Easily YES. The space itself is perfect for date night, family dinner after church, girls/guys night, you name it! I love that there's always tropical, salsa, or some Caribbean museum going in the background The patacones are amazing. I highly recommend: La vegana ~ vegan patacón (plantain-style sándwich) El Tumbao ~ shredded beef patacón I love that they use lots of flavor from really fresh ingredients - cotija, pickled onions, and perfectly cooked plantains. The only thing I'd change is I'd add in some avocado - to literally everything - even though I know that'll increase the cost. The price point is a little high, but these patacones are BIG and FILLING!!! The service is always great here. The staff is super friendly, and I love their patience when my son (who I'm teaching Spanish) wants to order in Spanish.

I decided to try this place for lunch. First thing is there is plenty of parking spaces. They have outside seating, but we opted to sit inside. There is music playing in the background, but not too loud. Bathrooms were clean and spacious. Their menu is updated from the one in their website. It's organized to choose some of the meals as either a sandwich, burrito, bowl or quesadilla. They also have appetizers, but everything is from $10-$15. If you want to make it a meal, it's $5 more for chips, salsa and a drink. Lucky for us, they have a lunch deal for $14.99 which includes any meal, chips, salsa and drink, so we decided on that. I was told that is not on the menu and only offered Monday-Friday from 11am-2pm. I chose the "El Tumbao" bowl with rice and black beans. There was a brown rice and pinto beans option. The ropa vieja (flank steak) was flavorful although I can do without the pickled onions. I felt it took away from the rest of the dish, but still ate it all. My friend ordered the burrito, but did a custom order. They were flexible if you want to do it that way. She said it was delicious and huge! Much more filling. The chips were great and we got to pick from their salsa menu. I chose avocado lime sauce and my friend got the jalapeño ranch sauce. Both were equally delicious. A good option from the typical salsa served elsewhere. For dessert, I had to try the churros. It came with 2 and topped with sugar and cinnamon, but you can ask for a side of chocolate. The place was a great lunch spot. I would love to come back to try their tostones sandwich.

We decided to pop in on another Sunday afternoon and it was just as delicious as the first. First the frozen margarita is secretly strong, enjoy! Service on Sunday is on point. You won't have to wait for anything. Because I love the Yucca fries (best in Richmond), I decided to try a "Latin Poutine" with salsa instead of gravy. So delicious!!! I wish I could have them everyday. Consistency is what you can expect in this cute little restaurant.

Food comes in large portions & too with a tonnnn of flavor! every dish i've tried so far is packed with a ton of ingredients & more than enough to save for later. The staff always greets you as soon as you enter, and food is ready on time. you can order online & receive a text when your meal is ready. they also offer a happy hour with specials. Highly recommend the nachos! So delicious & every thing always cooked fresh!

Had to take a bite first since it was looking and smelling so good! Yum, yum!

Really flavorful food that hits the spot! I had been wanting to try this place for a while, and I wish I'd gone sooner. I had la máquina (fried green plantain with fried eggs, fried cheese, fried salami, red onions, mayoketchup ($12) at the food truck, and I had been craving mangu with the full hookup (fried cheese, fried salami (like what we'd called boloney), and fried onions, so that hit the spot! If you're a fan of a good boloney sandwich, then this one is your shot, for sure! You'll love it! If you've never had fried green plantain, think all that's wonderful about fries, but more flavor, better crunch, and good sturdiness for a sandwich. It's a win-win, my friend. I promise! The patacon was really good, impossibly tender and crispy. Usually, they can be a bit hard, even at the best places, but theirs was done perfectly here. They put the perfect amount of salt to the outside to give it that touch that most other places miss. It's really the little things sometimes. They really thought about everything, and it shows. The pickled onions are the icing on the cake. Perfection! Next time, im looking forward to an old school morir soñando, which I have definitely been craving, along with el mayimbe or el tumbao. The owners are nice, prices are reasonable, it was very clean, they are bilingual, and the menu is fun and creative, which is what you want. You can't lose. Definitely hurry by to check them out, and bring your friends! They'll thank you for introducing them to some new yummies. Next time, I'm looking forward to an old school morir soñando, which I have definitely been craving, along with el mayimbe or el tumbao.

While I've frequented the truck, it was my first time at the brick & mortar. It's quite spacious with a really nice patio area. EVERYTHING is so flavorful!! The sandwiches are super filling too, since it's smashed between plantains. I loved the sandwich names, a great nod to the culture. It's a family run business, and the owners and staff are always so welcoming. If you're in Chesterfield or see their truck, run don't walk!

WOWWWWW!!! PARTY IN MY MOUTH! I can't believe I've never heard of this place, but I discovered them through ordering from ChefSuite for the first time. I got the El Tumbao smashed Plantain sandwich and it's literally one of the best things I've ever tasted. I'm already planning my next order. I don't think I can truly comment on the service because I had my food delivered, but it came fast and the food was still warm. I can't wait to try it when it's off the grill FRESH!

I saw their food truck at Maymont and decided to try them out. Ordered the nachos with pork and it came with queso, cheese, onions. A good amount of toppings, but not a ton of chips. Flavor was good, but it did get cold quickly since it was outside in cold. I would definitely like to try them again inside and savor the flavor. Food: 6.9 Staff/service: na Overall: 6.9/10

We love Latin Quarter. The service is always the best, quick, friendly, overall amazing. The restaurant is always so clean, even the restrooms. The food is fresh and tasty, options for everyone. Great Happy Hour specials not only drinks but nachos too! This place just keeps us coming back time and time again! :)

    #2 El Tumbao (Flank Steak)

I'm so glad I found this place. It definitely has a Dominican vibe which I love. The food was absolutely amazing, I had "El Tumbao" sandwich which had a mix of flavors that will keep lingering in your mouth afterwards. The service was great! I would definitely come back. PS: this is the first ever review I leave after eating at a restaurant.

My boyfriend and I were able to order from the food truck and it did not disappoint. I love plantains and Latin cuisine so this was perfect. I ordered the El Mayimbe Plantain sandwich and it was my favorite, the flavor was immaculate! My boyfriend's sandwich (El Tumbao) was also good. We ate our sandwiches so fast we ordered one more to share (El Chavo). 10/10 experience, service, and food. Absolutely will order here again!

Once inside, you can pick where to sit. If it's hot outside, I recommend the back tables where the AC unit sits on a window. I went two days in a row and sat in the front and then the back and it was much better in the back. The menu had many options, so we decided to order the meat and cheese PUPUSA and TAQUITOS CATRACHOS. I don't think the taquitos come with rice and beans, but I got them anyways because I had asked, so maybe this was an exception. The pupusas were very good. They come with cabbage on the side to put on top and they gave me this red salsa to add. It is a little runny not the consistency of ketchup and not spicy, but it's good. The TAQUITOS CATRACHOS were crunchy and filling. The rice and beans tasted fresh. Only complaint was the cheese on the salad it came with, it didn't smell great. Maybe that's the way it's supposed to smell, but I didn't like it, so didn't eat it. A fried cornmeal patty with a fun filling may become my new go to thats how good it was. They also have some nice house sauces, one spicy and one mild which definitely elevates the dishes! My favorite was the mild green sauce which had a lovely herby undertone.
