I ordered the salmon and it was done well! My only personal preference would be to swap the green beans for the collards next time--the green beans just weren't cooked quite the way I prefer. Food was good service was horrible. We went in and they told us that it would be 15 minutes for a table, fine, I indicated we wanted inside , since the heat index was 105. There is a huge empty booth right in the front across from the hostess stand, no one was sitting there, we asked if we could sit there for just a moment to cool off in the AC- we were rudely told no we had to wait outside. The next family in line included 2 elderly women and a baby all dressed gorgeous, they also were told they had to wait outside in 105 weather. After about 20 minutes of waiting, (I was just going to tell them to forget it) they said our table was ready. Well, instead of inside with AC as we requested we were seated in a gazebo porch area that they claimed had AC. By this time we were so desperate for cool, we didn't argue that we had requested INSIDE not whatever this room was. It ended up being like sitting in a tuna can. So uncomfortable, my husband and bro in law just went and sat in the car with the AC blasting. Waitress was sporadic to put it nicely. Hubby had short ribs, Brussels and cheese grits. Kiddo had chicken and waffles with gravy, and I had the Barbecue Sundae. All three were so tasty! Each dish, whether main course or side was executed so beautifully. The collards on the sundae were the best I've ever had. If I could cook them like that, I'd have them more often. My partner and I had dinner at Lunch. Supper! last Friday, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The atmosphere is casual, welcoming, and lively without feeling overwhelming. The menu has so many tempting options that it was hard to choose, but we both landed on the Hot Chicken Sandwich with cayenne butter--and we're glad we did. It had the perfect amount of heat: enough to bring some spice without overpowering the flavor. On the side, I ordered the green beans after our bartender/server highly recommended them. Normally, green beans wouldn't be my first choice, but they were seasoned perfectly and ended up being one of the biggest surprises of the meal. My partner chose the mac and cheese, which was the superior side (although both were excellent). The service was friendly, attentive, and genuine throughout the evening. Despite arriving on a Friday night without a reservation, we had no trouble getting a table. They only accept reservations for parties of 5-8, so I'm glad we decided to take our chances. One of my favorite parts of the evening was chatting with another guest at the bar. He and his wife shared several entrées with their young son, and they couldn't stop raving about the short ribs--which their son happily claimed for himself by the end of the meal! They also highly recommended the salmon, so we've already got ideas for our next visit. The only real downside has nothing to do with the restaurant itself: parking in Scott's Addition can be a challenge. I'd recommend allowing yourself some extra time to find a spot or, even better, taking a rideshare so you can start enjoying your evening right away. Lunch. I had the fried green tomato BLT with a side of grits and have been thinking about this meal ever since. This was a very creative twist on a classic and was the perfect combination of sweet and savory, crunchy and soft. I don't think I've ever had a bad time whenever coming here. One of my bestie were out doing a long walk around the city and decided to come here for brunch. The food was just as good as I first time came here. I got their gravy & biscuit (aka Trainwreck) and my friend got their healthy wrap. I came here on a Saturday around noon with a friend. We had to wait about 15 minutes. We were told it would be a 30 minute wait. We sat at a high top table in the back, which was nice because it was away from all the noise. There's a lot of large groups and families so it's very loud inside. The outdoor space might have been a bit less loud. I got the spicy bloody Mary, which was made mildly spicy per my request, it was super delicious. I ordered the biscuits with gravy, sausage, eggs & cheese and as you can see the portion was ginormous. I finished most of it, but was not hungry the rest of the day. This place was very inviting and they validate parking in a busy part of Richmond. My son and I were driving to Fredricksburg for his soccer tournament and the reviews and menu caught me . The meat was so tender I could cut it with a spoon. The brussel sprouts lightly sautéed and tasted great with the mashed and short ribs. My son loved his breakfast for dinner. He devoured his scrambled eggs potatoes and pork sausage and pancakes. He gave me half a pancake so I could use it to soak up my gravy after finishing my meal. Bridgette was a very hospitable server and help us choose our meals with her suggestions. The porch was relaxing and enjoyable. The doctor was unique. My favorite is the eagle head (See photo). I left this place in a good kind of food coma. I was in food nirvana. Everyone in my party got sandwiches. I got the pickled & fried with the Mac and cheese. If you know anything about ordering Mac and cheese, you know it's a hit or miss. This Mac was a win. My party literally couldn't stop talking about it. We placed our names on a waitlist and were seated about 30-40 minutes after in the covered outdoor area that was greenhouse style - lovely area! The food was delicious and our waitress was friendly. Their fried chicken is mouthwatering and flavorful. The Mac and cheese is also a standout and very good. Portions are generous. I loved that the menu had a huge amount of variety so there is truly something for everyone there. I think the only improvement I would offer is some more clarity on the different parts of the restaurant - it seems one portion has a limited menu and the other (where we ate) is more extensive. A friend and I came for brunch this past weekend. We were both excited to try this restaurant as we'd heard lots of good things. Parking was a little tricky, but we were able to find a spot not too far away. I didn't realize that the restaurant was separated into two parts-as you enter, you go right for lunch and left for dinner. It was a really cute place. We sat outside and were able to enjoy the music coming from the "dinner" yard. I opted for the Sauer's Garden omelet with a side of cheesy grits. My friend got the avocado toast. My wife and I went to Supper yesterday, and I ordered the Brisket Bowl and Brussels Sprouts. Typically, Lunch Supper is my go-to spot because they never fail. But... yesterday was not food as usual. The Brisket Bowl looked great when it came out, but it not only lacked flavor, but the brisket was dry, with no bark, and tough. I am a brisket fanatic, and I was highly disappointed. I was so disappointed that I couldn't complete the bowl. The Brussels Sprouts were flavorful, but there was only one sliver of bacon. Tomatoes were excellent flavor wise; hard to eat...they basically fell apart when trying to slice them up. Bacon really set them off. Short ribs were phenomenal. Fork tender, very flavorful. The mashed potatoes and brussels sprouts complemented the meat very well. I could have eaten the entire thing and been happy....but I saved half of it because I wanted to see how their dessert menu looked. OMG. Krispy Kreme bread pudding. Unbelievable. Like crack in a bowl. So far everything is awesome. But to the ambiance...as I mentioned, it was 5-ish on a Saturday. Already semi-dark in the bar area. Well somebody decided (about 5:20-5:30) to dim the lights in the bar area. Which made it decidedly more awkward in my opinion to eat.
