I've been going here for a while now and I've been meaning to make a review from the very first visit. This is one of the most wonderful experience I've ever had at a restaurant. The owners are amazing and very welcoming. Their attitude and hospitality directly translate to the food here. The pasta is amazing and you get tell how much love goes into their food. The portion is big which is always a plus for a big back like me. I will say the only downside is the outdoor only seating but it is fully shaded with a huge fan to cool you down! Definitely recommend coming here and grabbing some good food along with getting the experience to meet the owners because they're the reason I come time after time again! read more

The owner was as sweet as mentioned frequently in previous reviews. The food was delicious! We ordered the spaghetti chicken parm, the fettuccine alfredo with shrimp, the penne shrimp pinko and the garlic cheese sticks. The portions are large and we all have lunch ready for tomorrow! I was very happy to see that the owner brought a bowl to a person who seemed to be homeless. The complimentary dessert was also very delicious. We hadn't been here before and didn't know that there was only patio seating. Definitely will choose a cooler day for a return visit. Also, I know the quality is great but $100 with tax and tip seems a little high. Personally if I was the owner bread would be complimentary. read more

Pastaphony - Build your own pasta - Italian Near Me - Fullerton, California

Welcomed the new addition to the fullerton downtown scene with an rainy thursday evening visit since it was their first day open! Heidi and crew were very welcoming and explained their store menu and concept, a fast paced pick and choose pasta made to order with some preset menu options if you're not sure which combos works. I would say the restaurant space isn't that large so it is made for the busy work environment that downtown workers who go out for lunch. Wife wanted fettuccini with pink sauce and spinach so that's what I ordered! Food was ready within 5-8 min and a big portion it was! Brought it home and we shared it together. Pasta was slightly pass al dente but that could be from just bringing it home but the sauce was nice and thick and all the pasta noodles were covered in sauce but not stuck together! I also got to try one of their desserts which was like mini donut with nutella which was sweet and great after the pasta! Definitely a great deal worth of food for two people to share or a hungry youngster. They are running an opening promo on their first day opening so go and ask! Don't be shy lol read more

This is my second time visiting this establishment. I enjoyed my first visit so much, I decided to try it again. This time it was just as good as the first. The owner is very personable and greets everyone with great enthusiasm. While not a fancy sit-down Italian restaurant, the pasta is just as good. I highly recommend this place. Parking is close by. We tried four different pasta dishes, and every single one was delicious! We ordered the Spaghetti Chicken Parmesan, Penne Arrabbiata with meatballs, Fettuccine Chicken Alfredo, and the Build Your Own Pasta. While everything was flavorful and made fresh, the Build Your Own Pasta completely stole the show. I chose penne with pink sauce, grilled chicken, spinach, garlic, basil, and chili flakes, and it was absolutely perfect. The pink sauce was rich and creamy with just the right balance of tomato and cream, and the fresh ingredients made every bite amazing. The Chicken Alfredo was creamy and comforting, the Chicken Parmesan was crispy and satisfying, and the Arrabbiata had a nice kick with flavorful meatballs. The portions were generous, and everything arrived hot and well-prepared. If you're visiting for the first time, I highly recommend creating your own pasta--it's definitely the standout dish! We'll absolutely be back to try even more from the menu. But what made this place special was, I assume, the owner. He was very welcoming and it made the experience worth coming back for, even IF the dish wasn't good. Thank goodness it was lol read more

Where do I begin? Food: I ordered the Penne Arrabbiata with meatballs. The pasta was perfectly al dente, and the sauce was absolutely delicious with just the right amount of spice. The tomato sauce alone is a 10/10. But the real stars were the MEATBALLS! They must use a special blend of meats because they were incredibly well-seasoned and unbelievably tender. Small shout out to the breadsticks which looked like Olive Garden bread sticks but tasted waaaay better. Very buttery and garlicky (: Price: Very fair considering the quality of the food and the huge portions. Honestly, one bowl could easily feed 2-3 people. Customer Service: This is where they really won me over. Since Pastaphony is a growing Southern California restaurant brand, I honestly wasn't expecting such a personal experience. I believe this location is ran by a husband and wife duo. The husband, who was working the front counter when I visited, introduced himself as he took my order... who does that anymore? After he brought our food to the table he made sure my group and I had everything we needed, even though he was clearly juggling a hundred other things. I also witnessed a sweet moment when his wife and kids arrived. He took a moment to greet them before getting right back to work. It was genuinely heartwarming and made this location feel incredibly welcoming. Ambiance: It's a small spot with outdoor seating only, but finding a table on a Wednesday evening was easy. Even so, the place was impressively busy for a weekday, which tells you all you need to know. Overall: This place is a hidden gem in downtown Fullerton. If you're craving incredible pasta and want to support a genuinely kind, hardworking local business owner, look no further. I'll definitely be back. read more

