Mint Mojito Iced Coffee mmmm
Pierre C.

Philz is great! Ordered the mint mojito iced and it always, always delivers my fix. However I decided to try Jacob's Wonderbar with heavy cream and it was so good in a thick, dark, and serious flavor. I may try it with oat milk next time as I enjoy that flavor and texture for smoother and "creamy" toe drinks, but overall love that hint of smoke flavor. Not really a scotch whiskey peety campfire type flavor, but curiously nice to experience on my tastes buds. Thank you for the delicious coffees and the friendly staff!

Ambiance: it's located in the center of Glendale, and convenient to both the Galleria and Americana shopping centers Service: super friendly and patient with requests Drink: standard Philz coffee, with seasonal specials Tiramisu Latte Cold - **** Philtered Soul Cold Brew, tiramisu swirl, cocoa sprinkle, iced, refreshing taste, recommend Tiramisu Latte Hot - *** creamy, sweet sugar, hot, average Price: premium quality and reasonable prices, expect $6+ per drink

Philz is my usual go-to whenever I am out of town. It is just as reliable as Starbucks but way tastier! The staff was very nice, and she was offering her recommendations. The coffee shop itself was very crowded and loud, but that is to be expected since it is a popular coffee shop. I got the winter bliss and the gingersnap. Both were very good! The winter bliss is a cold brew which I don't normally like, but their cold brew was good!

Mocha Tesora

Stopped by Philz Coffee in Glendale and ordered the Mocha Tesora -- definitely a treat. It's rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced with that chocolatey depth and signature Philz boldness. Not overly sweet, which I appreciated -- just enough to feel indulgent without being heavy. The vibe inside was laid-back, with plenty of space to hang out or get some work done. Staff was friendly and took their time making the drink just right -- they always ask about sweetness and cream levels, which I love. If you're into custom-made coffee and want something a little more dessert-like without going full sugar bomb, the Mocha Tesora is a solid pick. Will definitely be back to try other blends!

Honey haze

I love coming to this Philz, especially before a big shopping day. I always grab a honey haze with oat milk, made house way(sweet & creamy) hits every time. The baristas here are consistently friendly, and the space is super open with plenty of seating. Plus, the location is hard to beat. Easily one of my favorite Philz location in LA and I'll definitely keep coming back.

Their coffee is good, but the menu is limited with not many options beyond the set items. Morning wait time was over 25 minutes even with only two people ahead of us because of large volume of online orders. I'll definitely opt to order ahead of arrival.

philz always has solid coffee. decided to tried the honey haze sweet and creamy instead of my usual mint mojito and it was delicious. side note - i just realized today that sweet and creamy is their full sugar and cream levels. there was the usual long line but the staff taking our orders and the barista were both friendly and pleasant. the wait time after ordering was only another 5 minutes or so and we walked around the americana after.

I didn't even need to look at the menu; I came to Philz specifically for their Mint Mojito! The drinks are customizable in terms of cream and sweetness. Since Philz has been on my list of bookmarks for years, I didn't want to risk messing up my order. That said, I consulted the cashier for the ideal balance to which she suggested medium levels for both. She also mentioned that they only serve pour over as opposed to espresso. For someone who is more sensitive to caffeine, this was actually good news to me, and I was extra pleased to hear that all their "featured creations" can be made decaf. As the barista called customers to grab their drinks, she had them try a sip first to confirm if it met their preferences. For example, if it wasn't sweet enough, she could add more sweetener. I really appreciate that she took the time to ask and this demonstrates how Philz prioritizes customer service. Mine was just right... no adjustments necessary! The ICED MINT MOJITO ($5.65 for medium) was everything I imagined and more. It was smooth with a minty finish and truly blissful down to the last sip. The flavor of the coffee together with the cream and freshness of the mint all melded together in a perfect harmony. Additionally, the amount of ice was just right, unlike other coffee shops I've been to where they fill your cup halfway with ice. This location is in a prime spot at The Americana at Brand shopping center and has a good amount of seating. Sadly, I was only able to visit once while in the area, but given another day, I would have stopped by again without a doubt.

The Mint Mojito is absolutely delicious! The mint leaves add a wonderfully refreshing touch, and the drink has the perfect balance of sweetness and creaminess. I highly recommend getting it the House Way. Baristas are friendly and attentive. There's a single register for ordering and customers can watch the baristas prepare their drink. Interior has lots of natural light coming in and there is plenty of seating. Music is on the louder side and has a more social vibe!

I sometimes stop by when it's hot, and I've noticed the sweetness level varies slightly by location. That said, every location I've visited has always been friendly, and the drinks are consistently good.

I swing by Philz Coffee whenever I am in Cali. They have yet to make their way to AZ. I usually grab a bag of beans with my drink when I come here so that I can brew some at home. It may take a little time, but I love that each drink is custom made right in front of you. The Mint Mojito Iced Coffee is so good and has been my favorite for years. I recently stopped by here and picked up a Spiced Vanilla Soul. It is one of their seasonal drinks and was one of the best Fall coffee drinks that I have ever had. Phil Jaber founded Philz Coffee in 2003. He spent years experimenting with various coffee beans from around the world to create over 30 different unique blends. He converted his San Francisco corner grocery store into his first coffeeshop and now has locations all over the U.S. I was first introduced to Philz Coffee by a friend that I visited in San Fran years ago. This shop in located in Downtown Glendale near the Museum of Neon Art. You can order ahead of time through the Philz mobile app. The staff was friendly as always when I stopped in.

