If you're a true coffee drinker, this is the shop for you. Parousia is very minimalistic in terms of the menu and the aesthetic. There's a list of ~10 drinks and syrups to choose from so if you know what you like, you should be in and out quickly. They have a handful of food/pastries as well depending on when you arrive - they were sold out when we visited. They have a variety of seating with tables, a sofa, and a bar. I'm more of a specialty drink person so I had trouble knowing what to pick. We ended up trying an iced lavender vanilla latte and an iced matcha latte. Wow! This coffee is incredible! I stopped in this morning and tried their Bali Kintamani and I really really enjoyed it. Tasting notes are watermelon & grape and you can definitely taste both in this coffee. The balance of sweetness and acidity was ON POINT. Extremely enjoyable cup of coffee. Yes yes yes! Yes to everything! This cafe is so cute with plenty of seating but my favorite thing aside from the drinks is the customer service. I've only been here twice but both times, the baristas have been so kind, polite and radiant. They really are so nice to talk to. Anyway, I think this is a cafe that has good matcha as that's all I've gotten here. Their spring cherry blossom matcha was such a hit! Hopefully they bring that back next year. I also tried the strawberry matcha and I thought that was okay. Still better than other cafes in the area. Definitely worth trying if you are a matcha loving girlie like me! read more

Parousia coffee has been on my list of coffee shops to try in Scott's addition, but you definitely have to time it right. I tried to go once on a weekend, but the line was out the door. I was finally able to come by on a Monday afternoon, and there was no line. They have a great selection of your standard fare, as well as a bunch of fun, seasonal drinks. I tried the carrot cake latte on the recommendation of the barista, and it was delicious. It had a lovely mouthfeel and it was definitely more of a dessert latte. I'm curious to come back and try more of their other coffee options! I do wish that there were more seating available. I would love to come and work here on a weekend, but it seems like seating it's hard to come by. read more

I was able to come here recently and was so pumped to check out their brick and mortar after loving them so much at BIG market! I got the ginger spice latte and it was so good. They also gave us some hot chocolate for our boys and that was so sweet. Owner was there and he was very kind. We also got some beans to go and they were SO good when we brewed them at home. I feel like I've learned something new about my French press as well as validated about certain techniques I use. This coffee business is incredibly charming. Although I've only been to their new location twice, the people who work here/own it are kind and authentic. I love all the natural lighting in their space. I think they're under a soft open so they're still working on some furniture, but there is a good amount of seating options. Parking right out front is a bit limited due to all the construction in this part of Scott's Addition, however, you'll for sure find a spot a block away if not closer. I've seen people working on their laptops here so I can only assume they offer wifi. I've really loved ordering their sugar cookie latte. I just made some coffee with their Bali blue moon beans I bought and it's so delicious. Their website is amazing with tons of coffee education and even a podcast. I order a vanilla and cherry blossom matcha both which were delicious but if you don't like sweet drinks I would ask for half sweet. I also order their hibiscus lemonade and it was really delicious, best one I've had in a very long time! Last I got an iced cortado and the espresso was good too. Loving this new coffee joint down in Scott's addition! Checked it out with my son and grabbed a decaf hot buttered rum latte. Decaf whaa- I know but it's changed my life. Now for the drink - the decaf was sublime and the buttered rum was subtle and pleasant. My son really enjoyed his white chocolate latte also. Both were not too sweet and incredibly smooth. The prices are insanely reasonably especially during these trying times. The barista/owner? The wait time for my coffee and food was maybe 5-10 minutes. The younger generation are willing to wait, which is something my generation struggles with, as we grew up with fast food and wanting things right now. So I waited and enjoyed the atmosphere and decor.. clean and rounded lines with Grecian feel, a forest green velvet loveseat among muted blue and white walls tones with indirect lighting.
