My husband and I got the chance to finally check out this restaurant as one of our dates to start the day with. We have been driving past this place for who knows how long. It is pretty close to the Asian market, Lotte. Plenty of seats to choose from. Staffs were super friendly and made sure that we were taken care of. The menu provides a lot of options and I can already tell that we'll be coming back here to try their lunch. We came here for a brunch date instead of a later date. I got their Mocha coffee and my husband got their Latte coffee. BOTH were delicious! I don't remember the order that we hand (since 2 months have passed) but I know the food came out pretty quick and def had their presentation of the dish. The food was delicious and we both enjoyed our dishes very much. Parking is pretty tight there but worth it. You won't regret trying this place! read more

Cafe y Sabor - Cafe mocha (Halloween ghost) and cafe latte (heart) - Colombian Near Me - Richmond, Virginia

We came to Cafe y Sabor with friends looking for an experience we don't have everyday, and we weren't disappointed. While the location and interior is unassuming, we were met with friendly service from staff who wanted to make sure we had the best experience possible. They walked us through the menu, answered questions, and provided recommendations that were spot on. I ended up getting a mocha and the personal sized Picada. The dish consisted of multiple cuts of meat including steak, pork belly, and chicken. Everything was seasoned well and utterly delicious. The price was just around $22 - and was absolutely worth it given the three meals I was able to make out of it. The coffee ordered was nothing to write home about, but it did the job. When you visit be sure to check out the bakery section. Our waitress treated us with some fresh baked goods which were lovely so don't miss out. read more

Cafe' Sabor is one of my favorite cafe's. They have the freshest food. My go quick snack is the chicharonnes, tostones, and guacamole. I also love their steak dishes and cheese breads. They also have the most amazing Colombian coffee. This is a very vibrant and casual space. The employees are very helpful and friendly despite the language barrier. read more

This was a delightful surprise while on a business trip to Richmond in early March 2025. It's an unassuming spot that is easy to miss from the highway. But the location is very convenient to folks staying at hotels on or near Glenside Drive (about a 5 minute drive away). Lots of pluses! Amazing cappuccinos with 100% Columbian coffee? Check. Friendly staff that go out of their way to help you choose a pastry? Check. A clean restaurant with pleasant decor? Check. A free sample of "Pan de Bobos" for first-time visitors? Check. During this "grab-n-go" stop, I did not have time to sample their regular dishes, but if the superb Colombian coffee is any indication of the quality of their desserts or main entrees, I will definitely come back. Overall, this place is worth a stop if you enjoy Columbian coffee! read more

Food is great but the language barrier is real. There was easily 7-8 people working and no one knew English. I asked for something 4 times and they kept getting it wrong and then overcharged me for the food. I was soo tired of going back and forth I didn't even push for my refund. If you don't know Spanish I'd steer clear or pack your patience. I wouldn't recommend... too much of a headache communicating. read more

Picked up some pastries and coffee. Delicious and fast. They were very helpful and answered all the questions I had.

Long wait for drier than leather arepas. Like cardboard has probably a better taste. U can tell they dont care about what they put on the plate or how they do it. Also the waiter talk on the thing on their ear while talking to you so its confusing to try to understand him. We had 5 plates they all had the same cardboard arepa same dried cheese and same type of dried steak. Wemt on a sunday for the calfo de costilla and they only had tripe soup read more

I was out to the West End and decided to make my first visit to the new Cafe y Sabor, the sister restaurant to the one located on Hull Street. Unlike its sister, this location is a stand-alone. Like the first location, it was near capacity at noon on a Saturday. Also like the first, the guests were all or nearly all Latin. What really surprised me was the number of staff that I got to know on Hull St. who were now positioned at this location. What this means to the guest is that they are graced with an experienced staff, that are incredibly welcoming to anyone who enters the establishment. I ordered to-go my traditional Saturday order, which consists simply of two Arepas de Choclo (a round, thick roll made from corn meal), with a slice of a hard white cheese in the middle, along with a parcha (passion fruit juice. The two arepas were cooked baked longer than I'm used to, but in the end, it didn't impact the taste, which is slightly sweet, complemented by the cheese, which adds a little tartness to the overall taste. Would I come here again? I'm at the Hull St. location nearly every weekend. Now that they have this location, I won't have to detour on my road home, if I happen to be near this location. In the end, there a small number of other restaurants that I like in Richmond, but there is only one that I love and it is Cafe y Sabor. Why? Because the food is really good and the staff are incredible! read more

