Pastini is in the Old Mill District right on the Dechuttes River. We stopped in for a late dinner. While waiting for a table I notices the Cocktail for a Cause sign on the hostess stand, I thought that was awesome. More places should do things like that. We were seated and our server Teah came over promptly and took our drink orders, and gave us some time to look at the menu. I ended up getting one of the Hot Honey Peach Margaritas and let me tell you, it was the best Margarita I have ever had. The flavors went so well together, such an amazing flavor profile. This drink 11/10. If your thinking about it - try it. It is not spicy for those worried about the hot Honey. We ordered the parmesan bread, the fried mozerella & a caprese salad to start. All were delicious. The parmesan bread is the perfect amount of soft and fluffy and crispy, I think it was made on some type of ciabatta roll. We also ordered the fried mozerella, which was similar to mozzarella sticks but more if a slice of mozzarella breaded and deep fried and served over mozzarella. And I am a huge fan of caprese salad so I ordered a small side. The caprese comes with both Roma and sundried tomatoes, absolute best sun dried tomatoes i have ever tasted. For our main course we had the spaghetti carbonara & the linguine pesto pollo. The Carbonaras flavor profile was amazing, the bacon was just the right flavor to tie it all together. The linguine was delicious, chicken cooked and seasoned to perfection. The whole dish came Toger nicely. We would definitely come back - as we had a rough time in choosing which entree to get!

Our group of 4 went to Pastini for convenience sake only given the so-so reviews. We were very pleasantly surprised on every level. The restaurant is good for both couples or families with kids. It is conveniently located in the Old Mill with plenty of close parking. Service was attentive and friendly. Both appetizers and all 4 entrees we ordered were delicious. We started with the fried artichoke hearts and calamari fritti. All of us are fairly health conscious, and were hesitant to order fried food, but it was lightly breaded and fried and did not have a lot of oil. Both were really tasty. The entrees were equally good... spicy shrimp fettuccini, linguini with shrimp scampi, cavatappi primavera, and the asparagus salad were all outstanding. In addition, the portions are generous and we had enough left over to take home for lunch the next day. Highly recommend.

The food here was amazing. I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious Italian meal. I can't say much about the restaurant because we ordered to go, but the staff seemed very nice. My only issue is that the portions are small, somewhat pricey -- but you don't get what you paid for.

To so zesty experience. Service was not attentive as I had to wait a long time for server to Take my drink order. The upside was that I had more than enough time to read the menu a couple of times. Figured if it took so long to get my drink order, should probably order my meal as well. The food did come out pretty quickly, to sure what happened to my lasagne but most of the bottom was hard and crusted over. Not gonna lie I was starving and just deconstructed the lasagne and ate what was good. Similar to getting served, took just as long to get the check. Told the server/showed the server my lasagne rock and she said she would tell the cook. End of story.

This restaurant is the place to be on a beautiful day in Bend. Sitting outside, the kids can play on the rocks, you can enjoy people watching and the beautiful river view. The food is good and so is the service. The kids menu is reasonably priced. Wednesday is half price bottles of wine!!

Great location! Great restaurant! Great food! Besides that, what could be more fortunate when traveling?

Pastini was an okay place. I called in my order where the the guy who answered the phone took my order. They are located in the trendy Old Mill District. It was good to see that they were a busy place when I arrived. After a few minutes of waiting, my food was done and I was out the door. The food and the prices were okay. I ordered the spaghetti with meatball, while my wife had the chicken alfredo. My spaghetti with meatball was with a marinara sauce. The marinara sauce was a little acidic. It was okay. My wife wasn't a fan of her pasta, but, she ate it anyways. It was okay for a takeout meal. Eating there in their trendy location might've been better. But, for a takeout meal, it was okay.

Blood Orange margarita.

I was extremely skeptical about going here. When I see too many pictures posted by the business and not many from customers, and those that are posted by customers don't look noticing then I tend to avoid those restaurants. Well, we went anyway. We have three small children. The experience and food exceeded my expectations. The from the friendly and speedy service, and tasty food we will be returning. Ambiance is perfect for families.

Solid homemade pasta, but the "elevated Italian" fell flat for us…read more We came to Trattoria Sbandati excited by the 4.5-star Google reviews and the promise of elevated Italian in Bend. The homemade pasta is decent--I'll give them that, but I couldn't taste it apart from the bland sauces. Unfortunately the two dishes we ordered didn't live up to the hype. The Tagliatelle al Ragu' alla Bolognese had a ground-beef sauce that was strangely bland and under-salted. It tasted like it had been boiled just to cover up the lack of seasoning--honestly reminded me more of a basic canned chili than a rich, slow-cooked Bolognese. The Pappardelle alla Chiantigiana was even more disappointing. The sausage had that tired, old-sausage flavor, and the sauce (fennel, tomato, leeks, Chianti) never popped. Everything just kind of sat there on the plate. The ambiance was okay, but the restaurant was strangely packed. We called at 4:00 when they opened and had to reserve the soonest table at 8 PM, so none of it made any sense in the end. The complimentary bread was cold, which feels like such a simple thing to get right. And at $30 and $36 for medium-sized bowls of pasta, I expected a lot more wow for the price. I make better versions of both dishes at home on a regular Tuesday night. Maybe we caught an off night or our tastes just don't line up with the majority, but with 300+ reviews at 4.5 stars I was genuinely surprised. Won't be rushing back.

We started with a beautiful bottle of Domaine Serene 2021 Pinot Noir... smooth, elegant, and the perfect pairing for everything that followed. I started with mussels and clams (seafood will always be my first pick) and scallops for my husband--both were incredible. For the main event, I had the blackened redfish (SO good) which is the best I have had outside of New Orleans and the steak lover went all in on the ribeye... and let's just say there were zero leftovers! Every bite was delicious, the atmosphere was perfect, and the best part? Our server Emily never missed a beat all night! If you're in Bend and looking for a fantastic night out--this is your spot. All the tables were full and it was a Monday night!

