    Fair food... nothing soup-er
    Maria T.

This was not a soup-er experience. So here's the deal... we walked in, went to the kiosk and placed our order ourselves... then went to sit down at a filthy table...we took out our Lysol and wiped the table ourselves... then our buzzer went off and we picked up our food ourselves.... then we are expected to clear the table after we eat ... and you prompt us to leave a tip??? Here's a tip... don't ask the customer to leave a tip when they are doing all the work! You owe me a tip! Not impressed by this business model. I find it very impersonal. Now to the meal: I ordered the citrus Asian crunch salad with chicken. It should have been called the citrus hide and seek chicken salad because I had to search through the lettuce to find the 3 or 4 tiny pieces of chicken in the bowl. I was given a dirty fork and when I walked to the counter for another one, the employee wasn't apologetic and just handed me yet another dirty fork! I asked for a plastic fork, which was wrapped, so I was assured of it's cleanliness. The girl in the kitchen couldn't have cared less. I also ordered the broccoli cheddar soup for my "pick 2". It was pretty satisfying but average. My friend ordered the French onion soup which looked a mess, and a sandwich that was not well executed. What a disappointing dining misadventure. Although this is a chain store, other Panera locations are much better that this one, so I'm surmising the poor service is a management issue. "Panera" roughly mean "bread basket"... I'll be spending my "pan" or "bread" elsewhere.

Stop by this location because I was in the area and assumed that since it was early I would get good quality food, ordered the new sausage egg cheese croissant. Before I pushed send order was ready obviously it couldn't been fresh when I voiced my displeasure the clerk told me it took literally 18 seconds to make a sandwich. For this location to be in upscale Short Pump it is the worst. Sandwich was disgusting I would have gotten a refund but it was a free reward sandwich bit I will not be patronizing this location.

This is usually a "go-to" Place for me. Usually pretty consistent. However. Ordered the Napa chicken salad and the sandwich. More like I paid for two slices of bread and a spoonful of chicken salad. I know they are busy. But geeeez.

Great place for breakfast! Nice and clean location with friendly service! Stepped in for a quick breakfast before attending a conference nearby at the Hilton Short Pump. It was nice and clean and bright inside, as well as cozy! I was pleasantly surprised when the cashier informed me that I get a free bagel every day through out the month of October! I picked the pumpkin spice, of course, to usher in the celebration of fall! I ordered a yogurt with fresh berries and a egg white, turkey, spinach breakfast bagel! Absolutely delicious !!! So if you want a little more than just the standard Starbucks, I highly recommend Panera!!! It's a healthy and heartier alternative!!! If breakfast is the most important part of the day, why not make it worth your while and stop in Panera's!!!

French onion soup with baguette, Caesar salad, and a cinnamon crunch scone. An awesome meal at a great price! Staff was very accommodating!

The food is on par with other Panera Bread locations. You get what you pay for (especially compared to fast food restaurants), and my meal had great quality and flavor for the price tag! I ordered a bowl of french onion soup, a Caesar salad, a cinnamon caramel crunch scone, and some plum ginger hibiscus tea. Checkout using the self-service kiosk was straightforward, and most of the food items had customization items I may have otherwise missed. The entire bill came out to around 13 bucks - not bad at all for the volume of food! The french onion soup was savory, with just enough cheese and croutons to balance the dish out. The complementary baguette, while tasty on its own, was the perfect utensil for finishing out that last sip of brothy goodness! The Caesar salad was crisp, presented neatly, and the ingredients seemed to be proportioned out well. Just enough dressing to give that signature Caesar flavor, but not enough to drown out the nuances of the parmesan and romaine! My drink and dessert complemented each other well; the more delicate flavors of the tea played well with the more direct sweetness of the scone. I loved the texture of the scone (the pieces of apple and caramel baked into the dough were a nice touch) and was pleased that it wasn't too dry. The entire meal experience was satisfying. I was surprised to see staff members bringing food directly to our table. A nice touch, and I haven't seen that in a Panera before. Staff members were friendly and accommodating. I agree with what some others have said; tables and seats were a little dirty, and I had to clean a table myself before sitting down (crumbs and residue from a drink), but it wasn't so bad that I was wigged out by it. This is probably the only reason I'm not giving a 5-star review. Overall, a great experience and a wonderful lunch. A perfect (and mostly healthier) alternative to fast food! Would definitely go back to this location again.

Yep, Panera you are failing in quality alot lately...2/3 full smoothies...and pitiful flat bread turkey cran. Look at these pictures..

Really disappointed by this location.. normally I go to the Stony Point or the Brandermill location but I work close to the Short Pump /Westgate and went to get my usual Green passion smoothie for lunch.. The cup is always only 3/4 full and its almost $5. * this happened 3 days in a row. The other 2 locations when I get them they actually put on dome lids to accomodate the excess smoothie. Really all Id expect is for the cup to be actually full. :(

the food is always delicious when we come here but i have to say goin durin lunch time is wayyy better than at dinner time. the bread was not hitting, there was no lids or straws, plastic silverware, paper bowl, and broken registers (that was more technical). but the salad was amazing! totally recommend the caesar with chicken! you won't regret it!