I order over a hundred dollars here monthly and I ordered online and selected included options. When I got to the restaurant they said that even though the website said it was included I needed to pay extra to collect the order. I had already paid the total from the order online and this order was 108.00. They told me to get the order I needed to pay an extra $12. This will be the last time I visit this misleading restaurant. It's a shame because I come here every three days but this is unacceptable. read more

I loved this place! The people behind the counter, and our waiter, went out of their way to welcome us and tell us a little about what makes Colombian food unique among Latin food. The food was delicious, plentiful, and came out quickly. We were on a bit of a time budget, so they helped us to pack up our leftovers and leave on time. Loved it! read more

The people are very helpful if you don't understand the menu. The price to portion is great and you will not leave hungry. This place transports me back to my time I spent in South Florida/Miami. Cafe y Sabor - Tostones, guacamole, and chicharrones - Colombian Near Me - Richmond, Virginia

Love this place! The food is simple, but fresh, seasoned, and delicious. The chicharrones in particular are crispy, fatty greatness. The coffee and pastries are bomb. If I may, get the cappuccino with vanilla syrup, you'll thank me! And before you leave, order some bunuelos, pandebonos, and empanadas to go! read more

One of the best meals I've ever had. The beef soup was a revelation, the flavors genuine. I'll be back to keep working through the menu!

1st time here as I just moved to the area. As a first timer, they offered a serving of their cheese bread which was soo good- i would buy those. Staff was friendly and my food didnt take long. My meal was the skirt steak with shrimp, side of cabbage and beans. The steak and shrimp were seasoned to literal perfection and i was pleased that the skirt steak was cooked to my specifications of medium well- most places just cook up the skirt well done since its thin. The cabbage was acidic with cilantro.. almost like a Salvadoran curtido- I'm definitely getting that again. Beans were standard. I will definitely put this place on heavy rotation to try more of the menu and get that steak again! read more

Love the food and the people. The coffee is always fresh and they have their own roaster on-site. Definitely coming back!

This was my first time trying Colombian food, and also my first visit to this restaurant. A friend invited me to lunch, and from the moment I walked in, I had a feeling it would check all the boxes--and it absolutely did. There was a diverse mix of patrons, but seeing so many Latino guests reassured me right away that the food would be authentic and delicious. The ambiance was lively and welcoming, with brightly colored walls and upbeat music that set a cheerful tone. Despite being busy, the space felt intimate--perfect for conversation and connection. The owners are Christian, and their motto says it all: "A little coffee and a whole lot of Jesus." Their coffee truly stood out as some of the best I've had. The beans are roasted and ground on site, and you can taste the freshness in every sip. While most of the servers primarily speak Spanish, my Spanish-speaking friend helped order for me, and the service was warm and attentive. As a special touch, they offer a complimentary serving of Pan de Bono to first-time guests. Let me tell you--wow. It was soft, cheesy, and unforgettable. The cornbread was another standout, incredibly moist and flavorful. I highly recommend this spot and definitely plan to return--next time, I'll be bringing another friend to share the experience! read more

My secret spot for coffee. I guess not so secret anymore. The coffee is freshly roasted and very fragrant. It has that Columbian "je ne sais quoi" - miles above the typical "croissant & coffee" houses. Sorry no shade to other coffee joints but srsly it's really good. Ive never been to Columbia but I swear after a sip of their coffee, I can hear Columbian music in my head. My favorite dish here is the liver, chitterlings and steak dish. The pastries are well made and the savory empanadas are delicioso and super filling. The workers are kind, friendly, welcoming and patient. (Unlike other places where you're just another cow in line!) So happy this place exists in Richmond. Bravo Cafe y Sabor! read more

I'm visiting again from West Palm Beach where coffee houses are a dime a dozen but nothing like this. "Café & Sabor is a true gem! In Henrico ,Virginia this Colombian coffee house offers an incredible experience from start to finish. The freshly ground coffee, roasted in-house, is made to perfection, and the food is just as amazing--flavorful, authentic, and beautifully presented. The customer service is top-notch; they go above and beyond to make you feel welcomed and cared for. The atmosphere is vibrant, with the soft rhythm of Spanish salsa music in the background, adding the perfect touch to your visit. If you're looking for a coffee experience that stands out, Café & Sabor is the place to be!" read more
