and brought cash for one soup, put on the table and took off. Serving pho with hair is disgusting enough but acting like giving a refund w/o apology resolves the situation makes it worse. The worst experience in twenty years in living in this area. I order from their online platform and send my husband for pickup rather than brave the line inside the store. Covid hasn't kept away many of the customers so we try to keep our orders during the off-times to avoid those congregating you order or pick up. The portions of soup to beef to noodles to sprouts to condiments are perfect and the lovely staff have never once failed to send a large-bowled spoon, napkin, and chopsticks in our to-go packaging. Clean tasting food and establishment. Ordered the #3 Pho (custom) with Flank, Brisket and Steak. The bean sprouts tail ends were also removed, which many restaurants don't take the time to do and elevated the experience that much more! Temperature of soup was perfect (very hot which is how Pho should be!). Also, ordered the Grilled Pork with Rice and the meat was tender and flavorful. Dropped in for pho and found it to be among the very best we have had in many other Vietnamese restaurants in Northern Virginia. I had my usual sliced flank steak and my wife had white meat chicken. To begin, the server brought a carafe of cold water and two ice-filled mason jars with handles....a nice touch. The pho bowls were large and had plentiful noodles and meat. The broth was excellent, not too weak and not too strong. The restaurant is slightly pricier than most Viet ones, but worth it. I went to have lunch at the restaurant today. We always come here and never get disappointed. Unfortunately today the soup is full of noodles and less soup. My husband's glass of water is dirty and has something inside the glass we assumed it from the ice machine. My husband told the server she took the glass away and never say anything or even sorry. The server brought us a new glass but we kind of done with it. We want to see the responsible of the manager or the owner. We did not expect any free meals or anything but at least someone would take responsible for that. You can not serve the dirty food or drink to the customers. Much better than Pho Today! Folks here are very friendly and greeted customers as they walk in (they understand customer service). Restaurant is new, modern and clean. During cold weather, there's nothing better than a piping hot bowl of Pho noodle soup. They utilize a point of sale system where tipping is optional. Their ordering system needs some work but hopefully they'll get better with time and experience. Their Pho was good but not great. Pho 75 is still #1 in my book (full of bold flavor and lots of fresh cut meat)! My bowl of Pho here was very hot (which is excellent) but it was lacking flavor and had very little meat. To the owners: Please add more flavor to your already piping hot Pho broth and definitely more fresh cut meat (it'll be perfect then). Love this place for the convenience, great food, and great service. I highly recommend their "Joy Rolls" (a variation of nem nuong aka pork rolls) - they named it after a child, who on her bday had a special custom order - I'm telling you it's delicious and the right balance of flavors, genius. Their pho and rolls are simple yet flavorful, no extra unnecessary frills. Their banh mi are pretty tasty as well. We've dined here multiple times in the past and now amidst the pandemic, their service and food quality still remains high. I especially liked that you can order took to-go orders in the kiosks, so it makes sense that they easily adapted to online-only orders during this time. Everyone we encountered was also so nice and pleasant and parking is plentiful. I've done take out twice with Pho Bytes and both times were great! Food is really good and well worth the price and I love the fact that you can pick your meat choices for the pho as well. I would love to go back and try the Joy rolls next time when I'm feeling more hungry but their entree portion size is pretty big so it's hard to make room for appetizers lol. I had Pho Today once before and thought it was good. Pho Bytes is modern and definitely attractive to a younger crowd I think. Works for anyone who wants to order on their own from a kiosk (pictures and deals all shown), although I find service at most pho places pretty fast. The kiosk was easy to use, and after ordering I just sat down anywhere with a number. Fast service and nice staff brought our my drink and food. I did see some people just sit down and the owner took their order from the table, so it's not like kiosks are the only way to order. As for the pho, I thought it was okay. I got a lunch special which was a small bowl of pho (choose up to 4 meats), egg roll (or shrimp summer roll), and a soda. I like this place and Grilled lemongrass chicken dish is my favorite menu item at this place. But when I got almost cold/cool temperature chicken for the second time at this place, I thought I should post this review. Chicken was fully cooked so I wasn't concerned about getting salmonella or anything but you could tell they reheat chicken that's been in the refrigerator but didn't heat it up fully as it was NOT hot AT ALL. The first time this happened, about a month or so ago, the owner (I assumed he was) said he was very surprised and apologized multiple times. He had the kitchen brought out another plate of grilled chicken. Well, it happened again today. I got fully cooked yet cool/cold temperature grilled chicken again. Same owner guy wasn't there and I didn't feel like complaining to our waitress so we didn't say anything. It's really not her fault.... My boyfriend and I have come here every weekend for the past 2 months or so. I absolutely cannot get enough of Pho Bytes! The owners and co workers are so friendly, they make us feel like family. The food is absolutely incredible. Definitely the best Vietnamese food in the area for sure! I recommend the summer roll, and the pork vermicelli with egg rolls! UGH SOOOO GOOD You won't regret it! What an Amazing meal! Some highlights from our order were the Ginger Tenderized Eye Round Steak Pho, Grilled Pork Bánh Mì / Bánh Mì Heo Nng, Shrimp Ph / Ph Tôm, and Tofu Ph / Ph Đu H. Our family has a vegetarian, pescatarian and a couple meatarians (myself being one them). It's difficult to find a restaurant we all like. The Tofu was crispy yet still soaked up the veggie broth (wife's comments). I ran out of room for my first time but thank goodness I got the Grilled Pork Bánh Mì. My daughter and I split it. This place already has good pho that I've had multiple tImes when the place was called Pho Today (a golden opportunity was missed when it wasn't named "Live Pho Today" but I digress...) but I made an online order today for grab&go pickup and OMG. THE BANH MI. Was sooo good. I had the lemongrass chicken one and it had a good slathering of pâté in it, which upped the level like 5 levels. Without it would have been a good banh mi still but it was crazy delicious. Disclaimer: I'm not a banh mi connoisseur so maybe it's not that uncommon to put pâté in there and the other places I've been to in the past were just mediocre? Who knows. My go to Pho place but after seeing what I saw today, no more. Pho was sub-par, meat was chewy and this might not be a big deal to other people but the complementary water jars they give...they take the jars from the tables, after being used by customers and just refill them in the sink behind the cashier station without cleaning them and putting them back in the fridge out front to be chilled. And not even just taking empty jars from the tables, it will be half full from the previous customer and they will just top it off with the sink water and slap the top on and put it back in the fridge. Been going here almost since it's opening. The owners and staff are always so nice and the ambience is chill. My go-to is the ginger pho - I come here at least once a week for it! Was recommended to me by the owner and I was a little hesitant cuz I was scared that the ginger would overpower the flavor, but nope!! The flavor is on point - there's a perfect balance of ginger in the broth and it's soooo good, I'll never get sick of it, especially with the kick of some added sriracha.
