I hadn't been here in years and came back for brunch with a group of four. Everything that came out looked amazing, but I have to say--the Caesar salad was so good I'd come back just for that. We also had a special Irish cake for St. Patrick's Day that was really, really good. Our server was super nice and just really good, which made it even better. Definitely glad we came back.

We popped in on a late Sunday morning. Not from the area but it had good reviews. As a picky eater I was a little nervous. The service was okay, they seemed maybe a little over busy. The place is another quirky place, which has its own style and level of cleanliness. The food was very good! The sandwhich I had was absolutely delicious, flavorful and cooked perfectly. His food was also very good and so much. Their house potatoes are SO good. I was worried by the look, but man the taste is there. It's really cool seeing the chefs cook as well.

The food is delicious! The quantity is amazing! The service is great! We love coming for brunch. Millie time, is the only time we can get my glamorous daughter to be ready in less than an hour. A great place to visit when we go to Richmond! The corn beef is our favorite!

The service was amazing, the food was delish. We sat outside on the patio... there was a covering over it and they had fans to help us survive the heat. Orange juice tasted fresh squeezed. The menu had lots of fun and creative dishes try choose from... probably not the spot for a picky eater but awesome for someone more adventurous. Loved the steak and eggs and felt like it was a great price.

Walked in on Saturday noon. Was told it would be a 20-25 min wait but ended up waiting 45 mins to get seated. Told the nice lady at the reception who seated us that we only have 20 mins to eat; we had a show to watch (which we almost missed!). She took our order immediately and food was served quickly. Atmosphere was very casual. The grilled marinated flank steak and eggs were alright. Nothing special. Giving this a 3/5 -- wait time was too long for food that was alright.

Delicious food. Quick service. Fun vibe in there. Had the Spiked Hot Chocolate with Cruzan Rum and the Lump Crab & Scrambled Egg Enchilada. Only issue ended up being that the home fries were undercooked and tough to chew, but that was just MY experience.

Having only been here once, this place has already become my new favorite spot for a savory breakfast! The menu features elevated breakfast dishes that I wouldn't typically make at home which is what I look for in a restaurant that serves breakfast. I tried the Lump Crab & Scrambled Egg* Enchilada and the Devil's Shrimp & Grits, and honestly, the shrimp and grits were the best I've ever had. OH! and the breakfast potatoes were also the best ever. The place is pretty small, so if you don't have a reservation, be ready for a wait. Luckily, it's near the river, so you can take a walk or hangout on a bench until your table's ready. After my amazing meal and eyeing up all the other yummy-looking dishes being served around me, I cannot wait to go back, and I haven't stopped recommending it to my friends!

Hungover with a headache is how I entered Millie's on a Saturday morning. Buzzed and happily full of food is how I left. I got the huevos ranchero and the Moscow mule. The food was amazing but the Moscow mule brought me back to life. My husband got the Cajun mess and our waitress recommends the mess if you've never been which is what I will be getting next time. 10/10 recommend for food and service but it was the music that was the best!

My group arrived at Millie's for a quick breakfast. There was a 45 min wait. We were seated in about 25 mins, so that was good. The place is small and cute, quaint. We had a party of 6, I ordered the Cornbeef brisket with scrambled eggs with cheese. The brisket was delish but salty, not sure if it was the meat or the potato's but overall it was good. My friend had the salmon and said it was so tender and perfectly cooked. I will definitely go back.

Ate here with some school friends on a Friday afternoon. I got the lobster & eggs, which came scrambled with bacon and tomato, and then topped with puff pastry and hollandaise. The entree was overall good, though I wouldn't get it again. The eggs were unseasoned and the puff pastry was really just in the way. For $18, I expected a little more lobster. The side of potatoes was the best thing on the plate. The service wasn't bad, but there was nothing super great about it either. We stayed a bit after close and chatted on the porch and no one tried to rush us away, which I really appreciated. I'd return if I'm in the area.

What a hidden gem! I live so close to this place and never realized it was here, but I have been really missing out. The food and drinks were so delicious and the prices are not bad considering the quality and uniqueness of the items. Our server was amazing, he was so cool and checked on us frequently even though it was a busy Saturday morning. I also love that you can make reservations - pretty rare for a diner-type restaurant, so that was a big win. Cannot wait to eat here again and try something new.

New year, new food! I got away from reviewing last year, and want to make sure I get back to it, starting with my New Years brunch at Millie's. As a reminder, my grading system gives a grade on each star, for my final tally. The 5 categories are: Service Ambiance Food Cost v Value Overall experience Millie's is a staple of the RVA brunch scene, often times needing reservations. They have a small outdoor seating area that is both covered and heated. Inside there is a bar area, and two dining areas with booths & tables. We sat outside and our server greeted us promptly. She was very nice and helpful, with a festive Christmas sweater. Reading over the menu, I never knew the history of Millie's! I strongly encourage anyone who eats there to read it, as the story is fascinating. After reading this I decided that "The Devils Mess" was my go to, while my gf got the NYE special "The Struggle Bus". Both of them were amazing! I didn't realize that the eggs in the mess were done frittata style, and anything with jalapeño biscuits is going to be great. The food was fantastic, filling, and definitely worth the under 20 price tag. Even though we were stuffed, we couldn't resist the cranberry buttercream chocolate cake. Moist, and delicious! This is certainly a place that you don't want to miss when visiting Richmond, and I feel bad that it's taken me this long to visit! Already excited about my next visit...

