Mother's Day brunch at one of our favorite restaurant's in Richmond I had the bacon Gruyère shrimp omelet delish my lovely wife had the shrimp and grits always a hit and sun g a nice time on the patio for Mother's Day with a blood orange mimosa.

Short rib empanadas. They come with three but we ate two before I remember to take a pic lol

Love this spot for an outdoor lunch! I made a reservation for the patio a few days ahead and caught up with a friend on the patio where the food and the weather were definitely competing. Both were winners. We ordered the strawberry goat cheese salad and the fried chicken fennel sandwich with a side of the strawberry cucumber salad. Both were delicious with a perfect balance of flavors and really loved the crispiness of the fried chicken. Parking lot is always pretty packed but it's on a neighborhood so you can usually find street parking. Inside is small so definitely check the weather forecast before you make a reservation. I always recommend a reservation here. Service is always friendly and helpful.

Everything was excellent. We wanted somewhere quiet and outdoors after a day of being around a madhouse pf people and this came up in my search. They seated us where we wanted and were very attentive when needed. My hubby loved the shrimp n grits and my smash burger was great. Our daughter wasn't loving the fries because she said they were skinny and over cooked but she is super picky.

Such a cute spot -- I absolutely loved it! The ambiance is perfect, cozy, and inviting. It's a great brunch location -- not overly crowded, but lively enough to have a good vibe. The décor is spot-on and really adds to the overall experience. The food was delicious! I had the almond croissant French toast with bacon and a blood orange mimosa -- both were amazing. The location isn't in a typical restaurant area, and I do wish it were on a main road or surrounded by more places to explore, but that doesn't take away from how charming it is. The inside is beautifully done with a relaxed, upbeat atmosphere. Definitely a brunch spot worth coming back to!

Corned beef had fresh meat, so tender and moist. The biscuit was incredible!

An unassuming diner in the middle of a neighborhood, Hobnob knocked my socks off. I had brunch with some friends on a leisurely Sunday, and each of the guests remarked on the quality of the food, beautiful decor and friendly service. The interior features clean and modest decor with some pretty plant art on the walls. I liked the comfortable setting, well-lit with natural light. I ordered the corned beef hash, which came with freshly-made beef cubes that were juicy, tender, and well-flavored; not canned! Other plates included the breakfast plate and Chesapeake quiche, which looked remarkable. My wife said the biscuits were probably the best she ever had. I highly recommend trekking out here. Bring your friends, dates, networking buddies, and more. I can't say enough good things about this hidden gem.

We went for lunch. They shrimp and grits was really good. We also got the falafel and fried green tomatoes. The inside is small so you should probably make reservations even for lunch. The customer service was great. We will definitely be back to try their dinner menu.

The services were great but the food was just alright. The idea of each dish is interesting but the delivery was just okay.

Another positive experience. Sat at the bar, service was quick and bartender friendly. Fall 2025 menu featured a butternut squash lasagna - super tasty and portion was perfect. Also tried the bison bolognese, very tasty as well and hearty. Not sure if the pasta is made in hose but it tasted very fresh.

Hobnob is one of my go-to restaurants in Richmond! The food is always delicious and the staff is so attentive and friendly! I went there for brunch and got the Eggs Benedict, and it was absolutely incredible. I highly recommend trying out this spot for any occasion, the desserts are divine too!

What a nice evening at Hobnob! I organize a monthly dinner group and our October visit was to Hobnob. It proved to be a very popular choice. There were 12 of us for dinner. Staff was terrific and took great care of everyone. The shrimp and grits proved to be the most poplar dish at the table. We were also amazed at the portion size of the trout. I was in a mood to graze so I had the fried oysters (great!) and the prosciutto/fig jam flatbread pizza, which was a really amazing combination of flavors, especially with the peppery arugula. Great atmosphere. Look forward to dining there again!

Tiny little out of the way place, this is so cute. Small parking lot admittedly, but with inside, outside, and bar. We chose seating at the bar and the bartender was great. My friend was a bit confusing explaining her separation requires as far as the to go order, her gluten allergy, and how she wanted everything separated for the trip, but the bartender was great about it. I got the spinach omelet and she got the breakfast meal without the biscuit. I didn't get the potatoes that came with it but she mentioned how good they were so I tried them. (I don't normally like potatoes for breakfast, it's nothing against any restaurant.) The potatoes were really good, the sauce on them was delish. My omelet was amazing! I couldn't finish it all, so it went home with my friend for her chickens. She really enjoyed her bacon and eggs, and her fiance will hopefully enjoy his chicken and waffles!

