A cute lil aesthetic coffee shop our friends brought us to! The beans they use have a unique citrus/fruity tang that I really liked. Horchata Latte - First of all, it's rare for me to find anything horchata flavored in virginia, so I was pleasantly surprised to this on their menu! Imagine a spiced cinnamon latte with a hint of a fruity tang :) I really liked it! Lemon Bar Latte - Truly tasted like a lemon bar, but may not be my cup of tea. But pretty good! Matcha Strawberry Latte - Honestly, a decent matcha! They mix their syrup into the matcha latte before serving, so you do miss the cool layered effect you'd typically see with a matcha strawberry latte. Cortado - A bit more on the milkier side! You also taste that fruity tang here too

Cute little coffee shop right in the city! We ordered the sugar cookie iced latte and the chestnut brown sugar hot latte. Both were delicious. The prices were similar to other coffee shops around the area which wasn't too bad. The people working there were also kind!! Have patience when you go in since there's only two people working. :) would definitely come back to try more seasonal flavors!

We stopped in a few weeks ago on a cold & windy day. Such a sweet little coffee shop with on street parking. Lovely staff & delicious coffee. The shop was rather busy on a Saturday afternoon, but we found seating at the little bar by the window. There were tables & a comfy sofa also. My husband enjoy a chai latte & I had my go to drink, oat milk latte.

Literally my favorite coffee shop in the city. I've never been a fan of the main-stream mermaid favorite... but among the local Coffee shops, I am amazed at how quickly Parousia stole my heart! The staff there is incredible, Super knowledgeable and eager to share their passion for delicious, intentionally sourced and curated Coffee specialties. The space itself is pretty versatile, great for coworking, networking, or devouring a good book while you sip. I'm a traditional café latte, no syrup, no sugar girlie... and my latte has never tasted better. I can actually taste the fruity, palate-striking notes of the coffee as I'm sipping! Be mindful of parking during the construction, and drive slowly because Richmond potholes will take you out! I'm a huge fan of the blue cup & the music vibe in there - to the likes of Bomba, Salsa, Motown, & Kruangban!

I was able to come here recently and was so pumped to check out their brick and mortar after loving them so much at BIG market! I got the ginger spice latte and it was so good. They also gave us some hot chocolate for our boys and that was so sweet. Owner was there and he was very kind. We also got some beans to go and they were SO good when we brewed them at home. Can't wait to see them flourish as a new coffee shop in the area.

I have tried Parousia at the RVA Big Market twice now. They have great coffee and amazing service! Something cool about them is that they don't put too much ice in the coffee! I got the Tangerine Cream latte and it did not disappoint! I would highly recommend this summer special! I'm looking forward to trying their regular storefront in the future.

My quest to try coffee shops around Richmond took me here today. It's a cozy cafe with challenging parking due to the construction on the street. One of the owners helped me decide on a sugar cookie latte, which was tasty, but as I got it with almond milk, the almond flavor was a bit overpowering. He was super nice to add more syrup which helped. I typically get low fat or skim milk (which they currently don't offer), so I'm thinking next time I'll try oak milk. You can tell they really take pride in their product, which is why I'll definitely stop back in (challenging parking and all) when I'm in the area again.

I'm writing this review right after watching one of their YouTube videos on coffee and having made a pot. I feel like I've learned something new about my French press as well as validated about certain techniques I use. This coffee business is incredibly charming. Although I've only been to their new location twice, the people who work here/own it are kind and authentic. I love all the natural lighting in their space. I think they're under a soft open so they're still working on some furniture, but there is a good amount of seating options. Parking right out front is a bit limited due to all the construction in this part of Scott's Addition, however, you'll for sure find a spot a block away if not closer. I've seen people working on their laptops here so I can only assume they offer wifi. I've really loved ordering their sugar cookie latte. I just made some coffee with their Bali blue moon beans I bought and it's so delicious. Their website is amazing with tons of coffee education and even a podcast. These people seem extremely passionate and knowledgeable about coffee and I love that. I highly recommend visiting their shop or at a farmer's market.

We ventured into Scott's Addition this afternoon to try Parousia Coffee. Cozy, chill spot with great coffee and friendly staff. I had an oat milk latte that was smooth, creamy, and perfectly balanced. We sat at the window bar, which was a relaxing place to sip and people-watch. Lovely space and definitely worth a stop. Street parking.

