Parrilla Mixta: Grilled Steak, Chicken & Pork

Immediately walking into this establishment you felt welcomed and smelled the delicious food. I loved the decorations and the ambiance. I love that it's family owned and had the pleasure to meet one of the owners. She was kind and answered all of the questions I had. The food was amazing and flavorful. My favorite was the beef empanada. It was fresh, hot, crispy and flavorful. I will definitely be returning when in the area.

Steak y Sabor replaced my favorite Venezuelan restaurant in Richmond. Much of the interior remains the same, but they did open up the view to the kitchen. The greeter was as expected, very pleasant. The menu offered is a bit more limited than the previous establishment, absent my favorite, Cachapa, as well as drinks such as chicha and Parchita. I opted for the chicken patacon made with green plantains and the fried yuccas. The patacon was flavored well, though smaller than what I'm accustomed to. The yuccas were crispy on the exterior and soft on the inside. All in all. Not a bad experience. And while I most likely won't go out of my way visit, would definitely visit if I was in the area.

The young lady taking the orders was super nice!!! The food looks so good. The chicken and the sausage were a winner. So was the fried plantain. The steak had good flavor but was so tough that I couldn't eat it. The yuca fries were tasteless. I'd come back if in the area just for the sausage and plantains.

Delicious with excellent customer service. I had the chicken arepa and a side of yucca fries. Tasty homemade sauces!

Tucked away in a little corner but packed with awesome food! You could smell it as soon as you walked up. Friendly service! We ordered the Parilla platter for two it was more than enough that our family of three could've ate from it. Deliciously seasoned beef, pork, chicken, sausage, and fried cheese!!! We chose our served with a side of pico, yucca frita (my fave) and rice. We'll definitely be bringing our foodie friends to try this place.

My husband and I both agreed that we will be back to visit! Every item we tried today was delightful! I had the Aguita e Sapo and my husband had the chicken with yuca fries and plantains! All the flavors were on point! Our server also recommended we try the tequeños and so glad we did! Good food is obviously important, but so is the service and this establishment rocked both!

The food and service were 10/10. Yana and her mother were so sweet and gracious. The chicken was flavorful, the beans were perfect texture and even the white rice had flavor. I will be back to try the rest of their menu.

This tidy little Latino market carries many Hispanic, Mexican and South American products. Being of Cuban descent, I frequently head to this site for Goya products, including rice, black beans, plantains, Adobo spices, coffee, Maria cookies, fresh fruits and veggies, tomato items, empanada shells and my "never be without" Mojo Criollo Goya marinade. This marinade truly is the spice of life and I use it in many of my recipes! You will also find baked goods, household items, and sundries at this store. There's a deli/butcher in the back and a frozen food section. There's also a small restaurant and pupuseria serving Latin fare, from Cuban sandwiches to tacos to tostones to tamales to yucca to soups/sides and more. They serve Cuban coffee, horchata, Latin sodas, and other drinks and some tempting desserts, like flan and tres leches cake. For an inexpensive, quick bite in a casual, no nonsense eatery with lots of festive atmosphere, you've gotta try Cielito Lindo, it really is "a slice of heaven". And not to worry if you don't speak Spanish, some of the folks there speak English. ¡Provecho!

The pulled pork had no flavor at all until you added the hot sauce that was on the table. If you don't want hot sauce, you just get to eat plain white bread pulled pork. (The hot sauce was maybe the best thing on the table besides the black beans...) Every single damn dish was covered in chopped sweet peppers; completely unnecessary and what are they trying to hide? Couldn't even taste the empanadillas because they had so much crema all over them...that should be on the side so we could actually taste the food . The steak was OK (not Cuban in any recognizable way) but the very smallest portion possible....for a "special" that we paid extra for, we expected it to be special in some way. And the platanos...THE PLATANOS...super over-fried and dry as a bone with no flavor, no salt, no nothing. We left a huge dish of them on the table. The key lime tart barely had any lime flavor. The flan was lumpy! The "tres leches" cake is just plain yellow sheet cake with simple marshmallow frosting. WTAF We drove an hour each way and promised guests great Cuban food, only to be disappointed and, frankly, super embarrassed.
