I absolutely love cafe 86! And I didn't know it was here in the Galleria of Glendale. While I was waiting for my date last Sunday I had the amazing ube flan and a latte. Delightful as usual! We also had a cooler each after wandering around the mall. I had the calamansi and boss lady had the drangonberry calamansi, both super refreshing and not too sweet, just what we needed. The girlies working here are as sweet as everything they have! Next to Dick's Sporting Goods. I LOVE that they have plenty of seating, so that's a plus. I'll be back!

I wish I could have bought everything on the menu, but alas I only got the upside down halo halo which was INCREDIBLE! The flan, ice creams, jelly and boba were sooo yummy! It's a very small spot, and it's in a corner so easy to miss, but service was friendly and efficient. My friend got rhe caramel latte which she said was one of the best she's had. Can't wait to come back and try more drinks and pastries!

I love Cafe 86 & it's been my first time at this location. They have tables the store I had the turon pop tart, mais con yelo bar and ube bar. I also love their goodies here as they never disappoint and I love the flavors too. My personal favorite here is anything ube.

Sadly, our grilled cheese sandwich had a hair in it. We discovered it at home so couldn't bring it to their attention while at the store. Hope those prepping food can wear a cap or hairnet. I did really enjoy their hibiscus calamansi drink though!

ScrrreeeeeeAm I can't believe I finally made it up here to savor this amazing Ube Truffle. Tasted this jewel of a dessert one month ago and couldn't get it out of my mind. This is a medium sweet grainy ube (sweet potato flavored) delight which just melts in your mouth like powdered sugar. Gosh I really don't know how to describe it to you guys out there. But please try it!

I was excited to hear that a Cafe 86 opened up in Glendale. I was so sad when the Pasadena one closed. I LOVE their Ube Leche Flan cupcakes. The location is small compared to the other ones but it's because it is in the mall. I was disappointed because they were sold out of the ube leche flan cupcakes today. But ended up getting a ube pop tart, ube cheesecake and butter bar. The poptart was perfect amount of ube flavor and wasn't super sweet. My daughter loved it and finished it. She loved it. The ube latte was a little too milky. The ube flavor was barely there. It tasted like milk with a splash a ube. Think the other drinks would be better to try. If you are shopping and in Glendale Galleria already this place is definitely worth a try and perfect for dessert.

I wish I could like this place as much as others do, but with overpriced drinks higher than Starbucks and an iced Americano that was so bland it tasted like water, it's hard to justify coming back to try other items. While I did appreciate the diverse menu with plenty of options to explore in the future and found the staff to be friendly, the coffee itself just didn't deliver. I left feeling like I didn't get my caffeine fix, and given the high prices in this economy, this spot is a pass for me.

This is my first time being in Glendale location. I've tried the Northridge location and their desserts before like the Halo halo. Definitely not my thing. It had cereal and I felt like I was just eating Frosted Flakes lol. Other people seem to like the Halo Halo but I prefer more traditional Halo Halo. So maybe its just me. The Ube truffle though is pretty tasty. You taste the ube and that first bite is so good! It is rich so I can only handle one. This time though, I tried the Sandwiches. They're so good! The Pastrami sandwich was pressed and the crust was nice and crispy. Saviory but a bit more on the sweet side. The Turkey Pesto sandwich is where its at though. Pressed as well and saviory how I like it. And the pesto really shines. Definitely recommend. It was also my first time trying the pop tarts. The Pop tart ube is fire! The Pop tart turon is really good too but I do prefer ube. I think the texture and consistency goes well together. Flakey and warm (if requested). I also tried the Ube Latte. It does not have caffeine but you can add espresso for extra. I opted for no caffiene even though I prefer coffee. Maybe if the prices were lower I would have. Cafe 86 is a bit pricey so just know that when visiting. The staff was very nice. There are a few tables but they do well with the space they have. And its nicely set up and decorated. nice spot to have a snack or sandwich!

So glad that cafe 86 has a location now in Glendale. This is a small location, but I assume that it gets a lot of foot traffic since it's at the mall. By the time I got there, there wasn't much to choose from. Food and drinks still tasty.

New cafe located at the eastern side of the mall. I've been to their Pasadena (when it was still around) and Little Tokyo location. The seating in this location was very limited. Prices are also very high for a very small pastry. I also feel that the ube isn't dense enough. Service was standard. For the price, I expect better presentation of the product. For example, I wouldn't expect pastries to be stacked on top of each other. I think that would ruin the quality over time (if you don't plan to eat it immediately). If ube is a novelty and prices are not a problem, I would recommend the place as a good starting point.

My boyfriend and I were strolling around the Glendale Galleria and came across Café 86. I have been to their other locations and loved it so I knew I had to stop in for some treats. I ordered a Halo Halo ($9.75) and a Turon Pop Tart ($5.25). Service was courteous and friendly. They offered to warm up my pop tart but we weren't eating it immediately, so I declined the offer. They had a lot of seating so we started off with the halo halo. Their version of the halo halo has coconut jellies, jack fruit, boba, frosted flakes, ube ice cream and a mini flan. Yumm! My boyfriend really enjoyed the ube ice cream on top while I worked a little harder to dig for the jellies and jack fruit on the bottom. That perfect bite of everything. We had the turon pop tart the next day, warmed up. The crust was tasty and buttery and the inside has a nice banana caramel taste. Digging it! Everything was delicious! My only regret was not buying more but some of the other items I wanted were too perishable for the moment. Until next time!

