    Kale, bulgar, chicken

I like that this can be a healthy option, if you choose right. That was our goal and it largely hit. My daughter (D1 athlete home for a visit) said it was 11 out of 10; she loved it, but doesn't hurt that I'm buying. I think if I played with options mine could be great, but it was just okay. I ordered kale with bulgar, chicken, corn, tomatoes, cucumber, sweet potato, beets and cilantro lime. I think the overwhelming flavor was just kale. It needed some crunch and dynamics. The dressing is good and the chicken was flavorful. Portions are large. They are pretty expensive. Would I go again, of course, but I won't be craving it like I do a great poke bowl.

Roots Natural Kitchen bowls never disappoint. I recently stopped by this location to get their Roots Bowl, and it was fantastic. I really appreciated the servers ensuring that my bowl was gluten free. My sister tried the Astra Bowl; she was excited to try it because of the sriracha peas but found the bowl wasn't as great as she had hoped. One thing to note is the time it took to place our order. I'm not sure if it was due to the time of day or the location, but we did had to wait a while to order due to long lines.

This is what pops up anytime I try to order any food, at any time of day through the roots app and website

I'm not a big yelp reviewer, but I really want to see roots do better. I historically have thought that roots offered a good amount of food for a good price. Roots gets a 1 star because I want someone in charge to know that it is almost impossible to order food off of your online platform. The only place I can reliably order from is uber eats. The roots website and app always offers better pricing and I like supporting small business without uber taking their massive % off the top. A shame that the app experience is such a disaster

This was a cute, healthy dinner to keep me on track while traveling for work. You order at the counter and watch as the staff mix up your meal. I tried the Apollo salad which was loaded with fresh vegetables, protein, delicious lemony dressing which left me completely stuffed. If you're not into the already curated salad and grain bowls you can custom create your own. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is plenty of seating inside but for those who would rather grab and go, there's a designated wall covered in shelves for online order pickup.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Definitely will go back next time I'm in town!

OMG! I tried to lick the bowl but I didn't want to be judged. This is the best salad I've ever had my life! I had the Presto Caesar-WOW! Hints of Fattoush Hints of Tabbouleh The creamy Caesar Texture, taste and flavor. It pops!

All of my friends know that Roots is my go-to for a quick, delicious, healthy meal. I really appreciate that whether I order there or ahead in the mobile app, I can get my food quickly and just as I ordered. If you are a vegetarian or like and just enjoy meatless options, I highly suggest trying any of their tofu varieties. My favorite is the miso tofu. They also load up your bowl with all of the toppings you want, like mushrooms, sweet potatoes, beets, broccoli, rice, and greens. They also have choices such as their Cobb salad or El Jeffe if you want a combo of ingredients by their choosing. You can opt for a make your own bowl, which is my usual choice. The seating is indoors with a few table options in the front and back of the restaurant but I would not describe it at all as a sit down room. It's very casual and convenient which food that is top notch.

Updating my review on roots because I finally tried the tofu and it was amazing!! My favorite bowl is the el jefe and I switched out the chicken for the bbq tofu and the combination was fantastic - highly recommend! I am new to tofu this year but I think I like it better than the chicken at roots (which says a lot because the chicken is so good!) I am always impressed by the portion sizes at roots; I like to do 1/2 and 1/2 brown rice and kale and it's the perfect ratio.

Cobb salad (avocado, egg and sweet potato are in there - it just needed a good stir) & the Balboa bowl
    Stephanie B.

Enjoyed a delicious, healthy lunch here yesterday with my guy! I had the Cobb but subbed the dressing for what was offered on the Mayweather. He ordered the Balboa without onions. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout answering questions and making suggestions. The portions were more than generous (we both ended up taking some home for later). The dining area was clean and well maintained. The music was a little loud but that's what you get at most restaurants today, maybe I'm just getting older ;) If you love salads or grain bowls you have to give this place a try. Will definitely be back for another meal soon!

Modified El Jefe with bbq tofu. Huge portions and SO tasty.

THANK YOU, Roots, for always doing what Cava never does - fill the bowls up as advertised! I always mobile order, and I never have to ask for extra rice or anything. The portions are fair and proportionate. I always come back to Roots because of this. Plus the vegan bowls/BBQ tofu is so good.

