This our go-to for coffee, cappuccinos, Frappuccinos, and lattes! Columbian food at its finest with fabulous service! We have frequented this location multiple times now and each visit is on point. The ambiance is family oriented and moderately loud. Super friendly staff!

Was back home in Richmond visiting family and my wife found Cafe & Sabor. I'm so happy she did, it was authentic and delicious with great service. The menu is on the bigger side but I don't think you can go wrong with what you order. We had fresh lime juices with our meals. I had a pork, steak, rice beans and plantains and my wife had something similar but with chicken. The pork was so tender and flavorful. The sides when ate with the meat made for a great bite. Oppose to eating my dessert I got some fresh pressed coffee in the form of a cafe mocha and that made for the perfect ending to a phenomenal meal. If you're visiting or if you live there I suggest you go. The ambiance can be for a good lunch date or for a bigger group outing you can't go wrong. Rather you're visiting or live in town if you want authentic Colombian food this is where you should go. I can't wait to go back home and make another visit or two while I'm there. 10/10

Scrambled eggs with corn cake sausage and cheese!! Sooo good!

I actually have passed by Cafe & Sabor both on the west end and hull street locations, and have always been intrigued. I stopped in at the hull street location for coffee and breakfast as I was so excited to finally try it out! The staff was soooo nice and extremely helpful even put up with my poor attempt at speaking Spanish(I try to practice as often as I can ). Up until then I had been stalking the menu and everything looked mouthwatering delicious but I decided to settle on the scrambled eggs, sausage, corn cake and cheese aka huevos revueltos con chorizo y arepo! I also got a vanilla latte, I was beyond satisfied, everything was flavored so well and the combination of corn cake and cheese, was delicious, I mean the eggs were amazing!!! I have to figure out how to make this at home because otherwise I would be here every morning!! Of course I love my traditional American breakfast but I honestly can eat breakfast here everyday! Please treat yourself to Cafe &Sabor, the coffee was amazing as well, and it was all very reasonably priced. You definitely get a good amount of food, I took my food to go but the inside of the restaurant had great ambiance, the decor was very wholesome I can see the cultural Colombian influence. If you're like me and your palate is cross cultural please try out Cafe & Sabor, you won't be disappointed!

Pan de bono was incredible! I walked in and being my first time I was a little overwhelmed, but was well taken care of. They roast the coffee fresh in the building. The space was busy in the morning, lots of happy customers. I got the palito guayaba y queso, a puff pastry with guava and cheese. It was different and yummy!

We were recommended this place and I'm glad we came. This place is amazing. So many choice on the menu. Lots of drink options as well. Fresh roasted coffee available. Service was super amazing. Multiple servers checking on us constantly. The atmosphere was perfect. No complaints. A new favorite in downtown Richmond Va.

Cafe & sabor is a great place for authentic Colombian comfort food. I ordered the bandeja paida and it's enough for breakfast, lunch and dinner! Incredibly tasty and transferred me right back to Bogota. The waitress was super sweet. Gave recommendations and was very attentive. The place was full when I arrived, rush lunch hour. Felt very lively and the crowd was a mix between tables with families and couples/groups of friends. No fancy decor or tableware, but it's a place you go for the food! Can't wait to go back!

This is a place for those who are interested in authentic Colombian. I didn't check to see what was the most popular but relied on the server for her info. She listed a few items but the first item was Tilapia. Then I had a choice of plantains so I looked at the photo and said like this. Then a choice of Yucca so I chose fried. I could tell from my nose that fried food was their favorite food as it was mine as well. Hubby chose Lingua aka tongue. Oh my. Well, if you're going to get it, here's the place. We started off with Colombian empanadas-one beef and one chicken. Dough was not flaky and filling needed to be seasoned more. We were first timers here so we each got a cheesy biscuit which was an empty fried piece of dough. Maybe a bit of cheese had whispered over it. The environment was loud and the floor was such that if you dropped something you would just let it go. . . until a server came around to pick it up. Not sure if we will be back but portions were huge. My fish was the most popular. I ate it for supper as I had basically a lot left. Hubby didn't have any Lingua left. 2 and 1/2 stars rounded up to 3

Café con leche (mediano, but it's huge!)

Second visit a day later for lunch! OMG AGUAS FRESCAS, I have been missing guanabana (soursop) for so long and I didn't realize on my first visit that it was here and it is awesome. I wish I would have gotten a Maracuyá as well. My food was very good and my guanabana brought back memories.

I stumbled upon this place out of pure luck and only wish I lived closer. Some of- if not, the most authentic Colombian food in Virginia. The staff had the most amigable attitudes, it felt like I was back in Colombia. It's cozy in there too, really gives off the vibes that the NY/NJ Col. restaurants do (but way cleaner). They even have pandebonos, arepas, etc. that I bought to take home.

Too expensive not much ambiance, but I can't eat ambiance. The empanadas were not "Colombian " from what I experienced in Colombia.

Di Gennaro was about 10 minutes from me and the photos looked great so I decided to try. I will definitely be returning! The customer service was great and the food tasted amazing. I also noticed that we didn't receive any sauces (ie, chimichurri) for the empanadas. Not sure if I caught them off-guard or something! The pastries themselves tasted fresh and not too sweet, and I feel like the best time to go is when they're open first thing in the morning; I also feel that their items do sell out quickly. I…read moreattempted to visit a few weeks ago for dinner to try their Rotisserie chicken but unfortunately they were sold out so I recently returned again on a Friday during lunch for another attempt. When I entered I was greeted right away and was given a menu and I let them know I would like to place an order to go.  Service was great and the wait staff was very friendly and took my order immediately.  The dining room was very spacious with plenty of tables and they had bar seating available. While I waited for my food I decided to walk over to the bakery that was attached to the restaurant. The bakery sells a bunch of different Colombian/Spanish baked goods, snacks and frozen items. They also had a section setup similar to a gift shop that had purses, hats, clothing and souvenirs that you would mostly find if you were in Columbia which I found to be a nice and unique addition.  I ordered the half rotisserie chicken with coconut rice, fried cassava, and sugar cane juice with lime To-go. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the quality of my meal. My chicken lacked flavor and tasted as though it had been reheated rather than freshly prepared. The wing was so dry and dehydrated that it was inedible; only the leg and thigh were moist. Additionally, the coconut rice was significantly undercooked and excessively sweet, to the point that I could not eat it. The fried cassava was served in very large pieces that remained undercooked. The Sugar cane juice was a dark brown color and had a sour taste, suggesting it was not fresh.  Fresh sugarcane juice should be a greenish- yellow color and only turns brown after it oxidizes which changes the quality and is not what I expected.  I have heard great things about this restaurant and hope my experience is not the norm. While I am interested in other menu items, I am currently hesitant about when I might return.
