Came here with my husband and his parents for dinner - cool spot. The food truck location has a bunch of picnic tables outside (porta potty on premise). We got fried plantains, three tacos, and a Torta Cubana to share. My tacos were OK - not overly flavorful. Of the three I got, the carnitas was my favorite. Loved the plantains! My husband's torta was MASSIVE - it came with fries too! He gave the other half of the sandwich to his parents because they didn't love what they ordered (Flautas were too crispy for them). We got a melon agua fresca to share and that was delicious and refreshing, albeit quite sweet. I do wish they weren't using styrofoam for their drink and to go containers.. We heard about La Chiapaneca from a friend and decided to drive out to their food truck today. Our first impression was that it was super cute and the outdoor seating was full of personality. We like to try the birria tacos everywhere we go that has them on the menu; and these did not disappoint! We also ordered bean and cheese pupusa's, queso and chips, flan, and a pina fresca. Driving through on the way south in 29, stopped in for a quick lunch. Wow. We will be back! Everything was fresh and tasty and the portions were good. The tables are cute, and the outdoor setting made it feel like a party. Highly recommended. The 6" super taco was great - ate some of it with a fork and was then able to pick up. (This review is for their food-truck location, not the brick-&-mortar restaurant in town.) After a couple of disappointing visits, we had paused visiting here, but finally returned one evening last month to give it another try. And it was definitely worth it! We ordered what had always been our traditional favorites - "Taco Supreme" with chicken. (Two each at $4.25 per taco.) They were all delightfully overstuffed with deliciously seasoned tender chicken & all the toppings (although I don't recall any sour cream). Containers of both green & red sauces were supplied, & both were very nicely nasal-cleaning incendiary. There were a LOT of people waiting to pick up orders when we got there, & quite a few people pulling in to apparently pick up orders they'd placed online, so do be prepared for a bit of a wait. I think we waited around 30 minutes after placing our order. Bottom Line: Wait notwithstanding, we will definitely be returning. read more

I like the food truck location as well as the brick and mortar. Ive had the birria tacos twice which was good however this time they weren't very flavorful and the consume was very greasy with meat fat at the top. The elote is amazing from this place so I always get a side of it. The pupusas are OK...I've had much better and wouldn't recommend them from here unless you have no other option. The carnitas tacos are really good and come with plenty of meat. The cheese fries are great too! The menu is pretty large so there's plenty of options to choose from. read more

I love the food here. I have been multiple times and everything has always been delicious, fresh tasting, and authentic. Food is served quickly. The only negative thing I have to say is that the music is always WAY too loud. I went with three other people and we could barely talk to each other. Seating is limited too. Food truck with brightly painted covered picnic benches set the ambiance at this delicious location. It's incredibly difficult to find real Mexican food, but this truck delivers! I got three shrimp tacos and hubs got the torta Cubana. We waited maybe five minutes for our food to be ready. The shrimp tacos were bomb: real corn tortillas that were warm and pliable while sturdy, slaw, a ripe slice of avocado and 4-5 delicious, perfectly sized shrimp. It came with a tasty red sauce with *real* heat and green sauce that was deliciously mild but flavorful. Oh, and a ripe, juicy slice of lime. The torta Cubana was enormous and came with a robust serving of fries with delicious spices on them. There was too much between the very fresh slices of bun/bread/torta for me to list, so refer to picture. Hubby says he definitely recommends it, and it was more than enough for a meal. Porta-potties are there in case you're wondering . If you like real Mexican foood that's fresh and cooked with love at a super casual outdoor dining setting, this place is for you. We had the gorditas and birria tacos with consome sauce. All our food was warm and very tasty. The three beef birria tacos were cooked in an adobe sauce which gives the tacos an orange color. Culpeper is such a boring county until THIS TRUCK ROLLED IN WITH THEIR FLAVOR. La Chiapaneca is a strong , rising food truck here that is super easy to find. I've been here multiple times and the service is consistent - good, delicious food Done in a second. My usual go to is the lengua tacos. You know it's gonna be a good taco place when they have tongue. Red sauce burns your mouth like it should and the green sauce takes you on a saucy trip to smooth Flavortown. I'm usually not fond of Tortas, but they sure packed it so much that I ate the second half for lunch the next day. Fries are well seasoned and got that Latino flavors to it. Tacos were delicious and the tortilla is freshly made. Price for each toco is $2.50 which a great price! Highly recommend La Chiapaneca. The only issue we had was that there were lots of people waiting, no one had a mask on and no social distancing. We were really the only ones with masks on. read more

The food the past few times has not been good as it used to be. Not sure what's going on! Also the last couple times I have gotten home and to my surprise not what I've ordered. I paid for 4 steak taco supremes and got home and they were just steak cilantro and onion?? On top of that 4 steak taco supremes and a Coca Cola bottle is a few cents less than a $20 bill...... wouldn't have been as mad if it was cheap. This was my last trip unfortunately. As a new local to the area who is vegan and also 8 months pregnant, this food truck brought joy to my weekend when I found out that their rice and beans are vegan! My boyfriend tried to get a simple side order of rice and beans along with chips and guacamole for me, and although there initially was said to be no way to get just rice and beans, they accommodated. The food tasted fresh, authentic, and wasn't too spicy by any means. I like that the food wasn't very seasoned as it allowed the natural flavors of the rice and beans to come out. The guacamole and chips were great! Chips were warm and colorful and the guacamole had a wonderful flavor and texture. I don't even like tomato but loved it in this guac haha. My boyfriend and I both look forward to returning and dining outside. If I could get a burrito made vegan with rice, beans, onion, lettuce, and tomato that would be beautiful. I get very clingy to restaurants that cater to plant based diets and would love to make this a regular place for lunches and dinners! La Chiapaneca is a small food truck, located right off of the 15 in Culpeper. They offer tacos, gorditas, tortas, tortas cubanas, quesadillas, burritos, sopes, nachos, pupusas, and cheese fries. The hubs and I ordered the following: an al pastor taco, a carne asada taco, a carnitas taco, and a cheese pupusa. Both the al pastor and the carne asada were just okay, but the carnitas was super juicy and flavorful, and great with the hot sauce. The cheese pupusa was also a winner in my book, as it was extra crispy around the edges, and there was a great masa and the cheese filling ratio - not too thick, and it was thin enough where the pupusa was crispy! Yum! There are plenty of colored picnic tables with shades set up for al fresco dining, and there are plenty of parking spots available on the gravel lot. This place is legit. Some of the best pupusas I've had in the United States and that's not even exaggerating. The nachos are alright and the cheese is your typical nacho cheese stuff but the quesadillas and the pupusas are the stuff of dreams. If you have a spare 6 dollars, give this place a try! After a couple years and some solid visits, they still are putting out to notch food. I've had almost everything on the menu at this point, and I've yet to be disappointed! Came here for lunch and loved it. It's a salvadoran food truck with picnic tables to enjoy your delicious meal. We had tacos, plantains, chips and queso and a sope. Oh and a pupusa too. Everything was delicious but the Salvadoran food was better than the Mexican food. The plantains were perfectly cooked and the chips and queso were the best I've ever had (chips were made on site and still warm when we ate them). The pupusas are legit, We had the revueltas. They have Excellent food. My favorite is two tacos with one pupusa. I have tried various other dishes and everything has been excellent. They provide a generous portion of meat on their tacos. At this time of the year (winter), they prepare a lot of take-out meals. We ate our meal at one of their outdoor covered "picnic" tables. All their seating is outside because this is "food truck". We brought our own drinks but you can also buy an assortment of drinks from them, including Mexican sodas. I have never been disappointed with my food. I have always received generious portions.