We ordered for takeout: (Build Your Own Pasta) Spaghetti with red sauce + Chicken + Parsley, Spaghetti Chicken Parmesan + extra tomatoes + parsley, Garlic Breadsticks, and Nutella Bomb donuts for dessert. OMG! The pasta servings were very generous and humongous to go! Made with fresh ingredients and extra saucy servings, this is possibly the only pasta restaurant that is Open Late Night in the area. Everything tasted pretty good and fresh; however, this is NOT an authentic Italian pasta place. The pastas were prepared American-style, and the garlic breadsticks were too garlicky, but the Nutella Bomb donuts were sweet-and-sticky-the-bomb! Yum!! Customer service was good, and food was ready on time for pickup. For late night pasta cravings in the OC, this is the place to go to pick up To Go... read more

This is a new build-your-own pasta concept that just opened in Downtown Fullerton. You can DIY your own pasta by choosing the type of noodle, sauces like pink sauce or truffle cream, then any complimentary toppings--yes, you can get all of them if you want. I highly recommend adding on some premium protein, like the breaded chicken they can make into a chicken parm. But if you're indecisive like me, you can't go wrong with their signature pastas like the fettuccine truffle mushroom and spicy penne arrabiata. You can tell all the ingredients they use are so fresh and all their pasta sauces are handmade by the owners themselves. And their cheesy garlic bread goes SO hard. Thanks for reading! ^-^ read more

This place is an absolute hit! We were greeted with amazing hospitality from the staff! My friend and I each did the build your own bowls and it came with a generous amount of food. Price was so good for the amount and the high quality food we received. We were stuffed and had some to take home. We also ordered the breadsticks which were delicious as well. I think it was the owner but an older gentleman told us he gets all the food fresh from the market every few days. His wife also makes the sauce homemade daily! This is such a fresh and loving place to try. We will definitely be returning. I had such an amazing time I just had to leave a review!! Thank you so much we loved everything read more

Writing this having now gone for the second time in a week! My gf and I had been looking for a good pasta place since moving to a nearby neighborhood and tried our luck here. All I have to say is WOW. It was decently priced for the high quality and large portions of food we received. The ingredients were fresh, food was flavored so well, and just really scratched the "Italian comfort food" itch without breaking the bank. It's a small, cute little corner spot with indoor/ outdoor seating in the heart of downtown Fullerton. The gentleman who greeted us both times was so incredibly sweet, shook our hands, and welcomed us back. It just felt warm, and like they take pride in making delicious meals. This is officially our new favorite go-to spot for amazing pasta! Will be back again and again, highly recommend! read more

Phastarony absolutely surprised me in the best way. The fettuccine chicken alfredo was a 10/10. The sauce was rich, smooth, and easily one of the best I've had... and that's coming from someone who normally isn't even a fan of fettuccine alfredo. The garlic bread was perfectly toasted and packed with flavor, and the side sauce it came with was just as good. Another 10/10. We also tried the spaghetti chicken parmesan, and yeah... 10/10 again. Flavor was on point, and everything tasted fresh and well made. You can tell they actually care about quality here. Every dish hit. I'm honestly excited to come back and try more of the menu. read more

Stop in for a quick bite. The service was amazing. We were greeted right away and everyone in the small restaurant was so friendly. They even gave us a complimentary dessert at the end of our meal. The pasta was a nicely flavor and very filling. The cheesy bread is the same breadsticks they use at Olive Garden or at least very similar to it. A nice little place to grab a quick pasta to go or they have a few tables available to dine in. read more

My husband and I enjoyed lunch here with our dog on July 4th. The owner was so incredibly sweet, greeting us with a smile and handshake. He was patient in answering any questions we had. What a cool concept, to create your own pasta bowl! The possibilities are endless and there is truly something for everyone! My husband got fettuccine with pink sauce and breaded chicken. I ordered penne with Alfredo sauce and shrimp. In addition, we also got the cheesy garlic bread. Food came out in a timely manner and immediately within the first bite, we were impressed! The flavors just worked so well and we each enjoyed the sauce we chose. (tell me why when I woke up today, I couldn't stop talking about it and we wanted to go again haha) The bread was also a nice touch and was delicious with marinara on the side to dip it in. The only seating is outside on the patio and there is parking on wilshire street, a lot on amerige, or the structure further down wilshire. We can't wait to return to try more options like the truffle cream sauce or pesto! :) read more

