After placing an order on their website, you would park in the back lot where it's free parking, and enter a tempt room of lockers. I wish they included this in the text where you are to CALL THEM to let them know you've arrived so they can bring your order out to you. It's not like the other establishment in this shared kitchen where they just leave it in one of the order cubbies to pick up. So here I am like an idiot just standing and waiting in the empty room for my order. I didn't know until I checked my email and it said to call them in my receipt. Oh well. Anyway, here's what I ordered: BASTURMA BRISKET - $29 Hand Carved Basturma Brisket, Pickled Persian Cucumber, Chaman Spread, and Swiss Cheese. Served in freshly baked pita bread. I know, what kind of sandwich costs nearly $30!? But let me tell you, you are getting both quality and quantity in this bad boy. This reads 2 people, and those 2 will enjoy this thoroughly. Yes, it's a bit on the saltier side, but that's why you have the cucumber to balance it out a bit and the warm and soft pita bread. The brisket was tender and I loved the spread (which you can buy!). Having heard about this place for years, when it was a backyard operation, I was excited to give it a try. I placed my order online and headed to their ghost kitchen to pick it up. I ordered the Basturma Brisket Sandwich which is their most popular item. I am a big fan of both Basturma and Brisket so this sounded like a match made in heaven. And I was right!!! This sandwich was epic!! The meat was tender and smoky. The spices were perfectly balanced. It had a delicious Chaman Spread, a slice of Swiss cheese and housemade pickled Persian cucumbers. The acidity of the pickles helped to balance out the rich meat. It all came together like magic. The sandwich is quite large, which justifies the $29 price. They have RE-OPENED down the road on San Fernando And Allen at a former donut shop. The place is small and simple, but has an open kitchen so you can see the food being made. The service is brisk since its a counter and you can see when the food is ready. They still make the Basturma Brisket sandwich, but they improved it with house made melted cheese. Its not cheap at 38 dollars, but it is heavy and special. I also had the Pistachio Hummus thats based on a 14th century Iraqi recipe. Its probably the best hummus Ive had in years. I had that with a imported Hibiscus Soda that was very dry and not sweet, and it paired well with the food. We went to the location described waited in line (although we saw some people who called the number and waited in the car) and the food was brought out to us. Just an FYI there is no place to sit and eat since it is a ghost kitchen! First off, the brisket sandwich is substantial- with enough meat to fill my husband- which is a difficult task! Otherwise the bread, sauce, cheese, brisket- all SO tasty. I had the brisket by itself as well which was divine. We really enjoyed this sandwich. The cheese manousheh was the perfect amount of bread, cheese, spice (Aleppo pepper). I was so impressed and wanted to finish the whole thing myself. The price for the brisket sandwich might seem like a lot but it is not when you consider they stuff the sandwich with tons of brisket that would cost you way more at a barbecue spot. The meat is tasty but don't go into it thinking it will be like pastrami cause it isn't. I do wish the brisket was more hot to help with its juiciness and that the spread was distributed evenly.