Richmond has no shortage of coffee shops, but in my opinion, Parousia stands apart for its exceptional quality and genuine love for coffee. The care and precision put into every cup--from the hand-grinding of beans to the meticulously executed V60 pour-over--reflect an almost obsessive passion that few, if any, other local cafés can match. Jimmy, one of the owners, is constantly pushing boundaries, experimenting with different beans and roast temperatures to achieve the perfect balance. That dedication isn't limited to black coffee either--their strawberry matcha latte is one of the best we've ever had, even surpassing the matcha lattes we enjoyed in Japan with matcha sourced from Japan. The ambiance is equally impressive, with an intimate coffee bar and stylish table seating that make Parousia a truly standout spot. 10/10 for service, ambiance, and coffee

Loving this new coffee joint down in Scott's addition! Checked it out with my son and grabbed a decaf hot buttered rum latte. Decaf whaa- I know but it's changed my life. Now for the drink - the decaf was sublime and the buttered rum was subtle and pleasant. My son really enjoyed his white chocolate latte also. Both were not too sweet and incredibly smooth. The prices are insanely reasonably especially during these trying times. The barista/owner? Jimmy was incredibly friendly and helpful and the space is an open airy vibe with a gorgeous accent color and cool seating options. Love the couch! Parking can be challenging unless you get lucky but I will definitely be back for some more smooth Java.

Seeing these guys get their brick and mortar spot is so great. They deserve it - every cup is made with some heart and soul, and tastes delicious. The owners behind the counter are so friendly and approachable - took time to ask me about my day and my job, etc. The aesthetic is perfect - beautiful interior with great furniture that compliments the space well. I'm going to be a frequent flyer here, I can tell you that!

Finally one of the more legendary coffee trucks in Richmond has their own cafe in Scotts Addition! A lovely airy space complete with a community table and couch. The main draw is of course their house roasted coffee, one of the better brews in town and available in whole beans. Friendly staff and they're always open to questions and suggestions, plenty of milk alternatives and house made syrups. It's a great addition, not only to Scott's Addition, but to the whole thriving RVA coffee scene! Come see what's brewing at Parousia, you won't regret it.

Calming spot to grab a treat, get some work done/journal, or catch up with friends in an aesthetic and modern cafe. Ordered the paradise tea with mango and avocado. We were greeted by pleasant staff at checkout and our orders placed in a parchment type bag for take out. They also have seating inside. The pastries were just sweet enough without being overly sweet, which I like. The pistachio cream was a perfect compliment to the pecan encrusted pastry. The almond twist was both flaky and crunchy with the sliced almonds on top, and the strawberry shortcake had layers of real strawberries, whipped topping and yellow cake that was moist. All were fresh. All in all, a great place to stop by for a morning pastry treat and tea/coffee while in the area,

While we all ordered one after the other, our food didn't come out that way. Most of the food came out in about 25-30 minutes. The chicken was cooked perfectly. Juicy! Two people got tenders and three of us got sandwiches. The OG sandwich was very good, just messy! I ended up using a fork and knife bc it got too messy. The Mac and cheese was made with pimento cheese and was very good. My friend who got the fried green tomatoes said they were delicious and filling. Lots of goodies on top. We walked in to find the staff bustling, cooking, and prepping orders, and the smell of some delicious fried chicken in the air. I saw the kiosks and was not too thrilled with the Wawa experience, but we gave it a shot anyway, since fried chicken is one of our favorites. The process was simple and allowed us to add or remove anything we could want, so that was nice. While walking to find a seat, we saw a person panhandling in the dining area, but the staff promptly removed him from the premises. I ordered us the Pimento Cheese Balls for an appetizer, and I chose the Fried Chicken and French Toast as my entree because I always try the "chicken and waffles" at every establishment that offers it. My partner ordered the OG Chicken Sandwich without tomato, and it came with crinkle-cut fries. It was about $40. The chef proclaimed our order was ready in quick succession, maybe three orders behind the guests before us. We waited about ten minutes, maybe fifteen at most. We picked up the orders from the counter, and there was a mix-up on the syrup, but the chef promptly rectified the situation. He was a no-nonsense kind of guy; straight to the point. He seemed firm, yet kind. It was clear the day had been a busy one; he even told us as much, which was great to hear (busy = fantastic food). The French toast squares looked like rye or pumpernickel, and they emitted a sweet aroma, a delightful hit of cinnamon and brown sugar. I drizzled the caramel syrup on my chicken and toast, sliced a piece, and paired a bite of chicken with the toast. I closed my eyes to savor the flavors: the toast was crunchy and almost gooey (yet, not overly so), the chicken was crunchy, the sweet cinnamon-y flavors from the toast, the caramel from the syrup, and the tender, moist chicken were a match made in culinary art. I cannot sufficiently describe the French toast in a way that would do it justice; it was crunchy and semi-gooey, and all scrumptious. I can only say it was the single best French toast that I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. Next, I tried the fried pimento cheese balls. Oh my. If you like mozzarella sticks, try these. I adored them: elevated fried cheese, for real. My partner enjoyed her sandwich as well; she ate everything except some of her fries. I saved half of my chicken and toast for today because I am like a treasure golem when it comes to delicious leftovers. I am going to air-fry the chicken and skillet-heat the toast back to its original goodness. I told the cooks that that was the best French toast that I have ever had, and I mean it. Do yourself a favor and try it if you're into French toast. This one is the GOAT. Side note: I spoke with the head chef outside, and he is from another branch (possibly Henrico?) to whip this location back into shape. Two words: "Nailed it."
