This small cafe is a great place for some delicious Cuban fare. It's a fun, colorful decor. My Cuban Sandwich was excellent! We all enjoyed our lunch.

Had a really flavorful meal here with a friend this week. So many options it was hard to choose! We both loved the food that we ordered and the Wheat staff was very friendly. Overall great experience. I'm looking forward to going back!

I've been putting off this place for over a year now and I have nothing to say besides I'm sorry & I regret every day I wasted avoiding it. Oh. My. god. This was SO SO good. Super hot, crispy, flavorful sandwich paired with cozy seating and great service ... what else could you want ?? Absolute gem hidden in the Fan. Make your way here and you will not regret it

This was so yummy! They also have a constant breakfast menu so I was able to get breakfast at 3pm. The ambiance is so cute and you can see all sorts of cultural trinkets. The service was a bit slow and we had delayed check ins but they did seem perhaps understaffed. Otherwise great spot I'd likely return.

many people recommended this restaurant and although i loved the vibe of the restaurant, the food itself was kind of... just ok. the place is covered in fun decor to look at. the staff was super friendly and kind as well. we were seated very quickly. maybe my expectations weren't correct, but i expected a cuban restaurant to have better than a 'meh' cuban sandwich... the texture was good and it had the right ingredients but something was lacking.

Came here for lunch (breakfast time 9am) because I wanted to try something different. I have been seeing Kuba Kuba as a recommended spot for a while, so I didn't hesitate when i saw they were open & a short walking distance from work! I came in & was requested to sit anywhere I like. The waiter(who I'm assuming is the owner) was very nice and welcoming. It was pretty busy for an opening shift and he was very busy but still managed to have a menu , my water , and check on me. I ordered a lemonade with the salmon and spinach tortilla. Upon the meal arriving i got my lemonade which was so good(lemonade with spritzer). The tortilla was actually an omelette and low key pissed me off because i would've ordered something else. They have a hefty menu and even with large portion I would've suggested an entree instead of the breakfast menu. I am not a fan of omelettes at all, it had a smokey taste to the salmon with no flavor but the veggies made up for the taste. It was a lot going on within this meal and I would not get it again. I do want to go back but for an entree and a drink. The service was what stole the spot. Such a nice guy, i can tell by the atmosphere of the customers and how many were regulars. Bare with this review as I will be back for another review on the entree. Parking is not so good, the interior decor was classic & the murals were beautiful

Ordered the Kubanaso (Cuban plus Spanish chorizo) to go and it was absolutely amazing! It came with slow roasted pork, ham, Swiss cheese, pickles and chorizo added to a classic Cuban sandwich. It was garnished with chopped onions, tomatoes and peppers and came with a spicy specialty sauce. It looked wonderful and was hands-down delicious!

The best vibes, service was amazing, and food was good & hearty. Definitely did not leave hungry. This place has been around forever for a reason!

Comically bad and uninspired food. This restaurant gives the energy of somewhere that once had heart, once had someone who cared about making it a good place, and now is an unclean shell of itself. The service was sluggish and non-communicative. We waited for a long time for food (they blamed an influx of delivery orders--the restaurant wasn't crowded), so long that we considered leaving. The restaurant is dirty and dated. The visible thick layers of dust near our table were unnerving. I was excited to see the vegan/vegetarian options. Unfortunately, the paella was really bad. The serving was massive. Not one vegetable was fresh (except the avocado, which was underripe). The spinach was frozen, the tomatoes were canned.

Visiting Richmond for first time and my niece brought us here for lunch. Cute, small but cozy restaurant in the Fan. They also have a patio near the entrance when the weather permits. Seating was quick and server came over shortly after. We ordered the pork lunch plate and a Cuban sandwich. The portions were large leaving half sandwich for leftovers and a large portion of pork with rice and black beans. I had the pork. It was flavorful, delicious, and very tender. I tried the mango habanero sauce which I liked with its spicy kick. The fried plantain was tasty. Cornbread was slightly dry but mixed in with pork it was good. My niece enjoyed her sandwich. Also loved their fresh squeezed limeade. I'd love to return when back in town. Parking was a bit far but didn't mind the walk. Will look for Cuban food in my hometown. 4.5 stars overall.

Pretty good neighborhood spot for brunch! The breakfast entree was good and came with a side of cornbread, but the cornbread was ice cold, which was odd. The cafe con leche had a great flavor even without any extra sugar, and I think I enjoyed that more than my meal. The service is just okay - the staff was very dry but I know they were busy and just trying to get things done quickly. I want to come back and try the lunch/dinner meals.

