I actually enjoy working here on a busy day, as it's pretty quiet and the traffic tends to be pretty steady, plus it always smells good inside. How have I yleft a review here! Apothec is amazing! I've been to several events here as well as showing this spot off to visiting guests! Just walking in is a transcending experience! It's aesthetically appealing and smells wonderful. I love the teas they have here, blended with unique flavors! The lotions and potions are lovely, the soaps and skin care lines are indulgent and yes, absolutely worth the price! In addition to all of the other gifts, they have lots of artistic jewelry and accessories. Every detail of this exquisite space is methodically thoughtful and eclectic. This was a very cute shop selling cosmetic, home decor , and tea. I got the Venus latte ($9) and it was made in about 7 minutes. The jasmine tea flavor was great and wasn't overpowered by the other sweeteners. The inside cafe portion was great and they even had some teas to sample. Discovered this little gem while killing time between appointments near Libbie and grove. It's actually two shops in one offering perfumes and body care on one side and mostly tea, pastries and a little coffee on the other and some unique items that would make great gifts. Despite the Richmond water troubles they brewed up a delicious cup of Captain Cocoamint tea (with bottled water) while I browsed their many goods. The left side showcases indulgent body care products like body wash, lotion, hand wash, perfumes, facial items, and home goods like candles and room spray. The right side features a beverage bar with refreshing drinks and carytown teas. The Lavender Tonka body wash and lotion was my favorite sense! I picked up the body wash, lotion, a perfume, and a skin care item. Although the handcrafted, all-natural products come at a premium price, their unparalleled quality makes them well worth it. Everything about Apothec is enchanting. If you're allured by the facade, wait until you enter the establishment! When you walk in you're enveloped by a delightful smell. Apothec has something for every sense. Smell the perfumes and candles. Taste their delicious healing drinks. Listen to the sounds of the employees grinding herbs. Look at all the beautiful designs and products. And be touched by what you find and experience here. I love bringing friends here for drinks. My absolute favorite drinks are their hot chocolates during winter. They mix fun things like ginger and turmeric into the cocoa. They also offer kombucha, mocktails, and lemonades. The menu changes with the season and is worth a visit for each one. Both the employees and atmosphere here are extremely pleasant. If I could, I would spend hours here. I really had a wonderful experience upon my first visit. I don't know how I happened upon the shop online but I'm a tea fiend so on a quick jaunt to Richmond, I knew I had to spend time here. I stopped by with time to kill, prior to catching the train back to DC. Holly is a gem! She walked me thru the menu and offered great input regarding offerings. I decided on the Sri Lanka Chai and posted up to get some work done. They have seating available along with wifi. Perfect! There's the retail store on one side and the tea bar on the other which I found out, hasn't even been open a year. They have an AMAZING tea collection which is their own brand. And teas on tap! I've been to tea houses in London and stateside, never even heard of tea on tap! Its also a perfumery with amazing products. They offer classes. The scents that waft thru are amazing and it was easy to stay put. So warm and inviting with a fantastic playlist. Picture Sade, Joni Mitchell, Nina Simone. Holly and I talked about everything from Parenting to careers, astrology and more! I hope to return soon for an event and more shopping. What a fun and ethereal experience! Stepping into APOTHEC is like stepping into a serene, whimsical, brooding world where all the beautiful and stimulating scents collide with natural products and tantalizing beverages. Every menu item sounded incredible and the latte I ended up getting was exactly as amazing as it sounded and perfectly poured by the creator herself. It was a little frustrating that there are no prices on any of the items but as they are always being turned over as they're being created and labeled, it's understandable and the staff was extremely knowledgeable and quick to answer any product or pricing questions. APOTHEC is a wellness oasis that you just have to experience to believe! I wandered in accidentally. I happened to park in front of the shop while i was eating elsewhere. When I got back to my car, I thought I would pop in to APOTHEC to see what it was all about. Boy, was I in for a treat! The staff was lovely, it smelled like heaven, and the shop was so homey and clean. It's the place to be for anything wellness. Everything from CBD oils, custom candles, bath salts, bug repellent, sunscreen, lotion, roller balls, tea blends, etc. Come Christmastime, EVERYBODY on my list is getting something from Apothec, okay! The prices are extremely reasonable for what you get. They also have two massage rooms, events, and are building a mocktail bar! Omg, where do I begin? This place is a mini SANCTUARY for the senses! You can smell the health, relaxation, and wellness before you walk inside and you're immediately realizing "ok, this is a safe place, im finally in my mother ship". Jenny is so adorable and full of knowledge and she customized a tea that gave my fussy uterus the hug it needed, thank you doll. The owner was in the back whipping up more nurturing goodness. I spent way too much money on hand wash, insense, and candles but I don't care. In fact I went back and got more. I walked in wholefoods a few weeks ago and saw they had apothic essential oils I IMMEDIATELY purchase the tonka bean (nobody understands what that does to heal my soul. It's so good especially if you've been having a hard time and work in covert toxic environments). I also got the rose geranium which really reminds of this mothership. The products and shop are lovely (find better tea elsewhere in RVA) but I was surprised at the profound lack of knowledge among staff, such as how to operate an ordinary essential oil diffuser. Prices are astronomical here, 4 times what one would pay to purchase in-kind products elsewhere. It appears obvious that the owners love money more than people, which is unfortunate, as those who are sincerely interested in apothecary products/homeopathy typically lead from the heart. The product placement, design, staff, and cost at Apothec make clear this shop's ethos is merely performative rather than sincere. Heartbreaking. read more

My friend and I were looking for cute stores around the area and we came across apothec on yelp The lady was extremely informative with the products they have and was really friendly. She explained throughly about their products and how they make everything in-house. The candles can also be used as hand cream! Interesting, right? She said when you're burning it or when it's not you can either use the warm wax or just take a chunk out for a nice moisturizer Can't wait to go back and try out more of their products. Have come to Apothec for years to get awesome gifts....candles, scrubs, lotions etc. Have started to get massages with Terrie Spell - every few weeks since summer. LOVE! She customizes to whatever I need...therapeutic or relaxation or focusing in a specific soreness or some assisted stretching etc. She has so many tools in her toolbox and pulls them out seamlessly. Such a cool little place. The two ladies who assisted me while in the store were so warm and friendly. Most of what they carry is made in house which is awesome to see. They carry essential oils, room sprays, and body oils to name a few. The scents are delicious and there is undoubtedly something you'll find you love.
