The writer of that poor review seems to have been enjoying the sound of her own writing (which leans toward the overly dramatic and away from anything like an honest review) more than trying to express anything real about the Bavarian Chef. She seems to have an ax of some kind to grind, as she could find not one nice, decent thing to say. I disagree with her with every well-seasoned, perfectly cooked vegetable and flavorful rye roll digesting in my belly right now. The Bavarian Chef is a treat. You'd be a fool to miss it!

We stopped in for lunch and the meal was fantastic. We ordered off the specials menu with the grilled cheese with bacon jam, a bowl of tomato soup and the naan pizza. The grilled cheese was perfectly balanced with salt and savory. And the tomato soup was a delicious pairing. The coffee was hot and tasty. In fact, I came back here several times during our visit to Madison. The biggest hit of all though was the giant chalkboard in the back. I decided to give it another go. The people were very polite and helpful as usual, the service is always nice. Always good people there. My son got a chicken sandwich which was tasty. I was told my wait would be 15 to 20 minutes. It was in reality about 40 minutes. I got a ribeye sandwich to go. When I got home literally like 90% of that sandwich was fat I actually had a hard time eating it. I was a little disappointed, but it happens. The fries were hot and crispy. The coleslaw was delicious. I do recommend going and giving them a try. Their barbecue is always a big hit!