I finally checked out Kuba Kuba for the first time on Monday with a friend. The interior is so cozy and lived in with slightly grunge, artsy vibes. We were directed to select any two-top that was open. Shortly after, menus were delivered. My friend ordered a cafe con leche, and at first I only ordered a limeade, but after seeing her drink, I couldn't resist and risked the potential of being up late since it was mid-afternoon during our visit. Fortunately, it didn't keep me up, and that coffee was so stinking good! The limeade was nice and refreshing also. For food, I ordered the spinach and ricotta empandillas, as well as the morning quesadilla. While both were good, the quesadilla was the standout for me. The flavors all worked together really well. The leftovers also warmed up well in the air fryer. I didn't have room for dessert, and I was worried about the 1-hour parking situation, but I would definitely return to try more of their menu in the future.

This review is long overdue.. partly because I wanted to keep this place a hidden gem (just kidding…read more). It remains one of my all-time favorite Dominican restaurants and never disappoints. Starting with the location, the restaurant is in a small plaza, so there's usually plenty of parking available, which is always a plus. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by the staff, and the interior instantly makes you feel like you're on a tropical vacation. I haven't been to the DR yet, but the vibes are definitely there. My go-to drink is the Morir Soñando--highly recommend it but it's sweet by nature so be careful. Over multiple visits, I've tried a variety of drinks, appetizers, and entrées, and everything has been consistently great. The tostones and empanadas always come out warm and fresh never dry, just perfect. The beef and chicken empanadas are my favorites; both are so flavorful. My boyfriend and I also love the mangú, and the fried cheese is SO good. Honestly, everything on that plate hits. Overall, the food is amazing, the staff is polite and reasonably quick, and I've never had a bad experience here. I seriously can't wait until the next time I'm in town to visit again.

I remember we enjoyed brunch, but I don't think there was anything that really blew us away. I do remember we were seated near the door and it was freezing! That unfortunately hasn't changed too much. I think it's hard to go here when the temperatures are cold. This time It was slightly better because we were seated to the right of the door if you're facing the restaurant near a window. Great view for people watching and nice little spot but the supposed heater that was next to our table didn't add too much heat. I couldn't take my coat off until we were eating our main courses but my husband seemed fine with it. The atmosphere is a modern botanical vibe and I think it plays more to its stellar drink lineup and tapas than it does a traditional three course meal. My Yelp buddy Lena was spot on about the drinks. My husband ordered a dance macabre (an Earl Grey infused scotch with pink peppercorn infused soju, Grand Marnier lavender, and orange & lemon bitters) and since I am more of a bourbon fan, I just ordered a Malbec but when I tasted my husband's DM I thought it was so good I had to order one for myself and gave my wine to someone else. I wasn't planning on having hard liquor that night, but it was so amazing. I really wanna go back another time just to have the drink. If you're not an Earl Gray fan though maybe u might want to pass, but my husband's not a tea person ordinarily and he couldn't stop raving, so it might be worth a shot The Tapas we ordered was very enjoyable: . Eggroll birria Whipped feta Fried zucchini Our mains were miss and hit. Our friends enjoyed the honey badger but my husband and I thought the solita double burger was not very good. Completely unseasoned so tasted like boring ground beef and overdone. The tomato jam and the aoli was only thing saving it and it needed way more of it. I got the grain bowl which was fine but nothing special. Would come back for drinks and tapas. The service on this night was great though. Small lag between drinks and apps but we didn't mind because we were killing time before VCU bball game. If you don't imbibe any spirits, it can be a reasonable tab as well.

Being of Cuban descent, I frequently head to this site for Goya products, including rice, black beans, plantains, Adobo spices, coffee, Maria cookies, fresh fruits and veggies, tomato items, empanada shells and my "never be without" Mojo Criollo Goya marinade. This marinade truly is the spice of life and I use it in many of my recipes! You will also find baked goods, household items, and sundries at this store. There's a deli/butcher in the back and a frozen food section. There's also a small restaurant and pupuseria serving Latin fare, from Cuban sandwiches to tacos to tostones to tamales to yucca to soups/sides and more. They serve Cuban coffee, horchata, Latin sodas, and other drinks and some tempting desserts, like flan and tres leches cake. For an inexpensive, quick bite in a casual, no nonsense eatery with lots of festive atmosphere, you've gotta try Cielito Lindo, it really is "a slice of heaven".