We ate here on a recent trip from Eugene and we're excited to see a cajun style restaurant in Bend…read more The restaurant is nice inside and has a low key upscale feel. The menu isn't very large and I think we both settled on choices quickly, deciding to try the most "quintessential" entrees to share. I chose the Blackened Redfish, and my boyfriend the Jambalaya. Even though we had already decided, the waitress went on her whole spiel through the menu highlights, including what we had already had planned to order. Awkward, but it was fine, and we didn't stray from our original choices. The Blackened Redfish was perfectly cooked and flaky. It was served on a bed of mashed potatoes with a slightly tangy sauce. All of it was tasty, but I was a bit disappointed in the lack of spice to the blackening seasoning and the sauce. Also, serving it on grits instead of mashed potatoes would have made it feel 100% more Cajun, even with lack of seasoning. The Jambalaya fared a bit better, although my boyfriend was also left puzzled by the lack of spice to this classic dish. In all ways it was a very good representation of New Orleans style red jambalaya, with the andouille sausage being particularly notable for flavor. The cornbread it came with was pretty good. We shared a piece of chocolate cake for dessert. A very decadent concoction of chocolate, peanut butter, and caramel. It was one of the better $12 slices of cake I've had. Overall? The service was good, if not a bit awkward with the menu spiel. The food was all very well prepared, but for a Cajun style restaurant they sure could stand to spice things up a bit. It's not cheap, but at least the entrees are a full sized meal and you don't have to order many "tiny plates" to cobble together a dinner.

So if you're hankering for the mac n cheese or shrimp n grits or veg burger or any of the menu items, after today they are history. I started eating at The Drake in their first week of business and had many, many, many meals there over the years but things change and so, it seems, has the popularity of The Drake. Now the good news. The new owners are a trio and one of them is also one of the owners of the inestimable Ken's Artisan Pizza in Portland that opened its' Bend location last year. (Go! Even if you have to stand in line for 45 minutes like I did.) The first news of this ownership change was that they would keep the name and current focus of The Drake. But local television news reports that after The Drake closes today it will be reimagined with a new name and design and menu. The opening for the new place is currently said to be Memorial Day weekend. I don't live in Bend anymore but there is still a family home there and so I visit on occasion and knowing a "Ken's" owner is involved in the new enterprise may make me brave the wicked-bad downtown parking to try this new place. In the meantime, I remember how fun and delicious it could be to eat at The Drake.

Awesome that you can do many different sides including regular fries, Cajun fries, salad, chips, and more options... do wish they had onion rings however. I got the hummus plate which was good but not the best I've had. It came with a baguette which was more like garlic bread so I would have, personally, liked pita more. It also had a few olives on the side with a red pepper type sauce. I got it with no pickled onions. They had a great beer selection and even a few tasty non-alcoholic beers. Also had kombucha on tap which was delicious (from Humm). Everyone working was super sweet and the vibes were relaxed and casual. Our food came out quick and exactly how we ordered it. They also seemed to have spaces for larger parties, too. They also have a little gift shop if you wanted to pick anything from shirts, to bottle openers, to beer candles and more! I took a moment to study the vintage photo of the original firehouse that now serves as the brick bones of the restaurant. Awesome seeing the original garage doors and recognizing where the fire trucks would have sat in waiting. They even kept the fire pole above the bar. I found myself wishing other areas of the restaurant had been designed or decorated more intentionally to honor its soulful past. It wants to be a high class spot, but something about the interior design feels underwhelming. I enjoyed the drinks I tried although the menu seems a bit unimaginative. The energy was strange, maybe it was that night, but bar staff seemed to be a bit "altered" and on edge. One was wearing what may or may not have been an intentional cologne that smelled like the overpowering essence of hot rubber mixed with cigar smoke, and leather. I ended up ordering the fresh steelhead and it was amazing. Caesar salad was lovely. And the drink of the night was called something like a White Christmas but was sort of a wintery margarita. I found Brickhouse thanks to Yelp! and I was sold when I saw they had French Onion Soup and Blackened Ribeyes. The only problem was that it was a Sunday night and it would be 8 pm when I finally made my way there. They were open until 9 pm, but I know a lot of restaurants will close early if they don't have enough patrons. When I showed up at the restaurant I asked if they were still serving and the waitress that helped me went to check. The Manager came out and was very nice and said they were. I asked for the bar and he led me over to the bar with a menu. The bartender was incredibly nice from the get go. I should have written the review earlier, because then I would have remembered his name, but unfortunately it escapes me now. I already knew what I wanted but I didn't want to rush through it. I ordered a dirty martini and the French Onion Soup. Both were great. The soup was loaded with Gruyère, which I loved. It was rich and wasn't overwhelming with the onions. It hit the spot on this cold (to the Californian) night. The bartender recommended I try the Wagyu ribeye and I figured why not? So, I got the Blackened Wagyu Ribeye. It came with mashed potatoes and roasted veggies which were both really tasty. I like mashed potatoes, but I'm not crazy about them, but these were really good. The steak was huge and they cooked it perfectly. The blackening seasoning wasn't quite as flavorful as I am used to, but it was still good. I managed to get through the cap of the ribeye and that was delicious. I also had a glass of wine with my steak that the bartender helped me pick. Everything was really tasty, the restaurant was clean and upscale looking, and the people working there were very nice. It was the perfect way to spoil myself after transporting my foster kitten to Spokane and then driving back to California. I would definitely return if I make a trip through Bend again.
