This was a better than expected experience and surprised I haven't been here before. Although it's in a strip mall, it's pretty cute inside and had a lively vibe. It looked like a group of regulars in the bar area jamming to tunes on a week night. They have a good menu, reasonable prices and tastes great. I told the server no cheese on my club. I told her more than once. She did not write it down so I told her again as she walked off "I have a dairy allergy. Please make sure there is no cheese." She nodded and indicated that she understood. My sandwich arrives and the lettuce is wilted, the tomatoes are over ripe. I thankfully only ate half because it tasted "off". I thought it was because they didn't put any mayo or sauce on it. Fair, many people think mayo/eggs are dairy. Decided to eat the bacon off the half I didn't eat. That's when I saw it. CHEESE!! This place is conveniently located, really cute on the inside, and has a big range of food. We came in on a Friday night around 8pm, and didn't have to wait at all for a table. Our waitress was nice, if pretty busy, and couldn't spend all that much time with us. My fiancé was recommended the salmon by the staff, but was underwhelmed- the fish filet was thin and small, the veggies undercooked, and the rice pilaf lacked flavor. I ordered the Bistro Pasta, and was underwhelmed (it generally tasted like butter noodles with garlic on them). My food was cooked well, just wasn't as special as I'd have hoped. We enjoyed the ambiance, but the food left us wanting. I will caveat that with the fact that we ordered the spring roll appetizer, and those were delicious! I'd be back for appetizers just to get my own plate of spring rolls. I found this to be a very charming and quaint restaurant to gather for a family Sunday brunch. The food was very tasty and served promptly. I had a build-your-own omelette with a side of breakfast potatoes which were all cooked perfectly. The pancakes were very generously proportioned and light as a feather. I was invited here by a dear friend for one of our periodic lunches. She arrived about 10 minutes late, but the staff were cordial to allow me to be seated and wait until she arrived. Staff were very attentive throughout our stay, first offering me drinks and whatever else I might want. We had a lot of catch up on, so we had an animated conversation going. The food we ordered and were served was perfect, and the staff checked up on us just the right amount of time so that we always had whatever we needed, but could enjoy our conversation. It was lively in there that day for lunch, but not so loud that we could not hear ourselves. My friend said that she had never heard such an animated crowd in there for dinner, but the lunch crowd was very lively that day--including us. read more

We met up with a friend here for dinner on a Monday night. This place is located in a little strip mall area and there was a lot of parking. We went in and were seated immediately. Even though it was a Monday night, the place was very busy. Monday night is burger night there... so we all got burgers. I got the Olympian and the other two got a Texas burger. The Olympian was very very good!!! I also ordered onion rings but they brought fries out instead. Not a huge deal but I would have preferred the onion rings. They also had decent happy hour prices on beer from 4-7 pm. The service was good overall and it was a nice place to have dinner. My only negative comment about the place is that it gets really loud. The seasoning, the sausage/shrimp combo, and the taste overall was good. However, the texture and consistency of the grits is a problem. I wouldn't recommend this dish just because the grits were too gritty/grainy. If they improve the grits by making them thicker, real southern style grits, they would have a really good dish. Thai calamari (5/5) - Crispy and a good balance of sweet and spicy. I also tried the regular calamari and bang bang shrimp which were both good. How lovely to discover a little place in my neighborhood that says "comfort food" and delivers on that promise. Had late lunch there yesterday, enjoying one of the best bowls of clam chowder I've had in Richmond. Also shared an order of onion rings with my lunch buddy, and I also downed most of a very good Greek salad, which had a wonderful dressing that's definitely made in the Bistro 804 kitchen. I have to downgrade my review at this point because I've had too many bad experiences. In my initial review, I mention they forgot about the app. I've yet to have a meal here where they've actually brought out the correct order. Last time I dined in house, they mixed fries and tots (and forgot my salad) and then argued with me that I ordered tots when I very much did not. The service and inconsistency are the primary reasons why I'm moving my 5-star review down. And both were brought to light tonight at their food truck, "Good Eats." Frankly, I'd love to dispute my credit card charge. They were nothing short of atrocious through and through. I ordered the bistro burger and a side of fries at 6:57 pm. Fifteen minutes later, most everyone who ordered after me had their food. So I nicely asked the lady if mine was in progress. She hesitantly said yes. I also heard her tell the guy at that point that I had already ordered. My friends arrive, we're nearing a 30-minute wait of me awkwardly standing next to the truck, so I again ask for the status of my food and reiterate the time I ordered. She literally did not respond at all. I walk away, super annoyed at this point, then a few seconds later walk back and say I need an answer. The guy chimes in by saying, "I asked you why you were standing there." What, did you whisper? You were standing right there when I ordered. Am I invisible?? And you're going to blame the customer for your error? So at this point I again ask for my food status, as he sticks a burger on the grill, and I demand an apology. I get the most bland apology in return, and a few minutes later, my burger and a few fries were handed over. The burger was trash. The menu said it'd have mayo and bacon on it. Nope. Dry. No sauce. No bacon. I only ate it because I was starving. And at that point, they had proven themselves to be rude and unhelpful, so I certainly wasn't walking back up to ask them to fix it. Absolutely not worth the $14.30 I paid. I loved the cheesesteaks at this place, but I'll find one elsewhere after tonight's treatment. It's not that hard to apologize and own your mistake. You lost my ticket. You skipped over me. You blamed me instead of accepting you made a mistake. I hate writing bad reviews, but this one is 100% warranted. read more

