The salmon cakes are amazing!! I heard they were good and definitely verified this today. This restaurant is always consistent and definitely on my list of favorites. Be prepared the wait though if you come on the weekends!

French toast

This diner is really good and tasty! I ordered the French toast and the Philly. It was quite flavorful! The service wasn't the best, however they were busy. My Philly was cold when they brought it and due to delayed response, they took it off the bill because they could not recook it since the waitress said the kitchen was closed. I will attempt to try again in the future ! I'm hoping this was a one time experience and next time will be better.

Big Breakfast

I had the Moore Street "Big Breakfast" which came with 3 eggs your way, hash browns, bacon/sausage, grits and pancakes. The eggs were cooked over easy as requested and everything was delicious and met expectations for a satisfying diner breakfast. The pancakes were fluffy and perfect with syrup. Portions were large and I had leftovers to take home. The inside was cozy, with a small diner casual feel and retro decor. They were super busy on a weekend and did not take reservations (first come first serve). We had a large party of 8 and waited about 40 minutes. Service was friendly and attentive, our orders were taken quickly and food came out hot!

Hash and eggs and pancakes

Wife and I have tried several times to come here but were always faced with daunting lines. This time I met friends and we got there 30 minutes after opening, with only a short wait. Terrific breakfast. Fluffy pancakes that didn't really even need butter.... housemade hash that was truly excellent -- most hash has some funk about it, either from a can or from the way the beef was corned. This was robust without being overly strong and was primarily the meat and some shredded potatoes, no extraneous anything. Perfect. And my eggs were cooked perfectly, When I asked for hot sauce, a regular at my table intervened and suggested the house made hot sauce. This too was a welcome surprise.... Flavorful with some heat but not inappropriate for a breakfast condiment. Coffee and water were kept filled, the service was involved without being omni-present. A great breakfast experience.

Corned beef hash and biscuit and gravy with over easy eggs

This was my first time at this place. Service was excellent. It was extremely busy...you can tell it's a neighborhood fav. I liked the corned beef hash a lot. This is one of my favs and they did it well. My husband enjoyed his food a lot as well. He's been here several times. We will return.

Had a great experience at Moore Street Café! Despite being known for their pitcher mimosas and breakfast we stopped by for lunch and as always got to enjoy the old school diner vibe. I love being able to see the chefs behind the counter, our food came out quickly and was delicious! I got the chicken tenders with fries and a side of macaroni salad. My partner got a pulled pork sandwich both were hot fresh and full of flavor. This place is truly a Richmond Gem from it's drinks to its affordable prices, definitely give this place a try if you're looking for a good dive breakfast or lunch spot.

Food good, Tati our server was great and very knowledgeable about the business. The atmosphere was not noisy but very pleasant. My first time here with my friends and I know I will be back. Supporting small businesses is my goal. My first reaction going in was, it's so cute in here lol. Go check it out you won't be disappointed.

Ham and cheese mixed in eggs with side of hash browns, biscuit, and bacon

Absolutely loved this spot! I got the ham and cheese mixed into eggs with a side of hash browns, biscuit, and bacon and everything was perfect. The eggs were cooked just right, with those little square ham pieces that are honestly the best. The biscuit was incredibly buttery and soft, one of the best I've had at a diner. My boyfriend and I also shared the French toast, and it was perfectly sweet and delicious. The place itself is big with tons of seating, and it definitely gives classic diner vibes. There are so many cute little collectibles and decorations all around, it adds so much charm. Great food, great atmosphere, and great service. We'll definitely be back!

Grilled Cheese On Texas Toast-.very good with tater tots

Solid breakfast spot with nice service in an old school feel building with good food! Stopped by on a Saturday morning and had a 20 minute wait for a party of 2. Kind gentleman took our info to get us on the wait list and he was the same one who sat us. Waitress was sweet and gave us time to review the menu. Food: Great grilled cheese and tater tots! My friend enjoyed her chicken fried steak meal! Would return!

Indoor seating

Here's the good the bad and the ugly! There's a wait which is to be expected with such good ratings. The hostess was a friendly guy who made small talk, and ai immediately felt welcomed. A huge plus since it's a bit chilly was the indoor waiting area. They had shops and coffee fixings just in case you decide you need to kill time! I mentioned the coffee fixings? Well the outdoor bar is definitely a plus as well. The true wait wasn't even that long so something else good. I get to my seat though and the wait to be acknowledged was as long as my wait to be seated. Okay I am chill. I order, but the wait for my food is even longer than the wait to be seated, greeted, and order taken. Sigh I don't want to live up to my name Karen (asking for a manger). The last two things were such a turn off-- the waitress asked if I wanted my food to go because it was in a to go container. I hated that! I don't even like my drinks in a styrofoam cup- (which it's in because I ordered from the bar). The people who ordered after me got their food first. Geesh I just can't win! And I traveled an hour to this spot. The food finally arrived and it's cold!! Extremely. So taking it to go after all. The service was exceptional though. The food tastes amazing even cold. Can't wait to warm it for the true effect. Pictures included. The waitress was so kind, rhetorical hostess was very personable, the busboy was so manner-able and sweet! I will definitely go back despite all the hang ups. You win and you lose some.

