The sound system was playing 80's rock, which I love, but it was so loud we had to yell across the table at each other to be heard. We had Pastini delivered the other night, and I have to say i was decently surprised. The ROASTED ARTICHOKE-SPINACH SPREAD WITH BRUSCHETTA was absolutely the best artichoke dip we've ever had. Yeah I said it. Next we had the garlic bread as well for appetizer, we weren't as head over heels for that as we were the dip. I ordered the PAPPARDELLE WITH MEAT SAUCE BOLOGNESE and have to say, it was really good, the meat was tender, it wasn't too sauced, and the noodles we're cooked well. I'd recommend. We also went with FETTUCCINI ALFREDO WITH CHICKEN which i heard no complaints about, so I'm going with it was good. It looked inviting, and the menu had good options, and seemed reasonably priced. We were seated quickly, our waitress friendly, and was quick to take our order, the food was good. When we left, I forgot a small bag I had placed on the floor, and didn't realize it until 3AM the next morning (another story...). We had an early departure, and could not wait for them to open. I called but no answer, so we decided stopped by the restaurant thinking we would leave a note and a little money so they could (might) mail it to us. When I walked in to Pastini restaurant I was greeted by an employee. I was asked how many were in my party. I gave my cell phone number and I was told that I would receive a text when my party would be able to go to a table. It was for Pastini's lunch seating. I waited a brief while seated next to my darling Husband. I was asked where I would like to be seated. My Husband said a booth would be alright. I was shown a booth. The table was clean and there weren't that many other people dining in the same area. There weren't any loud people at any of the other tables during the afternoon that my Husband and myself were dining at Pastini. I ordered the Baked Ziti with Meatballs. I asked for the Caesar Salad as my side dish. I also ordered an extra meatball from the $ 13.00 lunch menu. My Husband ordered the Baked Cheese Ravioli with Caesar Salad as his side dish. He also ordered an add-on of Garlic Bread. It is two pieces. For two pieces of Garlic Bread there is a charge of $ 2.50. I noticed that there was a larger party that arrived as my Arnold Palmer and my Husband's Diet soda were brought. My Arnold Palmer tasted just right. It isn't alcohol. It looked like one of the people in that party was a little league player (baseball). There was a short wait for my Husband's and my plates. I checked my entree. One of the meatballs was missing. I told the server about this right away... and he said he would be bringing another one soon. I had one spicy bite of Ziti... but otherwise the Baked Ziti was spectacular. Maybe it was too much cayenne in that one bite... I'm not sure. Also,... my server who took my order said that the other server was delayed from their original starting time. I waited for her to finish with another table. I've never worked in a sit down restaurant before... but I've known for a few decades that when one server doesn't show up for work on time... the other servers have to do more work. I asked for a cup of coffee after I was done with my Arnold Palmer. I was told that it would be a few short minutes for it to be brewed. I drank about five or six sips. I got the shrimp scampi and it came laden with unmelted butter and rubbery shrimp. Good food. Nice atmo. Rude Service. We like the food here and come in often. The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable. However... management needs to do a better job of training the servers on how to respectfully address female customers. Specifically, if you are a waiter, do not EVER address a woman, especially one who is older than you as "honey," "dear," "sweetie" or anything in that vein. Wow. In a competition for the most average Italian food ever, Pastini would be a strong contender. The conflict I have about this restaurant is that the food is just so spectacularly average but the views from the patio are spectacularly amazing. Our large extended family group was quickly seated in a spot with gorgeous views of the mountains, river, and Les Schwab amphitheater. We ordered spaghetti with meatballs for the kids, a seafood pasta meal for my husband, and a caesar salad for myself. The salad was significantly underdressed (and I like my salads dry). The chicken was dry and room temperature. The seafood in my husband's meal was overcooked and the sauce was almost tasteless. The spaghetti with meatballs tasted like a can of tomato sauce was opened and dumped on top. The food didn't taste bad... it was just so "meh." I could have cooked this food at home with one hand tied behind my back. The service was decent. Our server Justin was a great communicator. We are giving lots of grace on the topic of service right now since we know all of our local businesses are going through a massive transition with new mandates and staffing shortages. If I could give zero stars I would. Placed an order online to pick up for our family of 15 at this location while we were in the old