No problem I could deal with that but when I got home, they did not have the double protein I ordered for my son. He added Lamb and all there was was a small amount of chicken. When I tried to call there was no answer. I had to send an email. I had to wait a couple days to hear back. It looks like they have changed their menu since the last time I ate there, so I was excited to see a lamb gyro available... But it was so disappointing, I may not even go back. I certainly will NEVER order the gyro again!! The list of ingredients looks good, but the real thing isn't. First, the amount of lamb was stingy - the manager claimed it was 3 ounces, but I've seen a lot of 3 ounce servings and this was short. I went ahead and paid for extra protein, in order to have a decent amount of lamb - I shouldn't have, because the "lamb" could have been ANY meat at all. It was SO heavily spiced - I don't mean spices too hot, I mean TOO MUCH SPICE - that nothing else had any flavor, not even the feta cheese, and any lamb flavor was drowned out by the spices. The construction of the gyro was awful - the lettuce and shredded lamb were spread along the length of the pita, but then the tzaziki and feta were just plopped in a pile in the middle, not spread out at all. I asked the server not to roll it up, so that I could at least spread the cheese and tzaziki out before rolling it up, and this was practically unheard of. Of course, this was before I tasted it - I shouldn't have bothered with the request. Not only was the spice overwhelming, the pita was soggy, as in Not Cooked Enough. So basically, I ended up with a soggy pita with stuff on it that tasted of nothing but a whole lot of rather generic spices. For over $20. I couldn't bring myself to finish even 1/3 of it, even though I was hungry - it was just that bad. The servers were doing their best, but clearly didn't understand what a gyro is supposed to be, and the manager seemed to only be interested in getting the most money possible. read more

This location is terrible now. You used to be able to get a decent amount of food for your money. However, now they give you skimp portions and have brown greens half the time. This place has become so stingy even when you're paying for extra. Today the women employees tried to argue with me about wanting extra chicken and tried to only give an extra half of a scoop. I know extra is at least 1 or 2 extra scoops. If I'm paying for extra that is what I expect. There is no reason why you're being stingy if I'm paying for extra especially almost $2 extra. I went to Mezeh a couple nights ago to stock up before the snowstorm, and I just had to leave a review because the two female employees working that night were absolutely amazing. Anyone else having to work in those conditions would probably be stressed or upset, but they were so kind, positive, and welcoming. Their attitudes completely changed the experience and made it enjoyable instead of rushed or chaotic. Great food as always, but even better service. We have been going to MEZA near Glenside for many years. I am sad to say we are not going any more. Over the years they have eliminated items, some really good ones, and did not bring anything in to replace it. Only decreasing our options. The portion size of the proteins have decreased to maybe, if you are lucky, to a shaken, leveled off serving spoon. on top of that it is $3.50 addition to give you less. when I asked for a little more they said only if I order double protein. I responded I would like for you to put the right amount in the bowl from the start. Lately the flavor and quality is suffering. My meal last night was horrible. I ate maybe 1/4 of it and tossed the rest. I appears the management has changed as well as the staff. I the past everyone was friendly and smiling. Now they have robots with zero personality. They cook, which might be the manager or not, just stares at you, kinda creepy, and never speaks. I don't know what they did to the lamb shawarma, It was light in color with a good flavor. DISGUSTING AND DISAPPOINTING! I came to this establishment today and ordered a rice bowl with mixed greens and arugula. I get home to enjoy my meal when I bite down into something that tasted very foul. I spit the food out and notice some movement in my bowl. Out crawls a stink bug with missing legs that I'm certain I chewed. I bring my receipt as well as video footage of the moving bug and the manager of the store. Proceeds to tell me that he cannot reimburse my money in store and that I would have to speak with customer service by phone. I have contacted customer service multiple times to no avail.. We went last night and saw the cool outdoor seating, the kind of 70's décor and the streamline layout. They have a card menu to help guide you through all the entrée choices. Bowl, wrap or pita... now the fun begins... as you go down the line you can choose the bed of greens you prefer, the grains, the proteins, the veggies/toppings and the sauces. We all got the bowls which came with a fluffy serving of pita! I picked a mixture of kale and salad greens as the base for my bowl, White basmati rice, falafel, then roasted corn, minted carrots, olive salad, hummus, bulgar, onion, beets and tzatziki sauce. When we went through the steps, the server was patient with my Hubby and I being first timers. She gave us generous portions and asked us to wait for fresh falafel. We didn't mind a bit! They make their ingredients in small batches to ensure freshness! We all got a different proteins, lamb, chicken etc. The price averages about 10$ a head without beverages. Healthy eating and you won't falafel after this meal! We carried our trays to the counter for utensils and drinks, which was well stocked and clean. We stopped here to grab dinner after our long day at the hospital. I decided on the bowl with lamb kefta, arugula and kale. My toppings were the roasted corn, spicy hummus, babaganoush, tabouli, pickled onions, pickled beets, and Harrisa sauce. After it was made, it was quite a hefty bowl. The lamb kefta was tender and not dry. It went well with the babganoush and spicy hummus. The pickled onions and beets were not too tart and added a good flavor to the bowl when all mixed together. I was quite surprised how good this bowl was. For the price and amount of food, it is a good deal. It was so good that we came back several days later for lunch.