Only street parking is available, but it wasn't too difficult to find a spot. The atmosphere: Very rustic vibe with some farmhouse-style decor. They have table, high-top, bar, and patio seating available. The food: I opted for the Chicken and Waffles with a side of cheese grits. I chose to make it hot for more spice. It's served with one whole waffle, two large pieces of fried chicken, and syrup on the side. The chicken was not seasoned as much as I hoped and wasn't as spicy as I expected, which was a bummer. The cheese grits were alright as well, but not as flavorful as I hoped. My partner ordered the Double Barrel Bowl, and he really enjoyed it. It was packed with pulled pork and was plentiful and filling. The service: Great and kind service from Mave (I believe that is her name but I'm not entirely sure). She informed us about the daily specials and was attentive throughout our visit.

We were first greeted by the most personable, young man that truly made us feel welcome. That's there motto "Welcome Home" His name is EJ. You will know it's him. Because it has that old school I know this food is going to be FIRE, it's Perfect. Soooooo, the music certainly fits this cool old school vibe. The menu was under a very clean glass table topper to view and order. Very big Plus, Sanitary !!!!! I ordered the Fried Chicken (2pcs white), corn muffin comes with the meal, candied yams and cabbage. My plate was BEAUTIFUL, pictures will confirm. The chicken was golden brown, crispy on outside, flavorful and moist on the inside. YES, like my mom's use to be. The yams were perfectly sweet and the caaaabage was delicious. Go early to avoid the crowds, because everyone wants this good food and hospitality. Ooooh Lord, I forgot our extremely attentive server Dana. He checked in while being super busy with other customers, making sure the glasses were refilled in a timely manner. He also offered to go drinks, and very nice to go containers. This review is long because it's accurate and I need to share my experience. Last but not least, the owner came by and asked how was everything with her warm, down home hospitality. She also ask that we visit next door, Mama J's Market, so we did. It was sooo cool. I felt like I was in Greenwich Village NYC. If the restaurant is too busy for you, there in the market you can order from the kiosk and a staff member will bring it to you. There are refrigerated food and meal options to grab and go. Snacks, drinks, a little fresh produce, household and personal items. The Perfect Neighborhood Market. We had our pick of high-tops or traditional seating and chose a booth (the superior choice IMO). The ambiance and atmosphere felt modern and classic with a touch of ostentatious flair (the bird mural and columns up front were gorgeous). I prefer a curated menu and Fall Line keeps it simple. There are options for most people here. We ordered the skillet cornbread to start. C'est magnifique. We ordered from the sharables menu: the barrata, grilled cauliflower, and burnt ends. The barrata was the clear winner, followed by the cornbread. The burnt ends tasted fantastic, yet were too fatty to enjoy fully. Some constructive feedback: The cauliflower was a major disappointment; it needed additional time on the grill and more sauce to boot. I felt the barrata should have included one extra pair of crustinis. The apricot mostarda was divine, though. They don't carry a sour beer, so my partner and I did not partake. All in all, Fall Line Kitchen was a lovely experience, and our server Satya was a pleasure as well. As we exited, the kind host offered to take our picture in front of the light-wrapped columns. What a gentleman. I definitely recommend bringing a date here to enjoy the cozy, intimate setting, as you gaze lovingly into one anothers eyes, take in the exceptional views, and experience all that its surroundings offer.

Celiac- Gluten-free Review…read more I was hype to try Oak & Apple because they have wings, howeverrrr they do not have a dedicated fryer- the wings are smoked and then typically deep fried. I was told that they could grill them for me. I was set to order 10 wings, but was wary of how the texture would be if they were grilled so scaled down to 5. The texture of the skin on the outside was rubbery as I anticipated, but, if this makes sense, I could tell that if they had been fried they would have been A1. The overall flavor and the texture beyond the skin was so good. Wouldn't order them again, but if you can have the wings fried, I say that's a solid choice. Thanks for accommodating me anyhow, I do appreciate the effort. I also got a side of the tea braised collards, which surprised me. Have never had collards prepared that way and I did enjoy the flavor. They were also very clean, and if you've ever had collards that haven't been washed properly, you know how off-putting it is to catch stray pieces of dirt in your teeth. What really fell flat for me were the BBQ nachos. Queso, pulled pork, burnt end beans...couldn't tell where one flavor started and the next one ended. Overall very bland, which was disappointing because it just felt so uninspired. Was expecting more smoke, especially from the burnt end baked beans. And if I'm not getting excited about flavor from your pulled pork or burnt end beans, I'm going to assume that it's going to be the same for the brisket, chicken, and ribs. What stands out for me here- if you're into cider, they've got really good choices on tap, and rotate about ten different types. That's unheard of just about anywhere. I also experienced nothing short of top-tier service, and the people who work the bar are friendly and personable. It's really easy to chat with other patrons seated at the bar as well, I felt like a regular and could have sat there for hours. Even the regulars coming in to grab to-go orders struck up conversations while they were waiting. It feels like a third place with its chill atmosphere and easy vibes. Even with the food not being my favorite, I could easily see myself sliding into a spot at the bar regularly just to hang out and have a few drinks. Also do appreciate the inclusion of gluten-free/gluten-free options, even if I'm not a huge fan. So this is a solid 3.5 stars for me- rounded down since Yelp won't let us do half stars.