mill. It said it would take an hour exact so we hung out at old mill to wait. In our email notification we were told to come pick up our food at 5:35pm- which was an hour wait. We showed up at 5:30 to pick up our food and was told that they placed our food on the table (image below) and that someone took our food already and that they would discount some items but it would be another 40 minute wait. I asked for the entire order to be refunded as this was obviously not our fault and it was 5:45 by now with no other choices on a Sunday night. The hostess went to ask Jordan Stacona the manager on duty, I explained to Jordan that we placed the order an hour ago and have been waiting and will have to wait another 40+ minutes and he said "sorry we can't refund the order" when I asked why? He said "because we would then take double the hit for the cost of the food and that it wasn't their fault that the food was picked up early" i then asked that he was saying it's our fault? And he said no it wasn't our fault but that you knew it was an hour when placing the order. At this point i felt like I was arguing about something that was obviously not our fault and i backed down from it and said fine whatever you can do. He removed about $50 from our $180+ meal... We are visiting friends and family here and will ensure they don't go here. They are not customer centric here- very disappointing. read more

Have been regulars since this place very first opened. Customer service is either really good or really bad. Never consistent. Staff never seems to be on the same page or communicate which then leads to some waiting well over the quoted time and others walking right in and getting sat. Managers are not helpers. They are very combative and just want to argue. Sad to say but, won't be a regular any longer. Justin was a terrific Server. Ordered from Bendtakeout from Pastinis. I ordered the Fasta Alla Roma and lemon custard cake. The flavor is very bland and tastes like they just poured olive oil all over it. The sauce is all olive oil. Also, entire cloves of garlic. I love garlic as much as the next person, however, entire cloves of garlic is not wonderful to bite into every bite. Came with two small pieces of good moist bread. I'd say the two stars are for the bread and the sundries tomatoes in the pasta that gave it that only flavor. Just tried the cake. It was ok, but very gritty because the custard is broken and lumpy. Good flavor with the berry compote on top but the texture is weird. Dropped down to two stars because of this. Wow. My boyfriend took one look at it and said the custard is broken. We eat at plenty of places in bend, stick to local spots and try not to eat at chains....this is why. Overall, not impressed for $30. When we walked into Pastini's, the decor met my expectations. Typical chain restaurant chic without much character. Our hostess and server were extremely friendly and efficient. I was in the mood for something bad for me, so I ordered the fettuccine alfredo with shrimp. W ordered the chicken artichoke salad. My fettuccine was really good, but I didn't care much for the shrimp. It tasted as though it was boiled or steamed, when it should have been sauteed. W's salad was really good, but it was loaded with vinegar. We didn't like the bread at all. It was powdery and had no crispy crust or flavor. My fettuccine was $21 for a lunch portion. It really wasn't worth that much. I'm giving this restaurant 4 stars because, compared to most restaurants in the area, the food is good. read more

Best Birthday Dinner! We went to Pastini last night for my birthday dinner. I think this is year 11 as they send me a free entry coupon every year and I use it. The place was SLAMMED. Some staff had called in sick and they were shorthanded. We sat at the bar for a while, where Jenna was working harder than I've ever seen a bartender work, and then the manager, Katie, came over and said, "You've been here too long. I'm going to clean off this table right and I'll wait on you myself." She made sure I had the best birthday dinner ever. The food, as usual, was really great. Wife's wine was ok, and my beer was great, cold. Our server was great, very busy, but friendly/genuine, checked up on us and what not. I ordered the "Valentine special", a spicy, creamy, vodka, shrimp fettuccine type dish. Flavor was spicy as advertised, no complaints on the heat level. Tails-on shrimp in a creamy pasta sauce, is kind of a hassle, even if the shell does add flavor, but thats my preference. Otherwise the dish was kind of bland and underwhelming in flavor. Presentation was ok to "meh", for the price.... some garlic bread would have been a nice/typical touch, the portion was on the smaller size. I ate it all and could have eaten a little more. Wife's salad really looked nice, but opined that her dish was just kind of bland, too. She even felt a little weird and counter-intuitive, adding salt to a salad, and that didn't really help. For us, a fine option for beer/wine and maybe an appetizer, especially outdoors in the right weather, but we won't be tripping over ourselves to make it back for the food. read more