The bang bang shrimp we ordered came out quickly, expertly battered & fried with a teriyaki type dipping sauce - a surprise hit !!! Entrees arrived quickly, as well. The Midnight Blue Burger was a good size with ample toppings. Cobb salad was loaded with fresh ingredients & you got to pick your dressing. This was the "full" size (not sure how big the half size is). A great find in this strip mall - traditional American menu options prepared well. Been here a few times with my fiancé and siblings and everybody loved it. Their food is consistent and the place itself is very nice on the inside. I was craving a sandwich and decided to give this place a try. I got the Muffuletta sandwich with fries, my boyfriend got the lamb gyro with tots and we shared the "balsamic, bacon, sprouts". The Muffuletta had a lot of meat and was very filling, it was delicious and full of flavor. The fries were a bit soggy but it could have been due to the 15 min car ride back home before scarfing it down. My boyfriend really enjoyed his lamb gyro and the tots were pretty decent. The brussel sprouts were not the best I've had, the flavor wasn't incorporated well (some had no flavor at all and others had just a hint of balsamic). Overall, we would definitely order from here again - ordering and pick up was quick and easy. The staff were all wearing masks and super friendly! Note: I had asked for the olive spread on the side for the Muffuletta (wasn't sure if I would have liked it) and they either don't do special requests or forgot to check. We went yesterday for an early lunch. We found this place even though we had been to this shopping center before to visit Coco and Hazel. It's has nice outdoor seating. Since we got there early, we decided to give thee indoor dining a try. It's very nice and quaint. The decor inside is warm and inviting. It is nor a large space, but social distancing can be achieved. We were the first people in to eat and had pick of the place. We sat by the front window. The lighting is ample and decor is very nice. There is a bar that I separate from the dining room. They have happy hour from 11am to 7pm. The drinks are good. The only thing is it seemed like there was one person running he frontline. He did a great job with handling our ordered, drinks, and the parties coming in. I wish he had some help. Yet, he was attentive to all. The food was all so good. We ordered the bang bang shrimp and the sauce it was covered in and the sauce it is served with we a great combination and mix. Taste very good. We also ordered the crab dip. I was very impressed with the amount we received. It was more than enough and it was very good. I ordered the Gyro. The lamb was juicy and the fries were cooked just right. He ordered the turkey clib and it had a very generous amount of met and topping. The tots were cooked just right. We will definitely venture here again. We were so full we couldn't even think about desert. Oh and the drinks. I got a Tuckhoe something. It has Pinot Grigio and strawberries. It was strong and good. He had a mule. He said it was good. I was looking forward to this visit to this new spot, but I left feeling a bit disappointed. First of all, on a Sunday afternoon, they were busy, but not every table full busy. Still, it took them a LONG time to get our order, bring our food and bring a check. So, maybe they're short staffed? Understandable. But why walk by our table TWO times, see empty plates, and keep walking without asking if we need anything else or the check? Strange service, not well-timed. Anyhow, we started off with the crab dip. Definitely real crab. A little watery, and the pita warm, but not toasted. Needed salt. But okay. I got the spinach salad with shrimp (cranberry and goat cheese). Excellent! Definitely needed the full size portion, though. I can't imagine what the half size looks like. My sister got the fish and chips, and it was a very sad looking dish. Tiny portion and just zero plate appeal. Looking at the fish after it was cut into, it looked flaky and moist. She said it was okay. My mom got the chicken tenders w/ fries. Another very sad looking dish and tiny portion. And a tiny cup of honey mustard. She didn't complain, though. Perfect venue for a relaxing reunion lunch with friends!! The service was efficient with a friendly server. Although I never received my requested tater tot's (accidentally given fries), the chicken salad special wrap was delicious! I was told when locals were sick from Covid, the owners took food to their homes to feed them for a week. Rick a local said " My friends and I come here weekly to catch up on our day to day lives and fellowship with one another". In my opinion, the bar scene reminded me of the show "Cheers". The Bistro has a diverse menu. They have make your own burger night, ladies night and taco night just to name a few. They are a Lebanese family so they do offer some authentic dishes from their country too.