I visited today for the first time and the cashier was an older gentleman and he was really kind. He shook my hand, asked for my name and was friendly. He personally thanked each customer for coming. The pasta itself was cooked well and the pink sauce I got as well was also delicious. I think a point of constructive criticism was the grilled chicken add-on. I wish it was freshly grilled and not pre-prepared or from a package because it took away from the deliciousness of the pasta. The texture was gummy and I could tell it was not fresh. The outside patio was super relaxing and quiet, they had board games and a giant fan which was perfect because it was hot outside. I ate alone and it was a nice break from my busy day. read more

Owner is very nice. I originally ordered on DoorDash when I was at work. I got the chicken fettuccine Alfredo with bacon and Parmesan added and it was absolutely delicious. Service was amazing, I was immediately greeted with a hand shake by Ayberk (the owner) and I felt very welcomed. He asked me and my friend what our names were and engaged in conversation The environment is nice and it felt very homey. Currently writing this review before I got my food because all I've felt so far was positivity. Update: got my food and the quantity was definitely reasonable with the pricing. My friend and I got the fettuccini alfredo with bacon and garlic and we believe that was the second best decision we've made all day. The first best decision we made was getting dinner here. We finished off our meal by shaking Ayberks hand and thanking him for his kindness and flavorful food. read more

Came here on a Saturday night around 9:30pm. Had a little bit of a wait, but it was worth it. Everything came out fresh and delicious. The owner greeted us when we first walked in, introduced himself and went over the menu. Everything was customizable. I visited around 11pm at night and was happy they were still open! The owners were so nice, they greeted me as soon as I walked in, explained the menu in detail, and even told me all the sauces were made by the wife from scratch. Saw this place in downtown Fullerton on IG and decided to check it out. I normally eat Italian once, maybe twice per/year (avoid the carbs), and so glad I did. Absolutely, outstanding!!! Pastaphony is essentially the Chipotle of Italian. Choose your Pasta, Sauce, Free Toppings and Premium Toppings and everything is cooked to order by owners Ayberk and his wife Tugba. My order onsisted of Fettucine with Truffle Cream Sauce, Black Olives, Spinach, Grilled Chicken and Shrimp with a side of their Signature Cheesy Garlic Bread. Ayberk sent over a complimentary Chocolate-filled Pastry for dessert and all we're just great! Both very gracious, generous and its clear that food, great food is their number one passion, customer service runs a close second! They've only been open for just about 4-months. Came here on a Saturday around noon and ordered a Fettuccine Mushroom Truffle Cream pasta to go. Service was good and friendly. As much as I love parmesan, I believe the amount of parmesan they gave me was wayyy too much. The pasta was a huge portion that I could share with 2 people and have leftovers, but unfortunately there just wasn't a lot of flavor in the pasta itself. The mushrooms weren't a lot for the amount of pasta as well. $20 is pricey for pasta and I would understand if they made their pasta in house but I believe they don't. Wow. The pasta was an absolute 10/10--and I don't say that lightly because I'm a pretty picky eater. Honestly, it was some of the best pasta I've ever had, and every sauce we tried was incredible. As amazing as the food was, the service somehow managed to be even better. The husband-and-wife team behind this restaurant are some of the kindest, most thoughtful people we've met. My husband has traveled overseas and visited small family-owned restaurants throughout Italy, and he said this is exactly the kind of warm, welcoming hospitality they provide there. What really stood out was how much they care about families. They have so many thoughtful things to keep kids entertained, which made the entire experience even more enjoyable. Amazing food, incredible service, and genuinely wonderful people. We will absolutely be back--and we'll be bringing friends and family with us. We can't wait for our next visit! read more

I've had pasta from a lot of different places over the years, and I can honestly say Pastaphony serves some of the best pasta I've ever had. I ordered the Chicken Alfredo with a custom request to have the chicken breaded instead of grilled, and it was absolutely delicious. The Alfredo sauce was rich and flavorful, the pasta was cooked perfectly, and the crispy breaded chicken made the dish even better. What really made the experience stand out was the customer service. The owner greeted us at the door with a handshake, thanked us for coming in, and took the time to walk us through the menu since it was our first visit. That personal touch made us feel genuinely welcomed. He even brought our meals to the table himself and thanked us again for supporting the restaurant. It's rare to find a place that combines incredible food with such genuine hospitality. You can tell they truly care about their customers and take pride in what they serve.