Philz Coffee Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Philz Coffee

Where do I park to go here?

The Glendale Galleria has a parking garage! It's across the street from Philz but it's a pleasant walk.

Are there outlets?

Yes! They are fairly limited, but they are located on the floor beneath our community tables.

What's in the rose coffee?

Just their standard coffee with a rose flavored cream on top

The Philz app says the Glendale location is closed. Can anyone confirm?

According to their Instagram a member at that location tested positive for COVID but they are closed as of Thursday.

How's parking? Not from this area.

I park in the lot directly behind the strip. There is ample parking during the early morning hours.

So why doesn't this location have Jamaican blue mountain?

It was discontinued by the company due to poor sales.

The Black Cow Cafe has been part of my life since my college years, so when I came here now, it was always filled with nostalgia and a slowed pace over a calming meal. Opened in 1994 by a father and son, they embodied the community's "Main Street USA" vibe with a neighborhood diner where everyone knew each other, and you were served a soothing homemade meal during breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Did this cafe leave me with warm memories of the past, or did I cower from time's inevitable changes!? PURCHASE(S) Green Milan 16floz Drink ($7.95): My body needed something "green" and this sounded interesting. I thought it would be one of those health smoothies back in the 80s, but instead a frothy hazy light drink with a light grassy aroma and a middling leafy flavor. I didn't dislike it, but I wouldn't order it again. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=Uo_FrA9ezkxhIn4VnwEVtQ Vegetarian Omelette w/Country Potatoes & Sourdough Toast ($18.95): Made with avocado, cheddar cheese, mushrooms, Ortega chiles, pico de gallo, salsa ranchera, spinach, and topped with sour cream, an omelette was also on my eating bingo card. This smallish portion on the healthier side was packed with fresh goodness and fluffy eggs. The country potatoes were plentiful, nicely seasoned, but lacked the outer crisp I liked. The large sourdough toast with creamy butter and preserves rounded out the meal well. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=vDf51dNgOCoyIaPX_AOvrw Fish & Chips w/Coleslaw & Muffin ($17.95): Made with tempura fried Icelandic cod served with jalapeno tartar sauce, and Hawaiian coleslaw, the three fish pieces were crunchy, hot, and thick but needed more seasoning so the tarter sauce came in handy (no vinegar!). The coleslaw lacked much flavor and moisture, and the muffin was moist and warm. Everything arrived within ten minutes, and we were checked on periodically. All was good - thank you! PARKING (Varied: FREE this instance): I found a spot in the large public lot directly above the restaurant off of Florencita Dr. Otherwise, there were metered spots along the main drag of Honolulu Ave. and all surrounding side streets- 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A packed layout filled with tables inside and along the front sidewalk, the decor was as if grandmothers united and gave it a country farm house appeal https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=HWq31BkepPCR8uWcUf4Gtw with odds-and-ends and knickknacks. A minimal amount of natural lighting came in through the front glass windows and doors while a mix of recessed and track electric ceiling lights filled in the rest. There were no TVs nor could I recall any background music over all of the loud conversations. ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL It was nice to revisit The Black Cow Cafe, and hoped to return soon. The menu was packed, the food was good, the prices were comparable, and the service was busy but manageable. Plus, I always preferred to support small local mom & pop businesses. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $69.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 4.0 STARS

We finally had the opportunity to go there for lunch yesterday and it was indeed fantastic! Such a lovely little place!! The inside would be nice for a cozy dinner but since we were there for lunch we chose to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine and people watch. (Great location for people watching!) The food and service were both great. I ordered the Chicken Caesar Wrap and my husband had the LA Cheesesteak Sandwich. Both were delicious. The wrap was different because it was made with balsamic dressing rather than ranch and had croutons inside which gave it a crunch. The cheesesteak sandwich had nice flavor kick to it. (My husband had the steak and mushroom penne, friends had the Chimchurri steak and the wedge salad) The negatives: I had the shrimp risotto and found it blah. The serving was very small - i feel like American portions are often obscenely large (and don't like that), but this was much smaller than average and I was still hungry after eating it. The flavor was ok, but nothing to write home about. And the shrimp were very small - what my husband and I call "bait" shrimp. Not the large shrimp you usually get at a nice restaurant. Since i was still hungry, I ordered a cobbler. It was fine, but not great. Texture was a bit strange - not traditional. Probably won't come back. The food is just not that interesting. It's like the kind of food you'd eat at a Midwestern buffet restaurant.

We thought he was a new employee because he had no clue what he was doing. He had NO personality no interest in general. When he first came to our table he didn't say hello or offer us appetizers or a cocktail. He asked for our dinner order. We ordered the fajita quesadilla and a combo plate. Daniel brought me the wrong taco; the taco was mostly lettuce and cheese very little meat ~ I was surprised because when I ordered this in the past it was excellent and done right (Not his fault tho he did write down my taco order incorrectly). He never came back to our table to check on us. When we were done we asked for a box because we had a lot of food left. He looked at it and brought us a tiny box. What was he thinking?? We asked the bus boy for another and he brought us the correct size. It was hard to get Daniels attention; we tried a few times to flag him down but he wasn't looking at us. We watched him a few different times throughout our time there, to see how he was with the other tables. We came to the conclusion that he looked like a fish out of water. Maybe he was overwhelmed even though the restaurant was a little more than half full last night at 5:30. Then he brought us our check while we were still eating! I told him I wanted to order dessert. Again, he had no clue what he was doing. I suggest the management take a look at this review and address this issue with him. Our experiences here have always been great, been coming for years.