Build your own bowl half full for full price.

As such, it doesn't exactly feel great to be downgrading my review, but my previous sentiments aren't necessarily accurate anymore. My visits have dropped off in recent months, and it seems like the restaurant itself is dropping off, too, if you just read some of their latest reviews or stop in. I know they had a shift in their ownership, and it appears to be reflecting poorly on the restaurant. I'm not a big craft beer drinker anymore, but it turns out that doesn't matter, as Crafted is no longer a craft beer spot (see the picture I posted today for their offerings). I used to looooove traipsing over there to try their rotating draft list with some top-tier brands on it. This past weekend, I had a beer-loving friend in town from another state, so we stopped in on Thursday night. The bar area was pretty empty around 7 pm. I was embarrassed that I wasted his time, as they just serve domestics and the most basic of local pours these days. When I talked to the bartender about it, he seemed fairly nonchalant and informed me that Crafted can mean more than beer, such as craft food and craft cocktails. So let's talk about the craft cocktail I ordered. I selected the espresso martini. I love a good espresso martini. Crafted managed to serve me the worst one I genuinely think I've ever consumed. It was weirdly frigid, crunchy, and looked like it was curdling upon arrival. I don't know how they managed it, but I would highly recommend not ordering one of those. I've ordered quite a bit from their food menu over the years. I didn't order any food on our latest trip to see if it fits the "craft" label, but I've been within the past few months for dinner and it was just okay. Nothing extraordinary. I know they're impacted by inflation so I won't comment on the drastic price increases I've seen beyond saying they have been pretty steep jumps for decreasing quality. At this point in time, unless they have a major revamp, I don't see a reason to return. I'd rather spend my money on an experience I know is going to be better and my money will be appreciated, such as at my other neighbors, Acacia and Shagbark.

I highly recommend starting with the drinks -- the menu has a wide variety of creative options, but…read moreeven the well drinks were solid. Great bar all around. As for the food, the crab dip has more of a soup-like consistency, so if you're expecting something thick and hearty, it might not be for you. The chips and queso were pretty basic -- not bad, but nothing memorable. On my first visit, I ordered the beef and cheddar, but the beef was really dry, and I wouldn't recommend it. On a return visit, I got the club wrap with onion rings, and it was much better -- flavorful, fresh, and well put together. Service has been consistently attentive and welcoming, which always makes a difference. I'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu.

If they aren't part of the decor, it was a treat nonetheless. We stepped inside from the rain with a parking spot very near the door. I snapped a pic on the way in to capture it's essence. We risked another walk-in with no reservations, and we snagged two prime end seats on the communal table. There were two open seats at the bar as well; might come in handy some other rainy Thursday night. The server, Murphy M., judging by the receipt, who helped my partner and I with our order, was a gracious host and incredibly well-practiced. It was a master class in serving, made effortless by him. He could not have been more accommodating, as we saw him appear inevitably at the exact right moments. Our server offered us bread and oil before the appetizer. The bread here is made fresh daily. It was so soft, I could not tell the difference from store bought. The food was exquisitely well prepared, the chefs and kitchen staff are immensely skilled. The appetizer was presented to us within a relatively short amount of time. We had time for a short discussion before the it arrived. The Tiropita was described as "four pieces of heaven." Accurate. The phyllo was thin and crisp, and the feta was creamy and delicious. I was careful not to bite too hard and ruin my pants. I had the Kotopoulo, which is a feta-brined oven-baked chicken with lemon and herbs served with lemon potatoes. The dish was cooked to perfection. The cooked potatoes were exactly as I like them, soft yet held their shape. It was an excellent meal, if a bit unwieldy (it's like half a rotisserie chicken, basically). My partner had the Hilopites, an egg noodle dish with giant beans, pine nuts, kalamata olives, cherry tomatoes, and feta, in a creamy, savory sauce that I couldn't begin to describe with mere words. The meals were both stunning, made unclear by my disastrous photography. All that being said, I did not really enjoy my meal as I was expecting. Maybe it's me, maybe it's today, or maybe the flavors simply weren't what I am accustomed to with the dozens of Greek restaurants from my past. I'm uncertain, and that's okay sometimes. Either way, it was a fantastic experience, and I will dine here again.