Mediterranean Veggie Sandwich on Tomato Basil Bread.

Panera Bread is very consistent in their service and food. I am sure there are better Panera Restaurants than others, however I have been in several and they all seem to be about the same. The service when you make the Order is polite and prompt. The only problem is, they do not tell you about Specials or other items they have which may increase Sales for the Restaurant. I feel this is the Managers' fault as he is not training his crew properly. I had the Mediterranean Veggie Sandwich on the Tomato Basil Bread. It was recommend to me by another Yelper and her name is LadieJaymes. I thought the Sandwich was excellent and the Bread was Outstanding. I love the taste of the bread and how fresh it was. However the price in which they are charging for the size of the sandwich... is really high. I have eaten in other sandwich shops and they do not charge you this much as they are putting meat on their sandwiches. So, I feel it is overpriced. I also asked for some Mayo as the sandwich needed something extra, and the Mayo did just the job. I bought a Ice Tea, however when I got to fill my glass, I noticed they had Acai Berry Ice Tea unsweetened. So, I decided to go for it. I am a real tea fan, so this was a chance to try something different. I will say, in all honesty... I did not like the taste. This is my first time in tasting what the Acai Berry is like, and I will tell you... I will not drink this again. I thought I was drinking medicine and it was NOT good. It may be an acquired taste, however I do not want to take the time to acquire the taste... so I will go back to the Old Fashion Lipton Tea...! Anyway, Panera Bread is a great place to enjoy yourself with friends and have great conversation. They do not rush you, and you can sit as long as you want. So, I suggest going and if you get a chance to try this sandwich, I think you will enjoy it a lot. Just remember to order Mayo... I am glad I did.... See you there. ;-))

We were surprised by the size of the restaurant when we walked in. It seems smaller from the outside; not that it was huge, just deceiving. It reminded me of a homey Jason's Deli (IYKYK). The woman at the counter was helpful and kind. We had a few questions about some items on the menu, and she asked the kitchen staff anything that she didn't know offhand. We decided on the fried cauliflower for an appetizer; it was monstrously huge, and much more flavorful than I expected. The spices and textures on the plate added a lot to the dish's overall essence. I ordered the Rachel for an entree, and my partner ordered the Sharona. I subbed the chips for a side salad. The salad was tangy or tart, almost bitter. I didn't mind; I thought it was quite good. It is a lot of acidity if you are not expecting it. The Rachel was fantastic, except that the coleslaw had some onion bits mixed in. We are not onion fans in this household. Ha The Sharona would have been a better choice, as I much prefer pickles to oniony coleslaw. My partner said she really liked hers. We had half a sandwich each for leftovers the next day, and shared the leftover chips, since I finished off my salad the night before. The sandwiches heated up exquisitely in the oven at 325°F for 15 minutes. I felt that Susie's is a definite hidden gem, and I can recommend it to anyone who likes a well-made sandwich. I will be back to sample more of the menu and report back my findings at a future date.

If they aren't part of the decor, it was a treat nonetheless. We stepped inside from the rain with a parking spot very near the door. I snapped a pic on the way in to capture it's essence. We risked another walk-in with no reservations, and we snagged two prime end seats on the communal table. There were two open seats at the bar as well; might come in handy some other rainy Thursday night. The server, Murphy M., judging by the receipt, who helped my partner and I with our order, was a gracious host and incredibly well-practiced. It was a master class in serving, made effortless by him. He could not have been more accommodating, as we saw him appear inevitably at the exact right moments. Our server offered us bread and oil before the appetizer. The bread here is made fresh daily. It was so soft, I could not tell the difference from store bought. The food was exquisitely well prepared, the chefs and kitchen staff are immensely skilled. The appetizer was presented to us within a relatively short amount of time. We had time for a short discussion before the it arrived. The Tiropita was described as "four pieces of heaven." Accurate. The phyllo was thin and crisp, and the feta was creamy and delicious. I was careful not to bite too hard and ruin my pants. I had the Kotopoulo, which is a feta-brined oven-baked chicken with lemon and herbs served with lemon potatoes. The dish was cooked to perfection. The cooked potatoes were exactly as I like them, soft yet held their shape. It was an excellent meal, if a bit unwieldy (it's like half a rotisserie chicken, basically). My partner had the Hilopites, an egg noodle dish with giant beans, pine nuts, kalamata olives, cherry tomatoes, and feta, in a creamy, savory sauce that I couldn't begin to describe with mere words. The meals were both stunning, made unclear by my disastrous photography. All that being said, I did not really enjoy my meal as I was expecting. Maybe it's me, maybe it's today, or maybe the flavors simply weren't what I am accustomed to with the dozens of Greek restaurants from my past. I'm uncertain, and that's okay sometimes. Either way, it was a fantastic experience, and I will dine here again.