You can't go wrong with a Richmond classic Moore St Cafe. A majority of the time I've visited there has been a wait but now with the addition of the waiting space and the cools stores in it, I'm even more excited to visit Moore St. The food never misses. This time I got the Good Moorening Reuben with hash browns. If you like a Reuben, you'll love this. My friends got the Breakfast Club and AM Philly. Everything was good. Service is always quick, friendly and kind feels like your neighborhood bar - but breakfast.

Eggs with sausage, hash browns, and pancakes

Had a great breakfast here on a rainy Saturday morning. We got on the list and got there around 10:00. Parking can be a bit of a challenge. We were seated and our waitress was right with us. Ordered coffee and took a couple of minutes to review menu. I got the eggs with sausage. It came with hash browns and I chose two pancakes. My wife got the corned beef hash and eggs with biscuit and gravy. Both our eggs were cooked perfectly. I loved the hash browns and pancakes. My wife enjoyed her finely ground hash. Said it was some of the best she has eaten. After the meal Nik, the manager took us through the waiting and little shopping area. Great set up, great food, and great friendly service.

Came at 8:15 on a Sunday. Still tables available but probably at 90% full by 9am. Service was fast, friendly, and food delicious. Three sections to the restaurant with the furthest back area being a newer addition.

If you're like me - and wanting to try a bit of everything - the Breakfast Combo is the way to go. The Egg Silsi is like a perfectly mild Shakshuka, and the Kinche and FirFir along with made for a wonderful infusion of flavors, textures, and savory spices that were unlike anything I have ever had for breakfast before. Everything went beautifully with the spongey goodness of the Injera. Ethiopian flavors are just so... cool. I don't know how else to describe it but this just hit different. Plus, a reliable cup of home-brewed coffee? Say less.

Coffee/tea options? Two thumbs up. Food? Outstanding. Seriously, I loved it from start to finish. I showed up on a Tuesday morning with my laptop and an empty stomach. There's lots of seating inside (with great natural light throughout, it's just such a warm, cozy space), and a few tables outside as well. I ordered the Keshir team (ginger, orange juice, and honey), which totally hit the spot. I could not resist the breakfast combo, which comes with egg silsi (scrambled eggs in tomato sauce with onion), kinche (bulgur cooked and tossed with yellow onion and clarified butter and topped with jalapenos), firfir (injera sauteed in a spicy tomato sauce), and injera. I SCRAPED the plate. Everything was delicious. Just thinking about it now, I wish there was a Buna Kurs in Baltimore, so I could eat this for breakfast once a week. One of the best breakfasts I've had this year. No joke. I love Ethiopian food, and I am so jealous that Richmond has an Ethiopian cafe. Ethiopian for breakfast?! A dream. It doesn't hurt that the service and ambiance are also great. Easy street parking to boot. A great place to work. The only thing that I'd recommend to them is that a few more outlets to charge laptops or phones would be nice - so that people can work from the cafe more easily! But otherwise, Buna Kurs is pretty much perfect in my view. Dream breakfast. Great cafe. Couldn't love it more.

From the host to the server, we really enjoyed everyone! The restaurant itself was cute! It was small and quant but we are used to that living in the city in DC and some of the best restaurants are like that! Now the drinks and food!! For the drinks we had the rosemary martini and espresso martini. The rosemary was one of my favs!! So light and delicious! The espresso was lacking and I'm an espresso martini snob! It was just so watery and was lacking flavor from the espresso! We ordered two kids pizza and a few apps. The fried green tomato's, spinach/crab dip and fried oysters which was a special! The pizza was delicious but the menu doesn't state that they sprinkle Parmesan on top. Both my kids have an allergy so they had to remake it. Once they remade it with no parm it was DELICIOUS! Def get their pizza! The biggest issue was the fried foods. The crab/spinach dip is a must try! It was good!!! But the fried green tomatoes and oysters were not good bc we can tell they haven't changed their grease in ages. They came out super dark and tasted burnt due to the grease it was cooked in. I worked in a restaurant for ages and can tell! If they had fresh grease it would have made a ton of difference! I'd love to come back and try it again but only if they have improved how they cook their fried food! If you're just looking for pizza and cocktails, this is a good recommendation!

The cucumber sandwiches were on brown bread??? The chicken salad sandwiches were bland and boring and were served on regular thick white bread. The desserts also lacked sparkle. The best were the tiny chocolate mousse tart, and the tiny rectangular fruit tart. The macrons were delicious and probably the best thing about the tea. However, the rectangular fruit tart did not have an expected glaze of apricot jam as is traditional. There were two cakes. One was chocolate, which was very fudgy and moist however, it really could have used a pinch of salt to bring its profile up to delicious. The other cake was a slice of either apple or banana??? Flavor so faint I couldn't tell. Neither of those desserts had frosting so can they really be called cake? There was a sugar cookie but I gave it to My friend so I can't speak to how it was. There was this little chocolate thing that was difficult to ascertain what it was supposed to be. I think it was supposed to represent hot chocolate with peppermint and marshmallows, but despite the peppermint and the tiny marshmallows, it was lackluster. The entire experience could have improved with printed menus with descriptions of what we had. There were two teas offered, the Jefferson and the Richmond blend. I had the Richmond blend. It was so splendid that I ordered some from their supplier. Overall, I was terribly disappointed. The beautiful venue had a slight effect on improving the overall experience.