BRING YOUR WALLETS AND STRETCHY PANTS!…read more We went as a corporate outing group of 5. The front door is a little tight cause as a popular spot there's a bunch of foot traffic. The lady at the front door was a bit staticky but she got us sat fairly quickly so we could deal with that. Vibes are all wooden, but not creaky. Could be a cool date spot, it was very casual so we were able to be a bit boisterous. Good place to chat and blend in. Service was great and friendly and attentive. The waitress we had always made sure our cups were full and we had napkins and what we needed. We didn't get any alcohol, I got an Arnold Palmer, the wife got a midtown. They were both pretty good, I don't know what the difference was but they slapped. Free refills on sweet tea was dope too! The food came out pretty fast for the portions and quality. The wings are a must get, get the large and if you don't finish air fry them back home (reheat is good) (I would get sauce on the side, we did buffalo). We got like a desert style cornbread with syrup and powdered sugar, not normally my jams but totally delicious (my coworker ordered, I am not into sweets; still 10/10). I had 2 buffalo shrimp and they were also good, I didn't get a flick but that's a safe pick. The mains are pricey (typical soul food prices) but fire!!! Portions were good but the quality of goods and meat are awesome. I eat at a lot of places, the quality was really high here so I think the price tag was fair. My wife got the catfish, I got the stuffed salmon. For our sides we got the greens, cabbage, and the Mac & cheese. I had a couple of things I personally like that I feel would have enhanced the meal but the overall outlook is that this is the place to go. The greens were salty as heck and didn't have like a turkey neck or smoked anything in it, could be a regional preference but that was missing for me. The cabbage was also cooked really well and didn't require much but had no sparkle. Great texture but the flavor wasn't there, I'm also Caribbean so maybe what I like is different, the crunch with a kick would have gone far and maybe some salt from the greens in there. The Mac and cheese was good, I like a creamier one but this will suffice tbh. Overall I'm going to give them a 8.9/10. I could have gotten the wrong things or went on an off day but they certainly delivered and the service was GREAT. I would deff revisit, it's got a lot of charm and personality. The staff were amicable and the bathrooms were clean. I would recommend this spot if you're visiting Richmond!

Our server, LENA was very helpful and friendly. She made sure we knew what was what. She was Awesome. Okay now this FOOD! So much food and everything hot and fresh. You'll be tempted to order an appetizer. I observed the portions and decided I couldn't eat all that... in a week. Definitely getting the fried oysters next time though. The "Fish Boat" comes with 2, 3 or 4 pieces of whiting. It's fried and the onion and pepper "sauce" is a mustardy, vinegar concoction that compliments the fish perfectly. You have your choice of two sides. Typical southern specialties. Collard greens (no pork added) were delicious, with a little kick; Candied Yams and a BRICK OF CORNBREAD. Light, soft sweet cornbread... my goodness. I don't think I can do this food the proper justice it deserves in this review. The chicken strips; the Alfredo were just as good. Even their version of an Arnold Palmer, (The Uptown) was done right. It's worth the drive and definitely worth the calories. If you love southern food, seafood with an ample serving of back in the day hospitality, (it's on the PLATE) stop by and come hungry. My family said it tasted like Thanksgiving. Family cooking seasoned with love. That's exactly right. Oh! GET THE CAKE... for later

Our waiter was also actually quite patient (there was a bit of a wait until my friends got there; I'm sorry!). They had a dj the morning I was there, and I really liked the vibe. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with the side of Lulu's house potatoes and a pomegranate mule. The pomegranate mule was quite strong, and I enjoyed it so much I ordered another one. LOL. The bacon cheeseburger was exactly as I requested. I have no notes. Overall, wonderful experience and would definitely recommend.

They offer a cinnamon butter, strawberry topping, and syrup that prompts an array of tastes. -The pecan cream cheese icing that was with the red velvet waffle was amazing! Service: Josh was our server and did NOT miss a beat. He took our order by memory, everything came out perfect, kept my party's glasses full, and did everything with genuine joy. Ambiance: It is a laid back, relaxed, dine in experience. They provide outside seating, normal dining, and bar seats. The decorations are an independent/modern/expressive look that is not "down your throat". I felt comfortable to sit and chat at my leisure