I visited Hobnob one Sunday morning and was seated immediately outside despite waiting on my friend. It was a nice day so this was a good spot. When my friend arrived, the waitress came and gave us menus and waters. We ordered pretty quickly - homemade cinnamons roll to start and breakfast platters with bacon for both of us. The cinnamon roll was solid. The icing was made of cream cheese and while it felt like too much, it went well with the bread. I didn't enjoy my breakfast platter. The potatoes were tossed in what I assume was aioli and I wasn't a fan. The first cup of fruit had a piece of hair. The waitress quickly returned with a new bowl but I was already icked. The bacon tasted over cooked. The biscuit was soft and over medium egg was cooked perfectly so I made a sandwich and used their jam. I don't remember what flavor but it wasn't grape. Anyway, I let my friend finish eating and (forcing herself to) drink her cocktail and I got the check. After taking my card, my friend found a long piece of hair in her cup. At this point I was beyond annoyed so I wanted my card to go. When the waitress returned, I informed her of the second piece of hair. She looked mortified and took the bill back. I believe our original total was $55 but we ended up paying $35. I appreciated the discount but it probably should've been free. It didn't make me feel better when the host came over and said "this happens every few weeks but it's weird it happened to you twice". I likely won't be back but understand why people like the food and price.

It was nice ambience. Portions were good. Shrimp on Fried green pepper is a nice try, but missed something. May be a little more tarter sauce, would be good. Seared salmon smelled too fishy, and the asparagus war too hard. The cocktail Piedmont Pirate was Ok. First it was just rum and syrup, but later they added some soda onto it. I need to try this place for one more time.

Does the covered patio have heaters?

yes they have heaters at the top of the walls around the edges and at least one standalone heater. Recommend dressing warmly if the weather is cold bc it doesn't heat up too much, but there is no wind

Hi - is there a kids' menu? Or off-menu an order of fried chicken breast and fries? Thanks.

Yes, they have things like chicken fingers, Mac n cheese, and applesauce for lunch and dinner. They also have a kids breakfast special! Enjoy!

Only street parking is available, but it wasn't too difficult to find a spot. The atmosphere: Very rustic vibe with some farmhouse-style decor. They have table, high-top, bar, and patio seating available. The food: I opted for the Chicken and Waffles with a side of cheese grits. I chose to make it hot for more spice. It's served with one whole waffle, two large pieces of fried chicken, and syrup on the side. The chicken was not seasoned as much as I hoped and wasn't as spicy as I expected, which was a bummer. The cheese grits were alright as well, but not as flavorful as I hoped. My partner ordered the Double Barrel Bowl, and he really enjoyed it. It was packed with pulled pork and was plentiful and filling. The service: Great and kind service from Mave (I believe that is her name but I'm not entirely sure). She informed us about the daily specials and was attentive throughout our visit.

When arrived looks pretty much like former restaurant less decorations. Two groups seated about eleven persons. Bar was empty. Slowly filled two more tables and three or four at the bar. About 20 persons in total. Most of the visit, only single waitress serving tables and bar as long with busing tables. Kitchen is semi open. Only one person could be send in kitchen. Two persons only seemed understaffed for near full menu service and bar. No bus person, kitchen help, runner, or dish washer seen. Menu Asian fusion for lack of better term. Ordered scallion pancakes and spicy spring rolls. Service slow.... After ordering. Pancakes are one of my favorite snacks. Order portion size was large for appetizer. Scallion pancakes should be chewy with a flakey crust, savory with an onion punch from the scallions. These were chewy with no flakiness at all. Sort of like a flour tortilla with onion in the mix. The dip was like extra salty soy sauce spiked with raw ginger, strong and almost inedible. Then about five minutes later spring rolls arrived. Piping hot then down hill. First impression,, over cooked and greasy. Did not appear to have been drained. two small puddles of oil in dish below rolls. Sort of cross between lumpia and cha gio with appeal of neither. Noodles and meat wrapped together and fried. Favors muddled and greasy. Dipping sauce not much either. As a person who has sat through many food handlers permit classes. I witnessed a no-no with the waitress. Concerning.... It appears that disjointed service front to back needs improvement. Like location and ideas but without consistent execution it will likely fail in long run. Will be back?? Not likely Never say never. If still open this time next year?? Plus next block up there is very good ramen/Filipino/Vet place.
