Went on a Saturday Morning. Busy little spot, but not a long wait at all. Their coffee is really good, got an iced caramel coffee. The food is alright. Was back home in Richmond visiting family and my wife found Cafe & Sabor. I'm so happy she did, it was authentic and delicious with great service. The menu is on the bigger side but I don't think you can go wrong with what you order. We had fresh lime juices with our meals. I had a pork, steak, rice beans and plantains and my wife had something similar but with chicken. The pork was so tender and flavorful. The sides when ate with the meat made for a great bite. Oppose to eating my dessert I got some fresh pressed coffee in the form of a cafe mocha and that made for the perfect ending to a phenomenal meal. If you're visiting or if you live there I suggest you go. The ambiance can be for a good lunch date or for a bigger group outing you can't go wrong. I actually have passed by Cafe & Sabor both on the west end and hull street locations, and have always been intrigued. I stopped in at the hull street location for coffee and breakfast as I was so excited to finally try it out! The staff was soooo nice and extremely helpful even put up with my poor attempt at speaking Spanish(I try to practice as often as I can ). Up until then I had been stalking the menu and everything looked mouthwatering delicious but I decided to settle on the scrambled eggs, sausage, corn cake and cheese aka huevos revueltos con chorizo y arepo! I also got a vanilla latte, I was beyond satisfied, everything was flavored so well and the combination of corn cake and cheese, was delicious, I mean the eggs were amazing!!! I have to figure out how to make this at home because otherwise I would be here every morning!! Of course I love my traditional American breakfast but I honestly can eat breakfast here everyday! I understand you have to adjust prices because inflation but you can't downsize in portions at the same you increase prices. Stopped in for a smoothie while in Richmond for a swim meet. We were greeted immediately and offered a free pastry since it was our first time in. Even though we weren't having a meal and just getting a quick smoothie, they gave us two, one for my daughter and one for myself. The smoothie was yummy and the pastry was very good as well. It was a savory Columbine pastry that I can't remember the name of. The restaurant was very full and there were many people waiting for take-out, but they were quick to take care of people. Incredibly tasty and transferred me right back to Bogota. The waitress was super sweet. Gave recommendations and was very attentive. The place was full when I arrived, rush lunch hour. I was brought here for breakfast by a friend while heading back to Norfolk, VA & I will always stop here for breakfast on the way home moving forward. My grandmother is Colombian and sometime I just miss the taste of her kitchen and crave some authentic Colombian food. We are in the RVA area for a soccer tournament and I saw this place on Yelp, and just had to try it. I'm so glad I did! The staff was warm and welcoming as soon as we walked through the door. We were greeted with smiles, great music, and a free pastry to celebrate our first visit. Their menu is english friendly and full of options (including a kid-friendly section)... I had a hard time choosing but, ultimately, I went with a pollo empanada and the bandeja paisa, and it was fantastic! I completed my meal with the Colombian hot chocolate - definitely recommend. The avocado on my companion's plate was beautiful -perfect in appearance and texture. Both the salad and my Pechuga Asada had generous portions of chicken breast. The beans with my Pechuga Asada were amazing: delicately seasoned, tender but not mushy. I loved the salad that accompanied my dish. I can best liken it to a slaw with cilantro and the perfect amount of tartness (note: not a mayo based coke slaw). The corn cake had a grate texture but was a bit bland to my taste. More of a 4.5 starred review. I went with a group of friend for lunch on Sunday and it was pretty busy. There is a bakery section in the front and the seating in the dining area. I am surprised they were able to seat the 9 of us after a little wait. I was excited to try this place as the food passed by. I got a cafe con leche, bandeja paisa, beef empanada and a side of fried yucca. They also brought out some complimentary cheese bread for the table. The coffee was pretty decent. The empanada was really good, I was tempted to order the chicken one too. Luckily I didn't since the bandeja paisa portion was huge, both my wife and I shared it and we still were not able to finish it. The yucca was what really surprised me as it was really fluffy. We were stuffed as the portion here are on the larger side! If I did had to nitpick, the prices on the menu and what was charged was completely different. I am not sure if the menus were not updated, prices difference ranged from a couple of cents to a dollar or so. While it is still a good value, I feel that took me by a little surprise. Since it was busy, we decided to just leave it. Either way I still feel this place is still worth a stop. read more

Great find on the way to work. None of the new restaurant issues. Service was spot on. I had migas, which I love but these were different than what I was used to in AZ.