This location was a bit hard to find as we aren't locals. Parking was a bit of a distance to and from but we made it. It's a cute little cafe, located in the Galleria. I've visited the sister shop in Artesia so was glad that there's another cafe when visiting the area. There's tons of sweets!! Too much sweets but sooo good! We had a family function so we wanted to try a bit of this and that and our family was NOT disappointed that we came through! Service was friendly and had patience for our overloaded mind of goodies on menu and in the bakery area. Will def return in the future to try more goodies.

Mabuhay! Cafe 86 is the new Glendale craze! It is located beside Dick's sporting goods, you can park along Central Avenue for free parking and follow Dick's arrow (I am too specific here). We were here on a laid-back weekday at 1 pm-ish to check out this place that I heard always have a lot of people. Voila! The time we chose was perfect, no line but there were people already dining in. We ordered Halo Halo upside down and Ube Monster Milkshake (following our server's advice as their best seller) and yes they are both good as a dessert! Before we ordered we asked if the sweetness level could be adjusted because we are sugar-conscious people but they cannot make modifications. I want to be honest, Halo-halo for me is too sweet, I should have asked to not put ice cream on top but the Ube monster is PERFECT. Price-wise $$$ - a little too expensive but HELLO, they are inside the mall and provide a nice and safe ambiance to stay in while you enjoy your drink! so yes, we would be back again and try another flavor they offer! Enjoy my shared pics!

The Bronte Sisters. The Jacksons... You win free ice cream on me if you recognize the pattern. Yes, that's right: these are all siblings who have seamlessly worked together in their respective fields. I raise the list to include Mia and Mark Pedersen - the brother and sister team behind the ice creamery Moo Moo Mia with locations in both Montrose and Monrovia. You won't find Mia and Mark bickering or partaking in sibling rivalry; but you WILL find them creating quality, home made ice cream for Angelinos. Mark and Mia made their way from Denmark to Los Angeles in 2009 initially working in a Danish franchise despite both having a background in ice cream-making. When Covid hit in 2020 with its path of destruction to so many businesses; Mark and Mia decided they should cut their losses and create their own company that they can rely on their decision-making and thus Moo Moo Mia was born. Moo Moo Mia strives to produce Grade-A ice cream using crème de la crème ingredients such as milk from Scott Brother Dairy cows (another sibling company where cows roam free on 900 acres and are hormone free producing sensational milk) and offer unique flavor combinations. After a recent poor gelato experience at another LA business; my boyfriend and I decided to reward ourselves with ice cream from Moo Moo Mia on Honolulu in Montrose (this was our second time at this location). Nestled in the charming central Montrose corridor; Moo Moo Mia welcomes with a pastel color wheel façade/signage and a small square footage ice cream shop. When I say 'small'; I genuinely mean small as Moo Moo Mia is tiny with a display case/order counter and a claustrophobic standing room space with a few loose tables outside. This is definitely an "order and get out" establishment. Due to this congestion, Moo Moo Mia felt a bit hectic on both of our visits which always makes one feel guilty to ask for samples in order to not hold up the line. The flavor options at Moo Moo Mia aren't super extensive (there isn't that much to choose from) BUT there do have those unique combinations Mia and Mark boast of with pride. I have sampled a few flavors at Moo Moo Mia such as Honey Lavender (Sweet cream ice cream layered with delicate ribbons of lavender and finished with a touch of raw organic honey - so good with perfect lavender notes!), March flavor of ice cream with Luck Charms marshmallows and Sweet Taro. On our second visit, my boyfriend kept it simple with a single cone ($5.50) of Madagascar Vanilla Bean (Made with imported ground Madagascar vanilla beans) and a kid's cup ($4.25) of March's monthly flavor Coconut Ube for me. Mark and Mia aren't exaggerating about Moo Moo Mia's ice cream as it truly is quite good: creamy, thick and not overly sweet; the texture is perfection. The Honey Lavender holds my heart but the Coconut Ube was also delicious although it tasted of 95% ube with a small 5% after taste of coconut water. Good thing I like Ube! My boyfriend's vanilla was, in his words, "The best vanilla!" and I agree that Moo Moo Mia truly elevates a basic flavor making it extra special. The consensus is that the ice cream is wonderful, no doubt. The customer service at Moo Moo Mia leaves a lot to be desired, however. During both visits the associates were very dry, somewhat curt - although not rude, per se - and are literally only there to get the job done and that's it. Even though this isn't too terrible; it prevents Moo Moo Mia from being a perfect experience. Moo Moo Mia is a delicious and quality option for an ice cream treat that you can truly taste but the lack of numerous flavor options, the teen-tiny shop and the customer service are flaws that keep it from being exceptional. Despite this, Moo Moo Mia is recommended for all ice cream lovers - whether you have a sibling or not!
